  • PHP question about global variables and form requests

    Hi, This is probably a stupid question but will ask anyway sine I have no idea. I have written basic php code which serve forms. Say I have a login page and I serve it using the login.php page and it will be called in the login.html page like this - <form action="login.php" method="post"> By this it is also implied that every POST needs its own php file, doesn't it? This kind of feels weird. Is there a way to have a single file, say code.php, and just have each of the forms as functions instead? EDIT: Specifically, say I have 5 forms that are used one after the other in my application. Say after login the user does A, B, C and D tasks each of which are sent to the server as a POST request. So instead of having A.php, B.php, C.php and D.php I would like to have a single code.php and have A(), B(), C() and D() as functions. Is there a way to do this? Also on the same note, how do I deal with say a global array (e.g. an array of currently logged in users) across multiple forms? I want to do this without writing to a DB. I know its probably better to write to a DB and query but is it even possible to do it with a global array? The reason I was thinking about having all the form functions in one file is to use a global array. Thanks, - Pav

  • Make a form not focusable in C#

    Hi! I'm wanting to write a virtual keyboard, like windows onscreen keyboard for touchscreen pcs. But I'm having problem with my virtual keyboard stealing the focus from the application being used. The windows onscreen keyboard mantains the focus on the current application even when the user clicks on it. Is there a way to do the same with windows forms in C#? The only thing I can do for now is to send a keyboard event to an especific application, like notepad in the following code. If I could make the form not focusable, I could get the current focused window with GetForegroundWindow.   • How To Call Javascript In Ajax Response? IE: Close a form div upon success...

    I have a form that when you submit it, it sends the data for validation to another php script via ajax. Validation errors are echo'd back in a div in my form. A success message also is returned if validation passes. The problem is that the form is still displayed after submit and successful validation. I want to hid the div after success. So, I wrote this simple CSS method which works fine when called from the page the form is displayed on. The problem is that I cannot seem to call the hide script via returned code. I can return html like echo "<p>Thanks, your form passed validation and is being sent</p>"; So I assumed I could simply echo another line after that echo "window.onload=displayDiv()"; inside script tags (which I cannot get to display here)... and that it would hide the form div. It does not work. I am assuming that the problem is that the javascript is being returned incorrectly and not being interpreted by the browser... How can I invoke my 'hide' script on the page via returned data from my validation script? I can echo back text but the script call is ineffective. Thanks! This is the script on the page with the form...   • .NET HttpModule does not send form variables to PHP file on RewritePath()

    Hello friends. We have an application running on IIS 6 which uses a custom HttpModule to rewrite urls. This works great (well done us) except in the case where the Context.RewritePath destination is a .php file. The php file is executed as expected, however the $_POST collection is empty meaning it cannot access any forms which are submitted to rewritten urls. The problem does not exist when rewriting to .aspx files as the Request.Form collection is fine. My question therefore has two parts: Why is the $_POST collection not being populated? Is there a way to ensure that the .php $_POST collection is correctly populated after a rewrite? I don't have much to show in the way of code. There's just a simple: context.RewritePath(newPath); once the HttpModule has figured out where to send the request. Edit: Interestingly, if I do var_dump(file_get_contents('php://input')); in the PHP file (method described here) the contents of the form is displayed. So the data is reaching the PHP script but not the $_POST array.

  • How do I stop Chrome from yellowing my site's input boxes?

    Among other text and visual aids on a form submission, post-validation, I'm coloring my input boxes red to signify the interactive area needing attention. On Chrome (and for Google Toolbar users) the auto-fill feature re-colors my input forms yellow. Here's the complex issue: I want auto-complete allowed on my forms, as it speeds users logging in. I am going to check into the ability to turn the autocomplete attribute to off if/when there's an error triggered, but it is a complex bit of coding to programmatically turn off the auto-complete for the single effected input on a page. This, to put it simply, would be a major headache. So to try to avoid that issue, is there any simpler method of stopping Chrome from re-coloring the input boxes? [edit] I tried the !important suggestion below and it had no effect. I have not yet checked Google Toolbar to see if the !important attribute woudl work for that. As far as I can tell, there isn't any means other than using the autocomplete attribute (which does appear to work).

  • Livevalidation: only validate when default value is changed

    Hello there! I am validating my html form with livevalidation and everything works great except for one feature. I have a input field with a default value age, I only want the livevalidation to validate when it says something other than "age". so maybe the user will type in 20 then the validation will fire checking its things but if left as "age" it won't check it all. But as of now, it just checks everything with a validation script and this is a problem for me as I have lots of fields in my form and some of them are optional so when I hit submit, the livevalidation checks the age field as well even if the user didnt touch it to begin with. Would this be possible with livevalidation ? Thanks for the help.

