  I have two views, one view takes the whole screen, the second view covers only a little portion. What I want is for that second view to be on the first view (which I already have done), but the problem is, when I set values (in this case UILabel's) the label on the screen doesn't display that new value. I know for a fact the method gets called, but for some reason it won't change the label's value.

• How can I refactor out needing so many for-loops in rails?

  I need help refactoring this multi-loop thing. Here is what I have: Campaign has_many Contacts Campaign also has many templates for EVent (Email, Call, and Letter). I need a list of all the Emails, Calls and Letters that are "overdue" for every Contact that belongs to a Campaign. Overdue is determined by a from_today method which looks at the date the Contact was entered in the system and the number of days that needs to pass for any given Event. from_today() outputs the number of days from today that the Event should be done for a given Contact. Here is what I've done, it works for all Emails in a Campaign across all contacts. I was going to try to create another each do loop to change the class names. Wasn't sure where to begin: named_scope, push some things into a method, etcetera, or -- minimum to be able to dynamically change the class names so at least it loops three timees across the different events rather than repeating the code three times: <% @campaigns.each do |campaign| %> <h2><%= link_to campaign.name, campaign %></h2> <% @events.each do |event| %> <%= event %> <% for email in campaign.emails %> <h4><%= link_to email.title, email %> <%= email.days %> days</h4> <% for contact in campaign.contacts.find(:all, :order => "date_entered ASC" ) %> <% if (from_today(contact, email.days) < 0) %> <% if show_status(contact, email) == 'no status'%> <p> <%= full_name(contact) %> is <%= from_today(contact,email.days).abs%> days overdue: <%= do_event(contact, email) %> </p> <% end %> <% end %> <% end %> <% end %> <% end %> <% end %>

  Hi, Here is my button <asp:Button ID="myButton" Text="Click Me" OnClick="doSomething(10)" runat="server" /> Here is the server function public void doSomething(int num) { int someOtherNum = 10 + num; } When I try to compile the code I get the error "Method Name Expected" for the line: <asp:Button ID="myButton" Text="Click Me" OnClick="doSomething(10)" runat="server" /> What am I doing wrong? Am I not allowed to pass values to the server from an OnClick event?

Now, I'm aware that the following annotation allows me to expect an exception of a certain type @Test(expected = NipException.class) However, I have an 'errorCode' property in my exception class which I would also like to verify.   Does anybody have a quickie for converting an unsafe string to an int? The string typically comes back as: '234\r\n' or something like that. In this case I want 234. If '-1\r\n', I want -1. I never want the method to fail but I don't want to go so far as try, except, pass just to hide errors either (in case something extreme happens).

• Is it possible to move the stage in actionscript 3.0?

  Hi to keep it short and simple let's say I have a stage with 400x400 size in pixels, but I've drawn a map of 1000x1000 size in pixels. I want my player to be able to "walk" about the stage, but it appears stage.x and stage.y are read-only?
