  • What's the pattern for a JSONP method that was initiated from a jQuery plugin?

    I'm writing a jQuery plugin to render data retrieved from another domain in an element on the page. I follow the typical pattern for my jQuery plugin: $(selector).Plugin(options); In the plugin I get external data using jQuery.getScript(url, [success]). The external data source allows me to define the name of a method and it will wrap the data in a call to that method (JSONP): $.getScript("http://www.example.com/data?callback=global_callback", instance_callback); This effectively results in: <script type="text/javascript"> global_callback(data); </script> The scope of global_callback limits what the Plugin instance can do with the data. And the global_callback method has no knowledge of the selector or options that the plugin was instantiated with. I was thinking that global_callback would just store the data, and the plugin would retrieve the data in instance_callback. But I need to make sure that instance_callback will retrieve the correct data, I foresee a problem with multiple instances of the Plugin. How can I handle this? Thanks!

  • [Python] How do I read binary pickle data first, then unpickle it?

    I'm unpickling a NetworkX object that's about 1GB in size on disk. Although I saved it in the binary format (using protocol 2), it is taking a very long time to unpickle this file---at least half an hour. The system I'm running on has plenty of system memory (128 GB), so that's not the bottleneck. I've read here that pickling can be sped up by first reading the entire file into memory, and then unpickling it (that particular thread refers to python 3.0, which I'm not using, but the point should still be true in python 2.6). How do I first read the binary file, and then unpickle it? I have tried: import cPickle as pickle f = open("big_networkx_graph.pickle","rb") bin_data = f.read() graph_data = pickle.load(bin_data) But this returns: TypeError: argument must have 'read' and 'readline' attributes Any ideas?

    I have a UnitOfWork/Service pattern where I populate my model using NHibernate before sending it to the view. For some reason I still get the YSOD, and I don't understand why the object collection is not already populated.     <input src="LOGO.JPG" type="image" name="imagem"> I have an xml element that contains the image path that needs to be displayed in HTML after the parse. <xsl:value-of select="image"/> returns the string that is stored in the image element but how can I use it to make that string be the src atribute value in an html tag? I tried <input src="<xsl:value-of select="image"/>" type="image" name="imagem"> but obviously that doesn't work so how can it be done? I hope I was clear in my question. Please help!

When a corporate gets registered,corporateID is given,When a user under that corporate gets registered there is a table corporateuser in which corporateID is a foreign key and CorporateUserID is a primary key.Similarly in the case of a brand. So we have CorporateUserId and BrandUserID. Now i have a table called RegisteredUsers in which i want to have corporate as well as brand users.UserID is a primary key in this table which is a foreign key to both corporateuser as well as Branduser. now when i enter a corporateuser,I do an entry to corporateuser as well as RegisteredUsers.When i enter CorporateUserID in userID for RegisteredUsers.It gives foreign key violation error. I fully understand this error.How can i achieve this.This requirement is very rigid.Please tell a workaround

  • Transferring binary data through a SOAP webservice? C# / .NET

    I have a webservice that returns the binary array of an object. Is there an easier way to transfer this with SOAP or does it need to be contained in XML? It's working, but I had to increase the send and receive buffer to a large value. How much is too much? Transferring binary in XML as an array seems really inefficient, but I can't see any way to add a binary attachment using .NET.

  • Ubuntu make symbolic link between new folder in Home to existing folder

    Hello, To the point. I have Ubuntu Maverick running on my Lenovo G450. Before, it was Windows 7. All my data are inside another partition, its NTFS. FSTAB line to mount that partition : /dev/sda5 /data ntfs auto,users,uid=1000,gid=1000,utf8,dmask=027,fmask=137 0 0 Inside /data there are folder Musics, Graphics, Tools, Cores, etc. If I'm about to create new folder, let see, GFX on /home/apronouva/GFX and make it link or pointing to /data/Graphics, how do I do that ? So when I open /home/apronouva/GFX the content will be the same as inside /data/Graphics .. and whatever changes I made inside GFX, it will also affect /data/Graphics I tried : $ ln -s /data/Graphics /home/apronouva/GFX it resulted : error, cannot make symbolic link between folder Thanks in advance, Fath

    Ok, firstly this is not about forms this is about consistent layout as a user explores a site. let me explain: If we imagine a (non-ajax) digital camera online store, say someone was on the DSLR section and specified to view the cameras in Gallery mode and order by price. They then click onto the Compact camera's page. It would be in the users interests if the 'views' they selected we're carried over to this new page. Now, i'd say use a session - am i wrong? are there performance issues i should be aware of for a few small session vars ( ie view=1 , orderby=price) ?

