    - by George2
Hello everyone, I am debugging codeplex simple project = http://www.codeplex.com/sl2videoplayer. I am using VSTS 2008 + C# + Windows Vista x86 Enterprise. I have not modified any code of this codeplex project, and just press F5 to run VideoPlayerWeb project. The current issue I met with is error message -- "Unable to connect to ASP.Net Development Server". Here is my screen snapshots when clicking F5. Any ideas what is wrong? http://i42.tinypic.com/15xs6jd.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/2d8rf3t.jpg thanks in advance, George

  • Are there any syntax errors in the code snippet here?

    - by Mask
typedef union YYSTYPE { int64_t iConst; // constant value float fConst; // constant value int iAttrLocator; // attribute locator (rowitem for int/float; offset+size for bits) int iFunc; // function id int iNode; // node index } YYSTYPE; It looks valid to me,but the cdt reports the following for the line int64_t iConst;: Multiple markers at this line: - syntax error before "int64_t" - no semicolon at the end of structure or union There are two files that defines int64_t,one is within the project itself(sphinxstd.h),the other is the MinGW/include/stdint.h,is it caused by this conflict?

  • Code Golf Christmas Edition: How to print out a Christmas tree of height N

    - by TheSoftwareJedi
Given a number N, how can I print out a Christmas tree of height N using the least number of code characters? N is assumed constrained to a min val of 3, and a max val of 30 (bounds and error checking are not necessary). N is given as the one and only command line argument to your program or script. All languages appreciated, if you see a language already implemented and you can make it shorter, edit if possible - comment otherwise and hope someone cleans up the mess. Include newlines and whitespace for clarity, but don't include them in the character count. A Christmas tree is generated as such, with its "trunk" consisting of only a centered "*" N = 3: * *** ***** * N = 4: * *** ***** ******* * N = 5: * *** ***** ******* ********* * N defines the height of the branches not including the one line trunk. Merry Christmas SO!

  • How to set AeDebug to get a minidump with the name of the process ?

    - by JC Martin
I have to perform some post mortem debugging on a C++ project. Known way to perform is to set the cdb debugger as a minidump generator and to process the dumps collects afterwards. I read nearly the whole web and I didn't find a solution to produce a minidump with the name of the process that has crashed Is there a way to set AeDebug\Debugger registry variable in such a manner that cdb generates a dump file with the name of the process ? When I encapsulate the call to cdb.exe in a batch file, it starts well but stays blocked on the symbol searching. I must perform a Ctrl+C in order to stop the batch, then the minidump, with the correct process name, is created... but of course I can't set up such a thing in an unattended production environment... Has anybody done that before ?

  • Intercept POS print instruction, capture the text content and send it to the printer

    - by SA
I would like intercept print instruction from POS sytems, capture the text content(as I need to use this) and send it to the printer. And would also like to use a program with OPOS standards, so that it will work with all kinds of POS system. I looked into MS POS .Net and and samples from MONORECS and still not clear on how to accomplish this. If some body can shed some light on how to achieve this, setting up a test system, where can I learn more about this and give some directions that will be great.

  • CLLocation is not nil but trying to print it out throws EXC_BAD_ACCESS

    - by nefsu
Sorry, this may be a noob question but I'm working with CoreLocation and this has be stumped. I'm looking up the currentLocation using a singleton that was recommended on this site and when I get the currentLocation object, it returns true to a not nil check. However, when I try to print out its description, it throws EXC_BAD_ACCESS. //WORKS Current location 8.6602e-290 NSLog(@"Current location %g",currLoc); //DOESN'T WORK NSLog(@"Current location %@",[currLoc description]); //DOESN'T WORK - Is this causing the description to fail as well? NSLog(@"Current location %g",currLoc.coordinate.latitude); Why am I able to see something on the first one but not the others? BTW, this is being run on a 3.1.2 simulator Thanks.

  • How Should I Print Documentation from Google Code?

    - by peter.newhook
Google does a decent job of documenting their API (like Closure http://code.google.com/closure/compiler/docs/overview.html) but I find it hard to read because it's broken into such short pages. I like to leaf through my docs and read it on paper. Has anyone found a good way to print from the documentation on Google Code. It could be a PDF, or even just a long page with lots of content. Please note, I'm not talking about the Wikis in the Open Source side of Google Code. I'm referring to the API docs published by Google.

