  Please see attached screenshot The background is a bit off in both IE and chrome (although it was working before? hence the exact numbers??), although in ffox it looked allright.. • Long html table looses its background image

  I have about 7500 (short) text lines in a table cell. The table looses its background image on about 1800th line. Is there a limit about the table's length? Text in the cell stays visible till end, but without background. • In JSF, how to handle repeating over a list that mutates

  Hello, In a JSF page, I am iterating over a list of items provided by a session-scoped backing bean. The list needs to be kept up-to-date, so it is replaced with a fresh list every X minutes by a thread (in a thread-safe way). On my page, for each item I provide some text inputs and an "Update" button. If the list is refreshed before I hit "Update", the update does not happen (which is my problem). I happen to be using a4j:repeat, but I think this could also apply to other methods of iteration, including using dataTables. Any thoughts on how I can do this in a non-hackish way? Thanks!

• Oversize cursor in Firefox form with textbox background image

  Hi all, I have a webform with background images on the textboxes to give them a nice rounded corner. In Chrome the textboxes work as expected, however, if I view the form in Firefox the cursor appears to size to the height of the image, but the text is a normal size. Is there a way to override this oversized cursor?   Please help, I have a form on wordpress. I want the user to be able to click an image instead of the standard submit button. I have the image appear and the submit button disappear - but nothing happens when I click on the image. • External html, for headers/navs?

  Hey all, looking to see if theres a way to easily include external html file inside the body to repeat on every page, for instance: a navigator or something. Basically if i have to add a menu item or something, i have to go and paste all the code into each page. Or even a way to section parts off in Dreamweaver to update based on a file or something would work i suppose Ive done it before through JavaScript with document.writes and stuff, but it was very annoying, and probably a terrible way to go about doing so. thanks for your help!

There is no div used, this is the css style body{ background-position:center; background-image:url(../images/images2.jpg) no-repeat; } The above CSS tiles all over and does centralize it, but half the image is not seen, it just kind of moves up.   Using WATIR and Excel, I'd like to take the first row of a table in Excel, visit the URL, then set the 12th link on the page as a variable in the cell next to the cell with the URL, then go to the next line and repeat.   No matter what I do: <meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache" /> <meta http-equiv="Expires" content="Fri, 30 Apr 2010 11:12:01 GMT" /> <meta http-equiv="Expires" content="0" /> <HTTP-EQUIV="PRAGMA" CONTENT="NO-STORE" /> Google Chrome does not reload any page according to the page's internal cache policy if the page is displayed in a frame. It is as though the meta tags are not even there. Google Chrome seems to be ignoring these tags. Since I've gotten answers to this question on other forums where the person responding has ignored the operative condition, I will repeat it: this behavior occurs when the page is displayed in a frame. I was using the latest released version and have since upgraded to 5.0.375.29 beta but the behavior is the same in both versions. Would someone please care to confirm one way or another the behavior you are seeing with framesets and the caching/expiration policies given in meta tags? Thanks

• Playing animations in sequence in objecive c

  Let's say I have a Java class abstract class Base { abstract void init(); ... } and I know every derived class will have to call init() after it's constructed. I could, of course, simply call it in the derived classes' constructors: class Derived1 extends Base { Derived1() { ... init(); } } class Derived2 extends Base { Derived2() { ... init(); } } but this breaks "don't repeat yourself" principle rather badly (and there are going to be many subclasses of Base). Of course, the init() call can't go into the Base() constructor, since it would be executed too early. Any ideas how to bypass this problem? I would be quite happy to see a Scala solution, too.

• How to find validity of a string of parentheses, curly brackets and square brackets?

  I recently came in contact with this interesting problem. You are given a string containing just the characters '(', ')', '{', '}', '[' and ']', for example, "[{()}]", you need to write a function which will check validity of such an input string, function may be like this: bool isValid(char* s); these brackets have to close in the correct order, for example "()" and "()[]{}" are all valid but "(]", "([)]" and "{{{{" are not! I came out with following O(n) time and O(n) space complexity solution, which works fine: Maintain a stack of characters. Whenever you find opening braces '(', '{' OR '[' push it on the stack. Whenever you find closing braces ')', '}' OR ']' , check if top of stack is corresponding opening bracket, if yes, then pop the stack, else break the loop and return false. Repeat steps 2 - 3 until end of the string. This works, but can we optimize it for space, may be constant extra space, I understand that time complexity cannot be less than O(n) as we have to look at every character. So my question is can we solve this problem in O(1) space?

  I have a model structure: Category hasMany Product hasMany Stockitem belongsTo Warehouse, Manufacturer. I fetch data with this code, using containable to be able to filter deeper in the associated models: $this->Category->find('all', array( 'conditions' => array('Category.id' => $category_id), 'contain' => array( 'Product' => array( 'Stockitem' => array( 'conditions' => array('Stockitem.warehouse_id' => $warehouse_id), 'Warehouse', 'Manufacturer', ) ) ), ) ); Data structure is returned just fine, however, I get multiple repeating queries like, sometimes hundreds of such queries in a row, based on dataset. SELECT `Warehouse`.`id`, `Warehouse`.`title` FROM `beta_warehouses` AS `Warehouse` WHERE `Warehouse`.`id` = 2 Basically, when building data structure Cake is fetching data from mysql over and over again, for each row. We have datasets of several thousand rows, and I have a feeling that it's going to impact performance. Is it possible to make it cache results and not repeat same queries?

• Objective - C, fastest way to show sequence of images in UIImageView

  I have hundreds of images, which are frame images of one animation (24 images per second). Each image size is 1024x690. My problem is, I need to make smooth animation iterating each image frame in UIImageView. I know I can use animationImages of UIImageView. But it crashes, because of memory problem. Also, I can use imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@""] that would cache each image, so that the next repeat animation will be smooth. But, caching a lot of images crashed app. Now I use imageView.image = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:@""], which does not crash app, but doesn't make animation so smooth. Maybe there is a better way to make good animation of frame images? Maybe I need to make some preparations, in order to somehow achieve better result. I need your advices. Thank you!

• Creating a contact form using divs with 4 extra divs for "Corners"?

  Hi there, i have tried to create a contact form (a standard form, square in nature but with rounded corners)... I can't use the CSS3 specs so i have an image for each corner.. I have set the images on the background-image and no repeat but it seems if the div is empty then it doesn't display, is there a hack - although prefer an alternative clean method :-) So on the top level i presume i have 1 div for the Upper-Left (corner) and then the upper-middle (just has a color assigned) and then a div for the upper-right (corner) .. so i presume i need to float all these to the left???   I need to create a MySQL query that generates 4 rows for each row in the table it references. I need some of the information in those rows to repeat and some to be different. In the table each row stands for one day. I need to break the day up in 6 hour increments, hence the four rows for each entry. I need to create one column which for each day will have '12AM', '6AM', '12PM', and '6PM' values and another column will have the corresponding numeric values calculated for those entries.
