  How can I do this with the JS replace() method: Make \n\n change to <p>$1</p> Change single \n to <br> Then back again. I think I have this part, see the JS at the bottom. Example HTML: <p>Hello</p><p>Wor<br>ld</p> The <textarea> would look like: Hello Wor ld So, how can I achieve this? It's an AJAX form where when you click on this div it changes to a <textarea> and back, and fourth, etc. So, I need to it to go from <p>s and <br>s to \n\n and \n. For the going to <textarea> from HTML I have: $(this).html().replace(/\s?<\/?(p|br\s?\/?)>\s?/g,"\n")

• When Does the File Download Dialog Open? - HTML, Javascript

  Hello, I have a html page, and when I click a file link on the page, the file download dialog pops up, and this file dialog locks the page. I mean without selecting one of the choices(Open, Save, Cancel) I can't do anything on the page (which is normal). What I need is if javascript can check whether the page is locked or not. (or whether the file dialog is popped?) p.s. don't say "put an onclick event to the link", because the server may respond very slowly (like 30 seconds after clicking)

• CKeditor 3.0 - How to know which toolbar button is clicked

  Hi, I want to update few variables when any of the toolbar button (like bold, italic etc) is clicked. I'm unable to trap 'click' event on any of these buttons. Could somebody give me an example when clicking on 'bold' button would also pop up an alert box? How can I trap 'paste' event? I've googled a lot and searched ckeditor forum but couldn't find any solution. Any pointer would be really helpful. Thanks.

• ASP.NET TextBox verses input type="text" behavior

  I notice with ASP.NET if the server side control TextBox is used with out autopostback it will not submit (or postback) the form when typed text ends with enter, which is different from the behavior for plain old HTML pages. Fine, I can set autopostback to get the behavior I want after the enter key. However, autopostback will also cause submit (or postback) when the typed text does not end with enter but focus has changed (i.e. with tab or mouse click), which again is different from plain old HTML pages. How can I get an ASP.NET page to behave the same as a plain old HTML page with respect to text input regardless of whether enter key or change of focus occurs?

• jQuery.keypad Performance Issues

  I am working on a Kiosk Touch Screen application and using the JQuery.keypad plugin and noticing some major performance issues. If you click a number of buttons in rapid succession the CPU gets pegged, the button clicks don't keep up with the clicking and some button presses even get lost. On my dev machine this isn't as noticeable, but on the Kiosk itself with 1 gig of ram it's painful. Trying the demo keypad at http://keith-wood.name/keypad.html#inline the one with multiple targets (which is the case with mine) has the exact same issues. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we might be able to improve this? The Kiosk runs in Firefox only so something specific to that would work. I'm using v1.2.1 of jquery.keypad and just upgraded to v1.4.2 of jquery.

• Small gaps in section headers with custom headers - iPhone / Objective-C

  Hi there! Since I wanted to use the standard section header with a different font size, I just made custom section headers by using an UIImageView with the standard section header as an image. It looks fine at first, but when I scroll the table, there are small gaps below and above the section headers: Since I am not allowed to post images or more than one hyperlink yet, I will have to provide you with one link to those images: Click me! Picture: How it looks like without touching anything Picture: Dragging the table down Picture: Dragging/Scrolling the table up So as you can hopefully see, there is a small empty gap under (2nd pic) and above (3rd pic) the section header. Another thing to mention is, that the standard behaviour of non-custom section headers is, that they don't become transparent when I drag the table down (making the table offset < 0.0). Is there a way to make custom section headers mimic the same behaviour without those annoying gaps? Greetings, Zhar

• How do you move html from one div to another with Jquery without breaking javascript

