Did Windows 7 Startup Repair trash My Documents?

Earlier today, I rebooted my computer. Partway through the boot process, it shut down suddenly. When I tried again, I was prompted to run Startup Repair, and I did. Afterwards, my computer booted normally and everything seemed to be in order. Then I noticed that my My Documents folder contains a mix of old and new files. On closer inspection, it appears that Windows has reverted my system to a previous state. Two things puzzle me: 1) According to Microsoft, "System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos [...]", yet many of my personal files have been affected. 2) Why were some things reverted, but not others? I had recently reorganized a bunch of files in My Documents. The reverted directory structure seems to be a hybrid of old a new, with a lot of new stuff missing. It's hard to say for sure, but it looks like the stuff that's missing would have been in conflict (two folders with the same name, for example), and Windows favored the old stuff. Is this normal behavior for Startup Repair/System Restore? To modify personal files, I mean? Is there a pattern to the mess it's made of My Documents?

Logging won't stop on log file after renaming/moving it.... how do I stop it?

Just discovered that logrotate is not rotating our firewall log. So it's up to 12G in size. I need to split up the file into smaller chunks and start manually rotating them so I can get things back on track. However before I start splitting the firewall up, I need to stop the firewall from logging to the current firewall log file and force it to start logging to a new empty file. This way I'm not trying to split up or rotate a log file that is still constantly growing. I tried to simply do this: mv firewall firewall.old touch firewall I expected to see the new empty firewall file to start growing in size, but no... the firewall.old is still be logged to. Then I tried to start/stop iptables. No change. firewall.old is still the log file. I tried to move it to another directory. That didn't help. I tried to stop iptables, then change the filename and create a new firewall file and then start iptables again, but no change. How do I stop the logging on this file and force it to start logging on a new file?

Shrink Windows OS partition with unmovable files

I am trying to shink Windows 7 OS partition C: but cannot shrink as much as I plan due to unmovable files. I have tried Windows own defrag tool before but it does not move files that are unmovable. Here are some ideas I have learned from previous posts, and I hope at least one of them will work and wish to know the detail how to do: Inspired by this post, which suggests backup C:, then delete C: , create a smaller partition, and then copy the backup to the smaller partition. I was wondering if anyone here can confirm that Windows 7 will still work in this way? What reliable tools can be used for backuping the system, and deleting and creating partition, and then copying back the backup in this method? I am actually trying another way suggested in this post. I have identified what unmovable file currently stop further shrinking: \ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\Projects\SystemIndex\Indexer\CiFiles\00010015.wid::$DATA If I understand correctly, the file belongs to Windows Search. Can I set up somewhere in Windows system settings to temperately eliminate the file and similar ones (because there are many similar files under the same directory which I guess will also stand in the way of shrinking and unmovable by defrag)? Any other idea that might work will also be appreciated. Thanks and regards!

Is there a way to create a script/BAT that changes my desktop image... if so how? [duplicate]

You can run files when the program starts/locks and closes/unlocks. What I would like to do is create a script/bat that changes my desktop background to an image when I click "lock" and another script to change the desktop image when I "unlock". Is there a simple script or BAT file that someone knows of that does this??? or knows how to do this??? I would like to be able to modify it myself so it is the picture I would like to be selected. So all I would do is change the file directory of the image used on the background in the BAT file/script. EDIT: Thank you for the link! It hleped out a bit but I still have one question... allow public access to subfolder of protected folder on apache

I have password-protected the root folder of my website while i do maintenance, but I want to display a custom 401 error page to let people know the site is under construction. Unfortunately, my web host doesn't allow me write access to anything outside the root folder of my website, so this custom error page must by stored in the root folder or one of its subfolders. Instead of my custom error page I get the Apache default error page and it also says "Additionally, a 401 Authorization Required error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." I searched for ways to make a subfolder of a protected directory public, and all I could find was to use the "Satisfy any" directive, but this doesn't work for me. Secure filesharing protocol for fileserver

I'm setting up a fileserver, and I want lots of clients to easily access it. Up to now I've always used SSHFS to share between different PCs, but since I'm setting up a single fileserver, I'm looking for other common alternatives. Up to now I've seen: AFS: It seems it has no security, traffic is unencrypted, so it would require an SSH tunnel. If I'm to use SSH, I'd just use SSHFS. NFS: Same as above. Also, setting up the server is not so straighforward, it doesn't seem to be KISS enough - at least not for my liking. SMB: Same as AFS. It also seems not to be too well documented, and technically, seems a bit poor. It also seems the protocol isn't formally standardized. SSHFS has security, but as a downside, requieres every user to have an account on the server - there's no way to make a certain directory PUBLIC either. I don't think it has locking, and isn't very fault-tolerant. Are there any alternatives I've missing?

