• "Aero snap"-animation not working correctly on the right side of the screen [closed]

  When using the "aero snap"-feature on the right side of screen the animation doesn't fill up the complete screen height, Only if the mouse pointer is at the very top of the right side of screen. Otherwise the animation box moves vertically as the mouse is moved along the edge of the screen, this does not happen on the other sides of the screen. I thought about submitting a bug but the bug program advised me to ask here first.

• Apache could not reliably determine server

  Apache cannot fully determine domain name when I tried restarting after install. I get this error; sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart *Restarting web server config apache2 apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1 for ServerName. Why I'm I seeing 127.0.1.1 I have tried saving ServerName localhost into my /etc/init.d/apache2 but it keeps redirecting me to google search page everytime I type phpmyadmin. Will appreciate an expert help?

• Spread windows not working on minimized applications

  When I'm using "SUPER" + "W" to spread all running windows I only see the applications that are not minimized and the others are just nothing as seen on picture below. I have 5 applications running and 3 of them are minimized and this is how it looks: How to fix this? I don't know if this is a bug or if this is normal, but i don't like it this way UPDATE: Just found out that it actually only happens when i use "Super" + "D" to minimize all windows, and then when opening some of them up again it will happen

• Bash command history not working

  The command history between sessions is not getting saved. I'm using guake and the history for the session is working fine. I noticed that .bash_history had some commands I executed in sudo -s mode and tried the same again and all the commands while in the session got saved so I tried chmod 777 .bash_history Now the old commands appear at the start of a session but no new commands are getting saved Thanx in advance

• Can not connect to wireless on 12.04 with Intel WiFi Link 5100

  I am having problem in connecting to wifi. I have dual boot (Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04) on my Dell Studio 15. I upgraded to 12.04 quite some time ago (at least one month) from 11.10. Everything was working fine till yesterday. Since yesterday I can see the list of available Wifi connection but does not connect to any or if connects (after hours of trying) then disconnects after few minutes. My wifi interface is Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN. However the problem is on both Windows and Ubuntu. • Swap is encrypted or not?

  I selected to encrypt home folder while install lubuntu 12.10 (64 bit) But after that 'sometimes' I get error that can not find /dev/mapper/cryptswap1 wait for mount or cancel at slpash screen. It then start the lubuntu without any problem. If i do sudo blkid | grep swap [sudo] password for abhijit: /dev/mapper/cryptswap1: UUID="fce3ef14-a9c6-45ac-81f5-18ff415851b0" TYPE="swap" That means swap is encrypted. But if i go to gparted it shows unknown partition with red exclamation mark for swap.

• Microphone not capturing sound on 12.04 Lenovo G580

  In both Skype and the Sound Recorder application, I am not capturing any audio from my built-in microphone. I'm not sure why. Otherwise, sound output is working well. I have tried running gstreamer-properties and setting the Default Input plugin to PulseAUdio as well (to match the output), and it didn't help. I have tried running alsamixer -V all and I only get 2 input-related entries: Capture(L R) which is on 100 and not muted (can't be either), and Analog Mic Boost which is on 20db. Extra info: Camera (video) is working well on Skype and Kamerka. • Credentials Not Passed From SharePoint WebPart to WCF Service

