• Searching for a semantic syntax highlighter in Javascript

  OK, I know, there are literally dozens of already available syntax highlighters out there. But I want one specifically, that implements line numbers through <ol/> lists. And that reduces the number of possible candidates to one, Lighter.js. Unfortunately, that is MooTools based, and since I decided some time ago to use jQuery, I don't want to embed yet another library just for syntax highlighting. The SyntaxHighlighter does something similar, but uses tables for the line numbering, and I don't want to hack it, if there is an already available tool, too.

• How to create Server-side Progress indicator in Javascript

  Hey Guys, I want to create a section in my site, where a user has a few simple update buttons. Each of these update buttons will be going to the server, and will do a long crunching behind the scene. While the server crunches data, I want the user to have a some kind of progress indicator, like progress bar or textual percentage. I'm using jQuery as my javascript library, and CodeIgniter (PHP) as the server-side framework, if it's important... What I was thinking about is using PHP's flush() function to report progress status to jQuery, but I'm not sure that jQuery's ajax functions are reading the output before it's complete... So any advice/explanation would be useful and helpful! Thanks :)

• How to troubleshoot dependencies not copying.

  I have an EXE project A, which references a class library project B (all in the same solution). Project B has a reference to about 10 3rd party DLLs (from DevExpress). All the referenced assemblies have Copy Local set to true. When I build the entire solution, the resulting DLL from project B is copied into the bin/debug of project A. However, none of the dependencies of project B get copied. I looked in the Output window during compile and all looks good. There aren't any errors. How do I troubleshoot this?

• How to run unit tests with DSSS and GDC?

  I am very new to D and still battling trying to configure my toolchain. I am running Ubuntu Karmic and would like to use DSSS with GDC and Tango or TangoBos. Till now, I installed GDC from Ubuntu repositories, DSSS, Tango and TangoBos from these repositories and I can compile using dsss + gdc + tangobos. According to DSSS documentation, it should be possible to run the unit tests using $ dsss build --test but on my system, the --test argument is ignored. I have dsss last version (0.78) and its inline help does not include anything about unit tests. Running ldc --unittest works fine (though I do not know exactly which libray it picks up). Is there a way to run my unit tests using the same compiler & library than for compilation? If so, is there a way to automate the testing or will I have to run it module per module?

  Hi have noticed today whilst writing a simple iPhone app that Xcode sometimes starts a new folder in applications, whilst your still working on the same app. /Users/Fuzzygoat/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User/Applications/4E5EF4F0-F410-46A6-888C-0D23BB97D2DC Does anyone know what causes Xcode to swap to a new app folder (i.e. the one named "4E5EF4F0-F410-46A6-888C-0D23BB97D2DC") EDIT_001: One thing I have noticed is that I have been doing a lot of quitting an application and restarting to check a set of archive methods, and that does tend to confuse it sometimes. A couple of times it has not found saved data, I guess this is just a side effect of constantly running the simulator over and over via Xcode. Things seem to go just fine if I test on the Simulator without Xcode, for a start the folder keeps the same name. NB: I am using NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains to get the documents folder each time. gary

• Compiling OpenSSL for boost asio for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

  I compiled boost with bjam, and then I compiled OpenSSL. Both of them work separately. I set up the links in Visual Studio 10 to point to my OpenSSL library directory.   I have a custom tag, packaged into a library jar that is included in my web apps war file. I could test a couple classes successfully. But I got error when testing the following: - (id)init { if (self = [super initWithNibName:@"Foo" bundle:nil]) { ... } return self; } The error message is -[UIViewController _loadViewFromNibNamed:bundle:] was unable to load a nib named "Foo" My question: Did I do something wrong? • TTRequestLoader always raises "TTDASSERT failed: _cacheKey == request.cacheKey"

  I run the TTCatalog application from the Three20 library and encountered this error when click on the "Photo Thumbnails" of the "Three20 Catalog": TTDASSERT failed: _cacheKey == request.cacheKey I look at the breakpoint and see that it is on line 119 of TTRequestLoader.m of the method addRequest. I know that it failed to do the assertion of the cacheKey, but why this error appears even on the sample application, does anyone encounter the same error? What is the workaround of this? Thanks, P/S: I downloaded the Three20 from the git directory just yesterday. So I assume this be the newest one.

