  • ipad simulator - sandbox area

    Every iPhone/iPad application has its sandbox area, where I can store files. When I use the simulator this area will be somewhere in the hard disk. Is it possible to see this directory and its contents for a given application? I am debugging an iPad app and it will be a lot easier if I can see the sandbox area contents in real time, as the app runs and creates files there. Where do I find it? thanks for any help.

    I am testing an application on iPad Simulator and I need it to start my app in the position the simulator is but every time I run the app, the simulator rotates the simulator to portrait. Is there a way to stop this behavior? thanks.

    I've downloaded the Reachability API and I'd like to know if there is a simpler version anywhere, or if someone can point out the bare-bones essential part of it, so that I don't need to add tons of files to my project. I don't need the whole API, I just need to check for any sort of connectivity, a particular host will be assumed available after that.

  • Initializing Detail View from nib with parameters passed from Root View

    I'm have a map view with a number of annotations on it... once the callout is clicked, i need to pass several parameters to the DetailViewController, so ive been trying to do this through the constructor. I've debugged a bit and discovered that the arguments are being passed properly and are being received as expected within the constructor, but for some reason whenever I try to change the values of the IBOutlets I've positioned in the nib, it never has an effect. Here's what im passing (btw, im getting a "No initWithNibName : bundle : header' method found" warning at this line): DetailViewController *dvc = [[DetailViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"DetailViewController" bundle:nil header:headerText]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:dvc animated:YES]; Now heres my constructor: - (id)initWithNibName:(NSString *)nibNameOrNil bundle:(NSBundle *)nibBundleOrNil header:(UILabel*)headerLabel { if ((self = [super initWithNibName:nibNameOrNil bundle:nibBundleOrNil])) { self.headerTextView = headerLabel; NSLog(@"header:%@", headerLabel.text); } return self; } Once again, the problem is that headerLabel.text is printed properly in the console, but the line self.headerTextView = headerLabel; doesnt seem to be doing what I want it to do.     Hi, I have a xml document which has only one element in the document, which is <error>error string<error> But when i try to parse it, it says this document has no element at all. In other words when i try to access the rootElement it says "null" CXMLDocument *rssParser = [[[CXMLDocument alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:url options:0 error:nil] autorelease]; NSLog(@"Root: %@",[[rssParser rootElement] name]); Please tell me what is wroing with this.   • Storing unique ID in UITableViewCell

    I have a table where there will often be two cells with the same title. I'm zooming in on a map whenever a cell in the table is clicked, so using the title as a unique identifier is out of the question. I already have a unique identifier, but I need to find a way to store it in a UITableViewCell object. I have been considering two options, both of which are poor, IMO. 1) store the unique ID as the text inside the text of the detailTextLabel property. 2) build a custom UITableViewCell class. I'm new to objective C, and I would essentially like to know if theres a third option that isnt as inefficient as #1, but not as involved as #2. Thanks

  • insane transformations of a view

    I have this view and I do some rotation transformation to it using something like myView.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(degreesToRadian(90)); //The view was originally at angle 0. at some other point of my code, I would like to scale the view animating it, so I do [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.0]; myViews.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeScale(2.0f, 2.0f); [UIView commitAnimations]; but when I do that the animation is performed as the view is at 0 degrees, ignoring the previous transformation. It simply assumes as the view is yet at zero degrees, so, this animation scales the view and rotates it back to 0 degrees (!!!!?????) Is this some bug or am I missing something? thanks.

  • iPhone - Switch Tab from UIWebView

    I have a webview and I want to manually switch to another tab during a specific event. The event is arbitray, but I can't figure out hwo to switch teh tab. On my other views, I have the following code: self.tabBarController.selectedViewController = [self.tabBarController.viewControllers objectAtIndex:2]; However, this does not work in my custom UIWebView class. Is there a simple solution to this? Thanks

  • UIView animation

    I have a UIView(first view) on top of which I would like to display another UIView(second view). I display the second view using animation which causes the second view to be displayed for about 3/4 of the iPhone screen. The first view is visible underneath the animated second view. I would like to make changes to the first view as the second view is displayed. Any ideas on how I can achieve this. Right now, the animation completes, the second view is displayed and then I can change the first view. I would like to change the layout of the first screen as the second screen is being displayed. Any help is much appreciated.

  • UIView added with incorrect orientation

    So I have been working on a problem with UIView on the iPad. Essentially I have a splitview as the root view and I want to overlay my custom image view over top of the splitview (This is because the splitview must be the root view). The problem that I have, is when I call addSubview on my splitview the subview gets displayed in its default orientation, with no regard to the iPad's current orientation. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong or flag I am not setting? Thanks!
