• OpenWonderland goes to Europe

  Past my day job, I also have the privilege of being Vice President and Member of the Board of the OpenWonderland Foundation (Formerly Project Wonderland for ex-Sun folks). It's great to see the progress Wonderland is making as the platform-of-choice for open source collaborative 3-D virtual worlds built in Java. The upcoming and first european IE Summit in Madrid will show a number of projects and innovations for virtual and game-based learning. I also dropped Ultan a note after learning about the Gamification of Oracle Apps to see if collaborating with kids and schools is an area we can work together on to improve kids engagement and learning experiences online. • Website .htaccess file for Wordpress sub folder

  I developed a Flash website for a client and added the following .htaccess file in the root directory and the non-www to www redirect works perfectly. RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^website.com [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.website.com/$1 [L,R=301] I was also asked to add a Wordpress blog so I put it in a new directory folder (as opposed to a sub domain) with so the URL is www.website.com/blog Does Google now see the main site and blog as two different websites? Do I need to link them together using another .htaccess file in the Wordpress Root so Google automatically crawls the whole domain? Any help appreciated....

• Why I loose my page rank after 301 redirect?

  As we all know Google treat sub-domain as completely separate domain so we have to fight for both, to get ranked in search results. Right! So one of my client website was like they having "example.com" and "Blog.example.com". So in mind to keep all stuff in one place we redirect "blog.example.com" to "example.com/blog/" But in this case we where loose our pagerank and still wondering where we went wrong or it just take few more time to showoff. so what is the reason behind this will be. It is titled "The Accessibility Act – ensuring access to goods and services across the EU", and I will be part of a distinguished panel exploring some of the issues the upcoming European Accessibility Act may address - with a particular emphasis in my case on the role of ICT accessibility. This morning policy dialog will be followed by a more focused workshop in the afternoon looking at specific challenges and potential solutions to those challenges. • Getting Started Quickly

  If you're interested in using Ops Center, you'll want to get up and running as quickly and effectively as possible. One way to do this would be to work your way through the documentation library - use the Linux or Oracle Solaris install guides, then go through the Feature Guide and Admin Guide to start using the software. They're thorough, but they're a lot of reading. But if you're looking to install a simple deployment quickly, and you don't want to do all of the configuration work right off the bat, you can use the Quick Start Guide. It's a streamlined procedure that runs you through installing a single Enterprise Controller and co-located Proxy Controller, and then shows you how to discover assets quickly. Once you've discovered these assets, it describes how to use the analytics feature to view their performance, and use monitoring to keep track of their statuses and health. You'll have to do some additional configuration to use features like OS provisioning, OS updates, and virtualization, but the Quick Start guide gives you an overview of how to install and start using features quickly.

• StreamInsight will not push feature releases through Microsoft Update going forward

  Until now, we've released StreamInsight through the Microsoft Download Center, and also released it out through Microsoft Update. Going forward, we will only release new StreamInsight versions through the Microsoft Download Center and only use MU to release service packs and security fixes (should any be needed). As a result of this decision, we are pulling off the recent StreamInsight 2.1 release from MU; this release is still available in Download Center. Don’t worry: there’s nothing wrong with the versions we’ve shipped in MU, we’ve just adjusted how we use MU. There is no action necessary from our customers as a result of this change, and we are not rolling back any changes to your current installation, so if you have installed StreamInsight 2.1 recently through the Microsoft Update, they will still work fine.
