• Cannot get NLogViewer to receive msgs from local machine

  I cannot get NLogViewer to receive msgs from local machine. My machine is Windows 7. I am able to get a remote machine to send NLog messages to my local box and NLogViewer on my local box shows the message fine. But, if I run an app locally, and config NLog to spit messages to my local box, NLogViewer doesn't get the messages. Here's my config: <targets> <target name="viewer" xsi:type="NLogViewer" address="udp://localhost:4050"/> </targets> <rules> <logger name="*" minlevel="Info" writeTo="viewer" /> <rules> Is it Windows 7 security? I have config'd Windows Firewall to allow UDP port 4050 inbound and outbound. My apps are an ASP.NET site and a few windows services.

• DLL Config in Mono

  Hi, I'm trying to pick up Svn.NET (http://www.pumacode.org/projects/svndotnet/) library for use in my Mono project. I tried compiling its mockapp - svnmockapp project (http://www.pumacode.org/projects/svndotnet/browser/trunk/SvnMockApp) , I am able to get the references right and get it compiled right. I understand that it references 2 other modules libapr (libapr-1.so.0) and svn_client (libsvn_client-1.so.0) , by which I've created PumaCode.SvnDotNet.dll.config in /bin/Debug . That is all I've done to tried to try to get the mockapp at least outputting something to show that it is indeed interfacing SVN. Nevertheless, it is not working. Commands that are entered that doesn't interface SVN works fine: $ mono SvnTest.exe -usage Usage: SvnTest <subcommand> [options] Short Options: ~?.V Subcommands: add, checkout[co], status[st], update[up] For help on subcommands, use the -?/--help subcommand option. • Crash when trying to get NSManagedObject from NSFetchedResultsController after 25 objects?

  Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to Core Data on iOS, but I think I've been getting better with it. I've been experiencing a bizarre crash, however, in one of my applications and have not been able to figure it out. I have approximately 40 objects in Core Data, presented in a UITableView. When tapping on a cell, a UIActionSheet appears, presenting the user with a UIActionSheet with options related to the cell that was selected. That is, for the first 25 items in the list. • SharePoint SPListItem.ContentType.Name - "Message" vs "Discussion" ?

  I am writing a C# code to find all of our SharePoint Sites that have emails contained in the Email List page. It appears that some of our email messages are SPListItem.ContentType.Name = "Message" and some of our email messages are SPListItem.ContentType.Name = "Discussion" Aside from the confusion, this is forcing my to cycle through mylist.Folders and mylist.Items in two separate loops, so that I don't miss any of the emails. Is this normal? Any idea why this could be happening? There are threads that contains messages of both types.

• Integrate Cppcheck with Emacs

  Is it possible to integrate Cppcheck with Emacs in a more sophisticated way than simply calling the shell command on the current buffer? I would like Emacs to be able to parse Cppcheck's messages and treat them as messages from a compiler (similar to how compile works), such as using C-x ` to visit the targets of Cppcheck's messages. • WCF Message Debugging on Custom Binding

  I've created a custom binding in WCF for a custom MessageEncoder to allow messages to be written as XML using a wider range of encodings than WCF supports out of the box. The encoder appears to be working and I am able to send and receive messages, but I want to verify that the XML message being written is exactly as required by the service I am trying to consume. I've turned on message logging for WCF using the diagnostic trace listeners to output the messages sent and received over the wire to a log file. Unfortunately, for calls using my encoder, the message is displayed as ... stream ... EDIT: I don't think it's anything to do with my custom encoding. I have experimented with my custom binding a little, switching to using the built-in text encoding and http transport. I still don't get a message body logged in the message trace. Is there anything that needs to be specified within a custom binding to enable message logging?

• GNU Smalltalk API?

  I have recently been learning Smalltalk, mainly by going through the tutorial at gnu.org. While it has been really helpful and I have learned a lot, I would really like an extensive smalltalk API where I could view all of the built in objects and which messages they can receive, and what they will do with those messages. The manual has a list of all of the built in objects, but doesn't really explain anything about them. Some are obvious, like an Array, but I still don't know what all the messages are an Array understands. There is a link to a 'class reference' here, which is generated by Smalltalk, but the link is broken. I was wondering if anyone knows of something like this hosted elsewhere, or could point me towards a similar resource.

