  • Recovering data from mangodb raw files

  • WSS Search fills 10 GB limit on SBS server 2011

    I've got a SBS Server 2011 Standard SP1 that isn't very busy. 2 Users local and 2 remote. We have sharepoint that has maybe a dozen small documents at most. I've just started getting the following two error occur Could not allocate space for object 'dbo.MSSBatchHistory'.'IX_MSSBatchHistory' in database 'WSS_Search_SERVER' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup. And CREATE DATABASE or ALTER DATABASE failed because the resulting cumulative database size would exceed your licensed limit of 10240 MB per database. Digging around in SQL manager I see that WSS Search DB file size is 10241MB, the log file is only 147 MB Firstly, why is WSS Search taking up so much space? How can I stop it from doing so, and what can I do now to get things running ok. I know about log file truncating and this isn't the case here since the log is tiny. Any help is appreciated.   • Macintosh computers cannot connect to router unless we re-start the modem and router

    We have a small office network with DSL and a Netgear WNR-2000 wireless router acting as a DHCP server. There are nine devices connected to the router, wirelessly and wired. Whenever a Mac computer tries to connect, it's unsuccessful until we restart the router. Each of the possible devices that can connect to the network is listed in a table to assign certain IP addresses to certain MAC addresses. I am running WPA-PSK security. I can view the router status and see that the Mac's MAC address is visible to the router, but with a 169.* IP address, even though I'm assigning its MAC address to an IP address within my subnet. All non-Mac devices attached to the network connect properly, and can access the network properly even AFTER the Mac has not successfully connected. The network includes Windows devices, Roku boxes, printers and internet ready TVs. This to me, would point to a DHCP issue with how Mac communicates with my network. One interesting thing to note is that if a Mac connects and is prevented from sleeping, it will stay connected indefinitely; reissuing the security cert from the router works fine. I'm not sure if that's supposed to sever & re-establish a connection with the updated credentials or not, but I do stay connected. If the Mac sleeps and is awakened while the security cert is still valid, it connects fine. If the security certificate expires while the Mac is asleep, we need to restart the router. Restarting the router will ALWAYS assigns the proper IP addresses to the Mac equipment. I have heard anecdotally that Mac doesn't play well with 802.11n; I have not tested any other Wireless protocols. There's a couple issues here: First, I found this on Stack, Mac laptop crashing wireless router, but it's not rally applicable since the router isn't crashing. But, it does give some clues about Mac's accessing the network. I did change my encryption from WEP to WPA-PSK, but after about a week, we're still experiencing the issue. I'm not really sure if there's anything else useful in that question. Second, I'm considering getting a 802.11c router and hooking it up to the wireless N router. the 802.11c router would handle all the Mac traffic, and would be set up as a Mac-only subnet. Everything else would remain as is. However, I'm not sure if this is doable on a technology level...do I need a bridge or is this some way to do this with regular consumer gear?

  • SQL Server tempdb question

    From what I understand the system database is used to hold temporary tables, intermediate results and other temporary information. On one of my database instances I have a tempdb that is seems very large (30GB). This database has not been modified (as in "last modified date" on the mdf file) in over a week. Is it normal to have the temp db remain that large for that long of a period? It seems to me that it should be updating fairly often and returning space that it is using fairly quickly... Am I way off here or is SQL Server doing something weird? FYI: This is a SharePoint 2010 database, not sure if that makes a difference.

    I am trying to get a Antivirus server for my Virtual Private Server that has Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 1.5 GB RAM and 40 GB HD. I see people have suggested for NOD32 or Kaspersky but they are not offering Internet security for one server in business edition (it starts with at least 5 PC) and they says I can't install home edition on my VPS as this is for business purpose. Is there any good antivirus/internet security program that I can buy for my single VPS? Any suggestion will help me. Thanks

  • E-mail message of failed lock not identifying affected Lotus Notes documents

    I have a user who was sent several messages to his Outlook account with the following subject: Changes made to the database xxxx have NOT been incorporated into the database. There was a conflict detected. Your changes may be found in body of this message. A document link to the original document is attached to the end of the message. Unfortunately, besides the link, the body of the email is blank and the link URL is of this form: Notes:///482567CC001B4104. The link seems to be making reference to the database replica ID and clicking on the link opens up the database and not directly to the affected document. I'm finding that the message is not very useful in terms of identifying the affected document. Can anyone advise me on the ways to identify the affected documents or configure the system so that it would identify/link the affected documents?

