• Visual Studio 2010 blurry font

  I'm using Visual C# 2010 Express (final, not beta or anything) and I'm having an issue with blurry fonts while debugging. The font appears normal everywhere (intellisense, menus, code) but when a breakpoint is reached most of the debugger related text is blurry (Locals, Call Stack, "data tooltips"). • Can you load Google Maps API v3 via Google AJAX API loader

  Some time ago I used the regular method of loading Google Maps API like this: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps?file=api&v=2&key=abcdefg&sensor=true"> Later I switched to Google AJAX APIs to load Google Maps API. This was because a couple of "widgets" on my website needed the Google Ajax API loader so I chose to be consistent and used the AJAX APIs to load Google Maps as well: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.google.com/jsapi?key=abcdef"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> google.load("maps", "2", {"other_params": "sensor=true"}); </script> Now that I have finally decided to use Google Maps API v3, this page does not list API v3 in the available version list. None of the examples on API v3 documentation show the use of AJAX APIs as well. Is is possible (and supported) to load Google Maps API v3 via AJAX API loader?

But I don't want a list that shows: SG MV I want a list that shows: Song Movie I can do this on an individual object basis if I was in the template object.get_type_display But how do I get a list of all of the unique "type" entries in the database as their full names for output into a template? I hope this question was clearly described. . .

  Hi, I am trying to add a custom control to my google map (v3): want to have search box just near the other map controls. So I add a div with <input type="textbox"> on it, and it's being shown on the map. I can compile from source, but where is the fun in that. It seems the release dates for the next Open Solaris keep getting pushed back and the release that was scheduled to happen quietly got pulled from their site.   I am building a MVVM application. The model / entity (I am using NHibernate) is already done, and I am thinking of using AutoMapper to map between the ViewModel and Model. How have you been using Automapper in a MVVM app? Please help!

• Eject disk on Mac Pro running VMWare ESXi

  I'm almost embarrassed to ask this, but I'm stuck. I installed VMWare ESXi on a Mac Pro. It's working great! The problem is that you press F12 to eject the disk, and F12 is what you use to shutdown ESX. I can power down, open the case, pull out the CD drive and use a paper clip to force the drawer open, but that's kind of a pain. Any other way to do this?

• WCF DataContract with readonly properties

  Hi, I'm trying to return a complex type from a service method in WCF. I'm using C# and .NET 4. This complex type is meant to be invariant (the same way .net strings are). If I try to define only getters on properties I get a run time error. I guess this is because no setters causes serialization to fail. Still, I think this type should be invariant. Is there a way to make readonly properties on a WCF DataContract? Is, how? If not, what would you suggest for this problem? Thanks, Asaf

  Hi, I'm new to iPhone programming and I'm trying to use CHDataStructures in my project. But I'm running into some issues: When I directly try to build it right after download I get the error "Foundation/Foundation.h" no such file or directory. The Active SDK is "Use Base SDK" and the active architecture is x86_64. I believe I should set the Active SDK to the iPhone SDK but it isn't listed there; At some point (I don't remember how) I managed to tweak it and I got the iPhone SDK (simulator) in the active SDK but when I tried to build it I got the following error: "target specifies product type 'com.apple.product-type.framework', but there's no such product type for the 'iphonesimulator' platform"; And now I'm stuck.   I have a lftp file that I want to execute using the following command lftp -f /usr/scripts/fileS.lftp If I run this file I get Delaying before reconnect: Now within this file (fileS.lftp) I have the following code open -u username,password server mput -E * close If I run open -u username,password server I get the following error Couldnt get a file descriptor referring to the console I assume I need to allow a connection on the server I'm trying to connect to, how can I do this? Any help would be highly appreciated.

• WPF: IEditableCollectionView and CanAddNew and empty collections

  We were having some issues with the wpf datagrid and IEditableCollectionView (although this question applies to using IEditableCollectionView and ItemsControl) When you have a collection with no items in it, the IEditableCollectionView cannot determine what items should be inserted so it sets CanAddNew=false we found a solution here (buried deep in the comments) that goes like so : If you derive from ObservableCollection like this public class PersonsList : ObservableCollection<Person> { } you will find out that if the initial collection is empty, there won't be a NewItemPlaceHolder showing up on the view. That's because PersonsList cannot resolve type T at design time. A workaround that works for me is to pass type T as a parameter into the class like this PersonsList<T> : ObservableCollection<T> where T : Person { } This approach will place the NewItemPlaceHolder even if the collection is empty. I'm wondering if there is an interface i can implement on my collections that inform the IEditableCollectionView which type to create should i get an AddNew request.

  I am exposing a web service using CXF. I am using the @XmlID and @XmlIDREF JAXB annotations to maintain referential integrity of my object graph during marshalling/unmarshalling. The WSDL rightly contains elements with the xs:id and xs:idref attributes to represent this. On the server side, everything works really nicely. Instances of Types annotated with @XmlIDREF are the same instances (as in ==) to those annotated with the @XmlID annotation. However, when I generate a client with WSDLToJava, the references (those annotated with @XmlIDREF) are of type java.lang.Object. Is there any way that I can customise the JAXB bindings such that the types of references are either java.lang.String (to match the ID of the referenced type) or the same as the referenced type itself?

• jQuery not loading on Master Page when the Content Page is in a child folder.

  I have a site where I am trying to implement a jQuery UI based MessageBox in my master page. Content pages are arranged accoring to business area folders, i.e. '~/Branding/Contracts.aspx'. I find that when I load such a content page, jQuery, which is referenced in the master page as below, does not load. I assume that this is because the browser is requesting 'Branding/Scripts/jQuery '. What can I do about this? • Creating a Wiki site in SharePoint 2010

  I have a SharePoint 2010 site set up and would like to add a Wiki site to it. Normally, to add a subsite to a parent site you would click "Site Actions" - "New Site" and choose the site type (e.g. Team Site) and it would work fine. In the case of adding a Wiki site, I choose "Enterprise Wiki", and get "Error An Unexpected Error has occured Correlation Id:...". So i took the CorrelationId and checked in the ULS files to see what the error is, and the first bad sign seems to be: SharePoint Foundation Feature Infrastructure " The element of type 'ContentTypeBinding' for feature 'EnterpriseWiki' (id: 76d688ad-c16e-4cec-9b71-7b7f0d79b9cd) threw an exception during activation: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: Content type not found (Id: '0x010100C568DB52D9D0A14D9B2FDCC96666E9F2007948130EC3DB064584E219954237AF39004C1F8B46085B4D22B1CDC3DE08CFFB9C')." There are more errors in the log, but this seems to be the first one. Any ideas on whats going on? Thanks

  I want to use the openoffice chinese fonts, eg AR PL SungtiL GB, but the xelatex tells me that it is an invalid name (as shown below). It seems like the font name has spaces and so it doesn't recognize it? How should I get around this?
