• Django Admin interface with pickled set

  I have a model that has a pickled set of strings. (It has to be pickled, because Django has no built in set field, right?) class Foo(models.Model): __bar = models.TextField(default=lambda: cPickle.dumps(set()), primary_key=True) def get_bar(self): return cPickle.loads(str(self.__bar)) def set_bar(self, values): self.__bar = cPickle.dumps(values) bar = property(get_bar, set_bar) I would like the set to be editable in the admin interface. Obviously the user won't be working with the pickled string directly. Also, the interface would need a widget for adding/removing strings from a set. What is the best way to go about doing this? I'm not super familiar with Django's admin system. Do I need to build a custom admin widget or something? • Android RTSP coding problem

  I have Googled my butt off trying to find where if there is a surefire way to make rtsp work. I have a radio station that I listen to that streams via rtsp. Of course by default Android doesn't want to play it. If I pop the URL into yourmuze.fm and create a station there it lets me stream it to my phone. After checking how it works I come to find that it streams to the phone via rtsp! So obviously there is something amiss. What makes one stream work and one not? This is the stream I am attempting : rtsp://wms2.christiannetcast.com/yes-fm It is an audio stream so I would be thrilled with most peoples problem of "it only does audio and not video." When yourmuze.fm streams, DDMS states it brings up MovieView to play the audio if that helps at all.

• Theme confusion in SpreadsheetML.

  I've been fighting this all day. Inside my styles.xml file I have color information given like so: <fgColor theme="0" tint="-0.249977111117893" / ECMA 376 defines a theme color reference as: Index into the <clrScheme collection, referencing a particular <sysClr or <srgbClr value expressed in the Theme part. Ok, that sounds easy. Here is an excerpt from my clrScheme xml: <a:clrScheme name="Office" <a:dk1 <a:sysClr val="windowText" lastClr="000000" / </a:dk1 <a:lt1 <a:sysClr val="window" lastClr="FFFFFF" / </a:lt1 Index zero is black, and they are wanting to darken it? I can tell you that after the tint is applied, the color should be #F2F2F2. My confusion is what does theme="0" really mean? It can't possible mean to darken #000000. Checking MSDN only confuses me even more. From http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd560821.aspx note that the theme color integer begins counting from left to right in the palette starting with zero. Theme color 3 is the dark 2 text/background color. Actually, if you start counting at zero the third entry is Light 2. Dark 2 is the second one. Can anyone here shed some light on this subject for me? What does theme="0" really mean? Here is the VB6 code I have been working with to apply the tint. You can paste it into your vba editor and run the test sub.   How do you enable actions like Goto line number Find(/Replace) There don't appear to be default triggers for these actions. There are a bunch of methods on the control, but I'm missing the first step of how to get the 'events' that would trigger these. For instance, how does one hook ctrl+f or F3/Alt+F3 in the control and make them do a find? Should I be looking at each key using EVT_STC_KEY? Would also like any examples of using this control with Custom language definition (say something similar to C++, but not C++) Auto completion (basic keywords to start, or including variables)

• How can I exceed the 60% Memory Limit of IIS7 in ASP.NET Caching application

  Pardon if this is more serverfault vs. stackoverflow. It seems to be on the border. We have an application that caches a large amount of product data for an e-commerce application using ASP.NET caching. This is a dictionary object with 65K elements, and our calculations put the object's size at ~10GB. Problem: The amount of memory the object consumes seems to be far in excess of our 10GB calculation. BIGGEST CONCERN: We can't seem to use over 60% of the 32GB in the server. What we've tried so far: In machine.config/system.web (sf doesn't allow the tags, pardon the formatting): processModel autoConfig="true" memoryLimit="80" In web.config/system.web/caching/cache (sf doesn't allow the tags, pardon the formatting): privateBytesLimit = "20000000000" (and 0, the default of course) percentagePhysicalMemoryUsedLimit = "90" Environment: Windows 2008R2 x64 32GB RAM IIS7 Nothing seems to allow us to exceed the 60% value. • Is there an HTML browser rendering engine for Ruby?

