• Google Pie Chart and Bar Chart (both Interactive) not showing labels.

  I'm trying to put Google's BarChart and PieChart both the client side version, and i'm experiencing some problems with the labels over the pie and the labels on the left of the vertical axis (of the bar chart). I checked the code a lot of times and it seems to be like that you can see in the examples. I've tried the same page on Firefox and Chrome and it shows the labels without problems. If i try the examples on IE8 the labels are shown but not in my page. Sincerely I've not any idea where to start to fix this thing. Someone can help me or give me an advice? Thanks in advance.

  I am using the d3.behavior.zoom to implement panning and zooming on a tree layout, but it is exhibiting a behavior I would describe as bouncing or numeric instability. When you start to drag, the display will inexplicably bounce left or right until it just disappears. • Can I tell Borland C++ Builder to copy a file somewhere else after it is built?

  I have two computers. One is intended to be left 'free' for high-performance activities (such as playing games) The other is my 'all purpose' computer where I install all the apps I use for creating things, and so on. On the second computer I use Codegear C++ Builder to work on an app that I use on the first computer. If I have BCB compile to comp 1 it is hopeless. It becomes unresponsive. It compiles locally very quickly. So what I do is compile locally and then copy the exe to the other machine. Well, I'm all for streamlining processes, so I want a way to compile on PC2 and use on PC1 without any intermediate steps. So is it possible to have BCB do the compiling on PC2 and create a local exe file, then copy the file to PC 1?

• How to bundle shell script and C code?

  I have a C shell script that calls two C programs - one after the another with some file handling before, in-between and afterwards. Now, as such I have three different files - one C shell script and 2 .c files. I need to give this script to other users. The problem is that I have to distribute three files - which the users must keep in the same folder and then execute the script. Is there some better way to do this? [I know I can make one C code file out of those two... but I will still be left with a shell script and a C code. Actually, the two C codes do entirely different things... so I want them to be separate]

  I have some numbers in AH, AL, BL, BH registers. I need to check whether there is 0 bit in each of the registers in left half of the number. If yes, then put into check variable value 10 else -10. How can I do this? • Django - Static content display based on URL

  I'm working on a Django site with a basic three column design. Left column navigation, center column content and right column URL specific content blocks. My question is about the best method of controlling the URL specific content blocks in the right column. I am thinking of something along the lines of the Flatpages app that will make the content available to the template context if the URL matches a pre-determined pattern (perhaps regex?). Does anyone know if such an app already exists? If not, I am looking for some advice about the best way to implement it. Particularly in relation to the matching of patterns to the current URL. Is there any good way to re-use parts of the Django URL dispatcher for this use?

• How to create a gesture controlled rotating image for a UI

  I'm trying to figure out the best way to make an image rotate along with a user's finger dragging it left or right. I want to try and match the rate a user's finger is moving with the rate the image is rotating. I've got the basic setup for my application going, with the menus and whatnot I want to have, and that's all running great on the emulator, I'm just not sure how to approach this part. I can code all the logic I need for my app, I'm just not doing to well designing the UI, I have a picture in mind, I've actually made a couple mock images of it, I just can't figure out how to get it going in Android, and any help would be appreciated.

I added ctags to it and I am able to navigate now comfortably. Only problem left for me is "Debugging"? I tried searching for some links, and couldn't a useful one?   I am working on a Flask extension that adds CouchDB support to Flask. To make it easier, I have subclassed couchdb.mapping.Document so the store and load methods can use the current thread-local database. Right now, my code looks like this: class Document(mapping.Document): # rest of the methods omitted for brevity @classmethod def load(cls, id, db=None): return mapping.Document.load(cls, db or g.couch, id) I left out some for brevity, but that's the important part. However, due to the way classmethod works, when I try to call this method, I receive the error message File "flaskext/couchdb.py", line 187, in load return mapping.Document.load(cls, db or g.couch, id) TypeError: load() takes exactly 3 arguments (4 given) I tested replacing the call with mapping.Document.load.im_func(cls, db or g.couch, id), and it works, but I'm not particularly happy about accessing the internal im_ attributes (even though they are documented). Does anyone have a more elegant way to handle this?

  Let's say you have two kinds, Message and Contact, related by a db.ListProperty of keys on Message. A user creates a message, adds some contacts as recipients, and emails the message. Later, the user deletes one of the contact entities that was a recipient of the message. Our application should delete the appropriate Contact entity, but we want to preserve the original recipient list for the message that was sent for the user's records. In essence, we want a snapshot of the message entity at the time it was sent. If we naively delete the contact entity, though, we lose snapshot integrity; if not, we are left with an invalid key. • Lining up the text in a tool tip, with the text in a combobox

  I see a lot of programs where if the text doesn't fit inside the bounds of the control, you can put your mouse over the control and the tooltip text will show you the full unclipped text, and also the tooltip text lines up completly with the text in the control. I'm trying to do that with a combobox in VB 2005 (.net version 2.0). In the tooltip draw event I've tried setting the tooltip location to the location of the AssociatedControl.DisplayRectangle, and the AssociatedControl.ClientRectangle. Each of these seem to put the tooltip text in the top left corner of the combobox, just slightly offset from the text in the combobox. Is there some type of padding I need to account for? or what's going on here?

