• PAM module for authentication by IP or other password-disabling module

  I'm looking for a Linux pam module that accepts any password for connections from a specific IP. I don't want to disable passwords completely. I need it for migration from one imap server to another (cyrus to zimbra) without knowing every password. I used such a module some six years ago. That was for imap migration too. Unfortunately I cannot recall the name of the module and can't find it by other means either. Any pointers?

  I don't want to move my HDDs much, as it would definitely result in one of them one day dropping and fail... also, they are not portable (there are many), and inconvenient to use with a laptop. So, this is what I merely need:- 1) ability to access files as if the HDDs are directly connected to the computer.   I have partially downloaded a torrent file in ubuntu and unfortunately i renamed it. and after some time i resumed the remaining torrent file.but the torrent then got downloaded with its default name and i lost the complete file information into two different files... please help me out...is there any way that i can produce the whole information into one file...i can't open either file that means both file got corrupted or so...the file is in mp4 format...please help me

  In the Quick Installation Giide to the MDS600/D6000 storage server it says IMPORTANT: Some racks other than the HP Rack 10000 Series rack do not allow full access to hard drive bays 29-35 in hard drive drawer 2. I have a HP 10636 G2 19" Rack 36U (PN: AF011A). Question It is temping to think that the rack is supported, but can anyone comfirm that 10000 Series to HP means 10xxx, so my rack is supported?

• Synergy config being shared across computers

  For some reason, I'm unable to change where my synergy 1.3.1 profile data is being stored, with the result that when I start up, both computers end up reading it from the same shared file. Effectively this means that I'm ending up with both computers acting as clients or servers and both with the same name, until I change their profiles manually. Any advice? Thanks.

  We use the stats package SPSS through App-V however although it allows use of custom dialogs and macros, these must be placed in a sub folder within the app installation and so this means that users cannot add new macros. Is it possible to have an App-V package include a symbolically linked folder to point to a different place so that this remote folder could be updated easily without necessitating a rebuild and redeployment of the package?   I have 2 linux machines, they do not have internet connectivity or any other means of getting an external clock. I need one of them to act as the "master"/server and the other machine to sync it's clock to that server. It's not important that the time is correct, it's only important that the time is the same on these 2 machines. So, give I have a server (192.168.1.10) and a client (192.168.1.11), how do I set up /etc/ntp.conf on these 2 machines respectivly ?

  I've added my gmail account to Mail.app It worked find in previous days, and downloaded thousands of previous mails. But now, it can't connect to gmail server for days. What's the matter here?   I'm trying to prevent people from modifying (most) of my spreadsheet while still alowing them to use the sort function of the AutoFilter. What I've done so far is used the Worksheet_Change event and Application.Undo to automatically undo any values entered into cells that I don't want to be modified. This works great, except that it can't detect changes in formatting. Does anyone know of a means to trigger an event when the format (text/background color) of a cell is changed? Thanks!

  Please look in to the picture,here am trying to open(with vi editor) my server console log file(around 100MB) and it takes more than two minutes to open with so many special characters.after deleting the first line (means typing "dd")then i can easily view the file and size of the file is also reduced very much.My server OS is RHEL 5.4 and jboss is running in to it. Please help me to avoid such junk characters coming to my server console log files and it helps me to save my valuable space in server.

• Lighttpd Prepending Strings to Certain Files.

  I have a Mint install (Fantastic stats, if you were wondering) and I would like to move over to Lighttpd for my server needs. Unfortunatly, this means that php_auto_prepend is no longer easily available. I understand that PHP can do this in the php.ini file, but I have areas that can't have this value prepended so that's out of the question. Is there a lighttpd way to prepend my script for my mint install in some files, and have it disabled for others?

• Network connection on Linux

  A general question about network connection on Linux : once a network connection goes into time_wait, is it still tied to the process ? Does it still use resources like say filehandle ? Reason I ask is because once it goes into time_wait, lsof does not report it anymore. I guess that means that the network connection is no longer tied to the process and hence does not count against filehandle limit. Would like to confirm though.

• What does it mean - to get billed to the 95th percentile at $x.xx per meg?

  I got a quote from a colo, saying "I could do 3U, the power and 20 megs burstable to 100 for $250 a month with each additional meg billed to the 95th percentile at 6.50 per meg..so you would have he ability to burst if you needed it but not pay for the full 24/7 amount of the IP." I'm assuming it means - 20Mbits unmetered, anything above is billed on the 95th percentile at the rate of $6.50/Mbit. Am I right? And how do you measure the $x.xx per meg, at 95th percentile?

  I chrooted a user to the directory /var/www/upload using ChrootDirectory /var/www/upload in my etc/ssh/sshd_config. The permissions of all the files in var/www/upload is 755 and owner is root:upload_user. However, I still cannot modify the files. (Getting a permission denied error.) Is it possible if I create a subdirectory with ownership upload_user:upload_user. Is it, by any means, possible to allow my chrooted user to write to his / directory?

  I have a VPN set up on a Symantec Gateway 320 and the status of the VPN is connected but the feature it provides is not working which means it is not actually connected..The only way to test it other than trying to use it in the program that utilizes it is to ping the remote subnet IP we use. mask numbers match, no settings have been changed it just stopped working.

  Hi, Im using windows 2007 server 64 bit OS, I've uploaded the snap shot of my task manager when minimum processes running It shows Total memory 8190 mb *Cached memory 4315 mb* Free 3402 mb So effectively I get only 3402 mb of total RAM usage My question here is more than half is used for cached memory is there any means I can decrease this cached memory inturn I can increase my free memory. • Chrome: Save as dialogue creates temp file in download directory, I want to change this location

  I've set the download directory for Chrome to be my desktop, but that means that whenever I want to "Save As" it creates a temp file on my desktop until I select the final download destination and close the dialogue. This is deeply frustrating since I browse windowed and I keep seeing the damn things pop up and disappear in the corner of my eye, is there any way to change the directory in which temp files are created in this manner?