  Given a URL, I would like to be able to render the returned HTML to know width and height for each div, fonts' size for each piece of text, color of each element, position of each element on screen, etc. A possible approach could be traversing the DOM tree with Hpricot and checking CSS style by parsing the associated stylesheet using css_parser gem. But this would not consider default styles, inheritance, floats, etc. In Java there's Cobra, a Java Web Renderer, which is able to render a web page and query attributes like width, font size, etc. for each fragment. I could use Cobra with JRuby or similar solutions, but prefer a Ruby native tool. Is there any library like this for Ruby?

  Hello, I have a rather annoying issue with LinqToSql. I have created a class that is derived from the class in the DataContext. The problem is that as soon as I use "InsertOnSubmit(this);" on this derived class I get a NullReferenceException. I've seen some people with the same issue. However they've used a custom constructor and solved the issue by calling ": this()" like this thread http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/linqprojectgeneral/thread/0cf1fccb-6398-4f16-920b-adef9dc4ac9f The difference is that I use a default constructor which causes the base constructor to be called so there should not be any problem!   I have this: <Canvas x:Name="LayoutRoot" KeyDown="LayoutRoot_KeyDown"> </Canvas> In a newly-minted Ag 3 application in VS2008. I simply changed the default <Grid /> to <Canvas /> and added a KeyDown handler that pops a MessageBox. But no matter how I tried, the KeyDown event just would never, ever fires. Is it simply that <Canvas /> doesn't support KeyDown or am I doing something wrong?

  Hi, I've been looking and googling a lot, but I didn't find a solution to this problem. I was successfully using xrandr to extend my desktop in my work place with this little "script". #!/bin/sh xrandr --newmode 1920x1080 220.64 1920 2056 2264 2608 1080 1081 1084 1128 -HSync +Vsync xrandr --addmode VGA 1920x1080 xrandr --output VGA --mode 1920x1080 Everything was going well till one day that magically stop working. When I try to use it. I just get this message. X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist) The laptop display resizes in a strange way, but nothing happens with the extended monitor. I've restored gnome desktop default config. I changed the font config, I tried with other layouts and monitors, but always occur the same. So any Idea will be welcomed. My best regards.

• IIS URL Rewriting for all Inbound URLs?

  Hopefully a simple question although one I have found impossible to answer myself using the Googles! I have a website on IIS with the URL http://www.contoso.com/ which points to C:\www\public\ There has been a forced directory restructure so now all of the data (Default.aspx, Product.aspx, etc.) that originally resided in C:\www\public\ now resides in C:\www\public\en\ie\ - however, the IIS website document root is still C:\www\public\ So, essentially, I have a lot of inbound links to http://www.contoso.com/Product.aspx?id=1 (etc.) which are now returning 404 errors - the correct link is now http://www.contoso.com/en/ie/Product.aspx?id=1 Please consider that I can make no changes to the directory structure or the IIS document root... so must solve this issue using URL rewriting. Is it possible to capture all requests to contoso.com/* and rewrite them to contoso.com/en/ie/* ??

  Hi guys, I'm using GTK Sharp to work on some GUI for my app. Take a look at this chunk of code: Pango.FontDescription fontdesc = new Pango.FontDescription(); fontdesc.Family = "Sans"; //fontdesc.Size = 12; fontdesc.Weight = Pango.Weight.Semibold; SyncInfo.ModifyFont(fontdesc); Gdk.Color fontcolor = new Gdk.Color(255,255,255); SyncInfo.ModifyFg(StateType.Normal, fontcolor); Notice fontdesc.Size is commented out. Because only when I comment it out, will I see the label with text. If I set any value to it, the label will not appear. Also, I did a Console.WriteLine, and the default Size is 0. So I tried frontdesc.Size = 0, and it still disappears, any idea? Thanks!

• iPhone Provisioning Profile problems...

