    what is the difference between loadwith and associatewith. From the articles i read it seems that loadwith is used to load addition data (eg all orders for the customers). While AssociateWith is used to filter data. Is that a correct understanding? Also it will be nice if someone can explain this with an example based explanation.

    I'm new to Ninject so what I'm trying may not even be possible but I wanted to ask. I free-handed the below so there may be typos. Let's say I have an interface: public interface IPerson { string FirstName { get; set; } string LastName { get; set;} string GetFullName(); } And a concrete: public class Person : IPerson { public string FirstName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } public string GetFullName() { return String.Concat(FirstName, " ", LastName); } } What I'm used to doing is something like this when I'm retrieving data from arrays or xml: public IEnumerable<IPerson> GetPeople(string xml) { XElement persons = XElement.Parse(xml); IEnumerable<IPerson> people = ( from person in persons.Descendants("person") select new Person { FirstName = person.Attribute("FName").Value, LastName = person.Attribute("LName").Value }).ToList(); return people; } I don't want to tightly couple the concrete to the interface in this manner. I haven't been able to find any information in regards to using Ninject with LINQ to Objects or with object initializers. I may be looking in the wrong places, but I've been searching for a day now with no luck at all. I was contemplating putting the kernel into an singleton instance and seeing if that would work, but I'm not sure that it will plus I've heard that passing your kernel around is a bad thing. I'm trying to implement this in a class library currently. If this is not possible, does anyone have any examples or suggestions as to what the best practice is in this case? Thanks in advance for the help. EDIT: Based on some of the answers I feel I should clarify. Yes, the example above appears short lived but it was simply an example of one piece that I was trying to do. Let's give a bigger picture. Say instead of XML I am gathering all my data through a 3rd party web service and I'm creating an interface for it, the data could be a defined object in the wsdl or it could sometimes be an xml string. IPerson could be used for both the Person object and a User object. I will be doing this inside of a separate class library, because it needs to be portable and will be used in other projects, and handing it to an MVC3 Web Application and the objects will be used in javascript as well.   • Don't display dynamic query in result

    Hi all, Is it possible to hide a dynamic query from the result sets provided from a Stored Procedure? I am using the @@rowcount of the dynamic query to set a variable that is used to determine whether another query runs or not. The other query is used by code that I cannot change - hence why I am changing the Stored Procedure. The dynamic query returns as the first result set from the Stored Procedure is now the result of the dynamic query which currently is "breaking" the calling code. Thanks in advance

  • Trying to limit IMAP folders/mailboxes my iPhone/iPad sees

    (Note: I am using dovecot 1.0.10 on Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS. Yes, I know I need to upgrade before next year :) (Note: The SMTP/IMAP server in question only serves my family, so there's only a very few users. Certainly what I propose below, even it it works, would be a logistical nightmare with any significant number of users). I have noticed (and have confirmed via google) that the iOS mail app is terrible in its handling of IMAP subscriptions, namespaces, etc. For example, my iPhone and iPad will see EVERYTHING (all mailboxes, folders, etc.), whereas clients like Thunderbird, alpine, etc. only see what I tell them to see. This makes it an incredible pain to move mail between mailboxes because I have to scroll through a gazillion things. The mail_location in dovecot.conf is: mail_location = mbox:%h/Mail/:INBOX=/var/mail/%u To get around this, I've been considering doing the following for user foo: Create a dovecot userdb with a foo-ios virtual user in it, whose UID is identical to that of the real (in /etc/passwd) foo user and with a homedir of /home/foo-ios. ln -s /var/mail/foo /var/mail/foo-ios mkdir -p /home/foo-ios/Mail cd /home/foo-ios/Mail ln -s /home/foo/Mail/mailbox-i-want-visible mailbox-i-want-visible Make symlinks for the rest of limited set of mailboxes/folders I want visible to the iOS mail app. chown -R foo:foo /home/foo-ios Change iOS mail app settings to log in as user foo-ios instead of user foo. Will this work or will there be some index/file corruption hell because there will be two sets of indexes (one set living in /home/foo/Mail/.imap and other set living in /home/foo-ios/Mail/.imap) indexing the same underlying mbox files? And I'd be more than happy to hear of a better way to do this with dovecot! (Or to hear that dovecot 2.x works better with iOS devices).

Without actually having to have lowercase property names is that a way to acheive this thought the normal Json function call?

