    I have a JSON object in this format: { "supplier": { "mov_10": "love actually", "mov_1": "fare" }, "quantity": 20, "success": true, "length":2 } Now I want to create a select box below using the supplier object (using both the keys and values), like this: <select id="selectme"> <option id="mov_10">love actually</option> <option id="mov_1">fare</option> </select> So how do I create it? I just want to know how to reach mov_10 and mov_1 in the object. Sorry for my bad English, but please help me. Thanks.

  • Best way to save info in hash

    I have a webpage that the user inputs data into a textarea and then process and display it with some javascript. For example if the user types: _Hello_ *World* it would do something like: <underline>Hello</underline> <b>World</b> Or something like that, the details aren't important. Now the user can "save" the page to make it something like site.com/page#_Hello_%20*World* and share that link with others. My question is: Is this the best way to do this? Is there a limit on a url that I should be worried about? Should I do something like what jsfiddle does? I would prefer not to as the site would work offline if the full text would be in the hash, and as the nature of the site is to be used offline, the user would have to first cache the jsfiddle-like hash before they could use it. What's the best way to do this?

    Hello all, iam stuck now, i really hope if somebody can tell me the problems what i really don't see. The problem is is the menubar works great in Safari,FF,Chrome. But when i open IE8 its so slow when i put my mouse cursor on another menu area.     Hey guys, I'm trying to write some jQuery that will toggle DIVs open and closed, and it's working, but I want an arrow that will change to "down" if the DIV is expanded, and "right" if the DIV is collapsed. What I have so far: $('.toggleHead').click(function() { $('#arrow').attr('src', 'images/icons/down.png'); $(this).next().toggle(); return false; }).next().hide(); Where would I put the other $('#arrow').attr('src', 'images/icons/right.png');?   • "Add another item" form functionality

    I have a form that lets a user enter their career history - it's a very simple form with only 3 fields - type (dropdown), details (textfield) and year (dropdown). Basically I want to include some dynamic functionality whereby the user can enter multiple items on the same page and then submit them all in one go. I had a search on Google and found some examples but they were all based on tables - my markup is based on DIV tags: <div class="form-fields"> <div class="row"> <label for="type">Type</label> <select id="type" name="type"> <option value="Work">Work</option> </select> </div> <div class="row"> <label for="details">Details</label> <input id="details" type="text" name="details" /> </div> <div class="row"> <label for="year">Year</label> <select id="year" name="year"> <option value="2010">2010</option> </select> </div> </div> So basically the 3 DIV tags with class "row" need to be duplicated, or to simplify things - the div "form-fields" could just be duplicated. I am also aware that the input names would have to converted to array format. Additionally each item will require a "remove" button. There will be a main submit button at the bottom which submits all the data. Anyone got an elegant solution for this?

  • URL path changes between dev and published version

    I just got Scott Hanselman's chat app with SignalR working with ASP.NET MVC 4. After hours of configuration, trial and error, and getting different versions of Windows to talk to each other on my home network, it's all working except that I'm left with one issue that I'm not sure how to handle. This line of javascript has to change, depending on if I'm running the app through Visual Studio or the published (IIS) version: Works when running within VS: var connection = $.connection('echo'); Works with published version: var connection = $.connection('ChatWithSignalR/echo'); When I run within VS, the URL is: http://localhost:9145/ And the published version is: http://localhost/ChatWithSignalR If I don't change that line of code, and try to run the app within VS, using the javascript that has ChatWithSignalR in it, I get an error like this: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://localhost:9145/ChatWithSignalR/echo/negotiate?_=1347809290826 What can I do so that I can use the same javascript code and have it work in both scenarios? var connection = $.connection('??????'); Note, this is in my Global.asax.cs: RouteTable.Routes.MapConnection<MyConnection>("echo", "echo/{*operation}");

  • Document width calculated via Javascript is different in Firefox compared to other browsers

    I have a problem with retrieving the current page document width from Mozilla Firefox. While the rest of the browsers report the correct width of the document, Firefox reports a smaller one (example: at screen resolution of 1920x1080 IE, Chrome and Safari reports 1920 while Firefox reports 1903). I use document width in $(document).ready(function() { ... }); to reposition a div element. Funny this is that after using alert() inside this function, the element reposition correctly, though the document size is still smaller than other browsers.

    Hello, In ASP.NET MVC, we don't have controls which can do stuffs such as autocompletion (we don't have controls at all from Visual Studio like in web forms). But, Is it possible to still get 'Auto-completion' with a text box in ASP.NET MVC (like with the textbox found on the Google's Home page)? If this is the case, what's the best way to do so?     I have a SQL 2005 setup and am rather new :) Been cracking at this for a few hours and I just need some help. I have been able to setup alerts successfully for the standard "SQL server performance events", its fun. So I already have email alerts working. However I need the alert thing to run a stored procedure I have created, and depending on its output it will alert me or not via email. So far I have been trying to use the WMI events, but I keep getting an error "The @wmi_query could not be executed in the @wmi_namespace provided. Verify that an event class selected in the query exists in the namespace and that the query has the correct syntax" the query definitely works so I have no idea.. is there a different way to do this?

The url contains JSON this is my code: xyz = null $.get('http://www.someurl.com/123=json', function(data) { var xyz = data.positions[0].latitude; }); alert(xyz); //some more code using xyz variable I know that xyz will alert a null result because the $.get is asychronous. So is there any way I can use the xyz outside this get function? Thank you
