  I am using the following Linq query from p in Product.Include("ProductDetails.Colors") where p.ProductID.Equals(18) select p; And then using the result of this query to bind the GridView. The productDetails are bind to the grid fine, but the Colors are not bind. To bind colors i am using <%# Eval("Colors.CategoryName") %. Error is " Field or property with the name 'Colors.CategoryName' was not found on the selected data source." • MP4 plays on Safari 4 (desktop) but not on Safari Mobile (iphone)

  I'm encoding the video with ffmpeg and displaying it using the HTML 5 video tag. It works fine on Firefox (i'm also providing a ogg version) and Safari 4. However, when I try to open it on the iphone I get a "Cannot Play Movie" error. Here is the ffmpeg command I'm using: ffmpeg -y -i movie.mov -acodec libfaac -ar 44100 -ab 96k -vcodec libx264 -vpre hq -level 41 -crf 20 -bufsize 20000k -maxrate 1500k -g 250 -s 320X200 -coder 1 -flags +loop -cmp +chroma -partitions +parti4x4+partp8x8+partb8x8 -flags2 +dct8x8+bpyramid -me_method umh -subq 7 -me_range 16 -keyint_min 25 -sc_threshold 40 -i_qfactor 0.71 -rc_eq 'blurCplx^(1-qComp)' -bf 16 -b_strategy 1 -bidir_refine 1 -refs 6 -deblockalpha 0 -deblockbeta 0 movie.mp4 I reduced the maxrate to 1500 because I read that if the bit rate is too high the iphone won't play the video, but still didn't work.   Hi, I have multiple CSV files which I need to parse in a loop to gather information. The problem is that while they are the same format, some are delimited by '\t' and others by ','. After this, I want to remove the double-quote from around the string. Can python split via multiple possible delimiters? At the minute, I can split the line with one by using: f = open(filename, "r") fields = f.readlines() for fs in fields: sf = fs.split('\t') tf = [fi.strip ('"') for fi in sf] Any suggestions are welcome.

• Silverlight: DataContractSerializer cannot handle read only collection properties

  Hey Stackoverflowers :) For our Silverlight Project (SL4) I'm using a Model which might contain Lists (IList<AnotherModel>). According to good practice and rule CA2227:CollectionPropertiesShouldBeReadOnly the IList properties don't have a public setter. We serialize the Model using the DataContractSerializer which is working. But when I try to deserialize, a SecurityException is thrown by DataContractSerializer's ReadObject(Stream) Method, complaining that the target property (pointing to the IList property) cannot be set due to a missing public setter. Since the DataContractSerializer is sealed and neither extendable nor flexible so I currently see no chance to add some kind of additional rules which allow to deserialize the ILists using a foreach-loop on Add() method or some other method of transferring the collection items. I've also tried to dig into DataContractSerializer source (using Reflector) to create a little fork but it looks like i'd have to dig very deep and replicating whole serialization classes doesn't seem to be a viable solution. Do you see another chance to serialize a List with no public setter using the DataContractSerializer? Thank you very much in advance for your ideas! Thomas

  Hi, I am writing a Autohotkey script that need to 'check' and 'uncheck' checkboxes defined inside a listViewControl. I think the way to do it is using a SendMessage to the listview (or maybe to the listview item itself?) using the LVM_SETITEMSTATE parameter but i don't know the exact format...anyone have any idea? SendMessage, LVM_SETITEMSTATE, 1000, SysListView321 i think that 1000 means that the checkbox will be checked and 2000 means that he will be unchecked. do i need to do a loop for each ListViewItem? I had also tried to use the LV_Modify(0, "+Checked") But it doesnt seems to work also. To emphasize the problem, I am not creating my own List View, i'm trying to manipulate the state of an exisiting application ListView.... (i'm running an installer and using the AutoHotKey script i press the next buttons on each of the screens, but in this screen i need to first select all the components and only then move to the next screen) Any AutoHotKey Experts in here?

