    I have the following XML: Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 While this XSL does what is expected (output the attr of the first picture): It seems to be not possible to do the same inside the variable declaration using xsl:copy-of: Curious: If I just select "$FirstPicture" instead of "$FirstPicture/@attr" in the second example, it outputs the text node of Picture 1 as expected... Before you all suggest me to rewrite the code: This is just a simplified test, my real aim is to use a named template to select a node into the variable FirstPicture and reuse it for further selections. I hope someone could help me to understand the behavior or could suggest me a proper way to select a node with code which could be easily reused (the decission which node is the first one is complex in my real application). One is users and other one is userfriends users table: aid email firstname 1 [email protected] example 2 [email protected] example2 3 [email protected] example3 4 [email protected] example4 userfriends tables: reqid email friendemail status 1 [email protected] [email protected] 1 (example1 is frnds with example2) 2 [email protected] [email protected] 2 (example2 request pending) 3 [email protected] [email protected] 1 (example1 is frnds with example3) 4 [email protected] [email protected] 1 (example1 is frnds with example4) So when status is 2 the add request is pending and at status 1 they are friends. What i want is that i want to retrieve the complete friendlist for user example1. I want to pull out names from users table for corresponding output from previous query to display as friendlist.

    I've looked around and can't quite grasp the whole answer to this SQL query question needed to extract data from an MS Access 2000 table. Here's an example of what the table [Time Sub] looks like: CLIENT_ID, DATE_ENTERED, CODE, MINUTES 11111, 5/12/2008 3:50:52 PM, M, 38 11111, 5/12/2008 2:55:50 PM, M, 2 11714, 5/13/2008 1:15:32 PM, M, 28 11111, 5/13/2008 6:15:12 PM, W, 11 11112, 5/12/2008 2:50:52 PM, M, 89 11112, 5/12/2008 5:10:52 PM, M, 9 91112, 5/14/2008 1:10:52 PM, L, 96 11112, 5/12/2008 5:11:52 PM, M, 12 I need to select the first entry of each day per client that's NOT code L or W. I know this can be done in a SQL statement, but I just can't figure out how. I can get close, but never come up with the right output. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Mike

    My code merges two lists of lists, item by item, in the following way: mergeL([[a,b],[c,d]], [[1,2],[3,4]], Result). Result = [[a,b,1,2],[c,d,3,4]] And this is the code i use: mergeL([],[],[]). mergeL(List, [], List). mergeL([], List, List). mergeL([X|Rest],[Y|Rest2], [XY|Res2]) :- mergeL(Rest, Rest2, Res2), append(X,Y,XY). This seems to work but if i call it with two lists of the same size i get three repeated results. Example (both list contain only one element): ?- mergeL([[a,b]],[[1,2,3]],Q). Q = [[a, b, 1, 2, 3]] ; Q = [[a, b, 1, 2, 3]] ; Q = [[a, b, 1, 2, 3]]. Is there a clean way to make this output only one solution?

  • link_to syntax with rails3 (link_to_remote) and basic javascript not working in a rails3 app?

    i am wondering if the basic link_to syntax is completely broken in current rails3 master or if i am doing some wrong syntax here. = link_to "name", nil, :onlick => "alert('Hello world!');" should actually produce an alert on click. very simple. does not work on my rails3 project! (also no error output!) any ideas? for the general link_to syntax i could not find an example where i could combine a link_to_remote with a confirmation, remote and html class (see my try below) = link_to "delete", {:action => "destroy", :remote => true, :method => :delete, :confirm => "#{a.title} wirklich L&ouml;schen?" }, :class => "trash" even the rails3 api does not help me here: http://rails3api.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html help!

I am trying to identify in well over 100 bat files where each of about 100 SSIS Packages are running. I'm doing this in Windows batch, have tried about 20 various approaches without success - any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have a query like below that has groups (COL1) and that group's values (COL2). select col1, col2 from (select 'A' col1, 1 col2 from dual union all select 'A' col1, 2 col2 from dual union all select 'B' col1, 1 col2 from dual union all select 'B' col1, 2 col2 from dual union all select 'C' col1, 1 col2 from dual union all select 'C' col1, 2 col2 from dual ) order by col1, col2; The output of this query looks like: COL1 COL2 ---- ---- A 1 A 2 B 1 B 2 C 1 C 2 What I need is a query that will return an ordered number increasing for each different group (COL1). It seems like there would be a simple way to accomplish this (maybe with analytics) but for some reason it is escaping me. GRPNUM COL1 COL2 ------ ---- ---- 1 A 1 1 A 2 2 B 1 2 B 2 3 C 1 3 C 2 I am running Oracle 10gR2.

Instead it is just returning the value of the global variable which I used for pthread_exit. Is it not a bug?

I use the command grep -C 1 'port number' file.txt i.e. I want all IP addresses corresponding to a particular port. Making it simple, I want the next line matching a regular expression. Like if my regular expression matches line 2,4 and 6 then I want lines 3, 5 and 7 to be printed. How to do that?

    I'm seeing strange results when doing a string.Format( "C" ); E.g. double val = 123456.78; Console.WriteLine( val.ToString( "C" ) ); This prints the thousand separator as 0xa0 rather than a comma (0x2c). I get the same result if I use string.Format( "{0:0,0.00}", 1234567.12D ); Here is the full output R 123ÿ456,78 52333A333233 201230456C78 My regional settings are English (South African) and I'm getting the same result on multiple machines.     Hello, my question is how would i be able to go through a string and take out only the links and erase all the rest? I thought about using some type of delemiter, but wouldnt know how to go about using it in java. an example of what i am trying to do: this is my String: String myString = "The file is http: // www. .com/hello.txt and the second file is " + "http: // www. .com/hello2.dat"; I would want the output to be: "http: // www. .com/hello.txt http: // www. .com/hello2.dat" or each could be added to an array, separately. I just want some ideas, id like to write the code myself but am having trouble on how to do it. Any help would be awesome.

So i was thinking to be able to call my tests through a controller and put the tests output in a dialog.     Hi guys! So, I have a dictionary with almost 100,000 (key, values) pairs and the majority of the keys map to the same values. For example imagine something like that: dict = {'a': 1, 'c': 2, 'b': 1, 'e': 2, 'd': 3, 'h': 1, 'j': 3} What I want to do, is to reverse the dictionary so that each value in dict is going to be a key at the reverse_dict and is going to map to a list of all the dict.keys that used to map to that value at the dict. So based on the example above I would get: reversed_dict = {1: ['a', 'b', 'h'], 2:['e', 'c'] , 3:['d', 'j']} I came up with a solution that is very expensive and I would really want to hear any ideas more efficient than mine. my expensive solution: reversed_dict = {} for value in dict.values(): reversed_dict[value] = [] for key in dict.keys(): if dict[key] == value: if key not in reversed_dict[value]: reversed_dict[value].append(key) Output >> reversed_dict = {1: ['a', 'b', 'h'], 2: ['c', 'e'], 3: ['d', 'j']} I would really appreciate to hear any ideas better and more efficient than than mine.     I'm trying to use an integer as the numerical representation of a string, for example, storing "ABCD" as 0x41424344. However, when it comes to output, I've got to convert the integer back into 4 ASCII characters. Right now, I'm using bit shifts and masking, as follows: int value = 0x41424344; string s = new string ( new char [] { (char)(value >> 24), (char)(value >> 16 & 0xFF), (char)(value >> 8 & 0xFF), (char)(value & 0xFF) }); Is there a cleaner way to do this? I've tried various casts, but the compiler, as expected, complained about it.
