    What we're looking for instead is an open source, preferably Web-based email marketing campaign that will give us the ability to create, send , track your bulk emails using creatively-designed templates to promote your business happenings, events, discounts and etc. It can keep in contact with subscribers.It includes over 100 templates, bounce management, basic data tracking, A/B testing, and more. Any effective recommendation?

  • saslauthd + PostFix producing password verification and authentication errors

    - by Aram Papazian
    So I'm trying to setup PostFix while using SASL (Cyrus variety preferred, I was using dovecot earlier but I'm switching from dovecot to courier so I want to use cyrus instead of dovecot) but I seem to be having issues. Here are the errors I'm receiving: ==> mail.log <== Aug 10 05:11:49 crazyinsanoman postfix/smtpd[779]: warning: SASL authentication failure: Password verification failed Aug 10 05:11:49 crazyinsanoman postfix/smtpd[779]: warning: ipname[xx.xx.xx.xx]: SASL PLAIN authentication failed: authentication failure ==> mail.info <== Aug 10 05:11:49 crazyinsanoman postfix/smtpd[779]: warning: SASL authentication failure: Password verification failed Aug 10 05:11:49 crazyinsanoman postfix/smtpd[779]: warning: ipname[xx.xx.xx.xx]: SASL PLAIN authentication failed: authentication failure ==> mail.warn <== Aug 10 05:11:49 crazyinsanoman postfix/smtpd[779]: warning: SASL authentication failure: Password verification failed Aug 10 05:11:49 crazyinsanoman postfix/smtpd[779]: warning: ipname[xx.xx.xx.xx]: SASL PLAIN authentication failed: authentication failure I tried $testsaslauthd -u xxxx -p xxxx 0: OK "Success." So I know that the password/user I'm using is correct. I'm thinking that most likely I have a setting wrong somewhere, but can't seem to find where. Here is my files. The password in 'users' is set through the 'ENCRYPT()' function. I also followed the methods found in http://www.jimmy.co.at/weblog/?p=52 in order to redo /var/spool/postfix/var/run/saslauthd as that seems to be a lot of people's problems, but that didn't help at all. Also, here is my /etc/default/saslauthd START=yes DESC="SASL Authentication Daemon" NAME="saslauthd" # Which authentication mechanisms should saslauthd use? (default: pam) # # Available options in this Debian package: # getpwent -- use the getpwent() library function # kerberos5 -- use Kerberos 5 # pam -- use PAM # rimap -- use a remote IMAP server # shadow -- use the local shadow password file # sasldb -- use the local sasldb database file # ldap -- use LDAP (configuration is in /etc/saslauthd.conf) # # Only one option may be used at a time. See the saslauthd man page # for more information. # # Example: MECHANISMS="pam" MECHANISMS="pam" MECH_OPTIONS="" THREADS=5 OPTIONS="-c -m /var/spool/postfix/var/run/saslauthd -r" I had heard that potentially changing MECHANISM to MECHANISMS="mysql" but obviously that didn't help as is shown by the options listed above and also by trying it out anyway in case the documentation was outdated. So, I'm now at a loss... I have no idea where to go from here or what steps I need to do to get this working =/ Anyone have any ideas? EDIT: Here is the error that is coming from auth.log ... • Linux bizarre memory report

    - by Igor Liner
    I took the following meminfo captures. I don't figure out how the free memory went from 8GB to almost 25GB, when only about 4GB of slab was freed. There was no change of the proccess memory consumption on time the meminfo output was taken. • Unable to receive any emails using postfix, dovecot, mysql, and virtual domain/mailboxes

    - by stkdev248
    I have been working on configuring my mail server for the last couple of weeks using postfix, dovecot, and mysql. I have one virtual domain and a few virtual mailboxes. Using squirrelmail I have been able to log into my accounts and send emails out (e.g. I can send to googlemail just fine), however I am not able to receive any emails--not from the outside world nor from within my own network. I am able to telnet in using localhost, my private ip, and my public ip on port 25 without any problems (I've tried it from the server itself and from another computer on my network). This is what I get in my logs when I send an email from my googlemail account to my mail server: mail.log Apr 14 07:36:06 server1 postfix/qmgr[1721]: BE01B520538: from=, size=733, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Apr 14 07:36:06 server1 postfix/pipe[3371]: 78BC0520510: to=, relay=dovecot, delay=45421, delays=45421/0/0/0.13, dsn=4.3.0, status=deferred (temporary failure. • Sign multiple domains with single Domain Key (dk-filter)

