  I'm writing an application that uses a SQL Server 2005 database. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) This code works on XP but not in Vista.. I tryed run Visual Studio in admin mode and moved the mdf file to "user data" folders but the error persists.. Any help? Thanks!

  I'm struggling with a reshape in R. I have 2 types of error (err and rel_err) that have been calculated for 3 different models. This gives me a total of 6 error variables (i.e. err_1, err_2, err_3, rel_err_1, rel_err_2, and rel_err_3). For each of these types of error I have 3 different types of predivtive validity tests (ie random holdouts, backcast, forecast). I would like to make my data set long so I keep the 4 types of test long while also making the two error measurements long. • Delphi SQLite Update causing errors to appear.

  I have used Inserts, selects, updates, deleted without problem all over the program but for some reason this specific section causes it to except and not run the SQL I send it. I am trying to "UPDATE SectionTable(AreaID) VALUES ('+IntToStr(ActClient.AreaID)+') WHERE SectionID='+IntToStr(iCount)" The section with the ID "iCount" exists deffinately. The ActClient.AreaID is "2" and its overwriting null data in the "SectionTable" table. What is the problem here? • Howcome some C++ functions with unspecified linkage build with C linkage?

  This is something that makes me fairly perplexed. I have a C++ file that implements a set of functions, and a header file that defines prototypes for them. When building with Visual Studio or MingW-gcc, I get linking errors on two of the functions, and adding an 'extern "C"' qualifier resolved the error. How is this possible? Explicitly adding "extern 'C'" declarations for only these two resolved the linking error, and the application builds and runs. Adding "extern 'C'" on some other function, such as HandleEnd, introduces a new linking error, so that one is obviously compiled correctly. The implementation file is never modified in any of this, only the prototypes.

• Process.WaitForExit not triggering with __debugbreak

  I'm trying to write a program to test student code against a good implementation. I have a C++ console app that will run one test at a time determined by the command line args and a C# .net forms app that calls the c++ app once for each test. The goal is to be able to detect not just pass/fail for each test, but also "infinite" (5secs) loop and exceptions (their code dying for whatever reason). The problem is that not all errors kill the C++ app. If they corrupt the heap the system calls __debugbreak which pops up a window saying Debug Error! HEAP CORRUPTION DETECTED... My C# app is using Process.WaitForExit(5000) to wait, but this error doesn't count as an exit, so I see a timeout. So my question is, how can I either get the C# app to detect that this is an error OR how can I get the C++ app to die when this error occurs rather than giving a dialog box and asking if I want to debug?

• Can't get node.js built on cygwin

  Following the instructions here: https://github.com/ry/node/wiki/Building-node.js-on-Cygwin-(Windows) I've tried installing on two machines, either of which I'd be happy to get up and running. WinXP On 'make', I get: Build failed: -> task failed <err #2>: {task: libv8.a SConstruct -> libv8.a} According to the instructions, this is caused by having $SHELL set to a Windows style path, but I've set it to /bin/bash and get the same error.   I made an autogenerated movie clip using JES (Jython Environment for Students). I can play it without any problem using playMovie(), but I can't figure out how to have it saved physically on disk. I set the game_id field to Meteor.uuid() to create a unique value that I also route to /game_show/:game_id using iron router. As you can see I'm logging the details of the game, this works fine.   I am creating a program in C++ in which I need to read a text file in. I have included the fstream header file, which allows me to open the file, but having added the include, I now receive countless errors relating to math.h functions. Examples: 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\cmath(19): error C2061: syntax error : identifier 'acosf' 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\cmath(19): error C2059: syntax error : ';' Is there any way I can include the text file reading functions of fstream without compromising the math.h functions? And why does this conflict occur anyway? /Edit/ It seems the errors are in the cmath standard header file.