  Hi. I'm finding a way to extract semantic structural informations (like title, heading, paragraph or lists) from PDF. Because I want to get a pure structural data from PDF. Finally, I want to create an pure XHTML from the PDF. With only structural informations. No design or layout. I know, PDF can be created without any structural information. I don't consider those PDFs. Only regularly well-structured PDFs are considered. I'm new to PDF. So I don't know it offers regular semantic structure or not. If it exists, it's library will offer it. So I want to know whether PDF spec has those information, and best way to get those information if exists.

• 10035 error on a blocking socket

  Does anyone have any idea what could cause a 10035 error (EWOULDBLOCK) when reading on a blocking socket with a timeout? This is under Windows XP using the .NET framework version 3.5 socket library. I've never managed to get this myself, but one of my colleagues is getting it all the time. He's sending reasonably large amounts of data to a much slower device and then waiting for a response, which often gives a 10035 error. I'm wondering if there could be issues with TCP buffers filling up, but in that case I would expect the read to wait or timeount. The socket is definitely blocking, not non-blocking.

  I'm trying to get YouTube feeds with the python gdata library. Authentication features work ok, yt_service.ProgrammaticLogin() works, generating subauth token works, etc., but when I try to get some feeds (GetMostRecentVideoFeed, GetYouTubeVideoEntry, even GetFeed, and any other) I get: RequestError: {'status': 302, 'body': '<HTML><HEAD><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8">\n<TITLE>302 Moved</TITLE></HEAD><BODY>\n<H1>302 Moved</H1>\nThe document has moved\n<A HREF="http://www.google.com">here</A>.\r\n</BODY></HTML>\r\n', 'reason': 'Redirect received, but redirects_remaining <= 0'} 302 to 'google.com'??? • Are there any free .NET OCR libraries that will perform OCR on an application window directly?

  I am looking for a free .NET OCR library that will be able to do OCR on a given application window or even a image in memory (I can take a snapshot of the application window myself). I have looked at tessnet2 and MODI but both require an image located on disk. I need to use OCR because the application I am trying to write a script for does some wacky stuff that cannot be read using windows API and I need to scrape data from the screen. I have tested both of tessnet2 and MODI and they both can read the text mostly but because this has to run in an enviroment that will not be able to write to disk, I need it to be able to read directly from the applciation window or some type of memory stream. I am thinking OCR is my only soution but there could be other methods that I am not thinking of. Suggestions?

  Hi, We have a requirement to upload documents to a specific SharePoint document library when a document is sent via email to a specific email address. I think SharePoint has this feature available. What I would like to know more importantly is mapping the information in the body of the email to the custom properties of the document. For example, if a custom field (property) is added to the document in SharePoint say - "Year". I provide the value of this property within the body of the email and attach the document in email. Is it possible that the provided value in the body of the email for the property is updated in SharePoint when the document is uploaded to SharePoint through email? We are using SharePoint 2007.   Dear all, I am in the middle of the road whether to use jQuery UI or Scriptaculous for drag and drop. I am using Ruby on Rails, and Scriptaculous support in Ruby on Rails is superb with the existence of scriptaculous_helper.rb. But I have already use jQuery for the ajax and DOM manipulation. I do not mind to use scriptaculous since we can use jQuery.noConflict() in the code. I also kind of get the impression that scriptaculous drag and drop is better than jQuery UI drag and drop based on the online demos. So back to the original question, which one would you recommend as a drag and drop library and which one do you think is better than the other? Scriptaculous or jQuery UI?

I need 3 actions. 1) When user click in textarea i want display DIV what will contain preview, i want animate opening. 2) When user typing, i want dynamical load parsed by PHP code to DIV. (i'm still thinking what will be best option... refresh every 2 seconds, or maybe we can detect and refresh after 1 second of inactivity [stop typing]) 3) When user click outside textarea i want close preview div with animation. For example the PHP parser will have patch /api/parser.php and variable by POST called $_POST['message']. Any idea my digital friends ?

  I am using Joda Time library to convert my String dates to a real date, because this seemed like the easiest solution to do this.
