  • How can I load a view based on how long I hold a UIButton?

    Hello all, I've searched the net and documentation, but haven't found anything quite like what I'm trying to do. I'm working on an app where I want to load one view if a UIButton is held for x seconds, another if it's held for x+y seconds, etc. I found this tutorial. The problem I'm running into is, how do I switch the length of the button press?     The following code works in one script yet in another only works if a specify the -- end of options flag before specifying an option: my $opt; GetOptions( 'help|h' => sub { usage("you want help?? hahaha, hopefully you're not serious!!"); }, 'file|f=s' => \$opt->{FILE}, 'report|r' => \$opt->{REPORT}, ) or usage("Bad Options"); In other words, the same code words in good.pl and bad.pl like so: good.pl -f bad.pl -- -f If I try bad.pl -f I get unknown option:f. Anyone have any clue as to what can cause this behavior? Thanks in advance! I've solved this..... and btw it's a VERY clear question (so why the downvotes)? I'll state it again: What would cause the identical GetOptions block to work in these 2 ways: "good.pl -f" "bad.pl -- -f" see how clear? Maybe you guys should think about it as if it were a TEST!

  • For how long can a file be locked in windows after program is closed?

    In a couple of scripts that I use I have problem that is intermittent. Sometimes the script fails when trying to delete a file. According to the error log due to the file being accessed by an other process. I'm guessing that windows not had time to release the file after the previous operation performed on the file ended. What amount of time would be a good guesstimate after which windows should have had time to release the file again?

My domain ABC.com is currently configured with PHP host whereas my ASP.Net site is using the default 1and1 generated URL (s0987465.onlinehome.us). So my question is, how to display ABC.com for any URL that includes s0987465.onlinehome.us? Example : s0987465.onlinehome.us/test.aspx?id=100 should display ABC.com or ABC.com/test.aspx?id=100 in the address bar by displaying content generated by s0987465.onlinehome.us?

The annotations are getting replaced like they should, but when I touch te mapview my app crashes.   • Swing: what to do when a JTree update takes too long and freezes other GUI elements?

    Hello, everyone! I know that GUI code in Java Swing must be put inside SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait or SwingUtilities.invokeLater. This way threading works fine. Sadly, in my situation, the GUI update it that thing which takes much longer than background thread(s). More specific: I update a JTree with about just 400 entries, nesting depth is maximum 4, so should be nothing scary, right? But it takes sometimes one second! I need to ensure that the user is able to type in a JTextPane without delays. Well, guess what, the slow JTree updates do cause delays for JTextPane during input. It refreshes only as soon as the tree gets updated. I am using Netbeans and know empirically that a Java app can update lots of information without freezing the rest of the UI. How can it be done? NOTE 1: All those DefaultMutableTreeNodes are prepared outside the invokeAndWait. NOTE 2: When I replace invokeAndWait with invokeLater the tree doesn't get updated. NOTE 3: Fond out that recursive tree expansion takes far the most time. NOTE 4: I'm using custom tree cell renderer, will try without and report. NOTE 4a: My tree cell renderer uses a map to cache and reuse created JTextComponents, depending on tree node (as a key). CLUE 1: Wow! Without setting custom cell renderer it's 10 times faster. I think, I'll need few good tutorials on writing custom tree cell renderers.

  • Using Dijkstra's algorithm with negative edges?

    Most books explain the reason the algorithm doesn't work with negative edges as nodes are deleted from the priority queue after the node is arrived at since the algorithm assumes the shortest distance has been found. However since negative edges can reduce the distance, a future shorter distance might be found; but since the node is deleted it cannot be updated. Wouldn't an obvious solution to this be to not delete the node? Why not keep the node in the queue, so if a future shorter distance is found, it can be updated? If I am misunderstanding the problem, what is preventing the algorithm from being used with negative edges?

    Hi, I have the following 2 tables: items: id int primary key bla text events: id_items int num int when timestamp without time zone ble text composite primary key: id_items, num and want to select to each item the most recent event (the newest 'when'). I wrote an request, but I don't know if it could be written more efficiently. Also on PostgreSQL there is a issue with comparing Timestamp objects: 2010-05-08T10:00:00.123 == 2010-05-08T10:00:00.321 so I select with 'MAX(num)' Any thoughts how to make it better? Thanks.     My Table: [LocationId] [Address] [ZipCode] When I show a list of Location's, I also want to show the distance from a given zip code. In Asp.Net Web Forms I had a stored procedure that would return the distance and I would call this SP on ItemDataBound on my GridView. Or, I also would have my SP that is returning the Location list add another column ([Distance]) which I could display in my GridView. How would you do this using Entity Framework and Asp.Net Mvc 2?

  • Swing: what to do when a GUI update takes too long and freezes other GUI elements?

    Hello, everyone! I know that GUI code in Java Swing must be put inside SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait or SwingUtilities.invokeLater. This way threading works fine. Sadly, in my situation, the GUI update it that thing which takes much longer than background thread(s). More specific: I update a JTree with about just 400 entries, nesting depth is maximum 4, so should be nothing scary, right? But it takes sometimes one second! I need to ensure that the user is able to type in a JTextPane without delays. Well, guess what, the slow JTree updates do cause delays for JTextPane during input. It refreshes only as soon as the tree gets updated. I am using Netbeans and know empirically that a Java app can update lots of information without freezing the rest of the UI. How can it be done? NOTE 1: All those DefaultMutableTreeNodes are prepared outside the invokeAndWait. NOTE 2: When I replace invokeAndWait with invokeLater the tree doesn't get updated.