  I have spent several hours trying to resolve this problem, so I wanted to share my findings in case someone else might have the same problem. I had a web part which was calling out to a WCF service on another server to get some data. The code I had was essentially using System.ServiceModel; using System.ServiceModel.Channels; ... var binding = new CustomBinding( new HttpTransportBindingElement { AuthenticationScheme = System.Net.AuthenticationSchemes.Negotiate } ); var endpoint = new EndpointAddress(new Uri("http://someotherserver/someotherservice.svc")); var someOtherService = new SomeOtherServiceClient(binding, endpoint); string result = someOtherService.SomeServiceMethod(); This code would run fine on my local instance of SharePoint 2010 (Windows 7 64-bit). However, when I would deploy it to the testing environment, I would get a yellow screen of death  with the following message: The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Negotiate'. The authentication header received from the server was 'Negotiate,NTLM'. I then went through the usual checklist of Windows Authentication problems: Check WCF bindings to make sure authentication is set correctly Check IIS to make sure Windows Authentication is enabled and anonymous authentication was disabled. Check to make sure the SharePoint server trusted the server hosting the WCF service Verify that the account that the IIS application pool is running under has access to the other server I then spend lot of time digging into really obscure IIS, machine.config, and trust settings (as well of lots of time on Google and StackOverflow). Eventually I stumbled upon a blog post by Todd Bleeker describing how to run code under the application pool identity. Wait, what? The code is not already running under application pool identity? Another quick Google search led me to an MSDN page that imply that SharePoint indeed does not run under the app pool credentials by default. Instead SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges is needed to run code under the app pool identity. • Picture rendered from above and below using an Orthographic camera do not match

  I'm using an orthographic camera to render slices of a model (in order to voxelize it). I render each slice both from above and below in order to determine what is inside each slice. I am using an orthographic camera The model I render is a simple 'T' shape constructed from two cubes. The cubes have the same dimensions and have the same Y (height) coordinate. See figure 1 for a render of it in Blender. I render this model once directly from above and once directly from below. My expectation was that I would get exactly the same image (except for mirroring over the y-axis). However when I render using a very low resolution render target (25x25) the position (in pixels) of the 'T' is different when rendered from above as opposed to rendered from below. See figure 2 and 3. The pink blocks are not part of the original rendering but I've added them so you can easily count/see the differences. Figure 2: the T rendered from above Figure 3: the T rendered from below This is probably due to what I've read about pixel and texel coordinates which might be biased to the top-left as seen from the camera. Since I'm using the same 'up' vector for both of my camera's my bias only shows on the x-axis. I've tried to change the position of the camera and it's look-at by, what I thought, should be half a pixel. I've tried both shifting a single camera and shifting both cameras and while I see some effect I am not able to get a pixel-by-pixel perfect copy from both camera's. Here I initialize the camera and compute, what I believe to be, half pixel. boundsDimX and boundsDimZ is a slightly enlarged bounding box around the model which I also use as the width and height of the view volume of the orthographic camera. • Thumbnails for certain formats not appearing in Nautilus

  The following formats do not have an icon in Nautilus: .odt .odb And, some of my older documents are missing their thumbnails, all of which are either .odt or .odp. I just purged and reinstalled LibreOffice today...could this be the reason why? Edit: Sorry about my vagueness I am on Ubuntu 11.10, using LibreOffice 3.4 340m1(Build:402) that comes by default in the repos. Here's a screenshot of what I see for these formats.

• Not able to change flash settings

  My Gnome crashes constantly when I open web pages containing flash so I tried to turn off the hardware acceleration. I opened the Adobe flash player settings panel but found that the buttons are not clickable. I can still switch between display/privacy/storage.. panels using TAB and ENTER key. But for others like the "Enable hardware acceleration" checkbox this won't work. Anyone knows how to solve it? Thanks.

• Prompt not working when logged in as specific user

  Hello I am running ubuntu 11.10 and access it via ssh with putty. My problem is that when I log in I get the prompt [email protected]:~$ and my arrow keys do what the y are supposed to. When I try to login in as another user account I made all I get is this as the prompt it never says the directory or anyting $ Also when ever I try to use the left, right, up or down arrow I get a character like this ^[[A Is this a bug in putty or did I just not set the account up right?

• Dependency not satisfiable - Offline deb package install

  I have a new installation that has no chance of an internet connection. Since I want to add a few development software packages, I downloaded a few *.deb files. The problem is that for every package I try to install I get the same error: "Dependency not satisfiable...." Also downloaded other versions of that software (the deb files) but it didn't work. I've researched other questions in here and Google and I haven't been able to solve this yet.
