• Symfony Jobeet Tutorial Day 3, databases.yml error

  Hi all, I'm new to Symfony and I'm going through the Jobeet tutorial v1.4 for Doctrine. I am currently stuck on Day 3. I've followed all the instructions on configuring the database and building models and modules; however, when I try to access "http://localhost:8080/frontend_dev.php" I receive the following error: 'Configuration "config/databases.yml" does not exist or is unreadable.' My config/databases.yml file looks like this: all: doctrine: class: sfDoctrineDatabase param: dsn: 'mysql:host=localhost;dbname=jobeet' username: root password: mysecret Creating the tables and loading the fixtures seem to work fine after checking the database with phpmyadmin. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

  Hello! I'm looking for a basic code samples of how to upload files to server with HTTP POST method on Qt. My task: I have simple Qt program and I need to select any image file from the local host and upload it to the server. The selection part and GUI is simple and I have already done it, but with POST uploading I'm confused. In addition I have to say, that there is no authorization to upload file. If someone already looking this topic? PS: the reason why I'm asking and not coding my self is time, I need to get this method quick. • Keycodes of function keys with F-lock off?

  Many recent keyboard from Microsoft and Logitech have a so-called F-Lock key, which toggles the function keys F1 to F12 between their traditional keycodes and new meanings that are printed onto the keys: F1=Help F2=Undo F3=Redo F4=Open ... . (See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-Lock.) This means that long-established shortcuts such as Alt+F4 no longer work if the F-lock is off, and googling shows that quite a few people are unhappy about this. So I'm wondering, what virtual key (VK) codes do the function keys send when F-lock is off? VK_F13 to VK_F24 perhaps? Or do they not trigger standard keyboard events at all? (I haven't got such a keyboard to try and find out myself, and didn't manage to dig up anything on MSDN about this.)

The problem appears when the refresh happens after the transfer takes place. I'm getting a 404 Not Found error and the URL changes for http://localhost/305. Notice that 5 * 60 + 5 = 305. Do you know why is this happening? got a solution? PD: I use transfer because I need to access some properties of regularpage.aspx on otherpage.aspx, maybe you could provide another solution for this too.

• Unable to send email on production server with ASP.NET MVC

  I have a simple ASP.NET MVC application with a contact page. In my development machine (local) I can send successfully emails (I specify host and credentials), but on the production server this doesn't work and I get this error: System.Net.Mail.SmtpFailedRecipientException: Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local at System.Net.Mail.SmtpTransport.SendMail... The server is in my LAN (the mail server too). I tried with multiple accounts but I have errors every time. Credentials for the account are provided at runtime with smtp.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("username", "password"); Any idea? I get the error when i'm trying to open a database in PocketPC emulator or from the program with connection's Open() method(C#)..Here it is: Description: Internal error: SQL Server Compact made an unsupported request to the host operating system. Can someone explain what can cause this error to appear. The database and application are on Storage Card(shared folder from PC, on which Everyone has read/write permissions)Thank you. • LNK1106 with big binary resource

  I have a rather huge .dat-file (896MB) included as a BIN resource in my project. Now I get a LNK1106 link error ("fatal error LNK1106: invalid file or disk full: cannot seek to 0x382A3920".) I use Visual Studio 2005 under Windows XP, and have tried on a 4GB RAM machine with high Virtual Memory settings and lots of disk space. I have tried a number of different optimization flags, but to no avail. Does anyone have a clue? EDIT: I have narrowed it down to a specific size of the compiled resource. If the .res file is 544078588 bytes (about 518.9MB) or larger, the error occurs. If it is smaller it works just fine. Still no solution, though...

• struct method linking

  I'm updating some old code that has several POD structs that were getting zero'd out by memset (don't blame me...I didn't write this part). Part of the update changed some of them to classes that use private internal pointers that are now getting wiped out by the memset. So I added a [non-virtual] reset() method to the various structs and refactored the code to call that instead. One particular struct developed an "undefined reference to `blah::reset()'" error. Changing it from a struct to a class fixed the error. Calling nm on the .o file h, the mangled function names for that method look the same (whether it's a class or a struct). I'm using g++ 4.4.1, on Ubuntu. I hate the thought that this might be a compiler/linker bug, but I'm not sure what else it could be. Am I missing some fundamental difference between structs and classes? I thought the only meaningful ones were the public/private defaults and the way everyone thinks about them.

  I am running TeamCity build 5.1.1 on a virtual machine that also hosts our SVN environment. A team I support has recently made the move from Visual Studio 2008/Silverlight 3.0 to Visual Studio 2010/Silverlight 4.0 and when investigating how to do continuous integration with Visual Studio 2010 solutions/projects, it is not as cut and dried as it appeared to be in Visual Studio 2008. Previously I was using Web Deployment Projects and targeting different Release Configurations in TeamCity, which would use the Web Deployment Project to package/deploy the code to our various environments. However when checking out the new Publish ability in Visual Studio 2010 I cannot find a way to specify which location to deploy to. Does everything need to be done in MSBuild now (in the solution file or maybe the Web project file?). If anyone has any examples of how they've done Continuous Integration using TeamCity and Visual Studio 2010, it would be greatly appreciated as I am coming up blank at the moment.