    Can anyone tell me how to show animated progress bar while the data from an Excel sheet to a SQL database table is being transfered? I have a form in .aspx page. In that form, there is one FileUpload control that uploads an Excel file. While uploading that file and saving it on the server at the same time I'm transferring the data from the Excel sheet to a SQL table. During this transfer, I want to show a ProgressBar and after transferring all data it will be removed automatically.. Is there something I can do to achieve this?

    Yes hello today I discovered a hack for my site. When you write a msg on a users wall (in my communitysite) it runs a ajax call, to insert the msg to the db and will then on success slide down and show it. Works fine with no problem. So I was rethinking alittle, I am using POST methods for this and if it was GET method you could easily do ?msg=haxmsg&usr=12345679. But what could you do to come around the POST method? I made a new html document, made a form and on action i set "site.com/insertwall.php" (the file that normally are being used in ajax), i made some input fields with names exactly like i am doing with the ajaxcall (msg, uID (userid), BuID (by userid) ) and made a submit button. I know I have a page_protect() function on which requires you to login and if you arent you will be header to index.php. So i logged in (started session on my site.com) and then I pressed on this submit button. And then wops I saw on my site that it has made a new message. I was like wow, was it so easy to hijack POST method i thought maybe it was little more secure or something. I would like to know what could I do to prevent this hijacking? As i wouldnt even want to know what real hackers could do with this "hole". The page_protect secures that the sessions are from the same http user agent and so, and this works fine (tried to run the form without logging in, and it just headers me to startpage) but yea wouldnt take long time to figure out to log in first and then run it. Any advices are appreciated alot. I would like to keep my ajax calls most secure as possible and all of them are running on the POST method. What could I do to the insertwall.php, to check that it comes from the server or something.. Thank you

    I have a pivot table that shows how many condoms have been handed out and on how many distinct occasions. So the value in the pivot table is a number between 1 and 30 (no. of condoms handed out at one specific occasion) and then I can see – for each month – how many times that happened. For example, three times, two condoms were given out, four times, one condom was given out, et cetera. The total is set on Count and it shows the total of how many times condoms have been given out. However, in the total I want it to show the sum of all the condoms that been given out each month – is it possible to change this somehow?

    I can't believe I'm having to ask this, but I'm at my wit's end. I'm trying to display 2 form fields inline, but with the label for each field on the top. A solution based on duplicating the parent POM and/or the profile defined inside it is not a good one. Since if the responsible of the parent POM change something, I would have to report it in mine. It's just an inheritance matter (extend or override a profile, a configuration from an upper-level POM) so I think it should be possible with maven2.

    Suppose I have a label control on a windows form called "UserName". How can I refer to that label programmatically using the label name? For example I can do: For each ctrl as Control in TabPage.Controls If ctrl.Name = "UserName" Then ' Do something End If Next This seems quite inefficient. I would like to do something like: TabPage.Controls("UserName").Text = "Something" I did some googling but couldn't find a satisfactory answer. Most suggested looping, some said .NET 2005 doesn't support direct refenece using string name, and FindControl method was asp.net only... EDIT Thanks for the response so far. Here is a bit more detail. I have a windows form with three tabpages, all of which a very similar in design and function i.e. same drop down menus, labels, react in simlar way to events etc. Rather than write code for each event per tabpage I have built a class that controls the events etc. per tabpage. For example, on each tabpage there is a Label called "RecordCounter" that simply shows the number of rows in the datagridview when it is populated by selection of a variable in a drop down menu. So what I want to be able to do is, upon selection of a variable in the drop down menu, the datagridview populates itself with data, and then I simply want to display the number of rows in a label ("RecordCounter"). This is exactly the same process on each tabpage so what I am doing is passing the tabpage to the class and then I want to be able to refer to the "RecordCounter" and then update it. In my class I set the ActivePage property to be the TabPage that the user has selected and then want to be able to do something like: ActivePage.RecordCounter.Text = GetNumberOfRows()

  • Query distinct list of choices for Django form with App Engine Datastore

    I've been trying to figure this out for hours across a couple of days, and can not get it to work. I've been everywhere. I'll continue trying to figure it out, but was hoping for a quicker solution. I'm using App Engine datastore + Django. Using a query in a view and custom forms, I was able to get a list to the form but then I was not able to post. I have been trying to figure out how to dynamically add the choices as part of the Django form... I've tried various ways with no success. Help! Below are the two models. I'd like to get a distinct list of address_id to show in the location field in InfoForm.   • How do I write a Photoshop Extension (8BX) plugin?

