  • File upload using HTML file type.

    I want to upload a file on my aspx page. I am using <form id="frmId" method="post" enctype="Multipart/form-data"> <input type="file" id="file1"/> <input type="submit" id="btnsubmit"/> </form> and in code behind I am trying to get this file. Its not letting me to get the file until I use server side input file control. I don't want to use runat="server" attribute with my file control. Do anyone know how to do this.

    I'm experiencing the problem outlined in this kb article. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927917 . Sorry I can't hyperlink cos i don't have enough points! "This problem occurs because a child container HTML element contains script that tries to modify the parent container element of the child container. The script tries to modify the parent container element by using either the innerHTML method or the appendChild method." The problem I'm having diagnosing the source of my problem is 2 fold: 1) This is only happening on some client machines (All are running IE8) and not others. How/Why only some? 2) I don't have any scripts which modify the innerHTML or call appendChild on any dom elements. I do have server side code which modify properties on asp .net server controls. (Essentially all thats happening is a panel control with some more controls is being made visbile or invisible on a button click), would these in turn then set the innerHTML property of the client rendered control(?)

  • Generating Dynamic web pages without server side scripting

    Hi guys, I am trying to control a media device which has lot of multimedia content that it can play using another device(remote control device) like an ipad connected to the LAN. (UPnP) I want the media device to be able to send the content listing to the remote device so that it will be rendered as a webpage on the remote controller. And actions on the webpages needs to be sent to the the device as commands to execute (like play, pause, next etc). The media device is an embedded device, hence can't have any server side scripting, all has to be done on the client side. I want the page rendered to be HTML5. So, is it possible to generate dynamic HTML5 pages using just client side scripting? Thanks a lot. I am an embedded systems developer hence clueless about the web designing stuff.

    I have google as much as I possible, checked stackoverflow several times, and yet I can not find a good html to pdf converter that can handle css. Is there a free and open source solution (even for commercial usage)? There are many solutions, with huge variety of price ranges, but I was looking for something open source and free. I have tried PISA for Python and it works fairly well, but is not free for commercial usage. Is there anything for .Net? I have not had success with iTextSharp.

  • Https in java ends up with strange results

    I'm trying to illustrate to students how https is used in java. But i have the feeling my example is not really the best out there... The code works well on my windows 7: I start the server, go to https://localhost:8080/somefile.txt and i get asked to trust the certificate, and all goes well. When I try over http (before or after accepting the certificate) I just get a blank page, which is ok for me. BUT when I try the exact same thing on my windows XP: Same thing, all goes well. But then (after accepting the certificate first), I'm also able to get all the the files through http! (if I first try http before https followed by accepting the certificate, I get no answer..) I tried refreshing, hard refreshing a million times but this should not be working, right? Is there something wrong in my code?   • Access to path denied when saving an image with ASP.NET 4.0 project

    I have an existing application that was written in .NET 3.5. The piece of code in question is using the FileUpload control and its SaveAs method. Its worked perfectly for the past six months, but I've recently upgraded the project to .NET 4.0 and I'm now receiving an "Access to path (...) is denied" every time the method is called. It works fine locally in dev mode but fails on my prod server. I've upgraded the website to run under .NET 4.0 and I've made sure the account (Network Service) it runs under in the app pool has full control. Other than upgrading to .NET 4.0, nothing has changed for the project. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

We want to create a single page on the website that is accessible only to internal users. It is primarily used for diagnostics, trigger cache expiry, etc. /admin/somepage.aspx What is the best way to control access to this page? We need to: Prevent all external (public) users from accessing the URL. Permit specific internal users to access the page, only from certain IPs or networks. Should this access control be done at the (a) network level, (b) application level, etc.?

    I'm working on a cross-platform app for Windows and Mac OS X, and I have a problem with two standard C library functions: strtod() - string-to-double conversion sprintf() - when used for outputting double-precision floating point numbers) Their GCC and MSVC versions return different results. I'm looking for a well-tested cross-platform open-source implementation of those functions, or just for a pair of functions that would correctly and consistently convert double to string and back. I've already tried the clib GCC implementation, but the code is too long and too dependent on other source files, so I expect the adaptation to be difficult. What implementations of string-to-double and double-to-string functions would you recommend?

    I am having difficulty in reading data from my SQLite database from MonoTouch.     In a CD collection program, I have each artist's country of origin stored in the main database and want to display a map of the world which: Colour-codes each country depending on the number of CDs by artists in that country Allows clicking on each country to filter a list of CDs to only ones by artists in that country This is a heavily simplified version of what I'm trying to do, but if I can at least get this far the rest should be easy enough to figure out. So far the closest thing I've found to what I'm trying to do is here: http://www.synergetechsolutions.com/blog/analytics-world-map-control Ideally I don't want to be embedding Flash in my program though, and the only other solutions I've found all involve SVG which I haven't managed to get working in practice outside of a web browser control (and I DEFINITELY don't want to be embedding a browser in the forms). Something in pure managed code and either GDI+ or WPF would be preferable. Are there any existing components that would get me started, or can anyone suggest how to approach it from scratch?