How to access files on a USB-connected NTFS disk removed from a Win7 notebook?

My daughter seems to have fried her motherboard in her Lenovo Notebook. The disk seems to be fine. I removed the disk and used a universal disk-to-USB kit to attach it to another computer. The disk is recognized fine and I can peruse it in Windows Explorer. The problem is that the files she would like to recover from it are located in places that Windows refuses to let me access. When I try, for example, to enter the directory "Documents and Settings" it gives me an "Access is denied" error. Same thing when I try to go into the various User directories and other locations. I thought to try creating a Ghost image & retrieve the files from that, but Ghost seems to croak when I try to run it - apparently it doesn't like accessing the disk via a USB connection (even though I've told it to install the drivers for USB). Any other ideas about how to get to the files I need, either through Windows or perhaps some other OS that I could boot from a CD that can read an NTFS disk? Thanks, Yosh

Do I need to install mssql before I can use mssql.so with php on unix?

I didn't install any MSSQL instance on my localhost that runs windows. I just used the xampp package and uncommented the modules used for mssql. The mssql server resides on another Windows Server so I believe I only needed a simple connector module. I hoped that it would be the same for Unix. But whenever I open my site on the unix production server, (i use codeigniter btw) the logs tell me it stops script execution after Database Driver Class Initialized. I am not really familiar on installing apache and friends on unix and I wasn't responsible on how the server was set-up. But it turns out that there is no mssql.so found on the php modules directory so i tried to google for one. While the forums are telling me to just compile the script, I couldn't just do that simply as I have no write access to the server and plus it seems upon installation of php, phpize didn't get installed with it too. Hope someone can shed light to me regarding this. I think its just easier if I can get a mssql.so for PHP 4.4.4

Virtual hosting in lighttpd?

Ok, here it goes... I've seen some other posts dealing with this, but it didn't help that much. I am using windows XP. My problem is with trying to get lighttpd working with virtual hosts. Now, I managed to get everything up and working with the default /htdocs and the default page shows up just fine on the internet, but since I have several sites to host, I need virtual hosting. I managed to do it in apache, so I guessed it would work out just fine in lighttpd, but apparently I'm missing something. Ok, let's say I have domain (www.)example.org. I want everyone using that url going to the correct index.html, obviously. Let's say that index.html is in directory "websites/website1" placed under the lighttpd dir. (thus, the full path is c:/ProgramsFiles/lighttpd/websites/website1/index.html) Now: how, exactly, do I set up my virtual host (in the config file)? In detail, please, since I've tried for hours with the vague hints I got from fora and such, but it doesn't work. Also; is there something additional to do? Change the "server.bind" or get rid of the default server.document-root, or something? I appreciate all the help you can give! Especially if it's a verbatim/step-by-step solution you're offering! ;-p Edit: And, yes, my mod_simple_vhost has been enabled.

imagecreatefromjpeg() stops working after server upgrade

We have a server located at a local company's place of business running Solaris/Apache/PHP. They recently did an update to Solaris, Apache, and PHP (security update patches, etc.). Unfortunately it has caused the image manipulation portion of our software to break. imagecreatefromjpeg() is now generating the following error: Warning: imagecreatefromjpeg() [function.imagecreatefromjpeg]: '/path/to/file/filename.jpg' is not a valid JPEG file in /path/to/file/Image.class.php on line XX No PHP code was changed during the server upgrade and it was fully functional before the software upgrades. I checked the files being passed to imagecreatefromjpeg() and they are indeed valid (they open successfully in both image editing software and in my browser). I checked the permissions of the directory from which the files are being opened and they do have read permission. GD library is enabled. I'm not sure what else I can check. Based on the scenario above I am guessing something changed in the software but I don't know what it could be. PHP was version 5.2.5 and is now 5.2.13. I appreciate any guidance as to what could be cause of this issue.

