  • Query not being executed

    - by user2385241
    I'm trying to create a script that allows me to upload an image, grab the details sent through inputs (a description and chosen project number) and insert this information into a table. I currently have this function: public function NewEntry() { $connect = new dbconnect; $_SESSION['rnd'] = substr(number_format(time() * rand(),0,'',''),0,15); $allowedExts = array("gif", "jpeg", "jpg", "png"); $size = $_FILES["file"]["size"]; $path = $_FILES["file"]["name"]; $extension = pathinfo($path, PATHINFO_EXTENSION); $pr = $_POST['project']; $cl = $_POST['changelog']; $file = $_SESSION['rnd'] . "." . $extension; if (in_array($extension, $allowedExts) && $size < 200000000) { if ($_FILES["file"]["error"] == 0) { if (!file_exists("../uploads/" . $_SESSION['rnd'])) { move_uploaded_file($_FILES["file"]["tmp_name"], "../uploads/" . $_SESSION['rnd'] . "." . $extension); } } } else { echo "File validation failed."; } $row = $connect->queryExecute("INSERT INTO entries(project,file,changelog)VALUES($pr,$file,$cl)"); header('location:http://www.example.com/admin'); } When the form is posted the function runs, the image uploads but the query isn't executed. The dbconnect class isn't at fault as it's untampered and has been used in past projects. The error logs don't give any output and no MySQL errors show. Any ideas?

  • Problems Expanding an Array in C++

    - by dxq
    I'm writing a simulation for class, and part of it involves the reproduction of organisms. My organisms are kept in an array, and I need to increase the size of the array when they reproduce. Because I have multiple classes for multiple organisms, I used a template: template <class orgType> void expandarray(orgType* oldarray, int& numitems, int reproductioncount) { orgType *newarray = new orgType[numitems+reproductioncount]; for (int i=0; i<numitems; i++) { newarray[i] = oldarray[i]; } numitems += reproductioncount; delete[] oldarray; oldarray = newarray; newarray = NULL; } However, this template seems to be somehow corrupting my data. I can run the program fine without reproduction (commenting out the calls to expandarray), but calling this function causes my program to crash. The program does not crash DURING the expandarray function, but crashes on access violation later on. I've written functions to expand an array hundreds of times, and I have no idea what I screwed up this time. Is there something blatantly wrong in my function? Does it look right to you? EDIT: Thanks for everyone's help. I can't believe I missed something so obvious. In response to using std::vector: we haven't discussed it in class yet, and as silly as it seems, I need to write code using the methods we've been taught.

  • (closed) nodejs responding an image (via pipe and response.end()) leads into strange behaviour

    - by johannesboyne
    What the Problem was: I had 2 different writeStreams! If WriteStram#1 is closed, the second should be closed too and then it all should be piped... BUT node is asynchronious so while one has been closed, the other one hasn't. Even the stream.end() was called... well you always should wait for the close event! thx guys for your help! I am at my wit's end. I used this code to pipe an image to my clients: req.pipe(fs.createReadStream(__dirname+'/imgen/cached_images/' + link).pipe(res)) it does work but sometimes the image is not transferred completely. But no error is thrown neither on client side (browser) nor on server side (node.js). My second try was var img = fs.readFileSync(__dirname+'/imgen/cached_images/' + link); res.writeHead(200, { 'Content-Type' : 'image/png' }); res.end(img, 'binary'); but it leads to the same strange behaviour... Does anyone got a clue for me? Regards! (abstracted code...) var http = require('http'); http.createServer(function (req, res) { Imgen.generateNew( 'virtualtwins/www_leonardocampus_de/overview/28', 'www.leonardocampus.de', 'overview', '28', null, [], [], function (link) { fs.stat(__dirname+'/imgen/cached_images/' + link, function(err, file_info) { if (err) { console.log('err', err); } console.log('file info', file_info.size); res.writeHead(200, 'image/png'); fs.createReadStream(__dirname+'/imgen/cached_images/' + link).pipe(res); }); } ); }).listen(13337, '127.0.0.1'); Imgen.generateNew just creates a new file, saves it to the disk and gives back the path (link)

