• Filename Case issue with over WebDav

  We are accessing SAMBA shared directory from a Windows Client with WebDav client WebDrive. But we are having the issue that it is showing same contents in both the directories ( data/ & Data/ ) though they are entirely different. I know this is because of Windows Filesystem being case insensitive and Linux being Case Sensitive. is there any solution for this? We had the same issue when viewed through the SAMBA mounted directory but we solved it by editing the SMB.conf as said in the following link Does Samba work well with Windows when case-sensitive names are enabled? Please help to solve this when accessed from the WebDav

• Can OpenVPN be set up so the server doesn't have interface that is part of the VPN?

  I'm looking to set up a VPN (OpenVPN is my first choice but I'm not stuck with it) in such a way that the server that hosts the VPN is not visible from within the VPN. That is; any packet that a client sends via the VPN interface will get delivered to another client's VPN interface or get dropped. In the other direction, the server shouldn't have a VPN interface at all and normal network operations shouldn't be able to send packets on the network. Can this be done? All the docs I have found have assumed that clients will connect via DHCP (this requiring that the server connect at least to that extent) but I can't think of any reason that a VPN couldn't use static IP's or that the DHCP server couldn't be implemented inside the VPN (see edit) server without setting up a VPN interface on the server. Edit: Based on the link on bridged mode from Phil Hollenback's answer it seems that OpenVPN does in fact have the "internal DHCP server" that I'm thinking of.

  I want to open the built-in task manager with Process Explorer's Replace Task Manager option checked. I've tried: Running taskmgr.exe from the run dialog. PE was opened instead. Creating a copy of taskmgr.exe in the same folder. Then run it. The built-in task manager was opened, but not working properly(its window was blank). Creating a symbolic link (using mklink) of taskmgr.exe in the same folder. Then run it. PE was opened instead. Is there any other method I can try? Thanks.

• Cannot ping a VM from a Hyper-V host

  I am facing a weird situation in my network environment. My infrastructure looks like this: I have a D-LINK DIR-635 acting as my default gateway (192.168.0.1) A physical Windows 2012 Server (192.168.0.10) with the following roles: DHCP, DNS, AD DS and Hyper-V. A virtual Windows 2012 Server (192.168.0.50) which I intent to use as an IIS server (Role is not deployed yet). My virtual machine was able to get an IP address from the DHCP server and is working perfectly (I can ping the default gateway [by IP, FQDN or DNS Alias], the Hyper-V host and any site on the Internet (CNN.com for example). However I cannot ping the VM from my host. It says: Request Timed Out. Do you guys know what I might be doing wrong? Any support is appreciated! Thanks!

• Two IP ranges on eth1 configuration for centos 6.2

  i have a dedicated server, with "Virtuozzo" on it running VPS's. I have: eth0 - which is configured to the internal network, that one is fine. Now I have: eth1 - which has two ranges routed through this device. x.x.134.x (which has 12 IP's sequentially) x.x.132.x (which has 5) eth1: DEVICE="eth1" HWADDR="00:25:90:37:65:67" NM_CONTROLLED="yes" ONBOOT="yes" IPADDR="x.x.134.x" NETMASK="255.255.255.240" GATEWAY="x.x.134.x" I tried using this with another file as well named "ifcfg-eth1:1" in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ any ideas why the containers on eth1:1 would not link up to the network? Virtuozzo also thinks that eth1:1 is the primary network now, which isn't right?

• Combine WLAN with LAN

  I have D-link DSL 2750U wireless router. My PC and notebook are connected to router by Wi-Fi. They can share files or ping each other. I have a network storage unit plugged into router by an ethernet cable. Any of the computers cannot reach that storage unit or ping it. I guess my router isolates LAN network from WLAN network. Is there a way to combine them and get the router treat all devices connected to router in a single network? Thanks.

  In Chrome, news articles at: http://www.theprovince.com with a leading photo and caption show the caption text overlapped with the body text. I have an image but as a new user here I'm not allowed to upload it. It happens at that site almost always, here's an example from today: http://www.theprovince.com/sports/Canucks+Blackhawks+collision+Titanic+proportions/5721421/story.html It rarely happens elsewhere. The same link works fine in Internet Explorer so I'm guessing it's a Chrome issue. It's been like this for many months, I read the site almost everyday. I click on "Print this Article" to get a proper look at it, but it's annoying, hope someone has the answer. Thanks in advance.

• Is this a b43 driver problem?

