  • calling std::cout.rdbuf() produces syntax error

    - by Mikepote
    Maybe I missed something, but I cant figure out why Visual Studio 2008 isn't seeing the rdbuf() procedure. Here is my code: 16. #include "DebugBuffer/BufferedStringBuf.h" 17. 18. BufferedStringBuf debug_buffer(256); 19. std::cout.rdbuf(&debug_buffer); The BufferedStringBuf class is from this page: http://www.devmaster.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7037 Which produces the following error: ...src\main.cpp(19) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before '.' All I want to do is redirect std::cout to the Visual Studio Output window using OutputDebugString()..

  • How to exclude rows where matching join is in an SQL tree

    - by Greg K
    Sorry for the poor title, I couldn't think how to concisely describe this problem. I have a set of items that should have a 1-to-1 relationship with an attribute. I have a query to return those rows where the data is wrong and this relationship has been broken (1-to-many). I'm gathering these rows to fix them and restore this 1-to-1 relationship. This is a theoretical simplification of my actual problem but I'll post example table schema here as it was requested. item table: +------------+------------+-----------+ | item_id | name | attr_id | +------------+------------+-----------+ | 1 | BMW 320d | 20 | | 1 | BMW 320d | 21 | | 2 | BMW 335i | 23 | | 2 | BMW 335i | 34 | +------------+------------+-----------+ attribute table: +---------+-----------------+------------+ | attr_id | value | parent_id | +---------+-----------------+------------+ | 20 | SE | 21 | | 21 | M Sport | 0 | | 23 | AC | 24 | | 24 | Climate control | 0 | .... | 34 | Leather seats | 0 | +---------+-----------------+------------+ A simple query to return items with more than one attribute. SELECT item_id, COUNT(DISTINCT(attr_id)) AS attributes FROM item GROUP BY item_id HAVING attributes > 1 This gets me a result set like so: +-----------+------------+ | item_id | attributes | +-----------+------------+ | 1 | 2 | | 2 | 2 | | 3 | 2 | -- etc. -- However, there's an exception. The attribute table can hold a tree structure, via parent links in the table. For certain rows, parent_id can hold the ID of another attribute. There's only one level to this tree. Example: +---------+-----------------+------------+ | attr_id | value | parent_id | +---------+-----------------+------------+ | 20 | SE | 21 | | 21 | M Sport | 0 | .... I do not want to retrieve items in my original query where, for a pair of associated attributes, they related like attributes 20 & 21. I do want to retrieve items where: the attributes have no parent for two or more attributes they are not related (e.g. attributes 23 & 34) Example result desired, just the item ID: +------------+ | item_id | +------------+ | 2 | +------------+ How can I join against attributes from items and exclude these rows? Do I use a temporary table or can I achieve this from a single query? Thanks.

  • Can I do this with just SQL?

    - by Josh
    At the moment I have two tables, products and options. Products contains id title description Options contains id product_id sku title Sample data may be: Products id: 1 title: 'test' description: 'my description' Options id: 1 product_id: 1 sku: 1001 title: 'red' id: 2 product_id: 1 sku: 1002 title: 'blue' I need to display each item, with each different option. At the moment, I select the rows in products and iterate through them, and for each one select the appropriate rows from options. I then create an array, similar to: [product_title] = 'test'; [description] = 'my description'; [options][] = 1, 1001, 'red'; [options][] = 2, 1002, 'blue'; Is there a better way to do this with just sql (I'm using codeigniter, and would ideally like to use the Active Record class)?

  • Using sqlalchemy to query using multiple column where in clause

    - by crunkchitis
    I'm looking to execute this query using sqlalchemy. SELECT name, age, favorite_color, favorite_food FROM kindergarten_classroom WHERE (favorite_color, favorite_food) IN (('lavender','lentil soup'),('black','carrot juice')); I only want kids that like (lavender AND lentil soup) OR (black and carrot juice). This is similar, but doesn't get me all of the way there: Sqlalchemy in clause