  • Effect.toggle and AJAX Calls

    - by kunalsawlani
    Hi, I am using the following code to capture all the AJAX calls being made from my app, in order to show a busy spinner till the call is completed. It works well when the requests are well spaced out. However, when the request are made in quick successions, some of the AJAX calls do not get registered, or the onCreate and onComplete actions get kicked off at the same time, and more often than not, the busy spinner continues to appear on the screen, after all the calls have successfully completed. Is there any check I can perform at the end of the call, to check if the element is visible, I can hide it. document.observe("dom:loaded", function() { $('loading').hide(); Ajax.Responders.register({ //When an Ajax call is made. onCreate: function() { new Effect.toggle('loading', 'appear'); new Effect.Opacity('display-area', { from: 1.0, to: 0.3, duration: 0.7 }); }, onComplete: function() { new Effect.toggle('loading', 'appear'); new Effect.Opacity('display-area', { from: 0.3, to: 1, duration: 0.7 }); } }); }); Thanks!

  • Receiving "expected expression before" Error When Using A Struct

    - by Zach Dziura
    I'm in the process of creating a simple 2D game engine in C with a group of friends at school. I'd like to write this engine in an Object-Oriented way, using structs as classes, function pointers as methods, etc. To emulate standard OOP syntax, I created a create() function which allocates space in memory for the object. I'm in the process of testing it out, and I'm receiving an error. Here is my code for two files that I'm using to test: test.c: #include <stdio.h> int main() { typedef struct { int i; } Class; Class *test = (Class*) create(Class); test->i = 1; printf("The value of \"test\" is: %i\n", test->i); return 0; } utils.c: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include "utils.h" void* create(const void* class) { void *obj = (void*) malloc(sizeof(class)); if (obj == 0) { printf("Error allocating memory.\n"); return (int*) -1; } else { return obj; } } void destroy(void* object) { free(object); } The utils.h file simply holds prototypes for the create() and destroy() functions. When I execute gcc test.c utils.c -o test, I'm receiving this error message: test.c: In function 'main': test.c:10:32: error: expected expression before 'Class' I know it has something to do with my typedef at the beginning, and how I'm probably not using proper syntax. But I have no idea what that proper syntax is. Can anyone help?

  • JQuery/AJAX: Loading external DIVs using dynamic content

    - by ticallian
    I need to create a page that will load divs from an external page using Jquery and AJAX. I have come across a few good tutorials, but they are all based on static content, my links and content are generated by PHP. The main tutorial I am basing my code on is from: http://yensdesign.com/2008/12/how-to-load-content-via-ajax-in-jquery/ The exact function i need is as follows: Main page contains a permanent div listing some links containing a parameter. Upon click, link passes parameter to external page. External page filters recordset against parameter and populates div with results. The new div contains a new set of links with new parameters. The external div is loaded underneath the main pages first div. Process can then be repeated creating a chain of divs under each other. The last div in the chain will then direct to a new page collating all the previously used querystrings. I can handle all of the PHP work with populating the divs on the main and external pages. It's the JQuery and AJAX part i'm struggling with. $(document).ready(function(){ var sections = $('a[id^=link_]'); // Link that passes parameter to external page var content = $('div[id^=content_]'); // Where external div is loaded to sections.click(function(){ //load selected section switch(this.id){ case "div01": content.load("external.php?param=1 #section_div01"); break; case "div02": content.load("external.php?param=2 #section_div02"); break; } }); The problem I am having is getting JQuery to pass the dynamically generated parameters to the external page and then retrieve the new div. I can currently only do this with static links (As above).

    I'm very new to flash and I really have no idea what I'm doing. Thank you in advance. its giving me that error after I click a button to go to another frame. After I get the error, some buttons do not go to its destination and instead it just does nothing. The error is as follows: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at wmhssports_fla::MainTimeline/frame39() Here is the code for frame 39: stop(); winter_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClick1); function buttonClick1(event:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndPlay(39); }; spring_btn_boys.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClick10); function buttonClick10(event:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndPlay(114); }; fall_btn_boys.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClick11); function buttonClick11(event:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndPlay(135); }; Edit: I could email the file to someone, if they could look at it for me? Its REALLY sketchy due to my inexperience with flash, but then again its not that big of a clip. email me at: [email protected]

