  • Aldon and .Net Development

    I'm looking for feedback from .Net developers who have experience with Aldon as a lifecycle management platform. We're seriously considering using Aldon for lifecycle management including source control, automated builds, etc. I know there are a lot of other options out there, but ours is primary an AS/400 shop (with AS/400 programmers outnumbering .Net developers 6 to 1), and Aldon is used already by our iSeries team. The benefit we're looking for is having one lifecycle management suite. Basically, I'm looking for opinions from people who have used Aldon and another set of tools (perhaps TFS, or a combination of SVN, Cruise Control, etc). If you've worked with both, do you have a recommendation on whether this is a good idea, or a bad idea? It's obviously a big choice, so any feedback would be helpful.

  • Why does order matter for ImageMagick's -colorspace operation?

    Starting with ImageMagick 6, the command style changed to solve a bunch of problems outlined in the Basic Usage document. That document does imply that for simple operations, one should only need to move the options from before the source file to between the source and output files to convert from the "old" style to the "new" style. However, this doesn't seem to work for the -colorspace operation. When I use the following command, I get an output file with the correct colors: convert -colorspace rgb input.pdf output.png But when I try to use the new command style, the -colorspace operation is never applied: convert input.pdf -colorspace rgb output.png Samples: Why does this occur?

  • Oracle SQL Update query takes days to update

    I am trying to update a record in the target table based on the record coming in from source. For instance, if the incoming record is present in the target table I would update them in the target else I would simply insert. I have over one million records in my source while my target has 46 million records. The target table is partitioned based on calendar key. I implement this whole logic using Informatica. I find that the Informatica code is perfectly fine looking at the Informatica session log but its in the update it takes long time (more than 5 days to update one million records). Any suggestions as to what can be done on the scenario to improve the performance?

  • Events doesn't fire when using UpdatePanel

    Hi, What I did is, I have made 2 user controls. One control is inside the other. NoW one control has a buttton and a data grid and datalist in it. When pressing button I am filling datagrid while datalist visiblity false. This is working fine. But now when I press some link button in datalist data, it should call item_command event but it is not calling. I have also used a Updatepanel as a wrapper(all controls are inside it). Please suggest what may be the reason for that. Thanks

  • Problem with absolute positioning div over SWF and IE 8.

    I'm attempting to use the old IFrame-over-SWF trick to get HTML to display "inside" a SWF. I'm following the example provided by Brian Deitte at: http://www.deitte.com/IFrameDemo3/IFrameDemo.html. (The source code can be viewed and downloaded by right-clicking on the SWF and selecting "View Source".) In the latest versions of Firefox, Google, Opera, and Safari on the Mac, it all looks good. But in IE 8 the absolutely positioned div containing the IFrame is positioned too far up and left, and the height and width are considerably smaller. Thoughts?

  • Memory issues - Living vs. overall -> app is killed

    I'm trying to check my applications memory issues in Instruments. When I load the application I play some sounds and show some animations in UIImageViews. To save some memory I load the sounds only when I need it and when I stop playing it I free it from the memory. problem 1: My application is using about 5.5MB of Living memory. BUT The Overall section is growing after start to 20MB and then it's slowly growing (about 100kB/sec). But responsible Library is OpenAL (OAL::Buffer), dyld (_dyld_start)-I am not sure what this really is, and some other stuff like ft_mem_qrealloc, CGFontStrikeSetValue, … problem 2: When the overall section breaks about 30MB, application crashes (is killed). According to the facts I already read about overall memory, it means then my all allocations and deallocation is about 30MB. But I don't really see the problem. When I need some sound for example I load it to the memory and when I don't need it anymore I release it. But that means when I load 1MB sound, this operation increase overall memory usage with 2MB. Am I right? And when I load 10 sounds my app crashes just because the fact my overall is too high even living is still low??? I am very confused about it. Could someone please help me clear it up?   • How can I use Perl to grab text from a web page that is dynamically generated with JavaScript?

    There is a website I am trying to pull information from in Perl, however the section of the page I need is being generated using javascript so all you see in the source is: <div id="results"></div> I need to somehow pull out the contents of that div and save it to a file using Perl/proxies/whatever. e.g. the information I want to save would be document.getElementById('results').innerHTML; I am not sure if this is possible or if anyone had any ideas or a way to do this. I was using a lynx source dump for other pages but since I cant straight forward screen scrape this page I came here to ask about it!   • After pip installing uWSGI there's no /etc/uwsgi/ directory - how can I use apps-enabled?

