  I am trying to use notepad++ as my all-in-one tool edit, run, compile etc. I have jre installed, i have setup my path variable to .../bin directory. When I run my "Hello world" in notepad++ , I get this message: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: test_hello_world : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0 at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClassCond(Unknown Source) ......................................... I think the problem here is about versions, some version of java may be old or too new. how do i fix it? should i install jdk , and setup my path variable to JDK instead of jre? difference between PATH variable in jre or jdk?

• Test for external undefined references in Linux

  Is there a built in linux utility that I can use to test a newly compiled shared library for external undefined references? Gcc seems to be intelligent enough to check for undefined symbols in my own binary, but if the symbol is a reference to another library gcc does not check at link time. Instead I only get the message when I try to link to my new library from another program. It seems a little silly to get undefined reference messages in a library when I am compiling a different project so I want to know if I can do a check on all references internal and external when I build the library not when I link to it. • Is it possible to capture a "file not found" from another process and then return a file to that pro

  I have a legacy application that looks for files in a directory. It does not handle missing files very well. What I want to do is "capture" the file not found errors, and send another file back to the calling app instead. Similar to how you could handle a 404 error on a webserver and return something based on what the requested URL was, except on the local file system. Is this possible? And more preferably, is it possible in .Net?

• Localizing other pages in Settings.bundle

  I have other pages within my app preferences which are stored as separate files within the settings.bundle. It has come time to localize my app and I can only seem to get the Root values to localize. I was wondering whether there was a trick? The following image shows that my second screen is stored within a file called "MyPrefs.plist" and I have created a corresponding named file "MyPrefs.strings" in the en.lproj directory. Mirroring the same naming and location as the Root.plist and Root.strings. The values with the Root.plist are converted as expected but not in the extra screen. Is there any trick to localizing secondary screens with the settings.bundle?

• SQL decimal conversion error

  Hey, my app parses numerous txt files in a directory that are almost all formatted identically, then inserts the values into columns of my sql db. However, there are a few files that the app has come across where a value is 'blank' instead of '0.0', so the application fails stating that it cannot convert that value to numeric. • Cannot resolve view when view is in subdirectory

  We have a MVC 2.0 / c# 4.0 application that we develop visual studio. We have a part of the site (admin) that we have put in it's own sub directory and with its own routing rules: routes.Add("DomainRoute", new DomainRoute( ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["adminDomain"], // Domain with parameters "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "AdminPage", action = "Admin", id = "", isAdmin = true } We have all the views for the admin site inside an admin sub folder so that you get paths like: \views\admin\auth\login.aspx In the \controllers\admin\authController.aspx file I have a function called login: public ActionResult Login() { return View(); } This works just as it should, ie if i go admin.localhost\auth\login I go to the login page. But if I do a right click in visual studio and "go to view" i get an error "unable to go to matching view". Is there anyway to solve this?

  On Windows 7 I have an ant target that copies a xalan library into the jdk endorsed directory so that the next xslt transformation task can occur. The first time that the ant target runs, the xslt transformation fails. The second time it runs the jar file is already in the correct place and the xslt tranformation succeeds. The first time that the ant target runs, it looks like the file copied successfully. It feels like a timing issue, but I don't know what I can do to get around it. Here is my copy task: <mkdir dir="${java.home}\lib\endorsed"/> <copy file="${basedir}\xalan.jar" tofile="${java.home}\lib\endorsed\xalan.jar"/> Has anyone seen anything like this before?

  Hi, i'm using linux and php 5.2.12 i have problem with executing proc_open if i use proc_open('php script.php', $descriptorspec, $pipes); it will show me error sh: /php: No such file or directory if i use proc_open('/usr/bin/php script.php', $descriptorspec, $pipes); or proc_open('php script.php', $descriptorspec, $pipes, '/usr/bin/'); it still show me same error. i have no idea why it always append slash in front of command. any help please? thanks!

  I am receiving the following error message: An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator. If you are the system administrator please click here to find out more about this error. I have my site in the inetpub directory in a subfolder called website. I have also gone to add/remove windows compononents and had asp installed. In iss manager I have asp listed with defult settings. The initial website page is a classic asp page Has anyone else encountered this issue? Please help! When the applciation was built, all assemblies were compiled with full debug info (Project Properties - Build - Advanced - Debug Info - Full), and so PDB files were generated. To help me diagnose where the error is coming from, I dropped the PDB files into the application's bin directory, and reproduced the exception. All line numbers for each stack frame look correct, with the exception of one which displays "line 0" as its source.

• How to deploy a Java Swing application with an embedded JavaDB database?

  I have implemented an Java Swing application that uses an embedded JavaDB database. The database need to be stored somewhere and the database tables need to be created at the first run. What is the preferred way to do these procedures? Should I always create the database in the local directory, and first check if the database file exist, and if it doesn't exist let the user create the tables (or at least show a message that the tables will be created). Or should I let the user choose a path? but then I have to save the path somewhere. Should I save the path with Preferences.systemRoot();, and check if that variable is set on startup? If the user choses a path and save it in the Preferences, can I get any problems with user permissions? or should it be safe wherever the user store the database? Or how do I handle this? Any other suggestions for this procedure?

