• Unit testing with django-celery?

  I am trying to come up with a testing methodology for our django-celery project. I have read the notes in the documentation, but it didn't give me a good idea of what to actually do. I am not worried about testing the tasks in the actual daemons, just the functionality of my code. Mainly I am wondering: How can we bypass task.delay() during the test (I tried setting CELERY_ALWAYS_EAGER = True but it made no difference)? How do we use the test settings that are recommended (if that is the best way) without actually changing our settings.py? Can we still use manage.py test or do we have to use a custom runner? Overall any hints or tips for testing with celery would be very helpful.

• Disable escape in Zend Form Element Submit

  I can't disable escaping in a Zend_Form_Element_Submit, so when the label has special characters it won't display it's value.. This is my actual Zend Form piece of code: $this->submit = new Zend_Form_Element_Submit('submit'); $this->submit->setLabel('Iniciar Sesión'); $this->submit->setIgnore(true); $this->addElement($this->submit); I've tried $this->submit->getDecorator('Label')->setOption('escape', false); but I obtain an "non-object" error (maybe submit isn't using the "Label" Decorator).. I've also tried as suggested $this->submit->setAttrib('escape', false); but no text will be shown either.. Any idea? Thanks

• JQUERY UI Dialog Box - Close Function

  Hi Guys, I have a problem with the jquery-ui dialog box. The problem is that when I close the dialog box and then I click on the link that triggers it, it does not pop-up again unless I refresh the page. How can I call the dialog box back without refreshing the actual page.   I'm a SQL noob, and I need a little bit of help understanding the big picture of if it is possible, and if so how to go about filtering a result set based on the return value of a function which is passed one of the fields of the record. Let's say I have a table called "Numbers" with just one field: "Value". How could I correctly specify the following "pseudo-sql"?: SELECT Value FROM numbers WHERE IsPrime(Value)=true Can I accomplish such a thing, and if so, where/how do I put/store "IsPrime"? • Can I pass an argument to a VBScript (vbs file launched with cscript)?

  I have this script saved in "test.vbs": Set FSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set File = FSO.OpenTextFile(workFolder &"\test.txt", 2, True) File.Write "testing" File.Close Set File = Nothing Set FSO = Nothing Set workFolder = Nothing When I run the script I want to pass the value of the "workFolder" variable. How can I do this? Can I do it? Something like "cscript test.vbs workFolder:'C:\temp\'" perhaps? Bonus question: Is it neccessary to clean up the passed variable with "Set workFolder = Nothing" or does VBSCript do that automatically when it terminates? Maybe "Set File = Nothing" and "Set FSO = Nothing" is unneccessary also? Please let me know if you know the answer to both these questions.

It should be transactional but it's not on the same entity group as the product and the card already been persisted, isn't it?   I have read that Haskell parser combinators (in Parsec) can parse context sensitive grammars. Is this also true for Scala parser combinators? If so, is this what the "into" (aka "") function is for? What are some strengths/weaknesses of Scala's implementation of parser combinators, vs Haskell's? Do they accept the same class of grammars? Is it easier to generate error messages or do other miscellaneous useful things with one or the other? How does packrat parsing (introduced in Scala 2.8) fit into this picture? Is there a webpage or some other resource that shows how different operators/functions/DSL-sugar from one language's implementation maps onto the other's?

• How to improve INSERT INTO ... SELECT locking behavior

  In our production database, we ran the following pseudo-code SQL batch query running every hour: INSERT INTO TemporaryTable (SELECT FROM HighlyContentiousTableInInnoDb WHERE allKindsOfComplexConditions are true) Now this query itself does not need to be fast, but I noticed it was locking up HighlyContentiousTableInInnoDb, even though it was just reading from it. Which was making some other very simple queries take ~25 seconds (that's how long that other query takes). Then I discovered that InnoDB tables in such a case are actually locked by a SELECT! http://www.mysqlperformanceblog.com/2006/07/12/insert-into-select-performance-with-innodb-tables/ But I don't really like the solution in the article of selecting into an OUTFILE, it seems like a hack (temporary files on filesystem seem sucky). Any other ideas? Is there a way to make a full copy of an InnoDB table without locking it in this way during the copy. Then I could just copy the HighlyContentiousTable to another table and do the query there.