  I have two divs for different sections of my webpage, a working and a reference section. One is fixed size, the other is variable sized and they are vertically stacked. I am trying to design it so that if you want to work on something in the reference pane, you click a link and it swaps all the data between the two panes. My idea was to do the following: var working = $("#working_pane").html(); var ref = $("#reference_pane").html(); $("#working_pane").html(ref); $("#reference_pane").html(working); The problem with this, is it seems that any javascript referenced inside of these panes (for example, in place editors) get broken upon switching. No javascript errors occur, it's just that nothing happens, like the javascript ties are broken. Is there any to move the html without breaking the javascript contained?

  i have an RoR application Log, which similar to the book store app, my logs_controller has all default action: index, show, update, create, delete.. now i need to add new action :toCSV, i defined it in logs_controller, and add new route in the config/routes as: map.resources :logs, :collection = { :toCSV = :get }. from irb, i checked the routes and see the new routes added already: rs = ActionController::Routing::Routes puts rs.routes GET /logs/toCSV(.:format)? {:controller="logs", :action="toCSV"} then ran ‘rake routes’ command in shell, it returned: toCSV_logs GET /logs/toCSV(.:format) {:controller="logs", :action="toCSV"} everything seems working. finally in my views code, i added the following: link_to 'Export to CSV', toCSV_logs_path when access it in the brower 'http://localhost:3000/logs/toCSV', it complained: Couldn't find Log with ID=toCSV i checked in script/server, and saw this one: ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound (Couldn't find Log with ID=toCSV): app/controllers/logs_controller.rb:290:in `show' seems when i click that link, it direct it to the action 'show' instead of 'toCSV', thus it took 'toCSV' as an id...anyone know why would this happen? and to fix it? • Setting Grouping in UITableView under UINavigationController

  In my UINavigationController app, my first view is a UITableView. I can't seem to find a way to set the property of this UITableView to 'grouped'. Since UITableView is dynamically generated I don't have the luxury of Interface Builder. Searched forums here and googled other places and closest I saw was to override either initWithStyle or initWithCoder as follows. (id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewStyle)style { if (self = [super initWithStyle:UITableViewStyleGrouped]) { } return self; } However this above function never gets called. when I overrided initWithCoder I could see it worked and I was able to change UITableView contents to grouped. But then title automatically became 'Root View Controller' and none of the cells were active anymore although they got grouped fine. That is while they looked active but if you click on them, those cells won't do anything. But I have seen apps which have their very first view being UITableView is grouped. So there must be a way to do it but I don't know how.

  Hi all, I don't know if the title is very clear, but my issue is as follows : I have an activity with a listview, and on top of this listview, i have a searchfield (edittext). The issue is that when i try debugging on a phone, the virtual keyboard gets out straight after the screen displays the activity... And of course, it's hidding half of the list... So, is there an attribute or something I can use to prevent this from happening?(I still want to keybord to appear when i click the edittext though...) thank you

• IE Display bug - solved when using the "developer tools"?

  I have some Javascript/CSS issues with IE (no suprises?). So when I see the error in IE8, I go to Tools Developer Tools. Then I navigate to the correct DIV. I click on it, look around ... then I look again at my page, and the problem is fixed! This makes debugging pretty difficult... To see the display error, go to http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/home.do in IE, and look at the "Your Recent History" module.

  I want to use the built-in web server for VS 2008 and have it run my web-site project as the top level root "/". Instructions for VS 2005 can be found at: http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2006/12/19/tip-trick-how-to-run-a-root-site-with-the-local-web-server-using-vs-2005-sp1.aspx My problem is with step 3 of the instructions. When the the web-site project node is selected, right click never gives me an option to select a property-grid like that shown under step 3. Nor could I find another way in the menu or tool bar to get the property-grid. I don't know if the UI difference I'm seeing has to do with me using VS 2008 and the instructions are for VS 2005 or what? How do I get the web-site property-grid for VS 2008, or is there an alternative way to get the root setup I want?

