• "iTunes.app" to accept incoming network connections?

  Every time I open iTunes I get the the following warning: Do you want the application "iTunes.app" to accept incoming network connections? Clicking Deny may limit the application's behavior. This setting can be changed in the Firewall pane of Security preferences. I always click "Allow" but it still pops up. I set the OS X firewall to allow incoming connections for iTunes. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

• Copy CakePHP site under IIS webroot?

  I've got a CakePHP application that uses a MSSql server running on windows server 2008r2 enterprise using IIS 7.5 My application is the only website running and is installed into wwwroot with cakephp installed to c:\inetpub (one level up from the site) I want to copy this site so i can have a development version to work on, without conflicting with the live site. how do i go about doing this? i'm confused, since previous set ups i've seen have a different folder in wwwroot for the site itself.

• Ideal way to set global uncaught exception Handler in Android

  I want to set a global uncaught exception handler for all the threads in my Android application. So, in my Application subclass I set an implementation of Thread.UncaughtExceptionHandler as default handler for uncaught exceptions. Thread.setDefaultUncaughtExceptionHandler( new DefaultExceptionHandler(this)); In my implementation, I am trying to display an AlertDialog displaying appropriate exception message. However, this doesn't seem to work. Whenever, an exception is thrown for any thread which goes un-handled, I get the stock, OS-default dialog (Sorry!-Application-has-stopped-unexpectedly dialog). What is the correct and ideal way to set a default handler for uncaught exceptions? Thanks.

  Hello, I had to run AVG to clear a virus but now when I start my laptop it gives a message of This application has failed to start because of BHO.DLL was not found.   hello fellow java developers, Having a little issue with creating a java application on a macintosh computer (snow leopard). I've set up my application in eclipse, added all of the appropriate jar files, but for some reason the code is not recognizing some of my variables as valid types. I've imported the libraries via import javax.mail.*; import javax.mail.internet.*; These libraries are not recognized by the application. BUT I've put them on the build path! Any advice on how to fix this?

• How do I deploy a utility with ocx dependency to a test machine without registering the ocx?

  I have a test utility that depends upon an ocx file that is installed/registered on my development machine. We'd like to run this tool on a test machine without polluting the machine with any unnecessary files. Nothing should be installed except the target machine software. Running the tool on a network drive or from a stand-alone directory copied to the test machine would be ideal. But, registering the ocx on the test machine is out of the question. Placing the ocx file in the same directory as the exe doesn't work. No matter what it still gives me this error--"The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem." What else can I try?

  I hava a Background Worker and a DataGrid in my c# Application. In do work of my Backgroundworker which will call an Api in my dlls which will enter some Data in a SQLite Database. After the Completion of my Api call I report a progress and In progress event of my Backgroundworker I get the contents from Db and assign it as a DataSource to my grid. I call same API in same backgroundworker. In the middle of processing my application crashes. But If I dont assign the dataSource in ProgressChanged my application doesnt crashes.

This would probably fetch geopy and its dependencies, but would not fetch adam_geography which is available from a custom repo inside my VPC. How do I specify/upload private, internal Python package dependencies in a Beanstalk application?

• c++ networking issue- retrnsmittion without ccongestion

  I wrote an application in c++ which send data over tcp connection to several machines.as part of the protocol I use in my application, the other side sends hearbeat messages from time to time, then I know that the connection is still alive. now, I want this application to work on 100 machines or more at the same time. but, I see that sometimes I don't get these heartbeat messages although they sent: I see in wireshark that the packet arrived, then my OS doesn't ack on this message, so there are some retransmit without any ack from my OS. if I look in the window size property - I saw that there is no issue in this part. what can be the root cause for this behavior? it is something in my code that I should change? this is my select code: int res = select(fdCount, &readFds, NULL, NULL, NULL ); I'm using server 2008 r2. • Can a regex return a match that's not a part of the original string?

  I'm using an application that requires me to provide a regex for various files. It uses the matches from the regex to uniquely identify each file and then use a data store to retrieve metadata about these files. there is however a problem with the application, so it assumes that the data which is used to identify each file is only numeric data. Hence, it stores the results of matches in integers. I control the data store but not the names of the files. Since the application has a bug in it, I was hoping that I could use an encoding scheme to convert the non-numeric data to an integer. But for that I'd require the regex to return something that's not part of the original string as a match. Is this possible?

