    This data comes from an Oracle database and is extracted to flatfiles in encoding 'WE8MSWIN1252'. I want to parse the data and do some analysis. I want to see the text fields but do not need to publish the results to any other system so if some characters do not get converted perfectly I do not have a problem with that. I just do not want my parsing to fail with a decode error which is what I get if I use: inputFile = codecs.open( dataFileName, "r", "utf-8'")

For commands it works fine, they are enabling or disabling correctly. But when i try to disable view and open perspective, that contains that view (myproject.view.input), it opened without that view, but also throws exception: !STACK 1 org.eclipse.ui.PartInitException: Could not create view: myproject.view.input at org.eclipse.ui.internal.ViewFactory.createView(ViewFactory.java:158) I can show full stacktrace if anyone want. I tried to debug my application and before i open my perspective whith that view, i checked currentState of my CommandState source provider, and all seemes to be ok: all variables values are correct and myproject.view.input.active = DISABLED Can anyone say, why exception is thrown?   • Reporting Services as PDF through WebRequest in C# 3.5 "Not Supported File Type"

    I've inherited a legacy application that is supposed to grab an on the fly pdf from a reporting services server. Everything works fine up until the point where you try to open the pdf being returned and adobe acrobat tells you: Adobe Reader could not open 'thisStoopidReport'.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged(for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). I've done some initial troubleshooting on this. If I replace the url in the WebRequest.Create() call with a valid pdf file on my local machine ie: @"C:temp/validpdf.pdf") then I get a valid PDF. The report itself seems to work fine. If I manually type the URL to the reporting services report that should generate the pdf file I am prompted for user authentication. But after supplying it I get a valid pdf file. I've replace the actual url,username,userpass and domain strings in the code below with bogus values for obvious reasons.     I'd like to have a macro in Visual Studio 2005 that calls a DOS command and redirects the output (stdout and stderr) to a file. Just calling the command and "" redirecting it will not capture stderr, so there are two parts to this: calling a DOS command capturing both stderr and stdout to a file during that call I'd then like to open this file in Visual Studio after the command completes. I'm new to Visual Studio 2005 macro writing, and VB/VBA, so that's the kind of help that I'm looking for. Thanks, Mark

  • unformatted input to a std::string instead of c-string from binary file.

    ok i have this program working using c-strings. I am wondering if it is possible to read in blocks of unformatted text to a std::string? I toyed arround with if >> but this reads in line by line. I've been breaking my code and banging my head against the wall trying to use std::string, so I thought it was time to enlist the experts. Here's a working program you need to supply a file "a.txt" with some content to make it run. i tried to fool around with: in.read (const_cast<char *>(memblock.c_str()), read_size); but it was acting odd. I had to do std::cout << memblock.c_str() to get it to print. and memblock.clear() did not clear out the string. anyway, if you can think of a way to use STL I would greatly appreciate it.     I want to write text files with DOS/Windows line endings '\r\n' using python running on Linux. It seems to me that there must be a better way than manually putting a '\r\n' at the end of every line or using a line ending conversion utility. Ideally I would like to be able to do something like assign to os.linesep the separator that I want to use when writing the file. Or specify the line separator when I open the file.

  • Optimizing Haskell code

    I'm trying to learn Haskell and after an article in reddit about Markov text chains, I decided to implement Markov text generation first in Python and now in Haskell. However I noticed that my python implementation is way faster than the Haskell version, even Haskell is compiled to native code. I am wondering what I should do to make the Haskell code run faster and for now I believe it's so much slower because of using Data.Map instead of hashmaps, but I'm not sure I'll post the Python code and Haskell as well. With the same data, Python takes around 3 seconds and Haskell is closer to 16 seconds.     Hi everyone, I have an C# form application that use an access database. This application works perfectly in debug and release. It works on all version of Windows. But it crash on one computer with Windows 7. The message I got is: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: No value given for one or more required parameters. And also, ECommerce.PMethod.Sql.SqlConns.Open() uses its own connection string, not the one loaded by spring, it's different module from diffrent team. And I am sure the connection string is correct. And, this ysod cames up randomly. Sometimes nothing is wrong, and sometimes, it appears. I thought there could be something wrong with my database or the network/firewall, I will check it later, but now I want understand this tricky stack trace.