    I've been using apt-get install uwsgi to install uWSGI. Today, I realized I needed a feature that's not available until uWSGI 1.1, and Ubuntu 12.04.1 doesn't have anything after 1.0.x, at least according to my apt-get install uwsgi=1.1 attempt. So, I used: pip install http://projects.unbit.it/downloads/uwsgi-lts.tar.gz After doing so, I get a message prescribing the use of /usr/local/bin/uwsgi to launch the program. I'm not a guru when it comes to compiling from source, but my understanding is that when you do so, nothing will be changed in the /etc/ directory. Is this correct? If not, why don't I have a /etc/uwsgi/ directory and, more specifically, a /etc/uwsgi/apps-enabled/ directory? Should I simply create the directories when installing uWSGI from source? I was hesitant to do so, considering there is no mention of this in the docs (I don't want something that accidentally works, etc.).

    I am a developer and my company is moving towards a "no laptop" policy in fear of them being lost or stolen and source code being compromised. Now I don't work for NASA, the military or anything labeled Top Secret but our code is very important to our business nonetheless (as all source code would be). I'll be honest, I disagree with this policy against laptops and wanted to see what others think. I'd like to know: What is your team/company's stance on laptops Your company's size and/or field (small, medium or large, Fortune 500, etc). Whether you've had to take any extra precautions (signing any additional legal, ensure your hard drive is encrypted, etc). Thanks!

    It's probably something really simple, but I can't find it in the docs and I can't find a map with it to check it's source... I use version 3 of the API.     Psuedo code for mapping configuration (as below) is not possible since the lambda only lets us access Type IDataReader, wheras when actually mapping, AutoMapper will reach into each "cell" of each IDataRecord while IDataReader.Read() == true: var mappingConfig = Mapper.CreateMap<IDataReader, IEnumerable<MyDTO>>(); mappingConfig.ForMember( destination => destination.???, options => options.MapFrom(source => source.???)); Can anyone think of a way to do this using AutoMapper configuration at runtime or just some other dynamic approach that meets the requirement below. The requirement is to support any incoming IDataReader which may have column names that don't match the property names of MyDTO and there is no naming convention I can rely on. Instead we'll ask the user at runtime to cross-reference the expected column names with the actual column names found in the IDataReader via IDataReader.GetSchemaTable().

  • What could be adding "Pragma:no-cache" to my response Headers? (Apache, PHP)

    I have a website whose maintenance I've inherited, which is a big hairy mess. One of the things i'm doing is improving performance. Among other things, I'm adding Expires headers to images. Now, there are some images that are served through a PHP file, and I notice that they do have the Expires header, but they also get loaded every time. Looking at Response Headers, I see this: Expires Wed, 15 Jun 2011 18:11:55 GMT Cache-Control no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0 Pragma no-cache Which obviously explains the problem. Now, i've looked all over the code base, and it doesn't say "pragma" anywhere. .htaccess doesn't seem to have anything related either. Any ideas who could be setting those "pragma" (and "cache-control") headers, and how I can avoid it? Thanks! Daniel

  • Visual Studio 2008 hangs while opening aspx/ascx file.

    Hi all! I've issue with VS08. I've got Web Application project (vb.net). Whenever I try to open an aspx or ascx (in Source view - just double clicking on Solution Explorer) the file opens, but VS hangs and is not responding. The only way to restart VS is then by killing it's process. And it happens all the time with these types of files. :/ Reinstall didn't work. In addition, the only plugin I've installed with this instance of VS is ClearCase source control plugin.

It doesn't work - it caches for 60 seconds, but only one cached copy is created regardless of what I put in the CacheString property. Anyone any ideas what i'm doing wrong? - After 4 hours of this I have no hair or nails left - please save my monitor from the brick.

    hi, i have webpage in which a webpart contains a Chart control. the problem is chart control is rendered perfectly when i login as central admin. but when i login as another user with contribute permisson following problems occur. when i change webconfig as --- add key="ChartImageHandler" value="storage=file;timeout=20;dir=c:\TempImageFiles\;"--- page is not at all loaded. i get error like YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO VIEW THIS PAGE. when i change the wbconfig as --- add key="ChartImageHandler" value="storage=memory;timeout=20;URL=/_layouts/Images/MicrosoftChartControls/" --- the page loads fine but image is not rendered. A red mark appears in place of image. I tried all optins got by googling.. any more suggestions/help will be welcomed