  I have 13.04 on a Dell Inspiron 1564 with Broadcom 4312 WiFi card. The wl drivers cause kernel panic on linux-3.8 so I succesfully installed the b43 driver a couple of months ago. Now I have changed ISP and got a new router, and the connection drop when downloading software from internet to a 2008r2 using Remmina Client, and apt-get install on virtual machines in virtualbox. I have no idea why this suddenly became a problem.. My phone does not loose the connection, just Ubuntu. Output from /var/log/syslog after lost connection rfkill list(after disconnecting): 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: yes I can use NetworkManager to disable wireless and then enable wireless to connect again. rfkill ublock all/wifi/0 removes only Soft blocked. lshw -C network *-network description: Wireless interface physical id: 4 logical name: wlan0 serial: 78:e4:00:78:d2:05 capabilities: ethernet physical wireless configuration: broadcast=yes driver=b43 driverversion=3.8.0-32-generic firmware=478.104 ip=10.0.0.3 link=yes multicast=yes wireless=IEEE lspci 04:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (rev 01) After waking from suspend and when booting, it takes about 40 sec to get network connection. • Mouse works only in some applications

  Recently my mouse has been buggy (actually one of the reasons I'm switching from Windows 8.1) (I say mouse, but I mean mice, I've tried several). It will work just fine, but when I try to click in the unity launcher to switch to a program such as Terminal it won't work. If I then use alt+tab to switch to Terminal I cannot click in the still-exposed Firefox to switch to that, AND it will change the mouse cursor to show things in Firefox as if I was still focused on the window (show the hand when hovering over a link). But if I then try to type in Firefox, thinking Terminal is now just shown over all windows, it types in Terminal. In Windows 8.1 I had a similar problem, I would run a program, but would only be able to use my mouse in it to click and right-click and everything for about 20 seconds before it would stop responding. NOTE: my mouse still moves around, I just can't click and sometimes it won't even register as hovering over something. I'm currently on Ubuntu 14.04 and the other OS is Windows 8.1. • Trying to find a good filehost [closed]

  I'm looking for a good filehost that I can use to link downloads on my blog (personally created files, no copyright infringement). Been looking at mediafire, but I'm not sure what else is out there that would meet my needs. Ideally wanting something that has no files-per-day-per-user limits, can host individual files of at least 500MB each, and has very little hassle for the users who download from them. I'll pay for a 'premium' or whatever level account if necessary. Any good suggestions? Or will mediafire be my best bet for this?

  Searching for answers about the "Clear Text Credential Access Enabled" field, I found a question on an oracle forum that was my exactly what I was trying to find out. Thinking that my answer would soon be found, I happily click on the link only to find zero replies. All hope was lost. I am posting the question here, hoping that someone on this site will know the answer. Can somebody please explain the usage of "Clear Text Credential Access Enabled" checkbox under "-Security-Advanced tab for Weblogic 11g? What is the difference if we set or unset this flag? If I dont set this flag I get an exception like "Access to sensitive attribute in clear text is not allowed due to the setting of ClearTextCredentialAccessEnabled attribute in SecurityConfigurationMBean" when I try to set a value for the "Credential" field. But what should be the value for "Credential" field if I dont set the "Clear Text Credential Access Enabled"flag?

• Using (embedding?) wireshark in a C application for sniffing

  I'm writing a C/C++ application which needs (among other things) to sniff packets and save the output in a file. This file will be read and processed by wireshark after a few days, using a LUA script to do some other stuff. My question is for the sniffing part which must be provided by my application. I can see two ways to do this: 1) Fork the wireshark process in background (of course using the command line version) 2) Using wireshark as library: no forking but include stuff like "wireshark.h" and link against libwireshark.so, thus using function calls to do the sniffing. So far I haven't found any documentation about #2 and it seems that #1 is the "right way" to embed sniffing capabilities in my code. Do you think I'm doing he right thing? Does wireshark allow embedding as a library?

• Files apperaring/disappering from folder on share

  Windows Server 2008 R2 I have a folder H:\temp\folderName where H: is a file share under ADS on the server. I have "Full Control" permission on the folder. I can open the folder and see a file and/or a folder that is supposed there. If I try to drag/drop or Copy/Paste the file I get an error "Could not find this item. This is no longer in ...." But I can still see the file. Similar issue occur at command prompt. I cannot delete the folder. Delete actions run w/o error but the folder is still present. I was able to rename the folder. My guess is there are some cross link issues. Or? Does anyone recognize this syndrome? What is the proper next step to verify the file share?