  I have already successfully submitted two apps to the app store, so I should be able to do it by now, right? With my most recent app, however, I'm having a bear of a time with getting the Application Identifier or Bundle Identifier set up. In my distribution profile, I have included the identifier "com.jmock.irowbeta", and then copied it exactly into the the app's Info.plist file under "Bundle Identifier". In the past, this has done the trick, but now I'm getting the error Provisioning profile 'irow beta' specificies the identifier 'com.jmock.irowbeta' which doesn't match the current setting 'com.yourcompany.irow-beta'. So it seems that its somehow still using the default of com.yourcompany.APPLICATION_NAME, but it shouldn't after I have changed it in the Info.plist, right? I think this means that xcode isn't recognizing that PLIST for some reason, because when I change the name of the icon file, for example, or other such attributes, nothing changes. If this is the problem, how do I make xcode recognize the PLIST? Otherwise, what the heck is going on? Thanks, James

  I'm doing this application in C# using the free Krypton Toolkit but the Krypton Navigator is a paid product which is rather expensive for me and this application is being developed on my free time and it will be available to the public for free. So, I'm looking for a free control to integrate better into my Krypton application because the default one doesn't quite fit and it will be different depending on the OS version... Any suggestions? P.S: I know I could owner-draw it but I'm trying not to have that kind of work... I prefer something already done if it exists for free. • Open an Excel htm URL via iFrame in a separate browser

  I have some URLs in an Excel file which I have saved as a .htm (webpage) file. I then view these in a browser via our wiki (MediaWiki). This is done using an iFrame embedded in the wiki page. So, just for clarity, the link is in a htm file viewed via an iFrame in a wiki page. When I click on that link, it opens inside the iFrame. What I want is for it to open in a new browser window. (This should be the user's default browser since some use Internet Explorer and some Firefox.) The final twist is that some users have Windows XP and some Solaris. Help greatly appreciated.

• Let system time determine animation speed, not program FPS

  I'm writing a card game in ActionScript 3. Each card is represented by an instance of a class extending movieclip exported from Flash CS4 that contains the card graphics and a flip animation. When I want to flip a card I call gotoAndPlay on this movieclip. When the frame rate slows down all animations take longer to finish. It seems Flash will by default animate movieclips in a way that makes sure all frames in the clip will be drawn. Therefor, when the program frame rate goes below the frame rate of the clip, the animation will be played at a slower pace. I would like to have an animation always play at the same speed and as a consequence always be shown on the screen for the same amount of time. If the frame rate is too slow to show all frames, frames are dropped. Is is possible to tell Flash to animate in this way? If not, what is the easiest way to program this behavior myself?

• WPF Validation with ContentPresenter

  Hi, I have a WPF user control which needs to validate some fields. It is bound to a class implementing IDataErrorInfo. When I set the user control as the content of my ContentPresenter in another, already open, window, I can see validation occurring, and error messages being returned, however, I don't get any validation adorner - e.g. the default red outline. If I enter the field and leave it (triggering re-validation) the validation adorner appears. Also, if I show the user control in it's own window it shows the validation adorner immediately. (I'm using Caliburn IResults to do this underneath, e.g. Show.Dialog<VM>(); but I suspect this isn't related) Can anyone offer any suggestion why the validation adorners aren't appearing immediately. (I had guessed animation on my ContentPresenter ContentChanged, however, I have removed this and still experience the problem. thanks, Chris

• Monodevelop SVN 1.7 support

  I'm trying to checkout an SVN repo and it does get checked out, however the solution is not opened by default. I then tried to simply open an already checked out folder and I do not get versioning support. I tried this in both Windows and Linux with no success with MonoDevelop 3.0.4 and 3.0.5 My guess is that since the .sln file is in the path /trunk/code/project/project.sln and the new 1.7 format keeps only one ".svn" folder at the top of the checked out folder (e.g. /home/gustavo/ProjectSrc/ ) hence MD not "finding" the versioned code. Anybody has had success using SVN 1.7 and MonoDevelop?
