    Hi all, I want to add a view after the last cell of tableview. I need to define the frame for it. If I want to add something before the first cell, then I can set the frame as refreshHeaderView = [[EGORefreshTableHeaderView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f - self.view.bounds.size.height,320.0f, self.view.bounds.size.height)]; But how to find the y coordinate of the frame of view to be set after the last cell.   • Is it faster to use a complicated boolean to limit a ResultSet at the MySQL end or at the Java end?

    Lets say I have a really big table filled with lots of data (say, enough not to fit comfortably in memory), and I want to analyze a subset of the rows. Is it generally faster to do: SELECT (column1, column2, ... , columnN) FROM table WHERE (some complicated boolean clause); and then use the ResultSet, or is it faster to do: SELECT (column1, column2, ... , columnN) FROM table; and then iterate over the ResultSet, accepting different rows based on a java version of your boolean condition? I think it comes down to whether the Java iterator/boolean evaluator is faster than the MySQL boolean evaluator.

  • Google App Engine - About how much quota does a single datastore put use?

    The latency for a datastore put is about 150ms (http://code.google.com/status/appengine/detail/datastore/2010/03/11#ae-trust-detail-datastore-put-latency). About how much CPUTime is used by a single datastore put with data size of 100 bytes, into an entity that has only 2 columns, and no indexes? I plan to do some testing with this later today to figure it out, but if anyone already knows that would help me out :). Also, does anyone know about how much extra overhead in CPUTime doing this datastore put through the task queue would be?   • Handling hundreds of dependencies with ant

    Hi guys, I have to refactor an ant xml file. Basicly I have one big task that checkouts (using cvs) a lot of dependencies, build them, and then copy all the jar/wsdl generated by building them to a directory that I specify. If one dependency version changes, I have to change the name in at least 3 places on the xml file (cvs checkout, build, copy). What I'd like to have is just a single place where I can specify my dependencies name, without having to search & replace the dependency name through the code. One of the problems is that the cvs project could be /path1/path2/project with tag=v12 but then the jars generated by the single project build could be several with different names, so it seems to be a bit complicated. Do you have any idea on how I can get this done?

  • Pros and Cons of Access Data Project (MS Access front end with SQL Server Backend)

    I have been tasked with moving an existing MS Access application (mdb) over to an Access Data Project (adp). Basically the Access forms will remain the same but the data will be migrated over to SQL Server. I am not too familiar with Access Data Projects so I was hoping I could get some opinions on the pros and cons of using them. My first thought was to convert this to a web application or even a Winform application, however I really wanted to perform due dilligence in looking at Access Data Projects before making a decision.   • VIM Disable Automatic Newline At End Of File

    So I work in a PHP shop, and we all use different editors, and we all have to work on windows. I use vim, and everyone in the shop keeps complaining that whenever I edit a file there is a newline at the bottom. I've searched around and found that this is a documented behavior of vi & vim... but I was wondering if there was some way to disable this feature. (It wouldbe best if I could disable it for specific file extensions). If anyone knows about this, that would be great!

All i want to do is when subscribe button is pushed, a variable is send ( post get i dont care ) payment is completed and landed on the success page, with my variable!     I know there have been several people with the same question. Which is: How do i know when a frame by frame animation has ended? I have not had any useful answer on fora i visited. So i thought, let's see if they know at stackoverflow. At some point the IO thread will not have any new pages to crawl and I want to update my database that this session is complete. How can I best tell when the threads are all done processing and the program can be ended?

    I've got a number of tasks/servlets that are hitting the HardDeadlineExceededError which is leaving everything hanging in an 'still executing' state. The work being done can easily exceed the 29 second threshold. I try to catch the DeadlineExceededException and base Exception in order to save the exit state but neither of these exception handlers are being caught... Is there a way to determine which tasks are in the queue or currently executing? Are there any other strategies for dealing with this situation?

  • Span with white-space style in IE (7) applied _past_ end of span

    We've got an application where users can enter "notes" into a rich edit control (Telerik's RedEditor, but that doesn't matter here). We had a user enter notes from w/in Safari that had a <span></span> in the middle of the note, and that span had a style on it specifying white-space:pre The HTML of the note was in the form of: <div> This is a note <span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span> and here's more of the note. </div> Simple enough, the style should apply to the span, and the span had 4 spaces in it. There should have been 4 spaces in the resulting output. Here's the problem. IE seems to apply that white-space: pre; style not only to the span, but to the enclosing div! Therefore, this long line that should have wrapped since it's not in the span, now pushed the document out until the line fits on the page. What am I missing. I know IE has problems, but this doesn't seem right, even for IE. So, the question(s): 1) Am I correct that the white-space attribute should only have applied to the span? 2) Can this be resolved somehow? Remember, I'm not in control of the content being entered. And it's entered from a mac w/Safari and being viewed in IE.   • how to implement a game character task queue

    I'm working on a personal game engine in C# and need to give certain characters / sprites responses to conditions or certain patterns that they follow and since these patterns will be repeated over and over for other characters / sprites, I don't want to tie the patterns to the character / sprite. I will likely want to define the conditions / actions in level data files... I plan to use this for platformers, space shooters, and pack man like games... Almost an extenable AI system. Any suggestions on how this can be implemented?