Do I need to create a new VM and install TFS (configure as controller) and then link it from the VM to the main TFS instance? • Delete Ubuntu and Grub from PC (and BIOS unaccessible)

  I've really done a mess while upgrading 12.04 to 12.10, or my PC did, or ubuntu did, I can't really tell. The situation now is I have a dual booting machine, Windows 7 and ubuntu 12.10 -When turning on the PC, I can't access boot options, I've tried every thing, esc, f1 f8, f10 (I have a Hp pavilion) but all I can see is a short-lasting screen with three lines reading something like "error:files not found" or "link not found". So the PC turns to the Grub loader screen. This is already a BIG problem. It means I can't change boot order, and I'm diperate, since it doensn't seem that repairing my operating systems will bring my BIOS back. -If I chose Ubuntu in grup, it loades but then frezes on the desktop, I may be having problem with unity3d, or compiz, which was reported to be crashing the first times I started ubuntu. Now, after turning off and on the pc several times, no crash is reported again. Ubuntu just load my background image and nothing else. Not the side menu, not the header, nothing. Althogh the system seems "functioning", when I press the power button on the PC, for example, the normal shutdown dialog window appears. -If I chose Windows, Grubs tells me that something is not found, and to press any key to continue; I do it and then Windows loads perfectly. What I now want to do is 1- use EasyBSD to change boot order and boot Windows partition first 2- delete the ubuntu partitions from within windows disk manager What I except happening is that My PC turns to, or near to factory booting settings: I press the power button and Windows loads without asking me nothing I have acess to all my hardisk from withing windows Is that what will really happen? Are there danger I'm not seeing? What I don't except happening is The BIOS access key return functioning How could I eventually solve this? I would like to reinstall Ubuntu, 32 bit version this time.

  I had a server in a hosting company and I took it home. I need to connect him to a local network (not wifi) and access to the server from another computer in the network via browser, like I did it when it was in the hosting company. I don't have any knowledge in linux, I just know how to type in the command line :) I thinks all the IP configuration of the server is one big mess, because it passed from more then one hosting company to another... I tried a lot of tutorials that I found in the web, but nothing works - mainly because I don't know how to check if I did something wrong. • Why does Mac OS X auto-mount the (disabled) home folder?

  I've just bought a MacBook Pro. Now I'm trying to build up a filesystem (just some path) that looks like my Ubuntu server. By doing so, I can reuse a lot of the scripts I've written before. I found that Mac OS X auto mounts home with map auto_home, which prevents me from even making a symbolic link. I managed to solve this problem from the solution here. It mentioned that Time Machine will auto-exclude the home folder. But I'm wondering why, this is confusing.

• Why are Google search results not working for me? Does it have to do with otnggrneohai? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: What to do if my computer is infected by a virus or a malware? I can't use Google search results right now. The actual searches return results that look valid, but whenever I click on a link, I'm redirected to strange sites. I believe I'm being affected by a virus that has something to do with the string "otnggrneohai." I was running Windows 7 Home with Microsoft Security Essentials, but Microsoft Security Essentials has been deleted. I did not delete it myself. • Changing Chrome Working Directories on Mac clients

  We're using Mac OSX 10.6.8 with NFS for home directories. Chrome seems to not like this, for a user who is logged in more than one machine. AFP was ok, but for other reasons we need NFS. It only allows you to start one instance. Ie, userA logged in to Mac1, Mac2. Can only have chrome open on Mac1 OR mac2, not both. I have read at this thread, changing working directory, and sym link can fix... but I can't find the details. Can someone help?

• jquery selector for elements beside one another? [migrated]

  this SHOULD be simple, but I have been through the Jquery Selector help for about an hour now and nothing seems to be working. Help! I am basically trying to pull the text (an address) of a SPAN after a user clicks on the link next to it. Please note though, I will have about 10 on a page, so I cannot set a static address. It must be pulled when the user clicks. The html code: <a href="3" class="clicky">Click to Show Map</a> <span style="display: none" class="theaddy">123 Fake Street, Somewhere Else, 12341</span> So really, my question is, how do I grab the text from .theaddy when a user clicks on .clicky? As I said, I cannot use var propertyaddy = $(.theaddy).text(); because there are 10 of these addy's on the same page. I need some sort of "THIS" Next To kinda thing. I also tossed around the idea of placing the SPAN inside the A, but my efforts on that weren't working either. Thank you in advance for any help!

• In Ubuntu, my apps no longer have the system menu bar (not the panels!)

  So, I booted up my box today after the weekend, and my apps no longer have the System Menu Bar at the top. It kinda sucks 'cause that's an easy way to maximize windows. How do I get it back?