  • Compressing and copying large files on Windows Server?

    I've been having a hard time copying large database backups from the database server to a test box at another site. I'm open to any ideas that would help me get this database moved without having to resort to a USB hard drive and the mail. The database server is running Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise, 16 GB of RAM and two quad-core 3.0 GHz Xeon X5450s. Files are SQL Server 2005 backup files between 100 GB and 250 GB. The pipe is not the fastest and SQL Server backup files typically compress down to 10-40% of the original, so it made sense to me to compress the files first. I've tried a number of methods, including: gzip 1.2.4 (UnxUtils) and 1.3.12 (GnuWin) bzip2 1.0.1 (UnxUtils) and 1.0.5 (Cygwin) WinRAR 3.90 7-Zip 4.65 (7za.exe) I've attempted to use WinRAR and 7-Zip options for splitting into multiple segments. 7za.exe has worked well for me for database backups on another server, which has ~50 GB backups. I've also tried splitting the .BAK file first with various utilities and compressing the resulting segments. No joy with that approach either- no matter the tool I've tried, it ends up butting against the size of the file. Especially frustrating is that I've transferred files of similar size on Unix boxes without problems using rsync+ssh. Installing an SSH server is not an option for the situation I'm in, unfortunately.   • Version control and branching when using Oracle

    Hi folks: At work we're using Oracle and C#/ASP.net to handle a customer's website, this site is very large-scale so the database is very large. We use Perforce for our version control, and tack create or replace scripts to FogBugz cases whenever a database change, which has been fine until now, as we are now at a point where five developers are working on five expansions for the system, each on a seperate Perforce branch. Unfortunately, we cannot get duplicate databases, due to the database size, so everyone is still working from the same one. This is obviously a cause of problems: only ten minutes ago we had a bit of an issue where a stored procedure change for a branch propagated over to the Pre-Production server and caused a large number of crashes for the testers. Ideally, we would like a way to track these changes without having to manually keep track of them through FogBugz. My question is: how do you lot handle this situation? I'm sure there must be a good way by now to handle versioning, or at least tracking changes, in an Oracle database.

    We installed a clustered SQL 2005 installation on windows 2008 and reattached our san drives from another machine and restored to do a migration to new hardware. There have been a few minor issues, but this one has me stuck. Trying to populate Full-Text indexes is not working.     Hi, I keep getting a 404 Page Not Found whenever I try to access CodeIgniter's Scaffolding page in my browser, like so: localhost/codeignitor/index.php/blog/scaffolding/mysecretword I can access localhost/codeignitor/index.php/blog just fine. I followed CodeIgnitor's instructions in their "Create a blog in 20 minutes" by storing my database settings in the database.php file; and automatically connecting to the database by inserting "database" in the core array of the autoload.php; and I've added both parent::Controller(); and $this-load-scaffolding('myTableName') to blog's constructor. It still gives me this 404. Any suggestions?

    I recently duplicated my XP "C" drive, using Retrospect. When it finished, there were 6 errors. I checked the log and the 1st error referred to Microsoft Security Essentials\Support\Applications.etl: Appears incomplete. The other 5 errors referred to the Microsoft SQL Server.....\MSSQL\log_...trc: Appears incomplete. Is this a problem that can be solved by reinstalling Microsoft Security Essentials? Or wht else?   • Pinning based on origin of a reprepro repository.