  • Ruby - RegEx problem or maybe another solution altogether

    - by r3nrut
    Ok the problem I'm having is that I have a block of javascript I've successfully scraped out of a websites source and now I have to sift through the js to get the specific values I'm looking for. Below is the chunk i'm needing to deal with. I need to find "flvFileName" and get all the file names listed. In this case its: trailer1,trailer2,trailer3. At first I started using regex to match the start and end tags and them match the file names and extract them to an array but the problem is that there isn't always 3 videos in the list. Could be 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. So matching doesn't work. Any thoughts on a way to approach this that won't make me continue to abuse my laptop? ["", "\r\n", "\n", "\r\n function IgnoreEnter(e) {\r\n var code;\r\n if (!e) // IE\r\n {\r\n var e = window.event;\r\n }\r\n if (e.keyCode) {\r\n code = e.keyCode;\r\n }\r\n else if (e.which) // Firefox, Opera\r\n {\r\n code = e.which;\r\n }\r\n\r\n if (code == 13) {\r\n e.cancelBubble = true;\r\n e.returnValue = false;\r\n }\r\n }\r\n\r\n function ResetDefault() {\r\n __defaultFired = false;\r\n }\r\n", "", "\r\n// <![CDATA[\r\n$(doc).ready(function () { $('#VideoObject').flash({ swf: '/scinema/video.swf', height: 300, width: 480, hasVersion: 8, menu: false, wmode: 'transparent', bgcolor: '#000',flashvars: {flvFileName: 'trailer1,trailer2,trailer3', age: 'no', isForced: 'true'} }); });

  • Binding Javascript Event Handlers to a an Ajax HTML Response?

    - by John
    Let's say I have the following HTML code <div id="outer"> <div id="inner">Hello World</div> </div> At the end of my HTML page, I use javascript to attach event handlers like so, document.getElementById('inner').onclick = function() {alert(this.innerHTML);} document.getElementById('outer').onclick = function() { /* An Ajax Call where the response, which will be a string of HTML content, then goes into document.getElementById('outer').innerHTML */ document.getElementById('inner').onclick = function() {alert(this.innerHTML);} } In the above code, I am expecting <div id="inner">Hello World 2</div> to come back which requires me to re-attach the onclick event handler. This makes sense because the new response coming back is just a string, and I have to tell the browser that after converting to DOM, i also need some event handlers So my question is, is there a better way to manage event handlers on AJAX response that contains HTML content? I could use inline javascript within the html response, but then it prevents me from achieving non-intrusive javascript. So is there a way to achieve non-intrusive javascript and an efficient way to "maintain" event handlers of ajax html responses?

  • What are the benefits of a classical structure over a prototyple one?

    - by Rixius
    I have only recently started programming significantly, and being completely self-taught, I unfortunately don't have the benefits of a detailed Computer science course. I've been reading a lot about JavaScript lately, and I'm trying to find the benefit in classes over the prototype nature of JavaScript. The question seems to be drawn down the middle of which one is better, and I want to see the classical side of it. When I look at the prototype example: var inst_a = { "X": 123, "Y": 321, add: function () { return this.X+this.Y; } }; document.write(inst_a.add()); And then the classical version function A(x,y){ this.X = x; this.Y = y; this.add = function(){ return this.X+this.Y; }; }; var inst_a = new A(123,321); document.write(inst_a.add()); I begun thinking about this because I'm looking at the new ecmascript revision 5 and a lot of people seem up in arms that they didn't add a Class system.

  • Execute client & server side code with one click?

    - by Abu Hamzah
    i am not sure if my design have flaw but would like to know what others have to say, i am in a situation where i am trying to acheive two things in one click. using : asp.net web form i have a web form with few textbox and a gridview control and a button. if i click on the button i am executing two things 1) asynchronously get data from server to client (working great) and able to display the data in the textboxes. 2) same click i want to bind the gridview. <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="cphMaster" runat="server"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID='Label1' >Id:</asp:Label> <asp:TextBox ID="txtId" runat='server'></asp:TextBox> <asp:Button ID="btnSubmit" OnClientClick="LoadDataById();" runat="server" Text="Submit" onclick="btnSubmit_Click" /> <br /> <br /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtName" runat='server'></asp:TextBox> <br /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtPurpose" runat='server'></asp:TextBox> <br /> <br /> <asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server"> </asp:GridView> </asp:Content> server side protected void btnSubmit_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { GridView1.DataSource = laodData(int.Parse(txtId.Text)); GridView1.DataBind(); } Jquery: function LoadVisitBasicByVisitId() { ContactServiceProxy.invoke({ serviceMethod: "GetDataById", data: { request: request }, callback: function(response) { processCompletedContactStore(response); }, error: function(xhr, errorMsg, thrown) { postErrorAndUnBlockUI(xhr, errorMsg, thrown); } }); return false; } recap: 1) jquery script execute asynchronously to get data from server to client and display in the textboxes 2) server side code to bind the gridview.