Safely transfer files from pc with internet connection to lan without allowing any other form of communication

In the company that I work there are computers that are connected to the Internet and computers that are connected to a Local Area Network. The LAN is considered a "safe zone" and the files that reside there should never be copied/moved to a computer that has Internet Access. So, now, if we want to download an installer for an application for example, we download it in a pc that has Internet Access and then move it using a "secure USB stick" to the Local Area Network. Is there a way to create an "safe, one-way connection" between a computer with Internet access and a computer from the LAN? This practically means that only files from the computer with the Internet access can be copied/moved to the LAN. In addition to that, if you want to transfer files you would have to provide your security credentials for the network (so, that only users with the appropriate access levels will be able to transfer files). Is it possible to create something like that and make it completely safe (or at least "equally safe" with the USB method that we currently use) or the fact that the computer with Internet access is connected with a wire to the LAN is a security risk by itself? NOTE: the LAN setup involves 2 Windows 2003 servers with Active Directory, Web servers and pretty much all the services that you would expect to find in a Windows network.

I'm serving static pages from a Sinatra application using Nginx. I've implemented Basic Authentication for one page on the site using NginxHttpAuthBasicModule, the authentication succeeds but Nginx doesn't resolve the link. Is there any any merit to routinely restore a linux system, even if unnecessary?

I do fieldwork with a number of computers running ubuntu performing critical tasks doing fieldwork. The computers are similarly configured with slight variations. Since we've had some configuration issues in the past, my boss is pressing for us to take an image of the installation on each computer, and restore each computer to that image before they are to go into the field. My preferred solution would be to write a common script that checks to ensure that the configuration of the system is correct and that the system is operational. If the computer has been verified, isn't restoring it to that configuration redundant? And are there any inherent problems with doing so? My reluctance stems from the fact that our software and configuration is subject to change in the field, but these changes must be made across all the computers. That means that when a change is made, all the restoration images have to be updated as well. The differences in the configuration of each of the computers live in /etc. In the event that restoration is required, I would prefer to keep a single image containing everything that is common to all machines, and have a snapshot of each computer's /etc directory to be used for restoring the state of that particular machine. What's the better approach?

Corrupted Laptop - Transfer Data Without My Computer (explorer.exe) Using Command Line

I have a laptop (Toshiba Satellite) that is pretty messed up. The person this belongs too already replaced it with a new machine. My job is to transfer all her data from this machine to disk so that I can transfer it to her. She doesn't want to lose any data (understandably so). Any operation I attempted (i.e., double clicking on any folder icon, like My Documents, My Computer, etc) resulted din a complete crash. The only good news is that I can actually start and navigate around using the command line. Also, I can access the internet. I have a network, so if I can map the drives I can get this thing figured out (hopefully). Also, I tried a USB drive but I couldn't figure out how to access it from the command line. Two questions (I need to use the command line for these): How would I go about accessing the USB drive and how can I map the shared drives on my network so that I may cd to that directory for use of the copy command?

Raspberry Pi how to format HDD

Hi I am very new to Raspberry Pi environment, so looking for a bit of help to format a usb hard disk drive. I ran lsblk and got sda 8:0 0 37.3G 0 disk sda1 8:1 0 37.3G 0 part looking on web, if tried the following "sudo mkfs.ext4 /dev/sda1 -L USB40gb" it did something but when I tried to mount the drive again, it still showed the files that were there before and I can not create new file/folder "Error creating directory: Permission denied" I am writing this from my windows 8.1 pc so can not cut and paste from the pi. trying to format its output is a bit hard. Oh, there is Nothing written after the word "part" above. There use to be /media/USB40gb so I have done something because this has disappeared. I am using PCManFM 0.9.10 It does not have a format option, which would make life a lot easier, but then its not windows. I think I am running the basic linux os for the pi. It boots to a graphic environment, but I do not know how to advise what it is. I think its OpenBox 2.0.4 Thanks in advance Speed PS: I reran the format string above but this time I changed the label to read USB37gb. I did this to confirm that I was in fact formatting the right drive. Low and behold, it actually formatted the drive, wiping everything from it. Great ... testing it by creating a new folder on the drive and get error msg Permission Denied! So I have fixed the formatting issue by trial and error but still can't use the drive... Suggestions anyone?

