  I set my wordpress permalink structure to /%postname%/ but now when I go to a page other than the home page (for example if I went to somelink.com/about) I lose all javascript references. I think this happens because the links to the js files are no longer right as it is in the imaginary folder "about".   How do you determine whether the content for the detail page being displayed is filled by a specific subreport? For example, consider two subreports on the same master report, using different detail bands: Detail 1 Detail 2 The header on the master report should show certain fields on pages where the subreport in the Detail 2 band is printed. A Return Value from the subreport in the Detail 2 band only seems to be set after the report has finished, even though the Reset type for the variable (in both the master and the subreport) is set to Page. (Setting it to Report also does not help.)

• Wordpress auto excerpts from post content?

  I'm trying to create an auto generated post excerpt from the current page's post content using a function in my theme's header file. The post excerpt will be used as the page's meta description. Can someone give me an idea of how you might go about this once you've got the post content into a string variable? The somewhat tricky part is that, in order to predict a viable stopping point for the post excerpt, I'd like to specify that the cutoff point be the end of the first paragraph of text. And for that reason, it does not make sense to load the entire post content into the string I'm using. Can I grab the first paragraph without having to load the entire post content string? And I'm not certain how to test for that in php. Would regex be the only way?

  Hi, I've been reading on the django docs about the comments framework and how to customize it (http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.1/ref/contrib/comments/custom/) In that page, it shows how to add new fields to a form. But what I want to do is to remove unnecesary fields, like URL, email (amongst other minor mods.) On that same doc page it says the way to go is to extend my custom comments class from BaseCommentAbstractModel, but that's pretty much it, I've come so far and now I'm at a loss. I couldn't find anything on this specific aspect.

• How to debug a corrupt pdf file?

  Hi, im generating pdf files using a ruby library called "prawn". I have one particular file that seems to be considered "Corrupt" by adobe reader. It shows up fine in both preview and in adobe reader. It gives errors like: Sometimes I get: "Could not find the XObject named '%s'. Othertimes I get: "Could not find the XObject named "Im4". Then always I get: "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem." Is there a way to open a pdf with some tool and have it tell you what is technically wrong with the pdf? Im sure I could figure it out quickly with something like this... thanks Joel

• Object does not support this propery or method IE & jQuery

  I am using jQuery and the cornerz plug in to get rounded corners on elements of the page without using images. In IE7 and 8 it fails and I get this error: "Object doesn't support this property or method" on this lines: if($.browser.msie && settings.fixIE) { var ow = $$.outerWidth(); var oh = $$.outerHeight(); Basically it complains about the outerWidth and outerHeight properties... The cornerz demo page (here) works perfectly on IE7 and 8 without throwing any error and it has got several examples...I do not know why this is happening Any suggestion will be appreciated Thanks in advance

  I'm trying to learn Drupal 6. I want to register the path '/topic' to a MENU_CALLBACK using hook_menu(). I remember I made this work by simply saying 'access' => TRUE in Drupal 5. No longer works in Drupal 6.

• I dont understand how Westpac Payway API and NET works

  Been googling all day, reading numerous pdf's and still getting confused with the concepts of sending data to Payway system from Westpac (bank in Australia, link text). They offer access via API but also give access via what they call NET. The way I understand is that when client want to pay on my website, in case of NET, client gets to the page (hosted by a bank or hosted by me) where is provided with form to enter credit card info details. Then this form is submitted via normal POST call to Payway's specific https address. It is processed then and browser returns to url I specified as one of the parameters I sent in hidden field. In case of API story is similar, so user receives form, fills in the data and then data is send to my backend (not Payway's). My backend then calls payway API with data provided and once answer received returns confirmation page to the client. Is my understanding right? Please explain as I have a feeling I am missing something basic here.