    - by Lashae
    Motivation The private shopping website GILT, send periodical update emails from giltgroupe.bounce.ed10.net however all of the mails are signed with domain keys of giltgroupe.com. mailed-by giltgroupe.bounce.ed10.net signed-by giltgroupe.com My Story I couldn't manage to sign x.com with y.com 's domain key using dk-filter under Debian Lenny with postfix. If I try to init dk-filter service with following arguments: DAEMON_OPTS="$DAEMON_OPTS -d x.com,y.com -c nofws -k -i /var/dk-filter/internal_hosts -s /etc/dk-keys.conf" dk-filter service signs with domain x.com (d=x.com) If I change the daemon arg.s as following: DAEMON_OPTS="$DAEMON_OPTS -d x.com -c nofws -k -i /var/dk-filter/internal_hosts -s /etc/dk-keys.conf" then emails sent From y.com is not being signed. the dk-keys.conf file is as follows: *:/var/dk-filter/y.com/mail I managed to do same thing with DKIM, works perfect. However DK doesn't seem to work. I don't have any problem signing y.com's emails with y.com's key and x.com's emails x.com's key, which indicates there is no configuration problem. Do you have any experience/advice to make it possible to sign emails from multiple domains by a specific chosen domain?

  • Email bouncing sent from Google

    - by davidmck
    I'm hoping someone here has an idea of where to look next. We have a domain we support which has email sent to it from one particular user bounce with the following message: Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: [email protected] Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Unrouteable address (state 14). We only have reports of bouncing form this one particular user (who is someone we don't support - except they'd like to be able to contact our customer and we're trying to figure out if the problem is on our end). Many people can successfully send to this domain and the user who is getting bounce messages can send to other domains that we support (so it's clearly something specific with the princetonscoop.com domain and not our setup in general). I've reviewed the MX records multiple times and the server logs don't show a connection which generates this error (in fact this error is not one that our mail server would ever return). So it appears that google is contacting a different mail server for some reason. I have tested sending from my gmail account and that works. I believe the sender is using a google-apps account (the account they are using is from their own domain, not a gmail account). Any ideas on what might be happening here or what to test/investigate next? Thanks.

  • postfix says mail sent ok, message does not arrive in ISPs inbox? no reject in log?

    - by Nick
    When I send a test message from my mail server to my @bellsouth.net email, The postfix log shows it was sent OK, but the message never arrives in my bellsouth inbox. Shouldn't I get a failure notice or a bounce if At&T is blocking the messages? I'm trying to troubleshoot why some customers aren't getting emails, but if there's nothing in mail.log to say the message is rejected, how do I know which messages were delivered successfully? The log shows: Feb 27 09:02:36 MyHOSTNAME postfix/pickup[26175]: D53A72713E5: uid=0 from=<root> Feb 27 09:02:36 MyHOSTNAME postfix/cleanup[26487]: D53A72713E5: message-id=<[email protected]> Feb 27 09:02:36 MyHOSTNAME postfix/qmgr[5595]: D53A72713E5: from=<[email protected]>, size=878, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Feb 27 09:02:37 MyHOSTNAME postfix/smtp[26490]: D53A72713E5: to=<[email protected]>, relay=gateway-f1.isp.att.net[204.127.217.16]:25, delay=0.57, delays=0.11/0.03/0.23/0.19, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (250 ok ; id=20120227140036M0700qer4ne) Feb 27 09:02:37 MyHOSTNAME postfix/qmgr[5595]: D53A72713E5: removed The AT&T server accepted the message, right? I happen to have an At&T/Bellsouth email, but I don't have an account with every ISP we send to. I need some way of knowing if a message is getting to its destination or not. Is there any setting in my main.cf file that would affect whether or not we get reject/bounce notices?