  • Printing elements out of list

    - by chavanak
Hi, I have a certain check to be done and if the check satisfies, I want the result to be printed. Below is the code: import string import codecs import sys y=sys.argv[1] list_1=[] f=1.0 x=0.05 write_in = open ("new_file.txt", "w") write_in_1 = open ("new_file_1.txt", "w") ligand_file=open( y, "r" ) #Open the receptor.txt file ligand_lines=ligand_file.readlines() # Read all the lines into the array ligand_lines=map( string.strip, ligand_lines ) #Remove the newline character from all the pdb file names ligand_file.close() ligand_file=open( "unique_count_c_from_ac.txt", "r" ) #Open the receptor.txt file ligand_lines_1=ligand_file.readlines() # Read all the lines into the array ligand_lines_1=map( string.strip, ligand_lines_1 ) #Remove the newline character from all the pdb file names ligand_file.close() s=[] for i in ligand_lines: for j in ligand_lines_1: j = j.split() if i == j[1]: print j The above code works great but when I print j, it prints like ['351', '342'] but I am expecting to get 351 342 (with one space in between). Since it is more of a python question, I have not included the input files (basically they are just numbers). Can anyone help me? Cheers, Chavanak

  • CodeIgniter model debugging errors

    - by Jono
I am new to CodeIgniter, and I need a way to get more meaningful error messages. Specifically I am having trouble with some model relationships, but the error is vague. I am willing to try/install anything since I dont know how to fix this relationship. Is there a way to specify how verbose an error message is? Also, this could be related to DataMapper, but I cant tell. I dont care if they are logged or in the browser. In my browser error reads: An Error Was Encountered Unable to relate X with Y. Any more info would be great... which class, line number, a stacktrace. Increasing the log threshold did not help.

  • can I see all SQL statements sent over an ODBC connection?

    - by Dave Cameron
I'm working with a third-party application that uses ODBC to connect to, and alter, a database. During certain failure modes, the end-results are not what I expect. To understand it better, I'd like some way of inspecting all the statements sent to the database. Is there a way to do this with ODBC? I know with JDBC I could use http://www.p6spy.com/ to see all statements sent, for example when debugging hibernate. p6spy is a "proxy" driver that records commands sent and forwards them on to the real JDBC driver. Another possibility might be a protocol sniffer that would capture statements over the wire. Although, I'm unsure if ODBC includes a standard wire protocol, or only specifieds the API. Does anyone know of existing tools that would allow me to do either of these things? Alternatively, is there another approach I could take?

  • Disabling Xdebug's dumping of caught exceptions

    - by nuqqsa
By default Xdebug will dump any exception regardless of whether it is caught or not: try { throw new Exception(); } catch (Exception $e) { } echo 'life goes on'; With XDebug enabled and the default settings this piece of code will actually output something like the following (nicely formatted): ( ! ) Exception: in /test.php on line 3 Call Stack # Time Memory Function Location 1 0.0003 52596 {main}( ) ../test.php:0 life goes on Is it possible to disable this behaviour and have it dumping only the uncaught exceptions? Thanks in advance. UPDATE: I'm about to conclude that this is a bug, since xdebug.show_exception_trace is disabled by default yet it doesn't behave as expected (using Xdebug v2.0.5 with PHP 5.2.10 on Ubuntu 9.10).

  • In javascript, how do I find out the name of a function from within that function?

    - by roryhewitt
The title should make it clear. Is it possible from within a function to determine the name of that function? Basically, I'm adding some debugging code to a number of functions, and I'd like to be able to simply add the following line inside every function: if (global_debugOn) alert("Processing function " + function-name); How can I get 'function-name'? Yes, obviously I could simply type in the function name (after all I'm typing in the whole alert bit), but that's a hassle to do, especially if there is a nice simple way of retrieving it dynamically. Plus, as function names change during development, I'd like to keep it up-to-date... I hoped that maybe the arguments attribute might hold this (e.g. arguments[0], like in C), but I couldn't get it to work. I'm not even sure if arguments works anyway. Thanks! Rory

  • gcc : Is using -Werror and -pedantic considered good practice?