• EC2 instance suddenly refusing SSH connections and won't respond to ping

  My instance was running fine and this morning I was able to access a Ruby on Rails app hosted on it. An hour later I suddenly wasn't able to access my site, my SSH connection attempts were refused and the server wasn't even responding to ping. • Java applet - access denied to file on same web server

  I've written a simple Java applet to generate a technical image based upon some data in a CSV file. I'm passing in the CSV file as a parameter to the applet: <applet code = "assaymap.AssayMapApplet" archive = "http://localhost/applet_test/AssayMap.jar" height="600px" width="800px"> <param name="csvFile" value="http://localhost/applet_test/test.csv"> </applet> As far as I understood applet security restrictions, an applet should be able to read data from the host they're on. These applets here http://www.jalview.org/examples/applets.html are using the same approach of passing in a text data file as a parameter. So I'm not sure why my own applet isn't working. The error message I get thrown is: Error with processing the CSV data. java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission http:\localhost\applet_test\test.csv read)

• Page containing Microsoft Chart Control returns Service Unavailable

  I have a frustrating problem with an asp.net mvc view containing the Microsoft Chart control. When I request the view containing the control I get the following error. Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. When I run the project under the visual studio 2008 dev server it works fine. When I deploy the project to the staging server I get the error. To make this even more frustrating when I deploy to a different site on the same server under a virtual directory it works. I also get no error messages in the event log or elmah when this happens. Has anyone else encountered this? What did you do to resolve it?

• Alternative to DITA Open Toolkit

  I'm working on a web app that will need to process DITA documents from persistent storage (likely a JCR). The DITA Open Toolkit is the only DITA implementation I'm aware of, but it requires all of your documents to exist on the filesystem. Ideally, I'd like something that works like the DITA OT, but allows you to provide a resolver (much like an XSLT URIResolver) to pull referenced content from other sources. If people have other ideas, such as using a virtual filesystem to trick the DITA OT into working, I'd love to hear those too. Thanks!

• Custom ASP.NET MVC cache controllers in a shared hosting environment?

  I'm using custom controllers that cache static resources (CSS, JS, etc.) and images. I'm currently working with a hosting provider that has set me up under a full trust profile. Despite being in full trust, my controllers fail because the caching strategy relies on the File class to directly open a resource file prior to treatment and storage in memory. Is this something that would likely occur in all full trust shared hosting environments or is this specific to my host? The static files live within my application's structure and not in an arbitrary server path. It seems to me that custom caching would require code to access the file directly, and am hoping someone else has dealt with this issue.

  I have users uploading DOCX files which I make available for download. The issues we have been experiencing is the unknown mime types of DOCX files which causes IE to open these docs as Zip files. It is running on a Windows/IIS server. Because this is a shared host, I cannot change any server settings. I was thinking that I could just write some code that would handle DOCX files, perhaps custom output: if (extension=docx) { header("Content-Disposition: attachment; etc) header('Content-Type: application/application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document'); Output the file contents etc } Would this be a viable solution?? If so, can someone help fill in the gaps? (PS I know the above syntax is not correct, just a quick example)

The code sets the GNOME terminal title to user@somehost (obviously with the real user name and host name). However some hosts have tcsh as login shell, so I need to translate the code into tcsh and add it to the .tcshrc . I considered to somehow source another file with the bash code from inside the .tcshrc file, but I couldn't make it work.

  One of the things I like about Microsoft's RDC Client is that the resolution of the experience is set by the client and not, say, a physical monitor connected to the host, as is the case with VNC; the latter being the protocol used by Mac. This means that even though I'm connecting to a notebook with a 1280x800 physical resolution, via RDC I can run it at 2560x1600 on my 30" monitor. However, that only seems to work for RDC. Does anyone know of something I can run on the Mac that will allow me to remotely control it at a different resolution than what is physically set? TIA, Mark

  Hi all, Bit of a strange question, but how do ClickOnce deployments work from a web site? I seem to be having some problems with this. Basically, the setup file will download when you click the "install" button, but then some files are missing. Do you need to be on a Microsoft server to run ClickOnce deployments? I usually do deployments over a local server with UNC, and as this is the first time I've done one online I'm struggling a bit.   Hi - Receiving recommendations for commercial TCP/IP stack implementation based on FreeBSD or NetBSD. Requirements are similar to a typical desktop PC running a browser, email and streaming voice/video. Which is to say a rich network functionality for a end-host type of device with mature implementation and reasonable performance. BSD derived network stacks are deployed in wide variety of situations for years and hence have mature implementation. It's supposed to run on a proprietary RTOS. Most vendors I found don't advertise if their stack is based on BSD. Any recommendations? -- Vineet

• How to get a project's directory from within T4?

  I've been messing around with T4 support in Mono and noticed a very cumbersome thing. The current directory when running T4 templates is the home directory. I need to be able to read a few files from the current project's directory but I'm at a loss for how to. <#@ template language="C#v3.5" #> <#@ output extension="txt" #> <#=System.IO.Directory.GetCurrentDirectory() #> yields /home/earlz where I want it to yield something like /home/earlz/MyProject How do I overcome this problem? Also, I tried the hostspecific and Host.ResolvePath, but I got a NotImplementedException

• Generic Text Only printer driver mangles control codes

  If an escape character (or most other characters < 0x20) is sent to the generic / text only printer it gets printed as a period. Using the code in the WinDDK is it possible to 'correct' this behaviour so that it passes it through unmodified? The general scenario for this is that some application ('user app') outputs a document to a windows printer. My application requires this data in plain text form and so what I do is run a generic / text only printer that talks to a virtual com port. This generally works fine except where the 'user app' outputs binary data to the print queue without using the correct mechanism (which seems to work fine on some printer drivers, such as the Epson POS ones, but not the generic / text only one). I've tried changing the print processor selection without success and also tried looking at the gtt files to see if I could readily map in these characters as though they were printable, but the minidriver tool won't let me do that. Any suggestions?