  • innerText/textContent vs. retrieving each text node

    - by J-P
    I've heard that using el.innerText||el.textContent can yield unreliable results, and that's why I've always insisted on using the following function in the past: function getText(node) { if (node.nodeType === 3) { return node.data; } var txt = ''; if (node = node.firstChild) do { txt += getText(node); } while (node = node.nextSibling); return txt; } This function goes through all nodes within an element and gathers the text of all text nodes, and text within descendants: E.g. <div id="x">foo <em>foo...</em> foo</div> Result: getText(document.getElementById('x')); // => "foo foo... foo" I'm quite sure there are issues with using innerText and textContent, but I've not been able to find a definitive list anywhere and I am starting to wonder if it's just hearsay. Can anyone offer any information about the possibly lacking reliability of textContent/innerText? EDIT: Found this great answer by Kangax -- http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1359469/innertext-works-in-ie-but-not-in-firefox/1359822#1359822

  • jQuery not working as expected on HTTPS Internet explorer

    - by jat
    When I try to run my code on any other webbrowsers apart from the Internet explorer it works fine. But when I try to run the code on Internet explorer I do get an alert box saying HERE along with an Ok button. but the problem is when I click on that OK button I do not get anything. Ideally I should be getting another alert box. <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <script src="js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#submit").click(function(event) { alert("here"); $.post('process.php', {name:'test1',email:'test.com'}, function(data) { $('#results').html(data); alert(data); }); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <form name="myform" id="myform" action="" method="POST"> <label for="name" id="name_label">Name</label> <input type="text" name="name" id="name" size="30" value=""/> <br> <label for="email" id="email_label">Email</label> <input type="text" name="email" id="email" size="30" value=""/> <br> <input type="button" name="submit" id="submit" value="Submit"> </form> <div id="results"><div> </body> </html> Any help on this is very much appreciated. Edit: I found out that Internet Explorer which has HTTP works perfectly fine but not on Internet Explorer which uses HTTPS.

  • jQuery replacement for Default Button or Link

    - by pyccki
    As everyone knows, that default button doesn't work in FF, only IE. I've tried to put in the tag or in the and it's not working. I've found a js script to fix this issue, but for some reason it's not working for me. This script for a submit button, i need to use it for a LinkButton, which is should be the same. Link: <div id="pnl"> <a id="ctl00_cphMain_lbLogin" title="Click Here to LogIn" href="javascript:WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions(&quot;ctl00$cphMain$lbLogin&quot;, &quot;&quot;, true, &quot;Login1&quot;, &quot;&quot;, false, true))">Log In</a> <input name="ctl00$cphMain$UserName" type="text" id="ctl00_cphMain_UserName" /> <input name="ctl00$cphMain$UserName" type="text" id="ctl00_cphMain_UserName1" /> </div> <script> $(document).ready(function() { $("#pnl").keypress(function(e) { if ((e.which && e.which == 13) || (e.keyCode && e.keyCode == 13)) { $("a[id$='_lbLogin']").click(); return true; } }); }); I know that i can override original function "*WebForm_FireDefaultButton*" in This post, but i really wanted to get this one to work. Thanx in advance!!!

  • Show a number with specified number of significant digits

    - by dreeves
    I use the following function to convert a number to a string for display purposes (don't use scientific notation, don't use a trailing dot, round as specified): (* Show Number. Convert to string w/ no trailing dot. Round to the nearest r. *) Unprotect[Round]; Round[x_,0] := x; Protect[Round]; shn[x_, r_:0] := StringReplace[ ToString@NumberForm[Round[N@x,r], ExponentFunction->(Null&)], re@"\\.$"->""] (Note that re is an alias for RegularExpression.) That's been serving me well for years. But sometimes I don't want to specify the number of digits to round to, rather I want to specify a number of significant figures. For example, 123.456 should display as 123.5 but 0.00123456 should display as 0.001235. To get really fancy, I might want to specify significant digits both before and after the decimal point. For example, I might want .789 to display as 0.8 but 789.0 to display as 789 rather than 800. Do you have a handy utility function for this sort of thing, or suggestions for generalizing my function above? Related: Suppressing a trailing "." in numerical output from Mathematica

