  • What decryption should i use between my Android app and ASP.NET Webservice?

    I am searching a good way to encrypt and decrypt user authentication data between my Android app and my ASP.NET Webservice built in C#. I want to do a user registration on my Android app and send the authentication to the back-end server that is a ASP.NET Webservice built in C# and then every time the app calls the webservice it should send a hashed string with authentication information so webservice now what user it is. What is the best practice for this and have i missed something, give me some ideas please!

  • Why does (360 / 24) / 60 = 0 ... in Java

    I am trying to compute (360 / 24) / 60 I keep getting the answer 0.0 when I should get 0.25 In words: I want to divide 360 by 24 and then divide the result by 60 public class Divide { public static void main(String[] args){ float div = ((360 / 24) / 60); System.out.println(div); } } This prints out: 0.0 Why is that? Am I doing something really stupid, or is there a good reason for this

    Hey! Has anybody used a good obfuscator for PHP?, I've tried some but they dont work for very big projects. They can't handle variables that are included in one file and used in another, for instance. Or do you have any other tricks for stopping the spread of your great code? :)

  • Mipmapping issue with textures rendered on to a flat quad (OpenGL)

    I am having what seems to be a mipmapping problem when rendering textures on to a flat quad. At some camera positions the object looks fine, but then at others it gets very fuzzy. Unfortunately I don't really have any good leads on this problem but I thought if I posted some pictures other who have experiences other issue might be able to give me some insight. Normal: Zoomed Out: Rotated: Could anyone give me any clues about what could be going on here?

  • PHP array performance

    Hi, this is my first question on Stackoverflow, please bear with me. I'm testing an algorithm for 2d bin packing and I've chosen PHP to mock it up as it's my bread-and-butter language nowadays. As you can see on http://themworks.com/pack_v0.2/oopack.php?ol=1 it works pretty well, but you need to wait around 10-20 seconds for 100 rectangles to pack. For some hard to handle sets it would hit the php's 30s runtime limit. I did some profiling and it shows that most of the time my script goes through different parts of a small 2d array with 0's and 1's in it. It either checks if certain cell equals to 0/1 or sets it to 0/1. It can do such operations million times and each times it takes few microseconds. I guess I could use an array of booleans in a statically typed language and things would be faster. Or even make an array of 1 bit values. I'm thinking of converting the whole thing to some compiled language. Is PHP just not good for it? If I do need to convert it to let's say C++, how good are the automatic converters? My script is just a lot of for loops with basic arrays and objects manipulations. Thank you! Edit. This function gets called more than any other.     Ok SO, I have a user table and want to define groups of users together. The best solution I have for this is to create three database tables as follows: UserTable user_id user_name UserGroupLink group_id member_id GroupInfo group_id group_name This method keeps the member and group information separate. This is just my way of thinking. Is there a better way to do this? Also, what is a good naming convention for tables that link two other tables?