However, are there any good ways of fully testing a sites links to make sure nothing has broken in a release. I know there's link checkers in general, but I'd like to have it be a part of the build process, so a build outright fails if something isn't right.

    linq to sql visual studio Object-Relational designer generates C# entity class names same as the table names (except pluralizing it). so if the table name is authors it generates entity class with name "author". If the table name is Customers it generates class with name "Customer". Is there any option that can be set to make the designer generate entity class names as pascal cased.     I have been trying for a couple of days to set up a Domino 8.5 server. Basically, I want everything to be run inside a local network. Right now I can send email to other user in the Domino directory without any mail address. I am pretty new to all this stuff, so maybe the answer will be really obvious. What I need to do is be able to send a mail from somewhere else to a domino user that will be redirected to his account. On the Domino server, I also have hMailServer installed on port 25. I configured Domino to use port 26. I followed those step to get where I am now. -I have set the Fully qualified Internet host name to "preview.notes". -Smtp Listener task changed to Enabled to turn on the Listener so that the server can receive messages routed via SMTP routing -Setting up SMTP routing within the local Internet domain (http://www.h2l.com/help/help85%5Fadmin.nsf/f4b82fbb75e942a6852566ac0037f284/7f9738a49efc4f58852574d500097b01?OpenDocument) -I modified the person to use the [email protected] address. -I'm using the hMailServer (which have the local "preview.local" domain name) to send mail to [email protected]. When sending mail I got an error telling that the DNS is not set up correctly. Is using the Domino Smtp server instead of hMailServer will solve the problem? I can Telnet the Domino Smtp Server.

    At face value, it would seem that object initializers present a problem for .net 4.0 "code contracts", where normally the invariant should be established by the time the object constructor is finished. Presumably, however, object-initializers require properties to be set after construction is complete. My question is if the invariants of "code contracts" are able to handle object initializers, "as if" the properties were set before the constructor completes? That would be very nice indeed!!

  • Why does my DD-WRT not accept SSH connections from my laptop?

    So, here is my system: I have a 2Wire AT&T modem/router which I use for wireless and a Buffalo router flashed with DD-WRT which is physically attached to the 2Wire and set in the DMZ. I set everything up on the DD-WRT to be able to connect to it using ssh and also so that it forwards ssh requests on a different port to one of the servers behind it. Now, when I am physically connected to the DD-WRT all this works great and as I would want it to. I ssh into the two different ports using the WAN IP of my network, and I get where I expect to land. If, however, I am connected using wi-fi to the 2Wire, the same commands do not work. I do not get an error, simply a timeout. I have trouble understanding this, since the DD-WRT is set in the DMZ and everything should pass to it. To further complicate the problem, I tried connecting to the same IP using my phone (wireless disabled, so really from the WAN) and surprise, it works! If I go back on the local network by enabling the wifi, the ssh connection times out. To make this even stranger, my WAN IP address always responds to pings (meaning in all the above situations). What could be going on here? I know what I should do, completely disable the 2wire as a router and use it strictly as a modem and them use all the routing capabilities of the dd-wrt. It's what I will probably end up doing anyway, but my question remains, because I really want to know what is happening here.

    I want to set up an svn server on my computer, so it's available from anywhere. I think I set up the repository correctly, using CollabSVN. If I go to Repo-Browser with TortoiseSVN and point it to svn://localhost:3690, it shows the proper repository. The problem now is that I'm behind a router. My local IP is 192.168.1.45 . Doing svn://192.168.1.45:3690 also works. My global IP is, say, x.x.x.x. Just doing svn://x.x.x.x:3690 doesn't work, which makes sense, since I have to set up port forwarding. I'm using a Verizon router. Using their web interface (on 192.168.1.1) I added the following port forwarding rule: IP Address forward to: 192.168.1.45 Source Ports: Any Dest Ports: 3690 Forward to: 3690 Protocol: TCP However, even after applying this rule, going to svn://x.x.x.x:3690 doesn't work. It takes a few seconds to fail, then says that the connection couldn't be established because the server connected to didn't respond properly after a period of time. What's interesting is that a random port, like svn://x.x.x.x:36904 fails immediately, saying that the target machine actively refused the connection. So I figure that the forwarding rule did something, but not fully what was necessary. Any ideas on how to get this working? The router model is MI424-WR and the firmware version is 4.0.16.1.56.0.10.12.3. UPDATE: I also tried setting destination port to 45000, and still forwarding to 3690, in case something was wrong w/ the lower-numbered ports, but to no avail. I also tried port 80 to port 3690, still all in vain.

    In rails guides it's described like this: "Objects will be in addition destroyed if they’re associated with :dependent = :destroy, and deleted if they’re associated with :dependent = :delete_all." Right, cool. But what's the difference between being destroyed and being deleted? I tried both and it seems to do the same thing.