• Drupal: Multiple Stylesheets

  I'm currently creating a custom Drupal theme for my company and I'm having trouble getting multiple stylesheets to load. I followed the instructions on this page by adding stylesheets to the .info file in the format: stylesheets[all][] = style.css stylesheets[all][] = name2.css etc... However, when I load the page nothing changes and when I view source, it consistently lists style.css but seems to ignore the others. Am I misunderstood in the process of adding additional stylesheets? What could I be doing incorrectly? Thanks for any help!

• LINQ expression precedence with Skip(), Take() and OrderBy()

  I'm using LINQ to Entities and display paged results. But I'm having issues with the combination of Skip(), Take() and OrderBy() calls. Everything works fine, except that OrderBy() is assigned too late. It's executed after result set has been cut down by Skip() and Take(). So each page of results has items in order. But ordering is done on a page handful of data instead of ordering of the whole set and then limiting those records with Skip() and Take(). How do I set precedence with these statements?   I'm following the Kevin Skoglund tutorial Ruby on Rails 3 Essential Training, which was written for rails 3.0, though I am currently using 3.2. It uses the following method in the pages_controller with a before_filter to display only the pages which belong to the parent subject. The tutorial explicitly uses .find_by_id because if the result is nil it "will not return an error". However I get the "Called id for nil, which would mistakenly be 4 -- if you really wanted the id of nil, use object_id" error when trying to view a page where @subject has been set to nil. def find_subject if params[:subject_id] @subject = Subject.find_by_id(params[:subject_id]) end end The actual code that is causing the error is: def list @pages = Page.order("pages.position ASC").where(:subject_id => @subject.id) end Is this something that has changed since 3.0? If so, what would be the correct way to implement this functionality in 3.2?

  Im trying to make a simple survey in php I have a set of radio buttons on a page called sja.php that sends its to sjamail.php page the problem is that when i go to get $answer = $_POST['ans']; I can't seen to do anything like echo "$answer"; but if i were to throw some logic at it like if ($answer == "ans1") { echo 'Correct'; } else { echo 'Incorrect'; } IT will display correct or incorrect so why is it i can't access the value of the radio button ans?

The result of the get function appears to be successful because the value of textStatus (in the following code block) is "success".   How can I convert 2 tiff images to PDF, I already knows how to get the image out of the DB, and I print it using echo and setting up the MIME type. But, right know I need to use a duplex printer option, so I need a way to generate a PDF from inside my PHP page, that PDF must containt both TIFF images (one per page) How can I do that? What do I need for php to work with that library. Thank you very much. EDIT: Is a self hosted app, I own the server (actually I'm using WAMP 2). I extract the images from the MySQL DB (stored using LONGBLOBS).

  Hey, I'm having trouble with a custom control and adding it dynamically using JQuery. I've got the following code: $('.custom_control_div').replaceWith( "<div><cc:mycustomcontrol id='cControl' ></cc:mycustomcontrol></div>" ); This doesn't throw any errors, but doesn't work because I need to use runat=server in my custom control. However, if I add runat=server in the code above, no javascript is executed on the page (and jqueryUI no longer works). The custom control works fine when I add it directly to the page from design-time. Is there a way to add a control, with runat=server using Jquery? Thanks

• ASP.net MVC 2.0 using the same form for adding and editing.