I'd like to pass in a parameter or two via the path to the script. Like this; <script src="/scripts/myJavascriptFile.js?config1=true" type="text/javascript"></script> Not really sure if it can work but it would make my solution a little easier for others to take my script and implement (arguable). • Problem inserting parameters into a function

  Ok, I am trying to place parameters into a function that is called like so: $parameters['function']($parameters['params']); Here is the function and the parameters that I need to be placed into this: $parameters['function'] = 'test_error'; $parameters['params'] = array(0 => $txt['sometext'], 1 => 'critical', 2 => true); The test_error function takes 3 parameters: The error to output The type of error noted within a string value ('general', 'critical', etc. etc.). Whether it should be echoed or not. Here is the output I get: Here is a test error.ArraycriticalArray1 I know this function works perfect, but it only gives me the 1st parameter returned from it. What am I doing wrong here with the $parameters['params']??

The temples uses sample item as its sample Item. i am attempting to replace that sample ITem with a custom type from web reference in my ASP.Net project .dll. • 3ds collada UV mapping problem in Papervision

  Hi everyone, as I briefly explained in the title, my prblem concerns texturing a collada export in papervision. Basically I was exporting collada models from Cinema 4d with its uv map. I was able to see everything, but the texture was not displaying properly (hidden polygons). So I decided to try with 3dsMax. I used the same code to display the texture : var materials:MaterialsList = new MaterialsList(); var torusMaterial:BitmapFileMaterial = new BitmapFileMaterial("model/tex.png"); torusMaterial.precise = true; materials.addMaterial(torusMaterial, "ID1"); Again, I can see every elements, but this time my model uses only one pixel of my texture. So if I use a red texture and if I color only the pixel at the left bottom corner in green, all my model will be green. Any advice about how to properly wrap the texture around a 3ds export model ?   I have been assigned a task that I should change our solr search to sort a list returned by solr by using the term frequency. Well, I´ve found a way to do so simply by using omitNorms="true". The problem is, that this won´t work when I am doing a field - search, say by name: q=name:jones Following this example I get a list of document whose term frequency is the highest for the "name" field. But What I wanted to achieve is to have a query that is giving my a list of documents whose term frequency is the highest for ALL fields. Example: If a User named Jones also has the word "Jones" in his biography 10 times I want that document ranked higher. Is that possible ?

• sending instant messages through python (msn)

  ok I am well aware there are many other questions about this, but I have been searching and have yet to find a solid proper answer that doesnt revolve around jabber or something worse. (no offense to jabber users, just I don't want all the extras that come with it) I currently have msnp and twisted.words, I simply want to send and receive messages, have read many examples that have failed to work, and msnp is poorly documented. My preference is msnp as it requires much less code, I'm not looking for something complicated. • How to run report in ReportViewer without having to click View Report button?

• BackgroundWorker vs background Thread

  I have a stylistic question about the choice of background thread implementation I should use on a windows form app. Currently I have a BackgroundWorker on a form that has an infinite (while(true)) loop. In this loop I use WaitHandle.WaitAny to keep the thread snoozing until something of interest happens. One of the event handles I wait on is a "stopthread" event so that I can break out of the loop. This event is signaled when from my overridden Form.Dispose(). I read somewhere that BackgroundWorker is really intended for operations that you dont want to tie up the UI with and have an finite end - like downloading a file, or processing a sequence of items. In this case the "end" is unknown and only when the window is closed. Therefore would it be more appropriate for me to use a background Thread instead of BackgroundWorker for this purpose?

• Autoscroll on parent panel, when there is overflow on child panels.Extjs

  I'm having a single Parent Panel, which has 2 child panels. One has content dynamically created, while the other is fixed height and width. The Parent panel is using border layout, with center and east regions defined. I'm trying to get autoscroll to trigger on the parent panel when there is an overflow on on the center region panel. I've set the autoscroll option to true to the parent panel, but everytime there is an overflow on the center panel, it just gets cuts off. When I'm adding an overflow to center region panel, i get a scrollbar for that panel alone. I don't need that, but rather I want it on the entire Parent Panel. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions..

• Capture reload/endrequest event after server redirect to download file

  Inside a webpage I have an Excel download button, which redirects to a webpage that serves the requested Excel file via the application/ms-excel MIME type, which usually results in a file download in the browser. In the webpage, I have the following jQuery code: $(document).ready(function () { $(".div-export .button").click(function () { setBusy(true); }); Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(function () { setBusy(false); }); }); Which displays a busy animation while the user waits for the Excel file to be served. Problem is: The animation doesn't end (setBusy(false);) after the file download, because the endRequest event doesn't get fired, probably because of the server redirect. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Edit: The download button is handled in an UpdatePanel.
