• Mac internal mic not working with Xlite

  I've used xlite for a while now but all of the sudden the internal mic from my mac stopped to work with it. It does call, and you can see the red bar rising but the other person can't hear a thing. The mic does work when using Skype so I think it's a problem with Xlite Things I've already tried: Reconfigure Xlite Reinstall Xlite Install Xlite Beta (After every step I rebooted the macbook) Obviously none of them worked.   I've backup from my Gmail account at Outlook 2010 beta. I see a pst file which is equal file size with my Gmail used storage. Is this file enough to protect my mails or do I need additional files or whatever? I'm not a regular outlook user. I've read this but I don't think I'm using "Signatures, Templates, Stationery etc."...

  Starting around the time I installed the Office 2010 Beta, Whenever I login, Windows tries to open a file named "Bob", coincidentally the first part of my username. Selecting Notepad to open it, and it contains TCP/IP network settings. I've looked for and deleted unrecognized entries in my StartUp folder, in HKLM/.../CurrentVersion/Run and in HKCU/.../CurrentVersion/Run with no luck. Is there any other place I should be looking for errant entries?

  Win 7 Pro SP1 x64 EVGA Geforce GTX 670 FTW 2gb Geforce Driver: 320.49, it did happen with the previous version of the driver as well Chrome Version 28.0.1500.52 beta-m DirectX: 11 I was looking in chrome://gpu which told me that "Rasterization: Software only. Hardware acceleration disabled." and further down "Accelerated rasterization has not been enabled or is not supported by the current system." Is there a way to enable hardware acceleration?

• Untraceable malicious browser calls

  I installed Fiddler 4 Beta to do some HTTP tracing. I found a lot of calls being made to sites like : facebook, collegehumor and a bunch of other sites I've never visited. Could not trace what/who is initiating these calls as I do not see any Windows Processes. No one else is connected to my network. I use both Google Chrome and IE10 on a Windows 7 box. Please help me tracing and removing these malicious HTTP calls.

• Can I copy a cross compiler tool chain between systems (I did before)?

  I tested fairly extensively with Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 2 Server in a VM, and was able to simply copy (read tar x) a cross compiled tool chain from an Ubuntu 8.10 VM. I created the tar myself, which is essentially a lot of stuff in \usr\local. Now that I've got a bare metal installation of Ubuntu 10.04 proper, the copy isn't working. In particularly, I'm getting the error: $ arm-linux-gcc -bash: /usr/local/bin/arm-linux-gcc: No such file or directory I've got the systems side by side in SSH windows ... any suggestions?

• Synergy: Is there a way to push Win+L to all screens, not just the server?

  When I hit Win+L on either of my machines I'd ideally like to be able to lock both client and server What happens though is no matter which screen I hit the key combination... it locks the server. I'm guessing the OS is trapping the key sequence before it can get passed to the app to manage, so I'm happy to use a different key sequence as long as the result will be the same Synergy 1.4.2 64 bit Beta

  I've managed to configure my test Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 2 Server VM to accept logins (via ssh) from users who have domain accounts in active directory via Kerberos, nsswitch.conf and PAM configurations. The final thing I'd like to happen is locating their home directory on a Windows server share. Each domain account ($USER) has a windows share ala: \\winsrvr\users\$USER. Can someone push me in the direction I need to go?

• Uuntu 9.10 will not boot

  After an update yesterday my Dell X300 will only boot to a screen with an option to perform 2 memory tests. If I perform these tests, it will only go back to this same screen, offering a choice of memory test again, 86+ or 86+ serial console 115200. This screen is headed - GNU Grub version 1.97 beta 4. This is a full install on my hard drive. How can I get back to booting normally?

It loses Skype (as well as any other application) when it goes minimized to system tray (notification area). Can I disable Skype from minimizing to system tray favouring Win7-like behaviour? Skype version I use is 2.1 beta, but I would not mind reinstalling it in favour of another version. I use Arch Linux with all the latest kernel, x.org and xfce.

• Cannot access the EC2 server - permissions problems, ssh is dead

  One of our developers worked on a beta server and accidentally changed the permissions of the whole system (chmod /) to root. Due to that, services are unable to access files, and we can't ssh to the machine (permission denied on the key) (UPDATE: ssh is dead after reboot, probably can't start). Does Amazon has an option to browse files / physically access the machine? Any other creative solution?

  FC11 beta upgraded to FC12. When I do yum list I see listing on the far right column as follows: 'fedora' 'installed' and '@fedora'. Previously I never had '@fedora' and only seemed to appear when I upgraded from FC11-FC12. Also when i look at the kernels installed I have kernel-PAE 2.6.30-0.97.rc.fc12 installed kernel-PAE 2.6.31.5-127.fc12 @fedora Why do I have two entries?

Eg if in Chrome (beta v9, OSX Snow Leopard) I double click on the text define:superuser, and I click on the superuser part of that line, it should only select superuser, not the whole thing.   I am developing a chess program. And have made use of an alpha beta algorithm and a static evaluation function. I have successfully implemented both but I want to improve the evaluation function by automatically tuning the weights assigned to its features. At this point am totally confused about the policy suitable for updating the weights of the function. One policy I have in mind is to check whether a move is good or bad before updating weights but I really know how to implement it. Thus I need ideas and pseudo code please.