  • Magento - Data is not inserted into database, but the id is autoincremented

    - by Joseph
    I am working on a new payment module for Magento and have come across an issue that I cannot explain. The following code that runs after the credit card is verified: $table_prefix = Mage::getConfig()->getTablePrefix(); $tableName = $table_prefix.'authorizecim_magento_id_link'; $resource = Mage::getSingleton('core/resource'); $writeconnection = $resource->getConnection('core_write'); $acPI = $this->_an_customerProfileId; $acAI = $this->_an_customerAddressId; $acPPI = $this->_an_customerPaymentProfileId; $sql = "insert into {$tableName} values ('', '$customerId', '$acPI', '$acPI', '3')"; $writeconnection->query($sql); $sql = "insert into {$tableName} (magCID, anCID, anOID, anObjectType) values ('$customerId', '$acPI', '$acAI', '2')"; $writeconnection->query($sql); $sql = "insert into {$tableName} (magCID, anCID, anOID, anObjectType) values ('$customerId', '$acPI', '$acPPI', '1')"; $writeconnection->query($sql); I have verified using Firebug and FirePHP that the SQL queries are syntactically correct and no errors are returned. The odd thing here is that I have checked the database, and the autoincrement value is incremented on every run of the code. However, no rows are inserted in the database. I have verified this by adding a die(); statement directly after the first write. Any ideas why this would be occuring? The relative portion of the config.xml is this: <config> <global> <models> <authorizecim> <class>CPAP_AuthorizeCim_Model</class> </authorizecim> <authorizecim_mysql4> <class>CPAP_AuthorizeCim_Model_Mysql4</class> <entities> <anlink> <table>authorizecim_magento_id_link</table> </anlink> </entities> <entities> <antypes> <table>authorizecim_magento_types</table> </antypes> </entities> </authorizecim_mysql4> </models> <resources> <authorizecim_setup> <setup> <module>CPAP_AuthorizeCim</module> <class>CPAP_AuthorizeCim_Model_Resource_Mysql4_Setup</class> </setup> <connection> <use>core_setup</use> </connection> </authorizecim_setup> <authorizecim_write> <connection> <use>core_write</use> </connection> </authorizecim_write> <authorizecim_read> <connection> <use>core_read</use> </connection> </authorizecim_read> </resources> </global> </config>

  • why is there extra using where in execution plan of query

    - by user366534
    I see plan of query: EXPLAIN SELECT * FROM `subscribers` WHERE state =4 AND date_added < '2010-12-23 11:47:45' It shows: id select_type table type possible_keys key key_len ref rows Extra 1 SIMPLE subscribers range state_date_added state_date_added 9 NULL 8 Using where Here is indexes of table: Table Non_unique Key_name Seq_in_index Column_name Collation Cardinality Sub_part Packed Null Index_type Comment subscribers 0 PRIMARY 1 subscriber_id A 382039 NULL NULL BTREE subscribers 0 email_list_id 1 email_address A 191019 NULL NULL BTREE subscribers 0 email_list_id 2 list_id A 382039 NULL NULL BTREE subscribers 1 FK_list_id 1 list_id A 10 NULL NULL BTREE subscribers 1 state_date_added 1 state A 12 NULL NULL BTREE subscribers 1 state_date_added 2 date_added A 8128 NULL NULL BTREE The last two lines describes index what is supposed for the query. Why is there in extra column using where? Even If I fetch only state and date_added column, it has in extra column: Using where; Using index. I understand why it has using index, but I don't understand Using where here.

  • What regular expression(s) would I use to remove escaped html from large sets of data.