  • Postfix + procmail - delivery fails because "can't create user output file" - on CentOS 6.2

    - by jshin47
    I verified that my postfix installation / relaying setup worked. Now I am having trouble with procmail. I have it wired to postfix with the following command: mailbox_command = /usr/bin/procmail -f -a "$USER" I have nothing in my procmail config but the following: LOGFILE=/var/procmailrc/log And I send an email to a recipient that previously worked (before I attached procmail). Now it fails with error: Apr 6 14:07:05 localhost postfix/qmgr[15194]: D0C3DFF6E1: from=<[email protected]>, size=938, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Apr 6 14:07:05 localhost postfix/local[1953]: D0C3DFF6E1: to=<[email protected]>, orig_to=<postmaster>, relay=local, delay=0.05, delays=0.02/0.01/0/0.02, dsn=5.2.0, status=bounced (can't create user output file. Command output: procmail: Couldn't create "/var/spool/mail/nobody" procmail: Couldn't read "//root" ) Apr 6 14:07:05 localhost postfix/bounce[1955]: warning: D0C3DFF6E1: undeliverable postmaster notification discarded Apr 6 14:07:05 localhost postfix/qmgr[15194]: D0C3DFF6E1: removed It seems like there is some sort of permissions issue but I do not know what the problem is, nor do I understand how I would go about diagnosing it further. The logfile that I specified is empty, by the way. How can I make procmail+postfix work?

  • How would I setup iMail to forward a user's mail to another service w/o leaving a copy locally?

    - by Scott Mayfield
    I have an iMail 2006 server installation in which I have a particular user that has several aliases that all point to a single user (me, for the record). I've been copying all of my mail to GMail and reading it there, but it annoys me that I have to go back weekly and log into my mail account on iMail and delete between 6 and 10 thousand copies of messages I've already received, in order to keep my mailbox from filling up (yes, I have it set with no quota, but I consider it bad form to just let the box grow indefinitely). I've got the copying setup via an inbound user rule, but I'm wondering how to accomplish a "copy and delete" rule. The manual isn't clear on what happens with multiple matching rules (will they be processed in order, or is it a first match situation?) and there isn't a means to combine multiple actions into a single rule. If I use the "forward" action, I THINK that it's going to screw up all the sender information once the mail reaches my GMail account and show it as coming from me instead of the original senders (can anyone confirm that this is accurate?) An easy answer would be to delete my user account entirely, replace it with an alias that maps to my GMail account, but then I would lose my ability to log into the system for admin duties. So that leads me to creating a second, lesser known account for admin use, but since it's a real account, sooner or later I'm going to get mail sent to it and I'll be back to the same situation of having a user account that doesn't get emptied periodically. I imagine I can set the quota to 0 MB to cause all incoming mail to my admin account to bounce, or setup an inbound rule to bounce everything, but this is starting to sound kludgy to me. Does anyone know of a more direct work around to copying a user's incoming mail to an outside server and then deleting the local copy w/o removing their account entirely? Or is this just wishful thinking? Thanks in advance. Scott

