  • emacs/Python: running python-shell in line buffered vs. block buffered mode

    Hi all - In a related question and answer here, someone hypothesized that python-shell within emacs(23.2) was block-buffered instead of line-buffered. The recommended fix was to add sys.stdout.flush() to the spot in my script where I want stdio to flush its contents to the python-shell. Is there someway to trick python-shell (running in emacs 23.2 on Windows, not Linux) into either a) thinking it's attached to a TTY or b) using line-buffered instead of block-buffered mode? I don't see why I'd be able to do this in IDLE but not emacs. I'd rather customize emacs than add sys.stdout.flush() throughout my scripts. Call me lazy :-). Thanks, Mike

  • Mimic Coldfusion's debug output in PHP?

    I'm trying to mimic Coldfusion's debug output in PHP. Here's an example of what it looks like (ie. Execution Time section): I've turned to XDebug. Ideally, the exception stack error output would be what I'd be looking for. However, it only shows up when an exception occurs. I also tried something like (in our CMS-ish app) this (original question here): $content.= "<?php xdebug_start_trace('e:/xdebug/trace');?>"; $content.= "<?php require('".$page['file_'.LG]."'); ?>"; $content.= "<?php xdebug_stop_trace();?>"; ... $content.= "<?php echo readfile('e:/xdebug/trace.xt');?>"; However, I get an insane, browser crashing HTML table dropped at the bottom of page. Not very efficient. My php.ini config: xdebug.trace_format = 2 xdebug.collect_vars = 1 xdebug.collect_params = 4 xdebug.dump_globals = 1 xdebug.dump.SERVER = 'REQUEST_URI' xdebug.show_local_vars = 1 xdebug.show_mem_delta = 1 I'm just wondering if someone has already done something similar?

  • What's special about mouse capture and middle mouse button in WPF?

    When I call CaptureMouse() in response to a MouseDown from the middle mouse button, it will capture and then release the mouse. Huh? I've tried using Preview events, setting Handled=true, doesn't make a difference. Am I not understanding mouse capture in WPF?     Here is data structure w/ variables: struct Part_record { char id_no[3]; int qoh; string desc; double price: }; --- (Using "cin" to input data) --- Part_record null_part = {" ", 0," ",0.0}; --- --- file.seekg( -(long)sizeof(Part_record), ios::cur); file.write( ( char *)&part, sizeof(Part_record) ); The three variables, qoh, Id_no & price, write out correctly, but the "desc" variable is not right. Do I need to initialize Part_record some other way? It should be 20 characters in length. If you have enough info here, pls share your advice,thanks.

    Is it possible to tie nested generics/captures together? I often have the problem of having a Map lookup of class to genericized item of said class. In concrete terms I want something like this (no, T is not declared anywhere). private Map<Class<T>, ServiceLoader<T>> loaders = Maps.newHashMap(); In short, I want loaders.put/get to have semantics something like these: <T> ServiceLoader<T> get(Class<T> klass) {...} <T> void put(Class<T> klass, ServiceLoader<T> loader) {...} Is the following the best I can do?     I expect any good program should do all their reads and writes in a loop until all data written/read without relying that write will write everything (even with regular files). Am I right? Implemented simple FUSE filesystem which only allows reading and writing with small buffers, very often returning that it is written less bytes that in a buffer (using -o direct_io). Some programs work, some not (notably mountlo). Are them buggy or programs should not expect truncated writes and reads from the regular files? In general, are seekable file descriptors expected to truncate data like sockets and pipes?

    Hi I know how to write to console but if I write to console in my program and call my program from the command line it won't display anything. How do I make it so that when I say Console.WriteLine or Console.Out.Writeline ir prints to the command prompt from which it was called and not somewhere else? Once again I know how to do Console.WriteLine so it's not that :-p unless I'm doing it wrong. From what I can tell it's probably something to do with Console.SetOut(TextWriter t)

    This question will probably end in a facepalm, but I've tried for a while and am still stuck despite reading through the hyperspec. Basically what I want to do is something like (format t "~{|~{ ~5d~}|~%~}" '((1 23 2 312) (23 456 1 7890))) but instead of hard-coding the 5 it should be calculated from the list (length of longest element from any nested list + 1) to give something like | 1 23 2 312| | 23 456 1 7890| Maybe I'm thinking way too complicated here and there is an easier way to do what I want, but I think I ran myself into a mental corner that I can't get out of.

  • Get file size of BufferedImage before writing the data

    I'm working on a Java program that needs to send an image (preferably in PNG format, though I could perhaps use another format if necessary) over the network. The logical way to do this is, of course, to first send the length of the PNG image data, then the data itself. Problem: I don't see any method in ImageIO or anywhere else that will give me the length of the image data. Does this exist somewhere in the Java 1.6 standard library? I know I could just write it to a ByteArrayOutputStream and get the length of the resulting array, but before resorting that I wanted to make sure I'm not missing something built in. And besides, that makes an extra copy of the image data, which I'd rather not do if it's not necessary.

  • Possibility of initiating playback of flash video on headless server through the terminal

    Hey so I have a website which has video's gathered from places around the web, primarily youtube but a few other's as well. Now I am wondering if there is some way to check link's to make sure they are still available through a unix shell. (My idea is to run a cron to check videos are still available and if not delete them.) I am aware i could use user to do this but it always bothered me and was wondering if there is somehow to check the playback of a flash video though the terminal . Any insight into this would be awesome as I haven't found much on the web. Also note ideally the tech. will work on all video type's including html5. update So it's occured to me that through the you tube api, I could check the status of the video's coming from youtube (which is a start). But I would love to know if there's something else that is not player specific but rather just calls the video to play similar to how a user would.