Trouble Starting MySL Community Server on Windows 7

I have installed Netbeans 7 on my Windows 7. In addition, the MySQL Community Server 5.6.12 is installed with the MSI installer on thesame 7 PC. The MySQL server is integrated with the Netbeans IDE. However , it is not possible to start or stop the MySQL server from the command prompt or the Netbeans IDE. I am only able to start or stop the server from the Windows 7 services tool. Also , it is difficult running SQL queries from the Netbeans IDE even though it shows there is connection with the MySQL server. How do I change the default ftp folder in Mac OS X 10.6?

I'm running WordPress 2.9.1 from a Mac running 10.6.3. WordPress is installed to the /Library/WebServer/Documents folder. WordPress has a feature called Auto Update. Clicking an auto update button will download and install updated versions of the WordPress software, or third-party plugin tools. It's a convenient way to keep things up to date. WordPress uses FTP to download the files. I've enabled FTP and set up a user account and opened the requisite ports in my firewall for FTP traffic. This doesn't seem to be enough for my self-hosted installation, though. I'm sure this feature was originally designed for someone who has access to a remote shared webserver, and that it's merely a configuration challenge related to the FTP setup. I feel that if I can adjust the initial directory that the FTP service presents to the AutoUpdate feature, everything else will work properly. So, my question is, how do I adjust what folder is presented when a given user connects to a Mac running 10.6.3 via FTP?

Folder doesn't show up in explorer, cmd, and python even though I can access it, how can I fix this?

I am accessing another computer on the network using a mapped network drive. The path looks like \\192.168.0.100\d$ which is mapped to my computer's "m" drive. I can access, view, create, delete, move, etc folders on this drive. However, some folders don't show up in windows explorer, even tho I can access them. Example: Lets say that M:\stuff\more_stuff is a directory. What I can't do: When windows explorer is pointed at M:\stuff I can't see more_stuff In cmd prompt pointed at M:\stuff "dir" doesn't find more_stuff In cmd prompt pointed at M:\stuff "dir /a" doens't find more_stuff In python, os.listdir at M:\stuff doens't find more_stuff What I can do: Typing M:\stuff\more_stuff into the address bar lets me access the folder like normal. Because there is no indication that this folder even exists, there could be more like them. I have no way of knowing how many folders are magically hidden on this mapped drive. What are some steps I can do to figure out why this folder is hidden? (With the end goal of making it no longer hidden).

Refresh NFS mount

If I check an NFS share on a machine and ls I get the folders. If I got to the NFS host and add a new directory to /etc/exports for the client and do exportfs -a what do I run on the client to refresh the directories? Example (pseudoish): nfsNode01: echo "/share clientNode01 >> /etc/exports"; exportfs -a; clientNode01: cd /share; ls; nfsNode01: echo "/share/folder clientNode01 >> /etc/exports"; exportfs -a; clientNode01: ls; Results as still the same as above. If I reboot the /share/folder shares are there. I know there has to be a way to refresh that info from NFS. I'm sure if I let the connection wait long enough the next time I mounted /dsl would do it. Can I just umount/mount or is there a better way?

BYOD (accessing files) on a domain without joining?

I run a Samba 4 instance at a small private school. This makes a regular Linux server appear as a directory controller. There are two relevant benefits to this: I have a Samba share for people's documents, and I use the Redirected Folders feature to allow any employee to sit down at any PC, log in with their domain credentials, and their My Documents points to network storage. Everyone has a mapped drive (using Group Policy Preferences) to a share specific to their account type. Students can access one share (one share for all students), teachers have another, and office staff have another. However, I would like to allow BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). Some employees are already asking for it with their personal laptops, and I know eventually most everyone will want to. Is there any way to replicate the two features above without having to join PCs to the domain? Joining personal PCs is impractical if only because only professional editions of Windows support this. Ideally, any operating system (including mobile) could access the relevant shares, but of course Windows is key. Offline caching is optional. (I could set up OpenVPN for teachers who want to access their files from home.) The problem with simply giving SSH access to the relevant shares is primarily that Samba 4 relies on ext4 ACLs and ext4 extended attributes to maintain NTFS permissions. Writing files directly to the Linux server would bypass this and would (probably) not be interoperable with Samba4. Right now I am completely flexible. I am even fine with scrapping the whole domain and using some other software for the two features above. How can I allow school employees and students freedom to securely share files without requiring everyone to have specific editions of Windows?

What is the potential for a FUSE mount to destabilize a Linux server?