  • Slow filesystem access

    - by danneh3826
    I'm trying to diagnose a slow filesystem issue on a server I look after. It's been ongoing for quite some time, and I've run out of ideas as to what I can try. Here's the thick of it. The server itself is a Dell Poweredge T310. It has 4 SAS hard drives in it, configured at RAID5, and is running Citrix XenServer 5.6. The VM is a (relatively) old Debian 5.0.6 installation. It's given 4 cores, and 4Gb's of RAM. It has 3 volumes. A 10Gb volume (ext3) for the system, 980Gb volume (xfs) for data (~94% full), and another 200Gb volume (xfs) for data (~13% full). Now here's the weird thing. Read/write access to the 980Gb volume is really slow. I might get 5Mb/s out of it if I'm lucky. At first I figured it was actually disk access in the system, or at a hypervisor level, but ruled that out entirely as other VMs on the same host are running perfectly fine (a good couple hundred Mb/s disk r/w access). So then I started to target this particular VM. I started thinking it was XFS, but to prove it I wasn't going to attempt to change the filesystem on the 980Gb drive, with years and years of billions of files on there. So I provisioned the 200Gb drive, and did the same read/write test (basically dd), and got a good couple hundred Mb/s r/w access to it. So that ruled out the VM, the hardware, and the filesystem type. There's also a lot of these in /var/log/kern.log; (sorry, this is quite long) Sep 4 10:16:59 uriel kernel: [32571790.564689] httpd: page allocation failure. order:5, mode:0x4020 Sep 4 10:16:59 uriel kernel: [32571790.564693] Pid: 7318, comm: httpd Not tainted 2.6.32-4-686-bigmem #1 Sep 4 10:16:59 uriel kernel: [32571790.564696] Call Trace: Sep 4 10:16:59 uriel kernel: [32571790.564705] [<c1092a4d>] ?

  • Why does Exchange 2003 silently reject emails with large attachments?

    - by Cypher
    Our environment: Exchange Server 2003 Standard, single instance, running on Windows Server 2003 Standard. configured to not send/receive mail with attachments larger than 10 MB. NDRs are not enabled. The issue: When an external sender sends an email with an attachment larger than 10MB, Exchange, as configured, does not receive the message. However, the sender of that message does not receive any notifications from his own mail server that the message could not be delivered due to attachment size. However, if an external user tries to send an email to a non-existent user, they do receive a message from their mail server indicating that the user does not exist. Why is that, and is there anything I can do about it? It would be nice if the sender received notification that the attachment file size exceeds our limits and their message was never received... Update The Exchange server has a SpamAssassin box in front of it... could that have something to do with it? Here is one of the last lines from SpamAssassin's logs when searching for my test e-mails: mail postfix/smtp[19133]: 2B80917758: to=, relay=10.0.0.8[10.0.0.8]:25, delay=4.3, delays=2.6/0/0/1.7, dsn=2.6.0, status=sent (250 2.6.0 Queued mail for delivery) My assumption is that Spam Assassin thinks the message is OK and is forwarding it off to Exchange. Update I've verified that Exchange is receiving the message and generating an NDR. However, delivery of NDRs are disabled to prevent Backscatter. Is there something that I can do to get Exchange to send a bounce message to the sending mail server (or verify that message is being sent) so the sending mail server can notify its sender of the bounce?

  • Microsoft Excel not graphing

    - by SmartLemon
    Im not sure if this is a math question or a su question. The experiment was relating the period of one "bounce" when you hang a weight on a spring and let it bounce. I have this data here, one being mass and one being time. The time is an average of 5 trials, each one being and average of 20 bounces, to minimize human error. t 0.3049s 0.3982s 0.4838s 0.5572s 0.6219s 0.6804s 0.7362s 0.7811s 0.8328s 0.869s The mass is the mass that was used in each trial (they aren't going up in exact differences because each weight has a slight difference, nothing is perfect in the real world) m 50.59g 100.43g 150.25g 200.19g 250.89g 301.16g 351.28g 400.79g 450.43g 499.71g My problem is that I need to find the relationship between them, I know m = (k/4PI^2)*T^2 so I can work out k like that but we need to graph it. I can assume that the relationship is a sqrt relation, not sure on that one. But it appears to be the reverse of a square. Should it be 1/x^2 then? Either way my problem is still present, I have tried 1/x, 1/x^2, sqrt, x^2, none of them produce a straight line. The problem for SU is that when I go to graph the data on Excel I set the y axis data (which is the weights) and then when I go to set the x axis (which is the time) it just replaces the y axis with what I want to be the x axis, this is only happening when I have the sqrt of "m" as the y axis and I try to set the x axis as the time. The problem of math is that, am I even using the right thing? To get a straight line it would need to be x = y^1/2 right? I thought I was doing the right thing, it is what we were told to do. I'm just not getting anything that looks right.