    - by Elizabeth Buckwalter
    Our database is filled with articles retrieved from RSS feeds. I was unsure of what data I would be getting, and how much filtering was already setup (WP-O-Matic Wordpress plugin using the SimplePie library). This plugin does some basic encoding before insertion using Wordpress's built in post insert function which also does some filtering. I've figured out most of the filters before insertion, but now I have whacko data that I need to remove. This is an example of whacko data that I have data in one field which the content I want in the front, but this part removed which is at the end: <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?i=xFxEpT2Add0:xFbIkwGc-fk:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"></img> <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"></img> &lt;img src=&quot;http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/SoundOnTheSound?i=xFxEpT2Add0:xFbIkwGc-fk:D7DqB2pKExk&quot; Notice how some of the images are escape and some aren't. I believe this has to do with the last part being cut off so as to be unrecognizable as an html tag, which then caused it to be html endcoded. Another field has only this which is now filtered before insertion, but I have to get rid of the others: &lt;img src=&quot;http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2183/2289902369_1d95bcdb85.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;post_img&quot; width=&quot;80&quot; (all examples are on one line, but broken up for readability) Question: What is the best way to work with the above escaped html (or portion of an html tag)? I can do it in Perl, PHP, SQL, Ruby, and even Python. I believe Perl to be the best at text parsing, so that's why I used the Perl tag. And PHP times out on large database operations, so that's pretty much out unless I wanted to do batch processing and what not. PS One of the nice things about using Wordpress's insert post function, is that if you use php's strip_tags function to strip out all html, insert post function will insert <p> at the paragraph points. Let me know if there's anything more that I can answer. Some article that didn't quite answer my questions. (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2016751/remove-text-from-within-a-database-text-field) (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/462831/regular-expression-to-escape-html-ampersands-while-respecting-cdata)

  • What are the best practices for storing PHP session data in a database?

    - by undefined
    I have developed a web application that uses a web server and database hosted by a web host (on the ground) and a server running on Amazon Web Services EC2. Both servers may be used by a user during a session and both will need to know some session information about a user. I don't want to POST the information that is needed by both servers because I dont want it to be visible to browsers / Firebug etc. So I need my session data to persist across servers. And I think that this means that the best option is to store all / some of the data that I need in the database rather than in a session. The easiest thing to do seems to be to keep the sessions but to POST the session_id between servers and use this as the key to lookup the data I need from a 'user_session_data' table in the database. I have looked at Tony Marston's article "Saving PHP Session Data to a database" - should I use this or will a table with the session data that I need and session_id as key suffice? What would be the downside of creating my own table and set of methods for storing the data I need in the database?

  • database change after pressing 'X' button

    - by Anup Prakash
    What i know:- We can use Ajax to change database from javascript. So whenever we press the 'X' button on title bar it calls "onbeforeunload" event. And by this event we can change the database. But in my case, i want to change the status of user only when user click on 'X' button. Not in case of changing the page. As because changing the page is unloading the page. and closing the page is also unloading the page(As much i know). Is there any way to differentiate between closing the page and moving from one page to other page? I want to use it for changing the status of user(i.e. login/logout), whenever he presses cross button. I don't want to set status "logout" when user changes the page. I want to set status "logout" when user 'X' the button. Plese help me.

  • White Label Ecommerce app. Shared or Individual dbs

    - by MetaDan
    Currently I'm working with an in house white label cms that we resell to multiple clients and it all runs from the same box/db. I'm just looking at converting this to have an ecommerce version that we'll run alongside it. I'm wondering whether there will be an issue keeping all the products/categories/orders in one db or whether it would be advisory to separate each instance of the site into its own db for this. These white label instances will only be sold to smaller companies that probably wont have masses of traffic/products and are looking for a simple ecommerce site. Anything larger will definitely get its own hosting and db. But for smaller scale stuff do you think a single db will be ok?

  • How to make an id auto_increment from where it last left off after a record delete?

    - by Sammy
    This isn't that big of a deal but I was wondering if it can be done. Right now when I insert a new record, the id field which is auto_increment and set as primary key increases it's value by one: id | first_name | last_name ------------------------------ 1 | John | Smith 2 | Jane | Doe But if I delete record 2, the next one I insert is going to have an id of 3. Is there any way to make it have an id of 2 automatically (without having to manually insert it)?

  • PHP PDO fetch null

    - by Jacob
    How do you check if a columns value is null? Example code: $db = DBCxn::getCxn(); $sql = "SELECT exercise_id, author_id, submission, result, submission_time, total_rating_votes, total_rating_values FROM submissions LEFT OUTER JOIN submission_ratings ON submissions.exercise_id=submission_ratings.exercise_id WHERE id=:id"; $st = $db->prepare($sql); $st->bindParam(":id", $this->id, PDO::PARAM_INT); $st->execute(); $row = $st->fetch(); if($this->total_rating_votes == null) // this doesn't seem to work even though there is no record in submission_ratings???? { ... }
