  Hi, I was trying in Ruby on Rails how to find a prime number. I mean if I replace 100 by 100000 in my view, how can I see data on my view while my helper method is calculating ? Do I need to use ajax or rails provide a tool for that ? Thank you.

• Import a Collada model doesn't align to pixels

  Assume I have a model that is simply a cube. (It is more complicated than a cube, but for the purposes of this discussion, we will simplify.) So when I am in Sketchup, the cube is Xmm by Xmm by Xmm, where X is an integer. I then export the a Collada file and subsequently load that into threejs. Now if I look at the geometry bounding box, the values are floats, not integers. So now assume I am putting cubes next to each other with a small space in between say 1 pixel. Because screens can't draw half pixels, sometimes I see one pixel and sometimes I see two, which causes a lack of uniformity. I think I can resolve this satisfactorily if I can somehow get the imported model to have integer dimensions. I have full access to all parts of the model starting with Sketchup, so any point in the process is fair game. Is it possible? Thanks.

  I am load testing my webservice and get a System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException when I use 10 threads to communicate to it (without any sleep in between) - basically testing 10 conenctions at a time - through a windows application An error occurred while receiving the HTTP response to http://localhost/XXX/XXXService.asmx. This could be due to the service endpoint binding not using the HTTP protocol. This could also be due to an HTTP request context being aborted by the server (possibly due to the service shutting down). See server logs for more details.   Hello, I am after a very lightweight template engine that supports / can be embedded inside Android programs. I've looked at the MiniTemplator (I think that is how you spell it) and that looks great but it loads in only from file and I need to load templates from string and I am not fully confident in changing that code lol. Can anyone recommend a very lightweight (preferably no jars, single source files etc) that I can use ? • Best Practice For Referencing an External Module In a Java Project

  I have a Java project that expects external modules to be registered with it. These modules: Implement a particular interface in the main project Are packaged into a uni-jar (along with any dependencies) Contain some human-readable meta-information (like the module name). My main project needs to be able to load at runtime (e.g. using its own classloader) any of these external modules. My question is: what's the best way of registering these modules with the main project (I'd prefer to keep this vanilla Java, and not use any third-party frameworks/libraries for this isolated issue)? My current solution is to keep a single .properties file in the main project with key=name, value=classhuman-readable-name (or coordinate two .properties files in order to avoid the delimiter parsing). At runtime, the main project loads in the .properties file and uses any entries it finds to drive the classloader. This feels hokey to me. Is there a better way to this?

• Using Stored Procedures in SSIS

  The SSIS Data Flow components: the source task and the destination task are the easiest way to transfer data in SSIS. Some data transactions do not fit this model, they are procedural tasks modeled as stored procedures. In this article we show how you can call stored procedures available in RSSBus ADO.NET Providers from SSIS. In this article we will use the CreateJob and the CreateBatch stored procedures available in RSSBus ADO.NET Provider for Salesforce, but the same steps can be used to call a stored procedure in any of our data providers. Step 1: Open Visual Studio and create a new Integration Services Project. Step 2: Add a new Data Flow Task to the Control Flow window. Step 3: Open the Data Flow Task and add a Script Component to the data flow pane. A dialog box will pop-up allowing you to select the Script Component Type: pick the source type as we will be outputting columns from our stored procedure. Step 4: Double click the Script Component to open the editor. Step 5: In the "Inputs and Outputs" settings, enter all the columns you want to output to the data flow. Ensure the correct data type has been set for each output. You can check the data type by selecting the output and then changing the "DataType" property from the property editor. In our example, we'll add the column JobID of type String. Step 6: Select the "Script" option in the left-hand pane and click the "Edit Script" button. This will open a new Visual Studio window with some boiler plate code in it. Step 7: In the CreateOutputRows() function you can add code that executes the stored procedures included with the Salesforce Component. In this example we will be using the CreateJob and CreateBatch stored procedures.   Hi guys, I've got a Roo project where I've made a couple of entities, and when I load up the project in Eclipse it loads up fine, but if I i.e. make an instance MyEntity entity and then write entity. I don't get any of my properties (i.e. getMyField) in the autocompletion list. If I write entity.getMyField() it compiles fine, that is taken care of by the aspects. • GCC exports decorated function name only from dll