  I'm running into a few problems with adding gae-sessions to a relatively mature GAE app. I followed the readme carefully and also looked at the demo. First, just adding the gaesesions directory to my app causes the following error when running tests with nose and nose-gae: Exception ImportError: 'No module named threading' in <bound method local.__del__ of <_threading_local.local object at 0x103e10628>> ignored All the tests run fine so not a big problem but suggests that something isn't right. • What could cause ASP.NET's executionTimeout to not be enforced running under IIS?

  I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem, but I'm unable to reproduce it locally under IIS because no matter how low I set executionTimeout, the requests never time out. I've tried setting this via the web.config (, via code (Page.Server.ScriptTimeout = 5;). I'm running with binaries that were compiled in release mode, and debug=false is set in the compilation element. FWIW, under Cassini (the standalone development webserver), everything works as expected, running out of the same directory off of the exact same assemblies/config files. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

I have a directory structure as follows: application - modules -- default --- controllers --- models ---- DbTable ---- Cachmapper.php --- views My config file looks like this [production] phpSettings.display_startup_errors = 0 phpSettings.display_errors = 0 includePaths.library = APPLICATION_PATH "/../library" bootstrap.path = APPLICATION_PATH "/Bootstrap.php" bootstrap.class = "Bootstrap" resources.frontController.moduleDirectory = APPLICATION_PATH "/modules" resources.modules[] = The application seems to work, if I navigate to localhost, it correctly goes to the index controller. But, for some reason it refuses to load any models. Fatal error: Class 'Model_Cachmapper' not found in .............................../application/modules/default/controllers/IndexController.php on line 26 Ideas? Thanks

  I have an IIS web site. This web site contains other web sites so the structure is like that. \ MainWebSite\ App1\ App2\ All sites are Asp.net MVC Webapplications. In the MasterPage of App1 i reference the Script-files like that <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/jquery-ui-1.8.custom.min.js"></script> The Problem is that he now tries to find the File at http:\server\MainWebSite\Scripts.... how can i workaround that? should i put all my Scripts and CSS files into the root directory is that a preferred solution?

  I'm trying to set up a simple clojure project, and I'm not sure how to load files between the project. I'm sure that the answer is in the documentation, but I can't find a simple answer any where and I'm not sure where to look. Essentially, my directory looks like this: Clojure/ clojure/ clojure.jar other clojure files clojure-contrib/ clojure-contrib.jar other contrib files project/ main.clj utils.clj And I want main.clj to be something like this: (ns project.main (:require project.utils)) (greet) and utils.clj to be something like this: (ns project.utils) (defn greet [] (println "Hello, World!")) But that fails with: Exception in thread "main" java.io.FileNotFoundException: Could not locate project/utils__init.class or project/utils.clj on classpath: (main.clj:1) When I attempt to run it.   I decided to use Dynamic Data Entities website in vs2012. So, I created this website,then added App_Code directory and added a new edmx to it and named it myDB.edmx. After that I uncommented the code line in global.asax which registers the entity context : DefaultModel.RegisterContext(typeof(myDBEntities), new ContextConfiguration() { ScaffoldAllTables = true }); But when I run the website this error occurs : The context type 'myDBEntities' is not supported. how can I fix it? p.s: You now there are some differences between using L2S by Dynamic Data L2S website AND using entity framework by Dynamic Data Entities website.

  VB.NET: Can the .EXE built by VS2005 be deployed as a standalone EXE? When I change the mode in VS2005 to "Release" and build the solution, the bin\Release directory then contains the solution .EXE file, but also a .pdb, vshost.exe and .xml file. What are these extra files and are they necessary? I copied the .exe file to another machine and it executed properly, but there was a significant delay when it first executed - thereafter it was like any other program. What is the reason for this, and can it be helped? Is it because the other 3 files in the Release folder are not there with it?

• Finding the right version of the right JAR in a maven repository

  I'm converting a build that has 71 .jar files in its global lib/ directory to use Maven. Of course, these have been pulled from the web by lots of developers over the past ten years of this project's history, and weren't always added to VCS with all the necessary version info, etc. Is there an easy, automated way to go from that set of .jar files to the corresponding <dependency/> elements for use in my pom.xml files? I'm hoping for a web page where I can submit the checksum of a jar file and get back an XML snippet. The google hits for 'maven repository search' are basically just finding name-based searches. And http://repo1.maven.org/ has no search whatsoever, as far as I can see. Update: GrepCode looks like it can find projects given an MD5 checksum. But it doesn't provide the particular details (groupId, artifactId) that Maven needs.

  Hello, I have a index.php file that will include several external files: "content/templates/id1/template.php" "content/templates/id2/template.php" "content/templates/id3/template.php" etc. All these files are loaded dynamically into index.php (it reads all folders inside "templates" directory and then includes every "template.php" file). I want to make "template.php" to have the same code in all the "id1,id2,id3" folders, BUT to load values from index.php depending in which folder it stays.. How can I do that? Thank You!

  This is somewhat of a simple question, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to exclude something from a zsh for loop. For instance, let's say we have this: for $package in /home/user/settings/* do # do stuff done Let's say that in /home/user/settings/, there is a particular directory ("os") that I want to ignore. Logically, I tried the following variations: for $package in /home/user/settings/^os (works w/ "ls", but not with a foor loop) for $package in /home/user/settings/*^os for $package in /home/user/settings/^os* ...but none of those seem to work. Could someone steer my syntax in the right direction?