• How to configure Spring-DM OSGi service for new instance per call?

  I'm starting to delve into using Spring DM and OSGi services in an RCP application. I've created a service which is used by another bundle in the RCP application. It does a lookup of the service via calls to getBundleContext().getServiceReference() using the explicit bundle names and service class names. I'm not using DI anywhere yet. The issue I'm running into is that the service that is returned in the requesting bundle is a singleton. At times I notice a threading issue since it is a "stateful" service. How do I configure the application to get back a new service instance with each call? Here is my spring xml file contents which registers the service: <bean id="myServBean" class="com.xyz.ClassImpl"/> <osgi:service ref="myServBean" class="com.xyz.Class"/>

  I was involved in an interesting debate about the visibility of domain models & was wondering if people here have any good guidance. Per my understanding of MDA, we need not expose the domain model throughout the application layers & tiers The reason being that any change to the domain model has an impact in the overall application The wise thing to do would be to expose light-weight object (DTO's) which are a small sub-set of the domain model to abstract the actual model On the flip side, any change to the domain model would mean changing various DTO's throughout the application for the change to be visible, while if we do expose the domain model, then the change is in a single location Hope to see some comments & thoughts about this.   This is a question that is based on choosing performance over design practices. If I have a method that will be executed many times a second; public static IQueryable<IPerson> InRadius(this IQueryable<IPerson> query, Coordinate center, double radius) { return (from u in query where CallHeavyMathFormula(u, center, radius) select u); } This extension method for IQueryable generates a SQL that does some heavy maths calculation (Cosine, Sine, etc). This would mean the application sends 1-2KB of sql to the server per call. I've heard of placing all application logic, in your application. I also would like to change to a database such as azure or one of those scalable databases in the future. How do I handle something like this? Should I leave it as it is now or write stored procedures? How do applications like twitter or facebook do it?

  I am trying to work with a legacy application in SQL Server which at some point does the following query SELECT serverproperty('EngineEdition') as sqledition The server replies with 2 (which is the correct edition), but the application closes since the app demands to be run over SQL Server Express which is 4. We don't have access to the code and the developer is long gone. Is there a way to configure SQL Server so that when this query is received it simply returns 4 and not the value of the property?   Hi All, I have created a asp.net website, that we are going to deploy at India. All client of this website would be from SWEDEN. This site have option (last login date time) at user's dashboard after successfull login. Now my problem is that if application is deploy at India and user loggedin from SWEDEN then user is able to show only server date time which is of India. My Steps are as following 1. User logged into site first time at 10 AM(server time), surfing starts... 2. Logged out at 10:30 (server time) 3. Application store server datetime in database. 4. Next time user come, application will store same date and time from database as last loggin datetime. How can i store SWEDEN date time in database when user logged out from site, it will in future grow to other country also. Please help?

• Using WCF to expose underlying process

  I have a server application that spins up and monitors about 8 separate processes that gather data from different systems. The server app then runs some calculations over the aggregated data and stores it in a db. Simple stuff. I now have a requirement to modify the process so that it no longer saves data to the db but rather exposes it directly to clients via WCF. That's cool, I've used WCF a fair bit but I'm struggling a little with it for some reason. Basically my plan is to HOST the WCF service in my application and have calls redirect into the internals of my existing application but I can figure out how to do that without getting the WCF class to encapsulate the existing app. I want the service to inside my current app, not become it. Any suggestions?

• Using 'Copy as cURL' from Chrome in windows command line

  So, Google Chrome as this great 'copy as cURL' option under 'Network' of the Chrome DevTools. Works great in command lines for linux but not in windows. Apparently it has something to do with the single quotes as the error I get is protocol 'http not supported In other words its reading that single quote. Is there a simple way to make this formatable for windows? I tried replacing all the single quotes with double quotes but then nothing happens at all. Doctrine is already integrated into my auto loading system and im now at the stage where ill be creating the model system for my application Usually i would create a simple model like so: namespace Application\Models; class Users extends \Framework\Models\Database{} which would inherit all the default database model methods, But with Doctrine im still learning how it all works, as its not just a simple DBAL.