I'm a sysadmin for a multi-user server, where students in our department have shell accounts. One of our users has requested that we install sshfs on it. I'm debating whether it would be wise to install sshfs as suggested. My main concern is whether a FUSE mount could make our server less reliable. In my experience, bad things can happen to servers when an NFS server suddenly becomes unavailable — the load average shoots up, and you might not be able to unmount it cleanly, to the point where a hard reboot might be necessary. If a FUSE-mounted server suddenly disappears, how hard might it be to clean up the mess? Are there any other likely catastrophes or gotchas I should consider? At least with NFS, only root can mount, and we can choose to mount NFS servers that we consider to be reasonably reliable. Let's assume that our users have no hostile intentions, but might do stupid things accidentally. Also, I'm not really worried about the contents of the filesystems they might mount, since our users already have shell access and can copy anything they want to their home directory.

Java Cloud Service Integration to REST Service

Service (JCS) provides a platform to develop and deploy business applications in the cloud. In Fusion Applications Cloud deployments customers do not have the option to deploy custom applications developed with JDeveloper to ensure the integrity and supportability of the hosted application service. Instead the custom applications can be deployed to the JCS and integrated to the Fusion Application Cloud instance. This series of articles will go through the features of JCS, provide end-to-end examples on how to develop and deploy applications on JCS and how to integrate them with the Fusion Applications instance. In this article a custom application integrating with REST service will be implemented. We will use REST services provided by Taleo as an example; however the same approach will work with any REST service. In this example the data from the REST service is used to populate a dynamic table. Pre-requisites Access to Cloud instance In order to deploy the application access to a JCS instance is needed, a free trial JCS instance can be obtained from Oracle Cloud site. To register you will need a credit card even if the credit card will not be charged. To register simply click "Try it" and choose the "Java" option. The confirmation email will contain the connection details. See this video for example of the registration.Once the request is processed you will be assigned 2 service instances; Java and Database. Applications deployed to the JCS must use Oracle Database Cloud Service as their underlying database. So when JCS instance is created a database instance is associated with it using a JDBC data source.The cloud services can be monitored and managed through the web UI. For details refer to Getting Started with Oracle Cloud. JDeveloper JDeveloper contains Cloud specific features related to e.g. connection and deployment. To use these features download the JDeveloper from JDeveloper download site by clicking the "Download JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.1 for ADF deployment on Oracle Cloud" link, this version of JDeveloper will have the JCS integration features that will be used in this article. For versions that do not include the Cloud integration features the Oracle Java Cloud Service SDK or the JCS Java Console can be used for deployment. For details on installing and configuring the JDeveloper refer to the installation guideFor details on SDK refer to Using the Command-Line Interface to Monitor Oracle Java Cloud Service and Using the Command-Line Interface to Manage Oracle Java Cloud Service. Access to a local database The database associated with the JCS instance cannot be connected to with JDBC. Since creating ADFbc business component requires a JDBC connection we will need access to a local database. 3rd party libraries This example will use some 3rd party libraries for implementing the REST service call and processing the input / output content. Other libraries may also be used, however these are tested to work. Jersey 1.x Jersey library will be used as a client to make the call to the REST service. JCS documentation for supported specifications states: Java API for RESTful Web Services (JAX-RS) 1.1 So Jersey 1.x will be used. Download the single-JAR Jersey bundle; in this example Jersey 1.18 JAR bundle is used. Json-simple Jjson-simple library will be used to process the json objects. Download the JAR file; in this example json-simple-1.1.1.jar is used. Accessing data in Taleo Before implementing the application it is beneficial to familiarize oneself with the data in Taleo. Easiest way to do this is by using a RESTClient on your browser. Once added to the browser you can access the UI: The client can be used to call the REST services to test the URLs and data before adding them into the application. First derive the base URL for the service this can be done with: Method: GET URL: https://tbe.taleo.net/MANAGER/dispatcher/api/v1/serviceUrl/<company name> The response will contain the base URL to be used for the service calls for the company. Next obtain authentication token with: Method: POST URL: https://ch.tbe.taleo.net/CH07/ats/api/v1/login?orgCode=<company>&userName=<user name>&password=<password> The