  Hi Guys, I have a dll, it exports a function... extern "C" int __stdcall MP_GetFactory( gmpi::IMpUnknown** returnInterface ) { } I compile this with Code::Blocks GCC compiler (V3.4.5). Problem: resulting dll exports decorated function name... MP_GetFactory@4 This fails to load, should be plain old... MP_GetFactory I've researched this for about 4 hours. I think --add-stdcall-alias is the option to fix this. My Code::Blocks log shows... mingw32-g++.exe -shared -Wl,--out-implib=bin\Debug\libGainGCC.a -Wl,--dll obj\Debug\se_sdk3\mp_sdk_audio.o obj\Debug\se_sdk3\mp_sdk_common.o obj\Debug\Gain\Gain.o obj\Debug\Gain\gain.res -o bin\Debug\GainGCC.sem --add-stdcall-alias -luser32 ..so I think that's the correct option in there? But no luck. Dependancy Walker show only the decorated name being exported. I got It to kinda work by using __cdecl instead of __stdcall, the name is then exported ok, but the function corrupts the stack when called (because the caller expected the other calling convention).

• Grails deploy on Tomcat6

  Hello, while trying to deploy a Grails application into tomcat6 I ran into some problems: I used the grails war command to build up a war, then copied it to var/lib/tomcat6/webapps and tried to restart the container. I had to change default Tomcat policy to skip security exceptions, since I couldn't access environment variable (like grails.env), then tried again but it gives me an exception related to instantiating something, but it's not clear where should I try to fix the error, according to tomcat6 logs the problem is: SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class org.codehaus.groovy.grails.web.context.GrailsC$ org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'pluginManager' defined in ServletContext$ at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) Caused by: org.codehaus.groovy.grails.exceptions.NewInstanceCreationException: Could not create a new instance of class [Hiberna$ ... 1 more Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.hibernate.cfg.Environment It seems like it's unable to load org.hibernate.cfg.Environment class. I checked the applicationContext.xml and it refers to grails.xml to search for plugins, in this last file I actually have HibernateGrailsPlugin. Where should I look to find if the plugin is present?

• Multiple .NET processes memory footprint

  I am developing an application suite that consists of several applications which user can run as needed (they can run all at the same time, or only several..). My concern is in physical memory footprint of each process, as shown in task manager. I am aware that Framework does memory management behind the curtains in terms that it devotes parts of memory for certain things that are not directly related to my application. The question. Does .NET Framework has some way of minimizing memory footprint of processes it runs when there are several processes running at the same time? (Noobish guess ahead) Like, if System.dll is already loaded by one process, does framework load it for each process, or it has some way of sharing it between processes? I am in no way striving to write as small (resource-wise) apps as possible (if I were, I probably wouldn't be using .NET Framework in the first place), but if there's something I can do something about over-using resources, I'd like to know about it.

• Which containers / graphics components to use in a simple Java Swing game?

  I'm creating a simple labyrinth game with Java + Swing. The game draws a randomized labyrinth on the screen, places a figure in the middle, and the player is then supposed to find the way out by moving the figure with arrow-keys. As for now, I'm using a plain background and drawing the walls of the labyrinth with Graphics.drawLine(). I have a custom picture of the figure in a .gif file, which I load as a BufferedImage object. However, I want the player to see only part of the labyrinth at a time, and the screen should follow the figure in the game, as the player moves around. I'm planning to do this by creating an Image object of the whole labyrinth when it is created, and then "cutting" a square around the current position of the figure and displaying this with Graphics.drawImage(). I'm new with Swing though, and I can't figure out how to draw the figure at different positions "above" the labyrinth without redrawing the whole thing. Which container/component should I use for the labyrinth and then for the figure to achieve this?

  My Flex application uses a client-side pimento EntityManager which fetches quite a few objects and associations. It does this by forcing eager fetching of particular association ends in the form of fetch plans. I would like to update the client whenever a change has been made to an entity existing in the EntityManager's cache. Is it possible to update the state of the changed entity ONLY, including updating which entities are associated, without resetting the state of these associated entities? I have setup an EntityListener with a JPA post-update method that notifies clients when a persisted entity has been updated. I want this to trigger a refresh for the modified client-side entity, but calling EntityManager.refresh(entity) resets all lazy associations to proxies. Initializing these proxies resets the associated entities, even if they were loaded previously. I'm looking for an efficient way to keep the client's state in synch with the server's state, at least with respect to the entities that have already been retrieved by the initial load.