I've found plenty of examples on how to convert from nested set to adjacency... but few that go the other way around. The examples I have found either don't work or use MySQL procedures. Unfortunately, I can't use procedures for this project. I need a pure PHP solution. This is not the case. Secondly, I found a cached page on BING (of all places) with a class that does the trick. I've altered it for PHP5 and converted the original author's mysql related bits to basic PHP. He was using some DB class. You can convert them to your own database abstraction class later if you want. Obviously, if your "source table" has other columns that you want to move to the nested set table, you will have to adjust the write method in the class below.   • Can you open an SPSite object while being within a different site collection?

    I'm working on creating a common navigation experience across two site collections in MOSS 2007. I've looked around for various solutions and haven't found anything that fits. Our navigation is dynamic and driven by a number of factors, including audience targeting. Most of what I've found relates to having static XML and that just won't work for our requirements. What I'm down to at the moment is just getting a navigation item from site collection A while in the context of site collection B. Are there reasons I shouldn't be able to just open a navigation item from site collection A and gets its audience? Certainly there could be permissions problems on my end, or code related issues, or things that are in my control. What I'm wondering is if there's something inherent to SharePoint that would not allow this. Something I don't have control over which would force me to travel a different path.

    Hello, pros and gurus! Here is another question about rendering to texture. The whole stuff is all about saving texture between passing image into different filters. Maybe all iPhone developers knows about Apple's sample code with OpenGL processing where they used GL filters(functions), but pass into them the same source image. I need to edit an image by passing it sequentelly with saving the state of the image to edit. I am very noob in OpenGL, so I spent increadibly a lot of to solve the issue. So, I desided to create 2 FBO's and attach source image and temporary image as a textures to render in. If it is another mode, than I save edited image by drawing tmpImage texture in source texture glImage, binded with glImageFBO. After that I call redraw: glBindFramebufferOES(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_OES, SystemFBO); glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT | GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT); glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION); glLoadIdentity(); glOrthof(0, kTexWidth, 0, kTexHeight, -1, 1); glMatrixMode(GL_MODELVIEW); glLoadIdentity(); glScalef(kTexWidth, kTexHeight, 1); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, glImage->texID); glViewport(0, 0, kTexWidth, kTexHeight); glVertexPointer(2, GL_FLOAT, sizeof(V2fT2f), &flipquad[0].x); glTexCoordPointer(2, GL_FLOAT, sizeof(V2fT2f), &flipquad[0].s); glDrawArrays(GL_TRIANGLE_STRIP, 0, 4); glBindFramebufferOES(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_OES, 0); And here it binds visual framebuffer and dispose glImage texture. So, the result is VERY aggresive filtering. Increasing contrast volume by just 0.2 brings image to state that comparable with 0.9 contrast volume in Apple's sample code project. I miss something obvious, I guess. Interesting, if I disabple line glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, glImage->texID); in setContrast routine it brings no effect. At all. If I replace tmpImageFBO with SystemFBO to draw glImage directly on display(and disabling redraw invoking line), all works fine. Please, HELP ME!!! :(

  • Streaming content from (sharepoint) web part

    How does one stream files, html or custom AJAX responses from web parts? Our current quick-and-very-dirty solution is to make the web part call the current page with certain query parameters, which the web part checks and instead of performing normal load it writes the required things to output and calls response end. This sounds bad since SharePoint might load other web parts and execute their code before reaching our web part. The web part is configured with data source settings which means the streaming context must be specific to the web part so it can acquire the correct data source settings.

  • WPF update binding in a background thread

    I have a control that has its data bound to a standard ObservableCollection, and I have a background task that calls a service to get more data. I want to, then, update my backing data behind my control, while displaying a "please wait" dialog, but when I add the new items to the collection, the UI thread locks up while it re-binds and updates my controls. Can I get around this so that my animations and stuff keep running on my "please wait" dialog? Or at least give the "appearance" to the user that its not locked up?

  • My page was attacked via xss, but on ftp all files are not changed?

    Hi, yesterday i noticed that sometimes on my webpage shows up javascript errors. when i went to source code, i found that one of .js files was totaly replaced with a ton of porn links. i checked the ftp for this file, but there was just old javascript file without any changes. yet i go back to check source code via browser and indeed there was again original .js today i visited my webpage again and the problem repeated. first visit showed me ton of porn pages cached .js file was hacked but after clearing browser cache js go back to oryginal i checked all files on my ftp against my offilne version, but all files are without any change. in last few years i was attacked by xss few times but in every case it was easy to diagnose and fix. but now i spend 12h and didnt find infection. do you have any idea how to find it? the webpage is: http://robert.frk.pl

  • Operating system scheduler question

    I recently asked myself: If a program, like Mozilla Firefox for example, is started - the control must be somehow given to it. But when the program crashes, why doesn't my whole system crash like in early Windows version? How can Windows take back the control from the program, or even not give it to it fully? (Note: This is not my homework; I go to school but in my informatics class are really only guys that would answer with "Can I eat that?" when I ask them about kernels. Same with my teacher.)