• mysql inserts & updates optimized

  This is an optimization question, mostly. I have many forms on my sites that do simple Inserts and Updates. (Nothing complicated) But, several of the form's input fields are not necessary and may be left empty. (again, nothing complicated) However, my SQL query will have all columns in the Statement. My question, is it best to optimize the Inserts/Update queries appropriately? And only apply the columns that are changed into the query? We all hear that we shouldn't use the "SELECT *" query, unless it's absolutely needed for displaying all columns. But what about Inserts & Updates? Hope this makes sense. I'm sure any amount of optimization is acceptable. But I never really hear about this, specifically, from anyone.

• "Winamp style" spectrum analyzer

  I have a program that plots the spectrum analysis (Amp/Freq) of a signal, which is preety much the DFT converted to polar. However, this is not exactly the sort of graph that, say, winamp (right at the top-left corner), or effectively any other audio software plots. I am not really sure what is this sort of graph called (if it has a distinct name at all), so I am not sure what to look for. I am preety positive about the frequency axis being base two exponential, the amplitude axis puzzles me though. Any pointers?

• Compiler reordering around mutex boundaries?

  Suppose I have my own non-inline functions LockMutex and UnlockMutex, which are using some proper mutex - such as boost - inside. How will the compiler know not to reorder other operations with regard to calls to the LockMutex and UnlockMutex? It can not possibly know how will I implement these functions in some other compilation unit. void SomeClass::store(int i) { LockMutex(_m); _field = i; // could the compiler move this around? UnlockMutex(_m); } ps: One is supposed to use instances of classes for holding locks to guarantee unlocking. I have left this out to simplify the example.

• How can I resolve naming conflict in given precompiled libraries?

  I'm linking two different libraries that have functions with exactly same name (it's opengl32.lib and libgles_cm.lib - OpenGL ES emulation under Win32 platform), and I want to be able to specify, which version I'm calling. I'm porting a game to OpenGL ES, and what I want to achieve, is a split-screen rendering, where left side is an OpenGL version, and right side is a ES version. To produce the same result, they will recieve slightly different calls, and I'll be able to visually compare them, effectively finding visual artifacts. It worked perfectly with OpenGL/DirectX at the same window, but now the problem is that both versions imports the functions with the same name, like glDrawArrays, and only one version is imported. Unfortunately, I don't have sources of any of that libraries. Is there a way to... I dont' know, wrap one library into additional namespace before linking (with calls like ES::glDrawArrays), somehow rename some of functions or do anything else? I'm using microsoft compiler now, but if there will be solution with another one (GCC/ICC), I'll switch to it.

• How to disable Eclipse's behavior of maximizing editor when double clicking a tab?

  I recently updated my Eclipse (now running 20100218-1602), and I've found whenever I click around quickly between tabs on the tab bar, it will sometimes maximize the editor and hide the PHP Explorer to the left. After researching a little, this appears to be a feature of double clicking a tab. So I guess it's my fault, I'm sure I'm clicking around too fast and mistakenly double clicking a tab, but it happens often enough on what I'd consider a normal editing session that I've come to absolutely loathe it, and even after the usual googling due diligence cannot figure out how to turn it off. From this post (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/594659/eclipses-tab-double-click-on-visual-studio) someone mentions the Window.AutoHideAll shortcut, however that seems to only be for assigning keyboard shortcuts--this is a mouse click thing. But maybe it's a clue. I can't find anything relevant under Eclipse - Preferences - PHP. I don't think it's specific to PHP because if I switch to the Java perspective, double clicking a tab hides the Package Explorer. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

• Android and PHP - Do I need to use sessions?

  I have created an Android App that communicates with a PHP web server. They both send JSON to each other. My App is almost finished, however there is one thing left to do: authentication. Since the user's username and password will be stored in Android SharedPreferences, is there any need to use PHP sessions, given that the user won't need to enter the username/password at every request? Since I can just send the username and password in the HTTP POST header for every request, and that I will be using SSL, is this sufficient? I guess I could add an extra field in the header called 'random' that just adds a random value, just to use as a salt so that the encrypted SSL payload will be different everytime. The reason why I don't want to use sessions is that my Android App would either have to handle cookies, or managed the storage of the session ID. If there are some serious cons to using my method above, then I'm more than happy to use sessions, however all advice is appreciated. Thanks