I have made some of the changes like adding jboss.xml descriptors to EJBs and fixing application.xml of the EAR, but there are still problems when deploying the EAR.   hello, i have an iphone 3g and can successfully send text messages using the PHP mail() function. My issue is that for each message i receive, the "telephone number" associated with the incoming text message changes each time. If possible, I would like to somehow make this number constant so that I can take advantage of iphone's ability to aggregate all text messages from the same telephone number -Otherwise my iphone would be cluttered with messages. • Does it make sense to have more than one UDP Datagram socket on standby? Are "simultaneous" packets

  I'm coding a networking application on Android. I'm thinking of having a single UDP port and Datagram socket that receives all the datagrams that are sent to it and then have different processing queues for these messages. I'm doubting if I should have a second or third UDP socket on standby. Some messages will be very short (100bytes or so), but others will have to transfer files. My concern is, will the Android kernel drop the small messages if it's too busy handling the bigger ones? Update "The latter function calls sock_queue_rcv_skb() (in sock.h), which queues the UDP packet on the socket's receive buffer. If no more space is left on the buffer, the packet is discarded. Filtering also is performed by this function, which calls sk_filter() just like TCP did. Finally, data_ready() is called, and UDP packet reception is completed."

  Hi, I'm not sure how to do this... I have a database which contains a messages and categories tables. The categories table has a field which has a count of the number of messages related to it. Sometimes however I need to deactivate (active = 0) a message, at the moment this doesn't then update the category table... I will implement this is in the end but for the time I would just like to run a script perhaps daily that goes through all the categories, counts up the messages and updates the field. I have written a simple unit test that uses HtmlUnit and my own package. For my own package, I use java.util.Logger. HtmlUnit seems to use commons logging: http://htmlunit.sourceforge.net/logging.html I would like to see console output of my logging messages from java.util.Logger However, it seems that even messages at the info level are not displayed in my Unit Test Results GUI (System.err link), although the HtmlUnit messages are all displayed.   I have a WPF application that calls an API to operate a device (a scanner). This API is COM based, and internally has a hidden window that the scanner sends messsages too. The intent of the API is to turn those windows messages into COM events. The problem is that the WPF application doesn't have a message pump, and therefore none of the messages are being delivered to the hidden window. Therefore none of the events are fired and it looks like the scanner is not responding. How should I create a message loop in the WPF application that will be able to dispatch messages to the invisible window?

  In my website (under development), the members can send messages to each other which are sent directly to their email, now I'm worried that some members can send spam to other members (I have a spam filter but it doesn't give 100% protection as you know), I'm worried that my domain might get blacklisted on Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail or AOL which will cause any messages sent from my domain to end up in the spam folder, this is why I want to add the domain of my website to their whitelists (if they exist). All messages have an id, and might be received out of order. Therefore the class implements the Comparable Interface. What WinForm control would fit to be regurarly updated (with the items in order). I plan to hold the last 500 messages. Should I sort the list and then update the whole form? Or is data binding approriate (concerning performance)?

  We want to implement a "News feed" where a user can see messages broadcasted by her friends, sorted with newest message first. But the feed should reflect changes in her friends list. (If she adds new friends, messages from those should be included in the feed, and if she removes friends their messages should not be included.) If we use the pubsub-test example and attach a recipient list to each message this means a lot of manipulation of the message recipients lists when users connect and disconnect friends. We first modeled publish-subscribe "fan out" using conventional RDBMS thinking. It seemed to work at first, but then, since the IN operator works the way it does, we quickly realized we couldn't continue on that path. We found Brett Slatkin's presentation from last years Google I/O and we have now watched it a few times but it isn't clear to us how to do it with "dynamic" recipient lists. What we need are some hints on how to "think" when modeling this.

If I was to do this in a traditional RDBMS I'd split it out into: Channel (A channel has many users) User (A user has one channel but many messages) Message (A message has a user) The the purpose of this use case, I'd like to assume that there will be typically 5 channels active at one time, each handling at most 5 messages per second. Specific queries that need to be fast: Fetch new messages (based on an bookmark, time stamp maybe, or an incrementing counter?) Post a message to a channel Verify that a user can post in a channel Bearing in mind that the document limit with MongoDB is 4mb, how would you go about designing the schema? What would yours look like? Are there any gotchas I should watch out for?

He says : What to expect when multiple messages arrive at the server? While dealing with multiple messages one has to remember that receive operation can return arbitrary number of bytes being read from the net. Typically that size is from 0 to specified buffer length in the Receive or BeginReceive methods. So, even if I tell BeginReceive to read 100 bytes, it may read less than that and returns??? I am developing a network-enabled software (TCP/IP), and I always receive the same exact number of bytes I asked for. I don't even understand the logic : why would Receive completes asynchronously if it didn't get every byte I asked for ... just keep waiting. Maybe it has something to do with IP vs TCP? When I excute this in ruby, in result set the sent_date is stores as (Tue Apr 20 00:00:00 UTC 2010) messages = Message.find_by_sql(sql) puts messages[0]['sent_date'] puts statement prints "Tue Apr 20 00:00:00 UTC 2010" how to get same date format in mysql result and ruby result set.
