• Spring-webflow error popup tweak

  There is a link in a spring-webflow2 based application which start different flows. Flows are shown in popup (popup=true). If the session is expired or server is unavailable, the spring-webflow shows small empty popup with "Ajax Request Error" tooltip shown on mouse over. Is it possible to tweak the popup in order to give the user an ability to either re-login or to just close the popup and retry the request? EDIT: Or maybe some ideas how to force Spring-Dojo to make a redirect to login page?

• Beginner assembly programming memory usage question

  I've been getting into some assembly lately and its fun as it challenges everything i have learned. I was wondering if i could ask a few questions When running an executable, does the entire executable get loaded into memory? From a bit of fiddling i've found that constants aren't really constants? Is it just a compiler thing? const int i = 5; _asm { mov i, 0 } // i is now 0 and compiles fine So are all variables assigned with a constant value embedded into the file as well? Meaning: int a = 1; const int b = 2; void something() { const int c = 3; int d = 4; } Will i find all of these variables embedded in the file (in a hex editor or something)? If the executable is loaded into memory then "constants" are technically using memory? I've read around on the net people saying that constants don't use memory, is this true?

• Method return values and exceptions

  I have an interface called iIncident which defines a single method when(). when() should return a DateTime object. I'm trying to decide what to do if $object->when() has no DateTime to return as might be the case just after an object is instantiated and before all its properties are set. My choices are: return false throw some kind of Exception return some default DateTime like '9999-01-01' My inclination is to go with an Exception since $object really can't act as an incident until it knows when it occurred. I don't want to return a default DateTime because it complicates comparisons and it's not true. And I don't really want to return false because then I have to check for it every time I call the method- but if that is the preferred method, I guess I will. Is throwing an exception the best way? And is there a predefined exception type I should use (none of the SPL ones struck me as particularly appropriate- but that might just indicate my lack of experience)?

• Using unless in rails uniqueness validation

  I am just starting out in Rails, and trying to develop a simple application. I need to validate three values submitted to the application - each must meet the same validation criteria. The validation is pretty simple: Value is valid if unqiue, null or equal to "p" or "d". The following gets me halfway there: validates_uniqueness_of :value1, :value2, :value3, :allow_nil => true I think I can use :unless to check whether the value is either "p" or "d", however I can't figure out how. I guess I am trying to combine validates_uniqueness_of with validates_inclusion_of. Any suggestions?

• Jquery draggable with zoom problem

  I am working on a page in witch all its contents are scaled by using zoom. The problem is that when I drag something in the page the dragging item gets a bad position that seems relative to the zoom amount. To solve this I tried to do some math on the position of the draggable component, but seems that even tho visually its corrected, the "true" position its not recalculated. here is some code to explain better: var zoom = Math.round((parseFloat($("body").css("zoom")) / 100)*10)/10; var x = $(this).data('draggable').position; $(this).data('draggable').position.left = Math.round(x.left/zoom); $(this).data('draggable').position.top = Math.round(x.top/zoom); Any help would be greatly appreciated

• Why don't I have access to setReadDataOnly() or enableMemoryOptimization() in PHPExcel?

  I've downloaded PHPExcel 1.7.5 Production. I would like to use setReadDataOnly() and enableMemoryOptimization() as discussed in their forum here and in stackoverflow questions. However when I use them, I get a Call to undefined method error. Is there another version or some plugin or library that I have not installed? • ASP.NET - DropDown DataBinding (Rebind?)

  I have a drop down which has a method which binds data to it: dropDown.Items.Clear() dropDown.AppendDataBoundItems = True Select Case selType Case SelectionTypes.Empty dropDown.Items.Insert(0, New ListItem("", "")) Case SelectionTypes.Any dropDown.Items.Insert(0, New ListItem("ANY", "")) Case SelectionTypes.Select dropDown.Items.Insert(0, New ListItem("Select One", "")) End Select BindDropDown(val) The BindDropDown method simply sets the datasource, datakeyname, datavaluename, and then databinds the data. For a reason which I cannot avoid, I MUST call this method twice sometimes. When it is called twice, All of the databound items show up two times, but the top item (the one I manually insert) is there only once. Is ASP doing something wierd when i databind twice even though i clear the list between? Or does it have to do something with the viewstate/controlstate? EDIT__ The entire page, and this control has EnableViewState="false" EDIT___ The dropdown is inside a form view. After the selected value is set I have to rebind the dropdown just in case the selected value is not there [because it is an inactive user]. After this, the formview duplicates the databound items.

When i filled all the tables using stored procedure it returns me all the table but name of the table doesn't comes as that of actual table name in a database. • Issue with plotting daily data using ggplot

  I tried to plot daily data from 9 variables in ggplot, but the graph I get cannot handle the date variable properly. The x axis is unreadable and its impossible to read the plot. I'm guessing there's an issue with the handling of dates.   I'm trying to get the default behavior for a client referencing my WCF WSDL to set IsReference to true on the imported DataContracts. It looks like I should be able to use an IDataContractSurrogate with GetCustomDataToExport to accomplish this...which specifcally means adding the following to the generated ComplexType in the xsd associated with the WSDL: <xs:attribute ref="ser:Id" /> <xs:attribute ref="ser:Ref" /> There is, of course no usable documentation I can find from MS about how to use this method. The MSDN page says it should return an object...but does not indicate at all what type of object this should be....how useless... Before I go reflector'ing for this, does anyone out there know how to use this method? Thanks.

  What's the best way to detect event support in Firefox. Opera, Internet Explorer and Safari/Chrome all support eventName in object, but Firefox doesn't. My test case is this: javascript:alert("onclick" in document.createElement("a")) Which alerts true when entered into the address bar on the aforementioned browsers, and alerts false for Firefox.   Let's say I have an array of zeros: a = numpy.zeros(1000) I then introduce some repetitive 'events': a[range(0, 1000, 30)] = 1 Question is, how do I detect the 'signal' there? Because it's far from the ideal signal if I do the 'regular' FFT I don't get a clear indication of where my 'true' signal is: f = abs(numpy.fft.rfft(a)) Is there a method to detect these repetitions with some degree of certainty? Especially if I have few of those mixed in, for example here: a[range(0, 1000, 30)] = 1 a[range(0, 1000, 110)] = 1 a[range(0, 1000, 48)] = 1 I'd like to get three 'spikes' on the resulting data...
