• Monitor occasionally doesn't display properly

  Hi, I am using dual monitors, and this behavior has occured on 2 different computers (using the same monitors). When I turn the monitors off, and then on again after a while, 1 monitor turns on, displays the Dell logo etc. but doesn't display the windows login. It is just a blank page, and then the green light turns orange. Turning it on/off many times or just waiting a while eventually results in it working again, but I am very confused why!

The socket path I got from the JSON config file which also says chmod-socket: 666 so I have a hunch that the problem is permission based. I open the run window type mstsc /multimon and press enter, also "use all my monitors for the remote session" is checked.By this way RDC is opening but only in one monitor.Do I need to do any changes on host too? I have tried /span attribute and it worked but I don't want it.

  I have dynamic content that I've configured output caching upon. Based on my tests it doesn't seem like IIS is seeing the content as cache-worthy. How can I monitor what IIS is doing? It appears as though PerfMon has some counters I'm interested in, but I'm not sure which ones to look at. If my content is not querystring or form parameter based, but URI based will my content not be deemed cache-worthy?

  I'd like to use the native 1920x1200 laptop monitor that comes with the Alienware m17x along with 2 additional external monitors, one through the displayport and another through the hdmi port. Is there any way to do this? And if so how? I've tried to update the nvidia drivers, I've installed ultramon, etc., but I can't seem to make it happen. I've seen posts that suggest it's possible, but I can't seem to figure out how.

Here is what I am trying - virsh qemu-monitor-command -hmp VM_NAME wavcapture VM.wav This is the output I am getting : Failed to open wave file `vm.wav' Reason: Permission denied Failed to add wave capture I have tried to create a dummy vm.wav with 777 permissions. It kind of looks like it is going into power saving mode, then immediately exiting.   I have a server with a faulty power button that likes to reboot itself. Usually there are warning signs, like the acpid log file in /var/log starts spamming garbage for about 10hrs or so. Is there an easy way I can have something monitor the acpid log and email me when it has new activity? I ask this since ec2 instances are basically VPS's, and using output from commands like top, vmstat, htop in scripts may not give the clear picture as the CPU cycles are shared between other instances as well. What should one keep in mind while monitoring CPU usage on a VPS?, should one have alerts based on top load or % of CPU used by user processes coupled with other factors like processes waiting on disk io, hardware interrupts?
