• NServiceBus is blocking when hosted in ASP.NET web application

  Hello, I created a simple web application where a search form is filled out, submit button clicked, and a message is sent with the search parameters via nServiceBus. I also have a handler in the same project that picks up the message (from the same queue). For some reason, the web server process blocks until after the message is picked up, is there any reason for this? I set a breakpoint in the message handler and it breaks before the request finishes... locking the browser until I allow the code to continue. I would expect control to return to the browser regardless of when the handler gets fired... Thanks, D.Niemeyer

• How to check for empty values on two fields then prompt user of error using javascript

  Hello guys, I hope I can explain this right I have two input fields that require a price to be entered into them in order for donation to go through and submit. The problem that I am having is that I would like the validation process check to see if one of the two fields has a value if so then proceed to submit. If both fields are empty then alert. • HTML - Word Doc Images

  Okay I have roughly 150 + pages of procedures all written in MS word. The person who wrote the procedures did an excellent job of recording the process how to perform specific tasks. This individual went though and created screen shots a MS word doc. There are approx 2 screen shots per page. So it is roughly 300 images and I do not want to recreate the wheel. Does anyone know a quick way of handling the images? The written portion is pretty straightforward but the images is what I am struggling with. Regards, Mike

  I'm trying to have some fun with fluxus, but its manual and online docs all seem to assume that the reader is already an expert network programmer who's never heard of Scheme before. Consequently, you get passages that try to explain the very basics of prefix notation, but assume that you know how to pipe sound-card data into the program, or setup and connect to an OSC process. Is there any tutorial out there that goes the opposite way? IE, assumes that you already have a handle on the Lisp/Scheme thing, but need some pointers before you can properly set up sound sources or an OSC server? Barring that, does anyone know how to get (for example) the system microphone to connect to (fluxus), or how to get it to play a sound file from disk?

  I've got a C# form, with various controls on it. The form controls an ongoing process, and there are many, many aspects that need to be right for the program to run correctly. Each part can be unit tested (for instance, loading some coefficients, drawing some diagnostics) but I often run into problems that are best described with an example: "If I click here, then here, then change this, then re-open the form, then click here, it crashes or produces an error" I've tried my best to use common code organisational ideas (inheritance, DRY, separation of concerns) but there never seems to be a way to test every single path, and inevitably, a form with several controls will have a huge number of ways to execute. What can I read (preferably online) that addresses this kind of issue, and is there a (non-generic) term for it. This isn't a specific problem I'm having, but one that creeps up on me, especially with WinForms.

• Processing files with C# in folders whose names contain spaces

  There are plenty of C# samples that show how to manipulate files and directories but they inevitably use folder paths that contain no spaces. In the real world I need to be able to process files in folders with names that contain spaces. I have written the code below which shows how I have solved the problem.   Wikipedia: An esoteric programming language (sometimes shortened to esolang) is a programming language designed as a test of the boundaries of computer programming language design, as a proof of concept, or as a joke. There is usually no intention of the language being adopted for real-world programming. Such languages are often popular among hackers and hobbyists. This use of esoteric is meant to distinguish these languages from more popular programming languages. Some more popular languages may appear esoteric (in the usual sense of the word) to some, and though these could arguably be called "esoteric programming languages" too, this is not what is meant. I think it might be worth it, just to learn a new language and go through the process, although only if you don't have anything else to do (like a real project or learning a new real language). But what does the community think? Is there some value in these languages?

  So I'm beginning to wonder how leaky the gnome2 libraries for ruby1.8.6 are. #!/usr/bin/env ruby require 'gtk2' while true sleep 0.1 pixbuf = Gdk::PixbufLoader.new pixbuf = nil end this leaks about 16kb/sec according to watch -n 1 ps -o rss -p <process id> This is compounded if you start trying to write a chunk of large chunks of image data to it using pixbuf.last_write img_data Any ideas how to get around this (and the second issue)? I need to update image data within my code but it seems like anything that ends up using a pixbuf leaks like a sieve.