response includes an authentication token that can be used for few hours to authenticate with the service: { "response": { "authToken": "webapi26419680747505890557" }, "status": { "detail": {}, "success": true } } To authenticate the service calls navigate to "Headers -> Custom Header": And add a new request header with: Name: Cookie Value: authToken=webapi26419680747505890557 Once authentication token is defined the tool can be used to invoke REST services; for example: Method: GET URL: https://ch.tbe.taleo.net/CH07/ats/api/v1/object/candidate/search.xml?status=16 This data will be used on the application to be created. For details on the Taleo REST services refer to the Taleo Business Edition REST API Guide. Create Application First Fusion Web Application is created and configured. Start JDeveloper and click "New Application": Application Name: JcsRestDemo Application Package Prefix: oracle.apps.jcs.test Application Template: Fusion Web Application (ADF) Configure Local Cloud Connection Follow the steps documented in the "Java Cloud Service ADF Web Application" article to configure a local database connection needed to create the ADFbc objects. Configure Libraries Add the 3rd party libraries into the class path. Create the following directory and copy the jar files into it: <JDEV_USER_HOME>/JcsRestDemo/lib Select the "Model" project, navigate "Application -> Project Properties -> Libraries and Classpath -> Add JAR / Directory" and add the 2 3rd party libraries: Accessing Data from Taleo To access data from Taleo using the REST service the 3rd party libraries will be used. 2 Java classes are implemented, one representing the Candidate object and another for accessing the Taleo repository Candidate Candidate object is a POJO object used to represent the candidate data obtained from the Taleo repository. The data obtained will be used to populate the ADFbc object used to display the data on the UI. The candidate object contains simply the variables we obtain using the REST services and the getters / setters for them: Navigate "New -> General -> Java -> Java Class", enter "Candidate" as the name and create it in the package "oracle.apps.jcs.test.model". Creating ADFbc objects Choose the "Model" project and navigate "New -> Business Tier : ADF Business Components : View Object". On the "Initialize Business Components Project" choose the local database connection created in previous step. On Step 1 enter "JcsRestDemoVO" on the "Name" and choose "Rows populated programmatically, not based on query": On step 2 create the following attributes: CandId Type: Number Updatable: Always Key Attribute: checked Name Type: String Updatable: Always On steps 3 and 4 accept defaults and click "Next". On step 5 check the "Application Module" checkbox and enter "JcsRestDemoAM" as the name: Click "Finish" to generate the objects. Populating the VO To display the data on the UI the "transient VO" is populated programmatically based on the data obtained from the Taleo REST services. Open the "JcsRestDemoVOImpl.java". All code: FullTrust Success Our application is running on three servers, two of them are on Server 2008 Web x64 while the third is running Server 2008 R2 Web x64, all have .NET 3.5 installed, no .NET 4.0 installations. The problem only occurs on the first two that are running 2008 non R2. Running depends.exe on all three servers gives equal results for the nonR2 servers: My DLL is shown as x86 (compiled as AnyCPU, running in x64 w3wp), all other modules show as x64. Missing IESHIMS.DLL and LINKINFO.DLL - both of these seem to be red herrings according to Google. The third server shows the same, except it does not miss LINKINFO.DLL All servers are running IIS7 (7.5 for the R2 one) under a custom domain account that has been granted the necessary permissions: aspnet_regiis -ga [user] Load user profile is set to false on all three servers. I've tried setting this to true on one of the faulting servers, according to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1846816/iis7-failed-to-grant-minimum-permission-requests By running processmonitor I can see that it's now using the C:\Users\TEMP\AppData\Local\Temp directory for various temp files - the other ones are not using any such directory. So far I'll let it run in this way to see if this changes anything. I'm in doubt however given that the third server is not exhibiting the problems, yet still has "Load user profile" set to the same value, false. I've also tried running Fuslogvw on all three servers, logging binding failures to disk. All three servers report the same binding errors for VJSharpCodeProvider and CppCodeProvider, but these seem to be normal as well and can be solved by not defining the DEBUG and TRACE constants during build. We're running about 500 websites on each server (identical, load balanced), of which 50 are under moderate load, the problem has arisen both under heavy load as well as under minimal load however. Right now I'm waiting for the errors to happen again so I can hopefully see a pattern and determine whether "Load user profile" alleviates the issue. Any suggestions in the meantime would be very welcome! Also, I don't understand how the lack of "Load user profile" would cause an issue like this? And even further, how it would seemingly work on R2 but not on plain 2008? Thanks!
