  • How can I get DVDs playing after a Vista to XP change? [closed]

    I replaced my vista install on a Dell Inspiron 1525 with XP and have managed to get most things up and running again however I'm having trouble with playing DVDs. When I try and play a DVD I get the following message: Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card. I have ensured that my drive is configured to play Region 2 discs (I'm in the UK), I've installed the most up to date XP codec pack which makes me think it's a driver issue. In device manager I have got my DVD drivers up to date however under "Other Devices" I'm missing several which sound key: Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus Video Controller Video Controller (VGA Compatible) However I've installed all the relevant drivers I can find on the Dell website. The drive itself is working - I've run software from the drive. I'm afraid I am far from a sys-admin so I'm struggling on this one. How can I get my DVDs playing again?

Now, as soon as the recording is completed, I need to play the recorded voice back to the user before posting it to the server. Is it at all possible to play it back to the user without getting into format conversions etc? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks!

  • GWT & HTML5 Video in Mobile Safari

    I'm trying to code a site in GWT that plays videos with HTML5. Everything works great on the desktop, but mobile Safari on both the iPhone and iPad do not play the video. I can play a video using Video for Everybody. I've even copied the code to my own plain HTML page, and it works flawlessly. If I serve that same code via a GWT widget, mobile safari will not play the video. On the iPhone I see a gray box with a prohibitory sign around the play button, and on the iPad it shows up as a black box. I've made sure my doctype is <!DOCTYPE html>, but I don't know where else to start debugging. Perhaps it it because the code is injected via javascript? Any pointers on where to start looking would be greatly appreciated.   • How do I create midi data to trigger an Ultrabeat pattern in Logic?

    I've made some Ultrabeat patterns but I can't figure out how to trigger them. I make the pattern on C-1, then I go back to the arrange window and hit record and then hit C1 on my keyboard, and it doesn't play the pattern, it just plays a single note. I have Pattern Mode enabled on Ultrabeat and I'm using a one-shot trigger but I can't seem to trigger my pattern to play at all. What am I doing wrong?

    I am using mpmovieplayer in my application.I have a button for playing movie witch has an image of play.But when mpmovieplayer plays movie i can see that button on movie player's overlying controlls like when i pause movie i see my play button instead of movie player's default button.Also i have customized navigation bar and i can see that navbar when movie plays instead of default nav bar.I tried hiding button when playing movie but it didn't worked.Does Someone knows about this issue? also i am having cropping of video issues does someone knows about how to handle video orientation i mean i want full video in any orientation recorded video.Thanks

    Ok, I have an array like so, but it's not guaranteed to be laid out in this order all of the time... $array = array( 'sadness' => array( 'info' => 'some info', 'info2' => 'more info', 'value' => 'value', ), 'happiness' => array( 'info' => 'some info', 'info2' => 'more info', 'value' => 'the value', ), 'peace' => array( 'info' => 'some info', 'info2' => 'more info', 'value' => 'the value', ) ); Ok, and I'd like to throw in this array right after the happiness key is defined. I can't use the key of "peace" since it must go directly after happiness, and peace might not come after happiness as this array changes. All the examples I can find play from files (using AudioFileReadPackets) but in my particular case I am generating the data myself in realtime so ideally, I want to enqueue the data myself rather than sucking it out of a file using the callback.     I have 3 related objects (Entry, GamePlay, Prize) and I'm trying to find the best way to query them for what I need using NHibernate. When a request comes in, I need to query the Entries table for a matching entry and, if found, get a) the latest game play along with the first game play that has a prize attached. Prize is a child of GamePlay and each Entry object has a GamePlays property (IList). Currently, I'm working on a method that pulls the matching Entry and eagerly loads all game plays and associated prizes, but it seems wasteful to load all game plays just to find the latest one and any that contain a prize. Right now, my query looks like this: var entry = session.CreateCriteria<Entry>() .Add(Restrictions.Eq("Phone", phone)) .AddOrder(Order.Desc("Created")) .SetFetchMode("GamePlays", FetchMode.Join) .SetMaxResults(1).UniqueResult<Entry>(); Two problems with this: It loads all game plays up front. With 365 days of data, this could easily balloon to 300k of data per query. It doesn't eagerly load the Prize child property for each game. Therefore, my code that loops through the GamePlays list looking for a non-null Prize must make a call to load each Prize property I check. I'm not an nhibernate expert, but I know there has to be a better way to do this. Ideally, I'd like to do the following (pseudocode): entry = findEntry(phoneNumber) lastPlay = getLatestGamePlay(Entry) firstWinningPlay = getFirstWinningGamePlay(Entry) The end result of course is that I have the entry details, the latest game play, and the first winning game play. The catch is that I want to do this in as few database calls as possible, otherwise I'd just execute 3 separate queries. The object definitions look like: public class Entry { public Guid Id {get;set;} public string Phone {get;set;} public IList<GamePlay> GamePlays {get;set;} // ... other properties } public class GamePlay { public Guid Id {get;set;} public Entry Entry {get;set;} public Prize Prize {get;set;} // ... other properties } public class Prize { public Guid Id {get;set;} // ... other properties } The proper NHibernate mappings are in place, so I just need help figuring out how to set up the criteria query (not looking for HQL, don't use it).
