  • Eclipse Debug Mode disrupting SQL Server 2005 Stored Procedure access

    We have a strange problem in our team. When a developer is using Eclipse in Debug mode, SQL Server 2005 blocks other developers from accessing a stored procedure. Debug session typically involves opening Hibernate session to persist an entity which could be accessing a stored procedure used for Primary key generation. Debugging is done in business logic code and rarely in JDBC stored procedure call. Is there any way to configure SQL server or the stored procedure so that other developers are not blocked?

    This site has a script that works in all browsers i tested but Chrome, which i think is strange because it is usually IE that acts up. The error console says Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'toLowerCase' of undefined Uncaught TypeError: Object #<an Object> has no method 'set' however i don't know what to do with this information.   • Firebug is throwing a ' $( ' error?

    I am getting a strange error in Firebug, that I am not getting in Webkit. The error comes up as ' $( ' in firebug. Here's the code that is supposedly causing it to flip: $.getScript("http://kylehotchkiss.com/min/?g=packageHome", function() { $(".countdown").countdown({ until: new Date(2010, 6 - 1, 5), layout:'{dn} {dl}' }); }); The error isn't specific to the countdown script, it's just giving me an error trying to call any plugin I just loaded in firefox.   • Problem storing text to a String[] and then storing the array to a Vector.

    OK so for background I've only been using Java for a little more than a week and I am making a basic GUI "Recipe Book" application just to test out some of the techniques I've learned. Currently I'm working on the "Add New Recipe" page that allows the user to make a new recipe by adding ingredients one at a time. The ingredients have 3 attributes: Name, amount, and unit (like cups, oz, etc) that come from two text fields and a combo box respectively. The 3 values are stores as strings to a String array that represents the ingredient, then the arrays are stored in a vector that holds all of the ingredients for one recipe. When an ingredient is added, the user first types in the 3 necessary values into empty boxes/combo box dropdown and then clicks "Add Ingredient". The first time the user adds an ingredient everything works fine. The second time, the String[] for that ingredient seems to be duplicated, and the third time it's triplicated. Aka the first time it runs the System.out.println might return "{Sugar, 3, Cups}" and the second time it will return "{Flour, 2, Oz.} {Flour, 2, Oz.}" etc. What's causing this strange problem? All help greatly appreciated, let me know if you need any clarification.

    Hi, I would like to know whether or not JAVA is installed and where (path). Perhaps it sounds strange, but my aim is to let BOINC (coded in C++) check the JAVA installation and then start my JAVA app. But therefore I need to know if BOINC can start JAVA natively, or if I have to also send the JRE and then start my app with this not installed JRE.     Project Output Path of the the main application is set to ......\bin\Release\ and was published flawlessly by ClickOnce before. For some strange reason, ClickOnce now fails with the following error: "Could not find file 'obj\Release\EMS.OCC600.Infrastructure.Shell.exe'. c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Microsoft.Common.targets 2341 9 Infrastructure.Shell" Anyone run into this before?     Is there any crossplatform way (Windows, Linux, MacOSX) to change screen resolution? Neither Java nor .Net-Mono can do it. Only through native API invocation. It's very strange situation: there are clear (managed) methods to obtain screen resolution, but method for setting is absent. Is this feature very dangerous or complicated? Does any other crossplatform system (Parrot, RealBasic etc.) do this?

    I've got a rather strange problem. For a Distributed Hash Table I need to be able to do some simple math operations on MD5 hashes. These include a sum (numeric sum represented by the hash) and a modulo operation. Now I'm wondering what the best way to implement these operations is. I'm using hashlib to calculate the hashes, but since the hashes I get are then string, how do I calculate with them?

  • Vim: how to make the text I've just typed uppercase?

    Use case: I've just entered insert mode, and typed some text. Now I want to make it uppercase. It can be done via gUmotion. However, I can't find the motion over the text entered in the recent input session. It's somewhat strange and the concept of such motion is buggy (where to move if you've deleted text, for example?), but it may solve my problem. Or, are there other ways of making uppercase the text you've recently inputted?

Apparently the codename was NGWS: Microsoft started development on the .NET Framework in the late 1990s originally under the name of Next Generation Windows Services (NGWS). [Wikipedia] Does anyone know why they chose the name .NET?
