  I would like to apply some sort of IoC, with debugee code, i.e. the current HTML document, and the debugger, Firebug. It would be great to have some sort of document that asks Firebug to open a push channel from the document, versus the more common scenario of the debugger pulling information from the debugee document.   I have a set field in my db that is longtext. I have used prices in this field and cannot change the field type to integer. In my query however I need to sort by these fields and assume I should treat them as an integer. is there another way to query these results to sort by price as an integer and not longtext without having to change the field type? at the moment 3900000 is smaller than 4300 in my result set.

  Hello, i need to build the same source tree twice, 1 - with normal cflags to build the project binary 2 - with cflags plus -fPIC to build a static library that would be some sort of SDK to develop project dynamic modules. Using only one Makefile, what is the best approach to accomplish this? It would be nice to do some sort of : all: $(OBJECTS) lib_rule: $(OBJECTS) CFLAGS += -fPIC .cpp.o: $(CC) -c $< -o $@ $(CFLAGS) But obviously it can't be done. Thanks

They could move themselves around the arena, look for opponents in different directions, and fire some sort of weapon. Pretty basic stuff, but I remember it quite fondly, even if I can't remember the name. Are there any good modern day equivalents?

• Can I reuse my existing TCP-Server?

  At the moment I have an existing application which basically consists of a desktop GUI and a TCP server. The client connects to the server, and the server notifies the client if something interesting happens. Now I'm supposed to replace the desktop GUI by a web GUI, and I'm wondering if I have to rewrite the server to send http packets instead of tcp packets or if I can somehow use some sort of proxy to grab the tcp packets and forward them to the web client? Do I need some sort of comet server?

• Drupal 6 CCK - Having a textbox appear when 'Other' is selected

  I have a special content-type that I have created, and one of the fields is a radio button list. The last element is named 'Other' and I would like to have a textbox appear and allow the user to enter in a non-defined value. Is this sort of capability provided by any sort of module, or is this something that needs to be coded by hand? (If so, would you mind pointing me in the correct direction?)

  I'm currently trying to disable the nested sorting, as it does not pass the parameters for the nested sort to the store url (only the first sorted column gets passed over). I tried to set "nestedSorting: false" in the grid setup (programmatically), but the sorting is still being showed in the grid headers. Isn't it possible to disable the nested sort?

  I'm having problems with a Joomla install (problem exists in both 1.5.13 and 1.5.15) that won't order articles in a category or section blog layout. I've tried setting the sort order on the layout manually to all the different sort options but it has no effect. Ordering on the front page works fine. Any ideas?

  I am using a list to keep track of a number of custom Row objects as follows: Public Rows As List(Of Row)() Row has 2 properties, Key (a String) and Cells (an ArrayList). I need to be able to sort each Row within Rows based on a developer defined index of the Cells ArrayList. So for example based on the following Rows Row1.Cells = ("b", "12") Row2.Cells = ("a", "23") Rows.Sort(0) would result in Row2 being first in the Rows list. I say 'sort of', because the class needs to be able to run whatever function the test class is able to run, but NOT run the construct unless I ask it to. I do not want to override the construct. Is there any way of obtaining memory available to the JVM at runtime such that I could use in place sorting as much as possible, and only switch to Mergesort when data input is too large?