    - by Helper Method
I'm just digging into the gcc manual and some things are still unclear to me: When specifying a std, should I always use -pedantic in conjunction? When using -g, it the standard level sufficient or should I specify level 3, i.e. -g3? Is it good practice to use -Werror to promote all warnings to errors and -pedantic-errors to promote all pedantic warnings to errors?

  • how to set breakpoint on function in a shared library which has not been loaded in gdb

    - by pierr
Hi, I have a shared library libtest.so which will be loaded into the the main program using dlopen. Function test() reside in libtest.so and will be called in the main program through dlsym. Is there any way I could set up a break point on test? Please note that the main programm has not been linked to libtest.so during linking time. Otherwise , I should be able to set the break point although it is a pending action. In my case, when I do b test, gdb will tell me Function "test" not defined.

  • Unexplained crashs with coregraphic

    - by Ziggy
Hello there, i'm on this bug for a week now, and i can't solve it. I have some crash with coregraphic calls, it happen randomly (sometimes after 2 mn, or just at the start), but often at the same places in the code. I have a class that just wrap a CGContext, it have a CGContextRef as member. This Object is re-created each time DrawRect() is called, so the CGContextRef is always up-to-date. The draw calls came from the main thread, only After looking for this kind of error, it appear that it should be object Release related. Here is an example of an error : #0 0x90d8a7a7 in ___forwarding___ #1 0x90d8a8b2 in __forwarding_prep_0___ #2 0x90d0d0b6 in CFRetain #3 0x95e54a5d in CGColorRetain #4 0x95e5491d in CGGStateCreateCopy #5 0x95e5486d in CGGStackSave #6 0x95e54846 in CGContextSaveGState #7 0x00073500 in CAutoContextState::CAutoContextState at Context.cpp:47 the AutoContextSave() class look like this : class CAutoContextState { private: CGContextRef m_Hdc; public: CAutoContextState(const CGContextRef& Hdc) { m_Hdc = Hdc; CGContextSaveGState(m_Hdc); } virtual ~CAutoContextState() { CGContextRestoreGState(m_Hdc); } }; It crash at CGContextSaveGState(m_Hdc). Here is what i see into GDB: * -[Not A Type retain]: message sent to deallocated instance 0x16a148b0. When i type malloc-history on the address, i have this : 0: 0x954cf10c in malloc_zone_malloc 1: 0x90d0d201 in _CFRuntimeCreateInstance 2: 0x95e3fe88 in CGTypeCreateInstanceWithAllocator 3: 0x95e44297 in CGTypeCreateInstance 4: 0x95e58f57 in CGColorCreate 5: 0x71fdd in _ZN4Flux4Draw8CContext10DrawStringERKNS_7CStringEPKNS0_5CFontEPKNS0_6CBrushERKNS_5CRectENS0_12tagAlignmentESE_NS0_17tagStringTrimmingEfiPKf at /Volumes/Sources Mac/Flux/Sources/DotFlux/Projects/../Draw/CoreGraphic/Context.cpp:1029 Which point me at this line of code : f32 components[] = {pSolidBrush->GetColor().GetfRed(), pSolidBrush->GetColor().GetfGreen(), pSolidBrush->GetColor().GetfBlue(), pSolidBrush->GetColor().GetfAlpha()}; //{ 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.8 }; CGColorRef TextColor = CGColorCreate(rgbColorSpace, components); Point this func : CGColorCreate(); Any help would be appreciated, i need to finish this task very soon, but i don't know how to resolve this :( Thanks.

  • F10 isn't working properly in VS2005

    - by torvin
When project is stopped (not in the debugging state) and you press F10, normally the debugging session starts and VS stops at the entry point (e.g. Program.Main). That always worked for me in VS2005 and works OK in VS2008. But recently that stopped working in my VS2005 - the project just runs as if I pressed F5, so I have to place a breakpoint at Program.Main when I need to stop at the entry point. Though it continues to work as it should in my VS2008. I suspect, that's because I installed Reflector add-in and it changed some settings in VS2005, but I just can't find out which settings. Also, disabling that add-in has no effect on my issue :-( Please help, thanks in advance.