  This feels like a completely basic question, but, for the life of me, I can't seem to work out an elegant solution. Basically, I am doing a Linq Query creating a new object from the query. In the new object, I want to generate a auto-incremented number to allow me to keep a selection order for later use (named Iter in my example). Here is my current solution that does what I am needing: Dim query2 = From x As DictionaryEntry In MasterCalendarInstance _ Order By x.Key _ Select New With {.CalendarId = x.Key, .Iter = 0} For i = 0 To query2.Count - 1 query2(i).Iter = i Next Is there a way to do this within the context of the linq query (so that I don't have to loop the collection after the query)?   Hi, I'm trying to generate some charts using django-googlecharts. This works fine for rather static data but in one case I would like to render a different number of lines, based on a variable. I tried this: {% chart %} {% for line in line_data %} {% chart-data line %} {% endfor %} {% chart-size "390x200" %} {% chart-type "line" %} {% chart-labels days %} {% endchart %} Line data is a list containing lists. The template code fails with "Caught an exception while rendering: max() arg is an empty sequence". I guess the problem is that I try to loop over templatetags. What approach could be used here? Or am I completely missing something? Is this doable using inclusion tags? Thanks for your help.

• How to avoid circular relationship in SQL-Server?

  I am creating a self-related table: Table Item columns: ItemId int - PK; Amount money - not null; Price money - a computed column using a UDF that retrieves value according to the items ancestors' Amount. ParentItemId int - nullable, reference to another ItemId in this table. I need to avoid a loop, meaning, a sibling cannot become an ancestor of his ancestors, meaning, if ItemId=2 ParentItemId = 1, then ItemId 1 ParentItemId = 2 shouldn't be allowed. I don't know what should be the best practice in this situation. I think I should add a CK that gets a Scalar value from a UDF or whatever else. EDIT: Another option is to create an INSTEAD OF trigger and put in 1 transaction the update of the ParentItemId field and selecting the Price field from the @@RowIdentity, if it fails cancel transaction, but I would prefer a UDF validating. Any ideas are sincerely welcomed.

  Ok, so I did find some questions that were almost similar but they actually confused me even more about pointers. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2715198/c-pointer-objects-vs-non-pointer-objects-closed In the link above, they say that if you declare a pointer it is actually saved on the heap and not on the stack, regardless of where it was declared at. Is this true ?? Or am I misunderstanding ??? I thought that regardless of a pointer or non pointer, if its a global variable, it lives as long as the application. If its a local variable or declared within a loop or function, its life is only as long as the code within it.

  When c-auto-newline is set to non-nil, it re-indents the current line and inserts a carriage return and then indents the new line. However. I'm using 1TBS indent-style, which means if/else statements are made like this: if (n == 1) { exit(EXIT_SUCCESS); } else { perror("n"); } Also, I write do/while write loops like this: do { printf("%d\n", n++); } while (n < 64); As such, while I do want a newline automatically inserted after every opening brace and semicolon, I don't want newlines to be automatically inserted after an if statement or do loop is concluded with a closing brace. How can I have GNU Emacs (23.2.1, *nix) selectively insert newlines like that? Along the same lines, can I have Emacs insert an opening brace, a newline, and a closing brace on another newline, while putting the cursor in the middle of the two braces after closing parentheses following an if statement, function declaration, and the like?

  Hi, If you are making a LinQ to entities expression for ClassA where A has a relation to ClassB like this: var temp = from p in myEntities.ClassA.Include("ClassB") where ... select p; You will get a set of ClassA:s with the reference to ClassB loaded. The thing in my case is that I dont really need to load ALL the ClassB-references, just a few of them. But I dont want to loop through the list of ClassA:s and load them individually, i want my database operations to be fewer and bigger instead of reading small chunks here and there. Is it possible to put some kind of restrictions on which references to include or do you have to accept this all or nothing style?

