    I am building a twitter application and would like to use the structure of the their homepage. Can anyone suggest how to go about doing this, or point to a reference that does this?     I have an unordered list and each li makes up one item in a two column layout: col1 col2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 I need to have an alternating background colour for each item BUT NOT so each item in one column is the same. So : 1,4,5,8,9,11 will have one colour; and 2,3,6,7,10,12 will have another colour. Can this be achieved with one :nth-child rule? Thanks!

    I wrote a simple Qt application (Windows+Mac) that uses QtWebKit to render a web site inside a window. But I already saw differences in layout and behavior between our app and Chrome (that uses WebKit as well), e.g.: - different fonts are displayed for the same web page - an html anchor link with "javascript:someFunction()" is not working Is there somewhere a summary list of all such differences (not the entire QtWebKit bug list)? Also: is there a way to use a WebKit version more similar to Chrome in my application?

  • Default js included in Rails

    When creating a new Rails application, it is automatically supplied with several quite large js files. In the application layout, by default, all of them are loaded into the page: <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults %> I was wondering, isn't loading all those javascripts can make the site possibly mush slower? And if so, where can I change the definition of :defaults? Or should I just include the ones I need and remove the code line mentioned above? Thank you

The last column on the right is: #right_column { float: left; width: 7em; border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 5px; } My footer is going into the bottom of my right column. If I remove the right column the footer is still misplaced in the page. I presume it is something related to the float.

    If you look here: http://creathive.net you will see I have an application form down at the bottom of the page and I have added some jQuery validation to make a user fills it out correctly. However what I would like to do is instead of showing all those labels next to the input boxes (which breaks the layout) is just keep it simple and only change the colours of the input fields.   • How do I animate View.setVisibility(GONE)

    I want to make an Animation for when a View gets it's visibility set to GONE. Instead of just dissapearing, the View should 'collapse'. I tried this with a ScaleAnimation but then the View is collapse, but the layout will only resize it's space after (or before) the Animation stops (or starts). How can I make the Animation so that, while animating, the lower Views will stay directly below the content, instead of having a blank space?

    Hi, Here's the problem I'm facing : I've got a custom slider that controlls the volume and a label "volume" that I combine together in a liniar Layout to obtain a volume control setting. In the emulator and on a G1 phone these look pretty ok , however , when put on a Xperia mini the label and the slider overlap . What should I do obtain a decent view independent of the device the application runs ?

    What is Logically correct and W3C valid way to clear float? zoom:1 is not valid by W3C and IE8 don't have hash layout problem overflow:hidden and overflow:hidden were not made to do this,as the spec intended overflow to be used <div class="clear"/> is not semantically correct and i don't want to add extra markup. clearfix hack generates content that really hasn’t any semantic value. I've asked many questions and read many articles on this issue but haven't find best way.
