  • STM32 Compiler/Debugger Chain?

    - by Nate
I'm starting a project with a STMicro STM32. I've done the Google searches, looking for solid compiler/debugger chains but would prefer answers with success stories. Open Source Compilers/Linkers would be ideal, I just don't know if their STM32 toolchains are stable yet. (Both C, C++ compilers are acceptable). -- So commercial options are acceptable as well. Do any of you have useful suggestions?

  • log4j properties file: how to configure ?

    - by EugeneP
Is it right that the procedure of using log4j looks like this: 1) put a .properties file somewhere in a project folder 2) in an initialization method, that runs only once, invoke PropertyConfigurator.configure("path_to_file"); 3) in every method we need to use logger we define a static logger variable and simply invoke getLogger(class) I'm asking you this: what if the initialization module is not defined? Where to put "log4j.properties" file so that we wouldn't need to invoke propertyconfigurator.configure at all, or if it's not possible, is it ok to invoke PropertyConfigurator.configure("path_to_file") in every method that uses a logger?

  • MongoDB index/RAM relationship

    - by Tegan Clark
I'm about to adopt MongoDB for a new project and I've chosen it for flexibility, not scalability. From the documentation and web posts I keep reading that all indexes are in RAM. This just isn't making sense to me as my indexes will easily be larger than the amount of available RAM. Can anyone share some insight on the index/RAM relationship and what happens when both an individual index and all of my indexes exceed the size of available RAM?

    - by DotnetDude
I am getting started with my first MVC project and want to start off on the right foot. I know the basics of how to create a quick and dirty MVC application. However, I'd like to get my hands on a resource that uses best practices for developing ASP.NET MVC applications (either a document or a sample quickstart app) Any help is appreciated

  • Symfony with only FTP access

    - by Asaf
Hello, I'm currently developing on my local pc, to which I have complete access of course. However to my production server I have only FTP access. Now, this step http://www.symfony-project.org/getting-started/1_4/en/05-Web-Server-Configuration On Symfony's installation guide, suggests that I need to edit the httpd.conf I was wondering if there's an alternative since I don't have access to it on production.

  • XCode -> Build starting with a specific class

    - by ML
When I build with XCode (I am porting a large project with tons of errors at this point), is there a way to have it start with the CPP file that contains my main class (I obviously know this file) so I can correct errors there first? I mean we have about 400,000 errors moving from CW to XCode.

  • Entity Date Modelset Generates Errors in Visual Web Developer

    - by davemackey
I attempted to add a ADO.NET Entity Data Model to my Visual Web Developer 2010 Express project and it generates but returns a whole slew of errors. Why is this generating errors? Here are the main errors: 'Public Property ID As Integer' has multiple definitions with identical signatures. Method 'Onaddress_IDChanging' cannot be declared 'Partial' because only one method 'Onaddress_IDChanging' can be marked 'Partial'. '_line1' is already declared as 'Private _line1 As String' in this class.

  • MinGW/GCC Delay Loaded DLL equivalent?

    - by VoiDeD
Hello, I'm trying to port some old MSVC C++ code to MinGW/GCC. One problem is that the project relies heavily on the /DELAYLOAD option for functions that aren't always used, and where the proper dll is located at runtime. Is there such a similar option on MinGW/GCC? This code is targeting the windows platform.

  • Upgrading dojo in Spring-js from 1.3 to 1.4

    - by peirix
We have a project where we're using Spring-js. With it comes Spring-dojo and the full dojo package. But in the current version of Spring-js (2.0.9), it's using dojo 1.3. Is there a way to upgrade manually to dojo 1.4? Or even a new Spring-js.jar-file that can be donwloaded that uses dojo 1.4?

  • How to resolve conflicting assemblies in .Net?

    - by Amitabh
In my web application I am using NHibernate.dll. This has a dependency on folowing assembly. 'Antlr3.Runtime, Version=3.1.0.39271, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3a9cab8f8d22bfb7' Now in the same project for another requirement I have to introduce Antlr3.StringTemplate.dll. Which has a dependency on another version of the above assembly. If I use the version of Antlr3.Runtime.dll which satisfies NHibernate , Antlr3.StringTemplate starts complaining and vice-versa. How to resolve a situation like this?

  • Would someone mind giving suggestions for this new assembly language?

    - by Noctis Skytower
Greetings! Last semester in college, my teacher in the Computer Languages class taught us the esoteric language named Whitespace. In the interest of learning the language better with a very busy schedule (midterms), I wrote an interpreter and assembler in Python. An assembly language was designed to facilitate writing programs easily, and a sample program was written with the given assembly mnemonics. Now that it is summer, a new project has begun with the objective being to rewrite the interpreter and assembler for Whitespace 0.3, with further developments coming afterwards. Since there is so much extra time than before to work on its design, you are presented here with an outline that provides a revised set of mnemonics for the assembly language. This post is marked as a wiki for their discussion. Have you ever had any experience with assembly languages in the past? Were there some instructions that you thought should have been renamed to something different? Did you find yourself thinking outside the box and with a different paradigm than in which the mnemonics were named? If you can answer yes to any of those questions, you are most welcome here. Subjective answers are appreciated! hold N Push the number onto the stack copy Duplicate the top item on the stack copy N Copy the nth item on the stack (given by the argument) onto the top of the stack swap Swap the top two items on the stack drop Discard the top item on the stack drop N Slide n items off the stack, keeping the top item add Addition sub Subtraction mul Multiplication div Integer Division mod Modulo save Store load Retrieve L: Mark a location in the program call L Call a subroutine goto L Jump unconditionally to a label if=0 L Jump to a label if the top of the stack is zero if<0 L Jump to a label if the top of the stack is negative return End a subroutine and transfer control back to the caller exit End the program print chr Output the character at the top of the stack print int Output the number at the top of the stack input chr Read a character and place it in the location given by the top of the stack input int Read a number and place it in the location given by the top of the stack Question: How would you redesign, rewrite, or rename the previous mnemonics and for what reasons?

  • Should I use PHP or PHP + J2EE?

    - by Sean Xiong
I'm going to start a new project with instant message support. I find that there is no good long polling solution in PHP, but there is some good ones in J2EE. I'm wondering if I can integrate PHP and J2EE to get the function? Or should I just use J2EE instead of PHP? Thanks.

  • scons LIBPATH generates additional library paths

    - by Anonym
I'm building a C project using scons, some internal static libraries are build and the exe files are linked to it. However, setting: env['LIBPATH'] = ['#build/libs'] generates a -Llibs and a -Lbuild/libs argument to gcc: gcc -o edecode main.o pack16.o pack16le.o pack32.o pack32le.o pack64.o -Lbuild/libs -Llibs -lutillib Why's that ? I only told it to look in build/libs

  • How to debug Sharepoint solution/feature through Visual studio ?

    - by pointlesspolitics
Recently I tried to install a webpart through wspbuilder utility to the Sharepoint Site. I have created, built and deployed a project to the 12 hive. After that installed the solution through Cental Administration Site and activated in the site collection. I just wonder how can I debug the complex feature/solution ? Because both processes (build-deploy and activate) totally independent, how can I attach a process with the worker process ?
