    Here is a simple code that shows what I think is a bug when dealing with double numbers... double wtf = 36.76662445068359375000; id xxx = [NSDecimalNumber numberWithDouble: wtf]; NSString *myBug = [xxx stringValue]; NSLog(@"%.20f", wtf); NSLog(@"%@", myBug); NSLog(@"-------\n"); the terminal will show two different numbers 36.76662445068359375000 and 36.76662445068359168 Is this a bug or am I missing something? if the second number is being rounded, it is a very strange rounding btw...

  • How to sort numbers in array from low to high

    Hello all, I am trying to sort an array of prices from low to high. I have it working but not the way I want it to. Long story short, the sorter is putting numbers in order like this: 100 10900 200 290 instead of sorting like this 100 200 290 10900 here is my code I am doing this with. -(void)filterPriceLowHigh { NSSortDescriptor *sortDescriptor; sortDescriptor = [[[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"ListPrice" ascending:YES] autorelease]; NSArray *sortDescriptors = [NSArray arrayWithObject:sortDescriptor]; NSArray *sortedArray; sortedArray = [app.vehiclesArrayToDisplay sortedArrayUsingDescriptors:sortDescriptors]; [app.vehiclesArrayToDisplay removeAllObjects]; [app.vehiclesArrayToDisplay addObjectsFromArray:sortedArray]; } Could someone tell me what I need to do here? thanks in advance.

    Hello everyone, What I'm looking to do is to sorta a Java List or Map in the order the items are in a XML File. For Example I have a list of function names as so: functionOne functionThree functionTwo The XML File looks like this: <xml> <function>functionOne</function> <function>functionTwo</function> <function>functionThree</function> </xml> So I would like to sort the list so the function names are as so: functionOne functionTwo functionThree Now Im trying to do this for Variables as well, so there are around 500+ unique 'items'. Does anyone have any idea how I can go about doing this? Now for the file that determines that sort order doesn't have to be XML it just what I use the most, it can be anything that can get the job done. Thanks in advance for your time.

I don't know why the gameLoop method need to call the NSTimer again? in the applicationDidFinishLaunching, it set the NSTimer to do, why don't let it do every 0.033s, why add the same NSTimer code in the gameLoop method? thz.

The wikipedia link above is an overview of the concept. The short form explanation is that a co-op is a worker-owned business. Also there is the notion that every worker owns shares in the business. I am interested in knowing whether an example of a "programmer's/IT co-op" even exists. Note: I am not talking about nor asking about a government-funded incubator nor any other socialized, state supported group. I also don't mean "co-working", which is renting an office with other self employed people doing their own thing. I mean a going, profitable IT business operating in a competitive environment that is worker-owned and run.

    I'm my app I have an NSMutableArray, and each entry has an NSMutableDictionary with several Key-Value pairs. One of these pairs contains the date of the entry. For one of the functions of my app I need to determine which entries are exactly 1 week apart from each other (i.e from Sunday to Saturday) and sum the data from one of the Key-Value pairs for each day of that week. How should I go about doing this?

Everything I can find on the web dealing with "tables iPhone" gives me information on UITableView, which only lets you show a list of items to the user - not an actual table in the HTML sense.     I am really interested to hear any ideas or working practices that can be adopted to encourage our team of developers to write more code. A little background here is involves a team of varying disciplines, experience and qualities and the nature of the work has a large focus on bug fixes and business logic / data validation over writing lots of new greenfield code or even refactoring. We are attempting to move to a more Agile philosophy and really what would be great is to hear any ideas that can be sold to the team and / or the business with the aim of: Writing more new code to improve experience, abilities and increase exposure to newer and emerging patterns and practices. Energizing the effort of the team and inspire. Encouraging wider input of new ideas, patterns and practices from the team as a whole.