  • Alternating table row color, but with 2 rows of data

    - by PixelMuse
    I've got my table setup for Zebra striping, but how do I accomplish making the row color alternate for 2 rows instead of a single row? My data markup looks like this: <tr> <td>@task.TaskNum</td> <td>@task.RepiarTime</td> <td>Priority Club</td> <td>SD</td> <td>Commercial</td> <td>Reg Commercial</td> <td>After Hours</td> </tr> <tr><td colspan="7"> @task.Description.ToString() </td></tr> I am using this to stripe it: $(document).ready(function () { $(".stripeMe tr").mouseover(function () { $(this).addClass("over"); }).mouseout(function () { $(this).removeClass("over"); }); $(".stripeMe tr:even").addClass("alt"); });

  • jQuery toggle content-div from menubar

    - by nuclearsugar
    I'm having trouble getting jQuery to allow only one content-DIV to be visible at a time. So that clicking between the menu buttons (about, newsletter, contact) this will allow only one content-DIV to be visible. --- Then the content-DIV needs to hide when the associated menu button is clicked (like it does currently). --- Upon clicking the header 'alliteration', any content-DIVs that are open need to hide. http://home.jasonfletcher.info/all/alliteration/index.html $('#collapse_about').hide(); $('#collapse_newsletter').hide(); $('#collapse_contact').hide(); $('#menu1').click(function() { $('#collapse_about').slideToggle(400); return false; }); $('#menu2').click(function() { $('#collapse_newsletter').slideToggle(400); return false; }); $('#menu3').click(function() { $('#collapse_contact').slideToggle(400); return false; }); I understand that this is a pretty simple bit of code... but the form of it evades me. • C++ Type error with Object versus Object reference

    - by muddybruin
    I have the following function (which worked in Visual Studio): bool Plane::contains(Vector& point){ return normalVector.dotProduct(point - position) < -doubleResolution; } When I compile it using g++ version 4.1.2 , I get the following error: Plane.cpp: In member function âvirtual bool Plane::contains(Vector&)â: Plane.cpp:36: error: no matching function for call to âVector::dotProduct(Vector)â Vector.h:19: note: candidates are: double Vector::dotProduct(Vector&) So as you can see, the compiler thinks (point-position) is a Vector but it's expecting Vector&. What's the best way to fix this? I verified that this works: Vector temp = point-position; return normalVector.dotProduct(temp) < -doubleResolution; But I was hoping for something a little bit cleaner. I heard a suggestion that adding a copy constructor might help. So I added a copy constructor to Vector (see below), but it didn't help. Vector.h: Vector(const Vector& other); Vector.cpp: Vector::Vector(const Vector& other) :x(other.x), y(other.y), z(other.z), homogenous(other.homogenous) { }

  • Send form with jQuery using keypress()

    - by kexxcream
    What I have so far: I have a form in PHP that contain the following: <input type="submit" id="0" name="0" value="This button"> <input type="submit" id="1" name="1" value="This button"> <input type="hidden" id="response" name="response" value="150"> The problem: I would like to send the response value together with either name=1 or name=0, depending on which button the user submit. However, this should be done using the keyboard letters A and S. If a user press the letter A then the value 0 should be submitted, and if S is pressed then the value 1 should be sent. The jQuery code: $(document).ready(function() { // listens for any navigation keypress activity $(document).keypress(function(e) { switch(e.which) { // user presses the "a" case 97: submitViaKeypress("0"); break; // user presses the "s" key case 115: submitViaKeypress("1"); break; } }); }); // shows a given element and hides all others function submitViaKeypress(element_id) { var response = $('#response').attr('value'); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "initiate.php", data: "response=" + response + "&" + element_id + "=" + element_id }); } Goal: That "initiate.php receive two POST variables (response and either 0 or 1).

  • javascript var assignment conversion to target type

    - by pbhd
    searching for a function, which converts rhs to the type of lhs. e.g. var x=false // x is boolean now; x=assign (x, "true"); //should convert "true" to boolean and return that x=assign (x, 1); // dto, convert 1 to true x=0 // x is number x=assign (x, "123"); // should convert "123" to 123; so such a function can be written, thats not the question. But: Is there somewhere a somehow complete implementation of such a thing? I started with something like that: function assign (v, x) { if (typeof v==typeof x) { return x; } switch (typeof v) { case 'boolean' : { return x=='true'?true:false; } case 'number' : { return parseFloat(x); } } return "xxx"; } var v=true; var x='true'; var r1=assign (v, x); console.log (typeof r1+ " "+r1); v=10; x="123"; var r1=assign (v, x); console.log (typeof r1+ " "+r1); which of course is not complete, but maybe shows what I'm goig for.