  I would like to use the same view for editing a blog post and adding a blog post. However, I'm having an issue with the ID. When adding a blog post, I have no need for an ID value to be posted. When model binding binds the form values to the BlogPost object in the controller, it will auto-generate the ID in entity framework entity. When I am editing a blog post I DO need a hidden form field to store the ID in so that it accompanies the next form post. The problem comes in when there is an error and the entity is invalid. When the controller renders the form after an invalid model the Model != null evaluates to false, even though we are editing a post and there is clearly a model. If I render the hidden input field for ID when adding a post, I get an error stating that the ID can't be null. Any help is appreciated. EDIT: I went with OJ's answer for this question, however I discovered something that made me feel silly and I wanted to share it just in case anyone was having a similar issue. The page the adds/edits blogs does not even need a hidden field for id, ever. The reason is because when I go to add a blog I do a GET to this relative URL BlogProject/Admin/AddBlogPost This URL does not contain an ID and the action method just renders the page. The page does a POST to the same URL when adding the blog post. The incoming BlogPost entity has a null Id and is generated by EF during save changes. The same thing happens when I edit blog posts. The URL is BlogProject/Admin/EditBlogPost/{Id} This URL contains the id of the blog post and since the page is posting back to the exact same URL the id goes with the POST to the action method that executes the edit. The only problem I encountered with this is that the action methods cannot have identical signatures. [HttpGet] public ViewResult EditBlogPost(int Id) { } [HttpPost] public ViewResult EditBlogPost(int Id) { } The compiler will yell at you if you try to use these two methods above. It is far too convenient that the Id will be posted back when doing a Html.BeginForm() with no arguments for action or controller. So rather than change the name of the POST method I just modified the arguments to include a FormCollection. Like this: [HttpPost] public ViewResult EditBlogPost(int Id, FormCollection formCollection) { // You can then use formCollection as the IValueProvider for UpdateModel() // and TryUpdateModel() if you wish. I mean, you might as well use the // argument since you're taking it. } The formCollection variable is filled via model binding with the same content that Request.Form would be by default. You don't have to use this collection for UpdateModel() or TryUpdateModel() but I did just so I didn't feel like that collection was pointless since it really was just to make the method signature different from its GET counterpart. I plan to have a white list of safe tags and attributes as well as a whitelist of CSS tags and value regexes (to prevent automatic return receipt). I asked a question: Parse a badly formatted XML document (like an HTML file) I found there are many many ways to do this. Some systems have built in sanitizers (which I don't care so much about). I will post some answers and say Community Wiki. Please post any other options you like and say Community Wiki so they can be voted on. Also any comments or wiki edits on what part of a certain product is better and what is not would be greatly appreciated. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. Can any one let me know on where I am going wrong?

• Keep a div from reloading

  Basically, I want the same effect as the oldschool html 'frameset' I think. Take a look at this page please: http://onomadesign.com/wordpress/identity-design/alteon-a-boeing-company/ If a user selects a project from industry - transportation for example, I would like that the right scrollmenu keeps its initial state when the new project page comes up. So they won't get lost and have to click again to be in the same submenu section. So, the right thumbnail navigation should stay in the same way, I don't want it to reload. Do I have to do it with frames or iframes? Or can I make some kind of jQuery call to 'not reload' that div? Maybe PHP? I'm sorry, I am not a programmer from origin. Thanks in advance.

I found that its under "user_likes games". My problems are as follows: To gain access, I have implemented the oauth dialog method as suggested in API in my index page. $auth_url = "http://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth?client_id=" . $app_id . "&redirect_uri=" . urlencode($canvas_page) ."&scope=user_likes"; After successful authorization I come back to index page with "code" as parameters. http://MY_CANVAS_PAGE/?code=some base64 encoded letters Firstly I don't know if I need access_token just to read user's music interests but I have tried all the methods suggested. • jQuery 1.4.2 and IE6: change event not firing first time using keyboard

  I've done a good amount of research on this and found a bunch of reported problems and solutions but the general consensus seems that all change problems in IE6 were fixed in jQuery 1.4.2. I'm having an issue where a change event is not firing in jQuery 1.4.2, but it did fire successfully in jQuery 1.3.2. This is in IE6. I'm about to submit a bug for this, but for my sanity I wanted to post it here first to see if there's something dumb I'm missing. The page loads, the focus is in the drop down, you change the option, you get the alert. The problem is if you use the keyboard. The page loads, the focus is in the drop down, you press the down arrow. The option changes. Tab off the field, no alert. Weird. To make it even weirder, if you tab back into the field and change it again (all using the keyboard), the change event DOES fire after tab out this time. Any ideas?