• Looking for actively maintained matrix math library for php

  Does anyone know where I might find a PHP matrix math library which is still actively maintained? I need to be able to do the basic matrix operations like reduce, transpose (including non-square matrices), invert, determinant, etc. This question was asked in the past, then closed with no answers. Now I need an answer to the same question.   I have a dropdown list that I want to show only certain options when a bool is true of false. if (mainForm.boolEdit == true) { this.cmbStatusBox.Items.AddRange(new object[] { "Cooking", "In-transit", "Delivered"}); } else { this.cmbStatusBox.Items.AddRange(new object[] { "Ordered"}); } I put this code into the saveForm.Designer.cs and got the following error: The designer cannot process the code at line 205: if (mainForm.boolEdit == true) { this.cmbStatusBox.Items.AddRange(new object[] { "Cooking", "In-transit", "Delivered"}); } else { this.cmbStatusBox.Items.AddRange(new object[] { "Ordered"}); } The code within the method 'InitializeComponent' is generated by the designer and should not be manually modified. Please remove any changes and try opening the designer again. What are my alternatives?

  I have a crawler application (with C#) that downloads pages from web . The application take more virtual memory , even i dispose every object and even use GC.Collect() . This , have 10 thread and each thread has a socket that downloads pages . I use dispose method and even use GC.Collect() in my application , but in 3 hour my application take 500 MB on virtual memory (500 MB on private bytes in Process explorer) . Then my system will be hang and i should restart my pc . Is there any way that i use to free vitual memory ? Thanks .

  I have searched the net and searched the net only to not quite find the probably I am running into. I am currently having an issue getting a SqlDataAdapter to populate a DataSet. I am running Visual Studio 2008 and the query is being sent to a local instance of SqlServer 2008. If I run the query itself in SqlServer, I do get information. LAME and the compiled code reside in the same directory when installed. Help!

• Drupal Views pulling Data Fields

  I'm a little new to drupal but have been using things like devel module and theme developer to speed up the learning process. My question, is it possible to theme an entire views BLOCK from a single views tpl.php page OR even a preprocess? When I'm grabbing the $view object I can see results $node-result, it has all of the results, but it doesn't have all my views fields. I'm missing things like, node path, taxonomy titles and paths, etc. From my understanding, Drupal wants you to individually theme EACH output field. It seems rather superfluous to create so many extra templates when I've already got over HALF of my results coming through the $view object Would outputting node over field make this easier? Or am going in the wrong direction with $view-result? Thanks!

  This may be a really dumb question but I figure why not... I am using RIA Services with Entity Framework as the back end. I have some places in my app where I accept user input and directly ask RIA Services (and in turn EF and in turn my database) questions using their data. Do any of these layers help prevent security issues or should I scrub my data myself? For example, whenever a new user registers with the app, I call this method: [Query] public IEnumerable<EmailVerificationResult> VerifyUserWithEmailToken(string token) { using (UserService userService = new UserService()) { // token came straight from the user, am I in trouble here passing it directly into // my DomainService, should I verify the data here (or in UserService)? User user = userService.GetUserByEmailVerificationToken(token); ... } } (and whether I should be rolling my own user verification system is another issue altogether, we are in the process of adopting MS's membership framework. I'm more interested in sql injection and RIA services in general)

I am thinking of creating a deamon that would: upon start rename /dev/tty.baseband to /dev/tty.baseband.old. create a raw node /dev/tty.baseband spawn two threads: Thread 1: reading /dev/tty.baseband.old writing into /dev/tty.baseband Thread 2: reading /dev/tty.baseband writing into /dev/tty.baseband.old This would work a little bit like a MITM process. I wonder if there is not a 'standard' way to do this.

• Java BufferedReader readline blocking?

  I want to make an HTTP request and then get the response as sketched here: URLConnection c = new URL("http://foo.com").openConnection(); c.setDoOutput(true); /* write an http request here using a new OutputStreamWriter(c.getOutputStream) */ BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(c.getInputStream)); reader.readLine(); But my question is, if the request I send takes a long time before a response is received, what happens in the call reader.readLine() above? Will this process stay running/runnable on the CPU or will it get taken off the CPU and be notified to wake up and run again when there is IO to be read? If it stays on the CPU, what can be done to make it get off and be notified later?