    I have a jQuery script running that makes a periodic AJAX call using the following code. var a = moment(); var dayOfMonth = a.format("MMM Do"); var timeSubmitted = a.format("h:mm a"); var count_cases = -1; var count_claimed = -1; setInterval(function(){ //check if new lead was added to the db $.ajax({ type : "POST", url : "inc/new_lead_alerts_process.php", dataType: 'json', cache: false, success : function(response){ $.getJSON("inc/new_lead_alerts_process.php", function(data) { if (count_cases != -1 && count_cases != data.count) { window.location = "new_lead_alerts.php?id="+data.id; } count_cases = data.count; }); } }); This is the PHP that runs with each call: $count = mysql_fetch_array(mysql_query("SELECT count(*) as count FROM leads")); $client_id = mysql_fetch_array(mysql_query("SELECT id, client_id FROM leads ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 1")); echo json_encode(array("count" => $count['count'], "id" => $client_id['id'], "client_id" => $client_id['client_id'])); I need to change the code so that the alert only triggers when a new entry is added to the database, not when an existing entry is removed. As it stands, the alert fires on both events. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • What is a good solution to log the deletion of a row in MySQL?

    - by hobodave
    Background I am currently logging deletion of rows from my tickets table at the application level. When a user deletes a ticket the following SQL is executed: INSERT INTO alert_log (user_id, priority, priorityName, timestamp, message) VALUES (9, 4, 'WARN', NOW(), "TICKET: David A. deleted ticket #6 from Foo"); Please do not offer schema suggestions for the alert_log table. Fields: user_id - User id of the logged in user performing the deletion priority - Always 4 priorityName - Always 'WARN' timestamp - Always NOW() message - Format: "[NAMESPACE]: [FullName] deleted ticket #[TicketId] from [CompanyName]" NAMESPACE - Always TICKET FullName - Full name of user identified by user_id above TicketId - Primary key ID of the ticket being deleted CompanyName - Ticket has a Company via tickets.company_id Situation/Questions Obviously this solution does not work if a ticket is deleted manually from the mysql command line client. However, now I need to. The issues I'm having are as follows: Should I use a PROCEDURE, FUNCTION, or TRIGGER? -- Analysis: TRIGGER - I don't think this will work because I can't pass parameters to it, and it would trigger when my application deleted the row too. PROCEDURE or FUNCTION - Not sure. Should I return the number of deleted rows? If so, that would require a FUNCTION right? How should I account for the absence of a logged in user? -- Possibilities: Using either a PROC or FUNC, require the invoker to pass in a valid user_id Require the user to pass in a string with the name Use the CURRENT_USER - meh Hard code the FullName to just be "Database Administrator" Could the name be an optional parameter? I'm rather green when it comes to sprocs. Assuming I went with the PROC/FUNC approach, is it possible to outright restrict regular DELETE calls to this table, yet still allow users to call this PROC/FUNC to do the deletion for them? Ideally the solution is usable by my application as well, so that my code is DRY.

  • Backing Bean not getting values sent by javascript

    - by Developer106
    I have three drop down lists whose values are been copied to <h:inputHidden> components by the following JavaScript function: function getBirthDate() { var months = document.getElementById("months") var hidden1 = document.getElementById("formsignup:monthField"); hidden1.value = months.options[months.selectedIndex].text; var days = document.getElementById("days"); var hidden2 = document.getElementById("formsignup:dayField"); hidden2.value = days.options[days.selectedIndex].value; var years = document.getElementById("years"); var hidden3 = document.getElementById("formsignup:yearField"); hidden3.value = years.options[years.selectedIndex].value; } Here are the three <h:inputHidden> components: <h:inputHidden value="#{signupBean.month}" id="monthField"/> <h:inputHidden value="#{signupBean.day}" id="dayField"/> <h:inputHidden value="#{signupBean.year}" id="yearField"/> This is the command button that is supposed to invoke the function that copies the values to the inputs and then submits them to the backing bean. <h:commandButton image="images/images/signup1.png" styleClass="joinnow" id="joinus" action="#{signupBean.save}" onclick="getBirthDate()" /> But they arrive as null in the backing bean. How is this caused and how can I solve it?