  • Message to distribution list with removed recipient bouncing back when sent from external mail server

    - by jshin47
    I removed a particular user from all distribution groups manually about five days ago. This user was a member of two particular groups that have other recipients. The OAB polling interval is 30 minutes, not that it really matters here. The situation is that I have an SMTP server that is not part of my Exchange organization that sends out automated email reports to these distribution groups. It sends them using a from: address that is a member of our Exchange organization. That member receives a bounce-back email indicating the member that should have been removed from the group does not exist. I have also verified that this is the same behavior when sending an email from a webmail service like GMail or Hotmail (outside of our Exchange organization of course) to either of those distribution group addresses. However when I send an email internally to one of those distribution group addresses everything works as expected (no bounce messages.) Not sure why this would be happening, but also not sure how to go about diagnosing the issue. I've looked at the SMTP headers and there are no relevant clues there as far as I can tell. I think it's an Exchange issue.

But there is no any memory problems reported in munin monitoring: As you see system uses around 0.2G and 1G is available. So my question is: Is it xen specific problem, that real memory usage and memory usage that shows munin are different (I've never seen such problems oh real hardware machines)? Or maybe it is just monitoring problem, that can't catch moment when there is unusual high load and domU go down? And how I can to defeat this problem? it is really annoying to catch messages in e-mail that domU went down. Btw, such situation was when domU had 2G memory.

    Hi, I was trying to draw the raphaeljs piechart. I used the same example as shown on "http://g.raphaeljs.com/piechart2.html". It renders me the text but the pie charts goes missing.Can someone please help? please find the code below. g·Raphaël Dynamic Pie Chart Demo window.onload = function () { var r = Raphael("holder"); r.g.txtattr.font = "12px 'Fontin Sans', Fontin-Sans, sans-serif"; r.g.text(320, 100, "Interactive Pie Chart Demo").attr({"font-size": 20}); var pie = r.g.piechart(320, 240, 100, [55, 20, 13, 32, 5, 1, 2, 10], {legend: ["%%.%% – Enterprise Users", "IE Users"], legendpos: "west", href: ["http://raphaeljs.com", "http://g.raphaeljs.com"]}); pie.hover(function () { this.sector.stop(); this.sector.scale(1.1, 1.1, this.cx, this.cy); if (this.label) { this.label[0].stop(); this.label[0].scale(1.5); this.label[1].attr({"font-weight": 800}); } }, function () { this.sector.animate({scale: [1, 1, this.cx, this.cy]}, 500, "bounce"); if (this.label) { this.label[0].animate({scale: 1}, 500, "bounce"); this.label[1].attr({"font-weight": 400}); } }); }; </script> </head> <body class="raphael" id="g.raphael.dmitry.baranovskiy.com"> <div id="holder"></div> <p> Pie chart with legend, hyperlinks on two first sectors and hover effect. </p> <p> Demo of <a href="http://g.raphaeljs.com/">g·Raphaël</a> JavaScript library. </p> </body>

  • Mootools Javascript can't push to array

    - by nona
    I have an array set with the heights of each hidden div, but when I use it, the div instantly jumps down, rather than slowly sliding as when there is a literal number. EDIT: testing seems to reveal that it's a problem with the push method, as content_height.push(item.getElement('.moreInfo').offsetHeight);alert(content_height[i]);gives undefined, but alert(item.getElement('.moreInfo').offsetHeight); gives the correct values Javascript: window.addEvent('domready', function(){ var content_height = [];i=0; $$( '.bio_accordion' ).each(function(item){ i++; content_height.push( item.getElement('.moreInfo').offsetHeight); var thisSlider = new Fx.Slide( item.getElement( '.moreInfo' ), { mode: 'horizontal' } ); thisSlider.hide(); item.getElement('.moreInfo').set('tween').tween('height', '0px'); var morph = new Fx.Morph(item.getElement( '.divToggle' )); var selected = 0; item.getElement( '.divToggle' ).addEvents({ 'mouseenter': function(){ if(!selected) this.morph('.div_highlight'); }, 'mouseleave': function(){ if(!selected) { this.morph('.divToggle'); } }, 'click': function(){ if (!selected){ if (this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML == '+') this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML = '-'; else this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML = '+'; item.getElement('.moreInfo').set('tween', { duration: 1500, transition: Fx.Transitions.Bounce.easeOut }).tween('height', content_height[i]); //replacing this with '650' keeps it smooth selected = 1; thisSlider.slideIn(); } else{ if (this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML == '+') this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML = '-'; else this.getElement('.symbol').innerHTML = '+'; thisSlider.slideOut(); item.getElement('.moreInfo').set('tween', { duration: 1000, transition: Fx.Transitions.Bounce.easeOut }).tween('height', '0px'); selected = 0; } } }); } ); }); Why could this be? Thanks so much!