  • Is there an automatic way to generate a rollback script when inserting data with LINQ2SQL?

    Let's assume we have a bunch of LINQ2SQL InsertOnSubmit statements against a given DataContext. If the SubmitChanges call is successful, is there any way to automatically generate a list of SQL commands (or even LINQ2SQL statements) that would automatically undo everything that was submitted? It's like executing a rollback even though everything worked as expected. Note: The destination database will either be Oracle or SQL Server, so if there is specific functionality for both databases that will achieve this, I'm happy to use that as well.

    In one of my UIViewControllers, I am calling initWithNibName:bundle: for several other UIViewControllers. I am grabbing the view property in each of those dynamically created controllers and placing them, one after the other, in my parent view. For instance, the y offset of viewControllerB should be equal to the height of viewControllerA. The y offset of viewControllerC should be equal to the height of viewControllerB, and so on. I am initalizing these nibs in viewDidLoad, yet none of them have any meaningful bounds or frame properties. The sizes and positions of each are all zero. Where is the 'correct' place to do this type of operation so that I can grab meaningful values from these properties?

  • Best way to store data for Greasemonkey based crawler?

    I want to crawl a site with Greasemonkey and wonder if there is a better way to temporarily store values than with GM_setValue. What I want to do is crawl my contacts in a social network and extract the Twitter URLs from their profile pages. My current plan is to open each profile in it's own tab, so that it looks more like a normal browsing person (ie css, scrits and images will be loaded by the browser). Then store the Twitter URL with GM_setValue. Once all profile pages have been crawled, create a page using the stored values. I am not so happy with the storage option, though. Maybe there is a better way? I have considered inserting the user profiles into the current page so that I could all process them with the same script instance, but I am not sure if XMLHttpRequest looks indistignuishable from normal user initiated requests.

    I'm designing a MongoDB database that works with a script that periodically polls a resource and gets back a response which is stored in the database. Right now my database has one collection with four fields , id, name, timestamp and data. I need to be able to find out which names had changes in the data field between script runs, and which did not. In pseudocode, if(data[name][timestamp]==data[name][timestamp+1]) //data has not changed store data in collection 1 else //data has changed between script runs for this name store data in collection 2 Is there a query that can do this without iterating and running javascript over each item in the collection? There are millions of documents, so this would be pretty slow. Should I create a new collection named timestamp for every time the script runs? Would that make it faster/more organized? Is there a better schema that could be used? The script runs once a day so I won't run into a namespace limitation any time soon.

Why is it not? :( In fact, I want to combine 2 parts of the same array to make a complex array: Data[:,:,:,0] , Data[:,:,:,1] These don't work: x = np.complex(Data[:,:,:,0], Data[:,:,:,1]) x = complex(Data[:,:,:,0], Data[:,:,:,1]) Am I missing something?     I might be doing this wrong, if I am, let me know, but I'm curious if the following is possible: I have a class that holds a number of dictionaries, each of which pairs names to a different set of objects of a given class. For example: items = {"ball" : ItemInstance1, "sword" : ItemInstance2} people = {"Jerry" : PersonInstance1, "Bob" : PersonInstance2, "Jill" : PersonInstance3} My class would then hold the current items and people that are availible, and these would be subject to change as the state changes: Class State: def __init__(self, items, people): self.items = items self.people = people I would like to define a iter() and next() method such that it iterates through all of the values in its attributes. My first question is whether or not this is possible. If it is, will it be able to support a situation as follows: I define items and people as above then: state = State(items, people) for names, thing in state: print name + " is " + thing.color items[cheese] = ItemInstance3 for names, thing in state: print name + " weighs " + thing.weight While I feel like this would be usefull in the code I have, I don't know if it's either possible or the right approach. Everything I've read about user defined iterators has suggested that each instance of them is one use only.