    I'm on Ubuntu 10.04, and trying to set up a repository using reprepro. I'd also like the pin everything in that repository to be preferred over anything else, even if packages are older versions. (It will only contain a select set of packages.) However, I cannot seem to get the pinning to work, and believe it has something to do with the repository side of things, rather than the apt configuration on the client. I've taken the following steps to set up my repository Installed a web server (my personal choice here is Cherokee), Created the directory /var/www/apt/, Created the file conf/distributions, like so: Origin: Shteef Label: Shteef Suite: lucid Version: 10.04 Codename: lucid Architectures: i386 amd64 source Components: main Description: My personal repository Ran reprepro export from the /var/www/apt/ directory.   • Can't connect to EC2 instance in VPC (Amazon AWS)

    I've taken the following steps: Created a VPC (with a single public subnet) Added an EC2 instance to the VPC Allocated an elastic IP Associated the elastic IP with the instance Created a security group and assigned it to the instance Modified the security rules to allow inbound ICMP echo and TCP on port 22 I've done all this and I still can't ping or ssh into the instance. If I follow the same steps minus the VPC bits I am able to set this up without issue. What step am I missing?

  • Cannot get Backup Exec to backup Exchange.

    I have a media server, Windows Server 2008 SP2 running Backup Exec 2010 R2. The SQL and other Windows agents work but I cannot backup the Exchange 2010 server running Windows Server2008 R2. I have the correct license for the Exchange agent - installed on the media server, and I installed Exchange Management tools on the media server. The 'Microsoft Exchange Database Availability Group' option is greyed out and if I select the server under a new backup job I can expand the 'Microsoft Information Store' option and see the mail database name but showing 0Kb. When I try to back it up it gives an error displaying: The job failed with the following error: Backup Exec attempted to back up an Exchange database according to the job settings. The database was not found, however. Update the selection list and run the job again.

    I am trying to syncrhonize a ldap slave and master server. The master server is using openldap 2.3.43-12 and the slave server is using openldap 2.4.23.   • Can't port forward ssh on Asus RT-NU56 wireless router

    I cannot ssh in (using putty) when I use 10.0.1.31 as the address. database server - wired switch part of Asus wireless router - office LAN So basically, we want to ssh in to the database server from our computer on the wired office LAN. Asus router has an ip of 10.0.1.31 and database server has a static IP of 192.168.0.20 I set up port forwarding like this: ssh 22 192.168.0.20 22 BOTH Firewall is turned completely off. Any other settings I'm missing?

  • Spring-mvc project can't select from a particular mysql table

    I'm building a Spring-mvc project (using JPA and Hibernate for DB access) that is running just great locally, on my dev box, with a local MySQL database. Now I'm trying to put a snapshot up on a staging server for my client to play with, and I'm having trouble. Tomcat (after some wrestling) deploys my war file without complaint, and I can get some response from the application over the browser. When I hit my main page, which is behind Spring Security authentication, it redirects me to the login page, which works perfectly. I have Security configured to query the database for user details, and that works fine. In fact, a change to a password in the database is reflected in the behavior of the login form, so I'm confident it IS reaching the database and querying the user table. Once authenticated, we go to the first "real" page of the app, and I get a "data access failure" error. The server's console log gets this line (redacted): ERROR org.hibernate.util.JDBCExceptionReporter - SELECT command denied to user 'myDbUser'@'localhost' for table 'asset' However, if I go to MySQL from the shell using exactly the same creds, I have no problem at all selecting from the asset table: [development@tomcat01stg]$ mysql -u myDbUser -pmyDbPwd dbName ... mysql> \s -------------- mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.77, for redhat-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 5.1 Connection id: 199 Current database: dbName Current user: myDbUser@localhost ... Nothing is changing the behavior of this thing. What gives?

    ...when logged into a Server via remote Desktop? I see no way to Access Windows security. In "old" 2008 R2 there was a "Windows Security" entry in the start menu when coming via rdp. In the new Metro Start Menu, the username context menu allows me to lock the Computer or log out - but not Change the Password. Yes, I can go through user Management, but this is not something I want People to do ;)

  • Published software not displayed in Add/Remove Programs

    I just followed How to use Group Policy to remotely install software in Windows Server 2003 to try publishing a software (MSI file). I could follow all the steps, but the supposedly successfully published software does not appear on client/user machine's Add/Remove Programs. Could some help figure why this may not be working. Update: On reading this question on Experts-Exchange, tried gpresults.