  • Processing velocity-vectors during collision as neatly as possible

    - by DevEight
    Hello. I'm trying to create a good way to handle all possible collisions between two objects. Typically one will be moving and hitting the other, and should then "bounce" away. What I've done so far (I'm creating a typical game where you have a board and bounce a ball at bricks) is to check if the rectangles intersect and if they do, invert the Y-velocity. This is a really ugly and temporary solution that won't work in the long haul and since this is kind of processing is very common in games I'd really like to find a great way of doing this for future projects aswell. Any links or helpful info is appreciated. Below is what my collision-handling function looks like right now. protected void collision() { #region Boundaries if (bal.position.X + bal.velocity.X >= viewportRect.Width || bal.position.X + bal.velocity.X <= 0) { bal.velocity.X *= -1; } if (bal.position.Y + bal.velocity.Y <= 0) { bal.velocity.Y *= -1; } #endregion bal.rect = new Rectangle((int)bal.position.X+(int)bal.velocity.X-bal.sprite.Width/2, (int)bal.position.Y-bal.sprite.Height/2+(int)bal.velocity.Y, bal.sprite.Width, bal.sprite.Height); player.rect = new Rectangle((int)player.position.X-player.sprite.Width/2, (int)player.position.Y-player.sprite.Height/2, player.sprite.Width, player.sprite.Height); if (bal.rect.Intersects(player.rect)) { bal.position.Y = player.position.Y - player.sprite.Height / 2 - bal.sprite.Height / 2; if (player.position.X != player.prevPos.X) { bal.velocity.X -= (player.prevPos.X - player.position.X) / 2; } bal.velocity.Y *= -1; } foreach (Brick b in brickArray.list) { b.rect.X = Convert.ToInt32(b.position.X-b.sprite.Width/2); b.rect.Y = Convert.ToInt32(b.position.Y-b.sprite.Height/2); if (bal.rect.Intersects(b.rect)) { b.recieveHit(); bal.velocity.Y *= -1; } } brickArray.removeDead(); }

  • Handling Email Bouncebacks in Rails

    - by aressidi
    Hi there, I've built a very basic CRM system for my rails app that allows me to send weekly user activity digests with custom text and create multi-part marketing messages which I can configure and send through a basic admin interface. I'm happy with what I've put together on the send-side of things (minus the fact that I haven't tried to volume test its capabilities), but I'm concerned about how to handle bounce-backs. I came across this plugin with associated scripts: http://github.com/kovyrin/bounces-handler I'm using Google Apps to handle my mail and really don't know enough about Perl to want to mess with the above plugin - I have enough headaches. I'm looking for a simple solution for processing bounce-backs in Rails. All my email will go out from an address like this which will be managed in Google Apps: "[email protected]." What's the best workflow for this? Can anyone post an example solution they're using keeping in mind the fact that I'm using Google Apps for the mail? Any guidance, links, or basic workflow best-practices to handle this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -A

  • Preventing Postfix backscattering

    - by Must Do Better
    I am having problems with the Postfix mail server being used for backscattering, I have tried the suggestions in the manual but nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how we can reject any mail from entering the queue if the recipient doesn't match a local recipient rather than send bounce emails? I'm assuming it should be a fairly straight forward change in the configuration files. Just to note I am using Webmin/Virtualmin on the server.