  I have been trying for some time to serve & cache static files for my rails app using nginx. the rails app server runs mongrel_cluster and is deployed on a different host than that of nginx. following many of the available discussions I tried the following server { listen 80; server_name www.myappserver.com; ssl on; root /var/apps/myapp/current/public; location ~ ^/(images|javascripts|stylesheets)/ { root /var/apps/myapp/current; expires 10y; } location / { proxy_pass http://myapp_upstream; } } But nginx fails to find the images and to load the css and js files. Can anyone help me out here? My aim is to configure nginx in such a way that it caches the static files till expiry. Please suggest me some way to achieve this or am I missing any point here?

• Trying to debug a plugin in tuxguitar, need help building the project in Eclipse.

  I am not too familiar with java / eclipse but I am trying to debug a plugin in TuxGuitar. The plugin is the gtp plugin which allows reading of guitar pro files. I have imported the main project, TuxGuitar, and the TuxGuitar-gtp plugin. I have all build dependencies configured and the project builds. However, when I debug the app, the plugin is not available. The documentation says plugins are loaded from the share/plugins folder and they are jar files. I tried exporting the gtp plugin as a jar into the share/plugins folder, but it still does not load when I debug. Is there some sort of configuration I need to do in Eclipse? Thanks!

  Hello All, I have a desktop application that has a control with a WebBrowser control inside. Everything works fine except with Siebel CMR popups. When it opens a new popup , Siebel tries to load an applet in the popup window but it doesn't work , it works fine in the main browser. This works perfectly with IE also. It seems to be related to some security setting but i am quite lost. Does anyone know if there is any way to modify or check the security when a new popup is opened? Thanks in advance! Fede

  What is a best practice for storing user messages in a configuration file and then retrieving them for certain events throughout an application? I was thinking of having 1 single configuration file with entries such as REQUIRED_FIELD = {0} is a required field INVALID_FORMAT = The format for {0} is {1} etc. and then calling them from a class that would be something like this public class UIMessages { public static final String REQUIRED_FIELD = "REQUIRED_FIELD"; public static final String INVALID_FORMAT = "INVALID_FORMAT"; static { // load configuration file into a "Properties" object } public static String getMessage(String messageKey) { // return properties.getProperty(messageKey); } } Is this the right way to approach this problem or is there some de-facto standard already in place?

• Devision in c# not going the way i expect

  Im trying to write something to get my images to show correctly. I have 2 numbers "breedtePlaatje" and "hoogtePlaatje". When i load those 2 vars with the values i get back "800" and "500" i expect "verH" to be (500 / 800) = 0,625. Tho the value of verH = 0.. • NSEntityDescription entityForName returning nil

  Hi, I did some changes to my model (but I don't want migration yet, so I just remove the application, built clean etc.) so my application works in the simulator. However, when I run it on the iPhone, I get the following error: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'executeFetchRequest:error: A fetch request must have an entity.' I set the entity like this: NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Document" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; My managedObjectContext is not nil. But I suspect that it doesn't load the object model correctly or something similar because If I display the entities in the model, the list is empty. How can I make sure the model is loaded? Thanks,

• Why would an ASP.NET site become veeeeeery slow after the network connection dropped?

  I have an ASP.NET 3.5 site published in IIS 7.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit. The pages are accessed over SSL One of our testers has determined that if, during a postback, he blocks network access on his PC, and then after a few seconds reconnects, our site becomes excruciatingly slow. Like 30 seconds per page load. If he hits the refresh button in his browser it stays slow. If he closes the tab, then re-opens it, it becomes fast again. This behavior happens with both IE 8 and the latest firefox. There are no event log entries on the server when this happens My question: - Has anyone seen this same behavior? - Does anyone have a theory as to what causes it?

Shouldn't it need to parse HTML source FIRST Before it parses CSS file (I assume which triggers the 'Recalculate Style') and Java Script file (I assume which triggers the 'Function Call')