  I am trying to loop through a bitmap and determine if each pixel is lighter or darker than gray using getPixel(). Problem is, I am not sure how to tell whether the value returned by getPixel() is darker or lighter than gray. Neutral gray is about 0x808080 or R:127, G:127, B:127.   When using in-app audio in the iPhone SDK, it is possible to allow users to select a list from their ipod library and create an in-app local playlist. If I want to persist this choice, it is easy to serialize the data and write to file, then recover. Just vanilla like this, however, leads me to think there is going to be something wrong. For example, what if the user syncs and removes sounds? I can loop across them all and query the iPod DB at setup time, but with lists that could be 50,000 long, this could take some time. How are other people doing this and what are some gotchas that I haven't though about?

So, far, I can pull the sub-pages the following way: <?php $children = wp_list_pages('title_li&child_of='.$post->ID.'depth=1&echo=0'); if ($children) { ?> <ul> <?php echo $children; ?> </ul> <?php } ?> However, is there a way to loop through $children so I can pull each link by it's tag? i.e. using has_tag('tv'), has_tag('web') Between the wordpress conditional tags and php, I am not sure how to write this.

• memory not freed in matlab?

  I am running a script that animates a plot (simulation of a water flow). After a while, I kill the loop by doing ctrl-c. After doing this several times I get the error: ??? Error: Out of memory. And after I start receiving that error, every call to my script will generate it. Now, it happens before anything inside the function that I am calling is executed, i.e even if I add the line a=1 as the first line of the function I am calling, I still get the error and no printout, so the code inside the function doesn't even get executed. What could be causing this?

• SharePoint Workflow: how to update the item without triggering the workflow again

  I have a SharePoint workflow which is running whenever the item changes. The workflow communicates with an external REST service. If the service returns a string, I want to update one of the field values with that string. Unfortunately, this update will trigger another instance of the workflow for this item once the current workflow terminates. I end up with an infinite loop! How I can prevent this from happening? SPListItem has Update(), UpdateOverwriteVersion(), and SystemUpdate() methods but none of them seem to prevent subsequent workflows from being triggered. I could inspect the last modified timestamp of the item and terminate the workflow if the last update happened within a certain timespan, but I am looking for a more robust solution.

  IBM has (had) a free learn-Java program called RoboCode, in which custom robots could be written that would then do battle in a 2D space. I would like to write the environment that supports such robots, but don't know what pattern or design to use. Each robot is a thread. Each thread is given a certain (indeterminate) amount of run-time by the JRE. A robot world engine would start by building a list of the players/robots, then enter a loop that allows each player in turn to do whatever it likes: move forward, turn left, fire toward the northwest corner, whatever. Each robot is also informed of events of interest: an enemy or several enemies are within range, it has been hit by a bullet, etc. The combination of handling threads that are also event listeners (are they also producers?) confuses me; it seems that there's more to the game engine. Even some general ideas would help. TIA.

The problem I discovered in a Unit test (albeit an unlikely event), that the following line could be null: detail.ExpenditureAmounts.FirstOrDefault( amount => amount.isCurrent && !amount.requiresAudit) My original query was a nested loop, in where I would be making multiple trips to the database, something I don't want to repeat. I've looked in to what seemed like some similar questions here, but the solution didn't seem to fit. Any ideas?

  I'm getting data where the database is hidden behind a WCF service. Is it possible to use Entity Framework in a scenario where I have custom objects coming from a web service? (No access to the external database, and no current plans for insert/update/delete logic) Starting with an empty EF model and adding an entity I get this error on compile: No mapping specified for instances of the EntitySet and AssociationSet in the EntityContainer .. Is it possible to make an entity this way, and fill it with data received from an object? (In this case a WCF, but could also be a predefined model class/xml data) If the web service retured a Customer object I could do something like this with a dataset: Make an unbound table and do a loop through the customer properties adding them to a temp row, add it with tbl_Customer.Addtbl_CustomerRow(customerRow) to get my view filled. thanks, nakori