    The Adobe Photoshop CS3/4 SDk has a lot of examples for Filter, Import, Export etc plugins but I havent found anything that illustrates how to write a 8BX plugin. Reason I need to write one is to add a new drop down menu to the Photoshop root toolbar (where it displays File, Edit, Image .. Window. Help drop down menus). I have seen product like OneSoftware install an 8BX plugin into Adobe Photoshop CS3\Plug-Ins\Extensions directory that causes PS to add adrop down menu for OneSoft. That suggest this is a solvable problem :-) I tried by changing an existing plugin in the SDlK samples but no go. Specifically i modified the resource file: resource 'PiPL' (ResourceID, plugInName " PiPL", purgeable) { { Kind { **Extension** }, Name { plugInName "..." }, ... Despite using the Extension Kind , PS never loads the plugin. It doesnt generate any compile time or load error either. Anyone has ideas on how to go about doing this ? Thanks

  • in jqgrid, how can i have the editform disappear after submit

    right now, when i click submit it sends a message to the server and updates the databased and refreshes the screen but it keeps the edit form popup on the screen.   • form target iframe not working in IE7- in facebook fan tab

    This issue is similar to the one discussed in this thread, only mine is in a Facebook fan page tab (FBML/FBJS). The fix described in the referenced question works fine outside of Facebook, but for whatever reason I can't get it to work in the posted FBJS. Even by manually setting the name (document.getElementbyId('testframe').setName('testframe') fails to work the way it would outside of Facebook.     Im trying to make part of my form/questionnaire appears when hover on image and stay active untill hover another image next to it. and repeat it on 7 images. Of course I need the cheched checkboxes to stay after they'll be hidden so you can come back to them by hover the image and for ex. correct answers and so on..   • Selecting Date Range on a PHP form and displaying results from MySQL database

    This may be something simple but I cant understand why this wouldn't work.. I have a php form where you can select a date range from drop downs. I've given the field names day, month year, and day1, month1, year1. When clicking submit it takes you to a second php form.   • C#: HTTPWebResponse using application/x-www-form-urlencoded

    So I sent an HTTPWebRequest using application/x-www-form-urlencoded as my content type. I assume that this means the reponse will be returned in a similar type? (EDIT: Have now been told this isn't the case) My question is this. How do I access the different key/value pairs returned in the response. My code so far looks like this. I can of course read the string but surely there is a better way to access the data other than ripping the string apart. HttpWebResponse response = SendPOSTRequest("https://site/page?Service=foo", content.ToString(), "", "", true); string responseCode = response.StatusCode.ToString(); string responseStatusDescription = response.StatusDescription; StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream()); string result = sr.ReadToEnd(); I tried using XML/linq to read the elements into an XDocument but of course it is not being returned in XML form. Assume I have 3 or 4 different pieces of information in there how could I read them out? EDIT: I have just checked and the data is being returned as text/plain. How can this be processed easily? EDIT: The response string once retrieved via a streamreader is: VPSProtocol=2.23 Status=OK StatusDetail=Server transaction registered successfully.   • Ruby on Rails - pass variable to nested form

    I am trying to build a multilingual site using Rails, but I can't figure out how to pass variable to nested form. Right now I am creating nested form like this. @languages.each do @article.article_locale.build(:language_id => language.id) end But i would like to pass value of language to it so i can distinguish fields. Something like this. @languages.each do |language| @language = language @article.article_locale.build(:language_id => language.id) end However, I always end up with language of the last loop iteration. Any way to pass this variable? -- edit -- In the end, since I've got no answer I have solved this problem so it, at least, works as it should. Following code is my partial solution. In model: def self.languages Language.all end def self.language_name language = [] self.languages.each_with_index do |lang, i| language[i] = lang.longname end return language end In Controller: def new @article = Article.new Article.languages.each do |language| @article.article_locale.build(:language_id => language.id) end end In HAML View: -count = 0 -f.fields_for :article_locale do |al| %h3= Article.language_name[count] -count+=1 -field_set_tag do %p =al.label :name, t(:name) =al.text_field :name %p =al.label :description, t(:description) =al.text_area :description =al.hidden_field :language_id It's not the most elegant solution I suppose, but it works.