  Hey Guys, i have a Problem to send a value from the DataGrid to a function- this is my function: private function browseLoc( location:String ):void { Alert.show(location,'Information'); } Now i have my DataGrid which receives Information from an XML File. Everything works fine.   I have a ul list, with 10 items, and I have a label that displays the selected li text. When I click a button, I need to check the label, versus all the list items to find the matching one, when it finds that I need to assign the corresponding number. I.e. list: Messi Cristiano Zlatan hidden values of list items: www.messi.com www.cronaldo.com www.ibra.com label: Zlatan script (thought)procces: get label text, search list for matching string, get the value of that string. • Formatting when copying SQL data and pasting in Excel

  I want to copy a sql result set and paste it in Excel. But the data I paste in to the spreadsheet doesn't want to recognize Excel formatting. So if I change a column to currency, it doesn't do anything. But...if I double click on a cell, THEN it applies the currency format. But only to that cell. How can I make it automatically recognize the Excel format? I must be something I'm missing. Hopefully somebody can help. :-)

  Hey all im learning as i go with editing CSS and PHP and ive manage to put together a layout, looks fine on the main page, but I noticed the content is not stretching properly height wise when i goto click on the 3D gallery. What steps do i take to allow it to be dynamically resized with the content in it? • Looking for C# framework for plotting scientific data: 2d/3d ...

  I need to visualize some scientific calculations. I generally prefer reusing code if there is already a good available instead of inventing wheels each time, that's why I am asking. I need a C# code to draw charts (just outputting a bitmap is ok) of 2d (y=f(x)) and 3d (z=f(x,y)) digital data sets (where any axis can be float, int or datetime), sometimes combined. If I go here and click 3D in the navigation bar on the left, there I can see what I need. But the cheapest version costs $759 there, looks scary for a hobby project of an east-european student :-(

  A control contains some HTML and some jQuery to handle a fancy tooltip to display when you click an image within a div. The control is then used on several different pages, sometimes within an updatePanel, sometimes not. I have the following code to handle loading the jQuery after a partial postback when the control is displayed within an update panel. • How to improve workflow for creating a Lua-based Wireshark dissector

  I've finally created a Dissector for my UDP protocol in Lua for Wireshark, but the work flow is just horrendous. It consists of editing my custom Lua file in my editor, then double-clicking my example capture file to launch Wireshark to see the changes. If there was an error, Wireshark informs me via dialogs or a red line in the Tree analysis sub-pane. I then re-edit my custom Lua file and then close that Wireshark instance, then double-click my example capture file again. It's like compiling a C file and only seeing one compiler error at a time. Is there a better (faster) way of looking at my changes, without having to restart Wireshark all the time? At the time, I was using Wireshark 1.2.9 for Windows with Lua enabled.

  The problem is there is a folder ./log/ containing the files like: jan2010.xml, feb2010.xml, mar2010.xml, jan2009.xml, feb2009.xml, mar2009.xml ... each xml file would like: <root><record name="bob" spend="20"></record>...(more records)</root> I want to write a piece of ColdFusion code (log.cfm) that simply parsing those xml files. For the front end I would let user to choose a year, then the click submit button. All the content in that year will be show up in separate table by month. Each table shows the total money spent for each person. like: person cost bob 200 mike 300 Total 500 Thanks.

• Google Map Overlay Icon disappears at certain zoom level

  I notice that Firefox 3 demonstrates this problem. I put down an overlay icon and play around with the map zoom. At certain zoom level, I found that the icon disappears for some unknown reason. Zooming out brings back the icon. Or during the disappearance, I click on the Google Map and it will somehow trigger to bring back the icon. I suspect it has something to do with the event triggering. Internet Explorer doesn't demonstrate the same problem though. Any advice? Like how to trigger update event on Firefox?

  Hello, I trying to do billing service. Seller can create bill from my website and send to the buyer. Once seller created bill, bill detail will be send to buyer email address. What I want to know is, at the bill information email, can i send payment link whether buyer can click payment link and carried to the paypal payment page directly. Will not be landing or redirecting from our page. Can it be possible ? Because when someone request money from paypal, we get the payment link from paypal which is directly go to the payment page.
