• Last-modified date not showing up in indexed documents

  We have tried everything, pushing feeds, setting up fields in "document dates" screen to enable all documents in the index to contain a value for Last-modified date. Nothing seems to make documents retain a "last-modified date" in the index. How does one enable a last-modified date for all documents in the index? Note: the meta value will come from an external xml source (not a database). Followed the google instructions for our gsa version (6.4.0.G.22). Yes I know the GSA version is quite old, we've been told by our google-representative support team themselves, that updating the GSA to the latest version "should" resolve the problem, and by "should" I mean, their GSA did the same thing (no last-modified date) and updating our GSA is another can of worms story :)

• Google Mini Search Does Not Return Results

  I pointed the Google Mini to a small intranet site. (8 simple HTML pages) It crawls all 8 pages just fine, but a simple search with a word clearing contained within the body of the pages returns 0 results. If I enter a search like this: "site:mysite.net", it returns all 8 pages. If I enter a search with a word contained in a Url, it will return that Url. In the search results, only the Url is returned in the list items. There is no Page Title or blurb text you normally see in Google search results. It's as if it is only indexing the Url and skipping the page title, body, etc. I have an old software Version 3.4.14, but I wanted to try to get this thing working without an upgrade. It worked before for another domain, so why would it not work now. Any ideas?

• Need recommendations for a hardy scanner that has a robust feeder tray

  In the early days of our company all our information came in on paper and all of what we sold was on paper. Because of this we literally rent our an old bank vault to house the millions of sheets of paper that, some say, still contain relevant information. That being said, I'm looking into purchasing some hardware capable of scanning all these documents and converting them to pdf. Being new at this level of digitization I would like to ask for recommendations for accomplishing this task. Most of this material exists as separate bound studies/articles/etc. Someone would have to remove the bindings and be able to load many pages at a time and have the scanner feed them all through and convert them to a single pdf (single pdf per study/article/etc). If you have any recommendations I would very much appreciate hearing about them, thanks.

  Hello Although I have no problem using SecureCRT (5.1.2 build 274) to work from Windows and connect to PC's running Linux, I have a problem when connecting to an embedded Asterisk appliance that provides"vi" through BusyBox 1.4.1 (2008-03-10). The issue I'm having, is that when I paste code into vi, the text appears jagged like this: <?php try { $dbh = new PDO("sqlite:./db.sqlite"); $dbh->exec("CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS customer (id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY AUTOINCREMENT, name VARCHAR(255))"); Does someone what the problem is? • Can you create ACLs with open vSwitch on XenServer 5.6FP1 without using the DVS appliance?

  I have a pool of XenServer hosts running the Free version of XenServer 5.6 FP1. I was wondering if I change the network backend to use Open vSwitch if I can specify ACLs on individual network VIFs without needing to use the DVS appliance (distributed virtual switch) which requires an Advanced License or higher. Basically I'm looking for a way to isolate VMs on my network so that if a user had root access on the command line they couldn't access other servers they should not be able to (without using a VLAN).

• Any worker agent monitors for appliance based load balancers?

  Looking to find out to what extent an appliance load balancer can monitor servers for both failover (say for example a service like apache tomcat fails) and load balancing? Right now it looks like it's just port monitoring/connection tracking and healthcheck urls that it will heartbeat and detect as down if it doesn't come back with a finished request. We are looking at the Kemp 3500 or Loadbalancer.org solutions. Is there any sort of web application level monitoring/load balancing that these load balancers can offer that can more directly interact with the servers it's balancing?

• Can I use a Google Appliance/Mini to crawl and index sites I don't own?

  Maybe this is a stupid question, but... I am working with this company and they said they needed to get "permission" to crawl other people's sites. They have a Google Search Appliance And some Google Minis and want to point them at other sites to aggregate content. The end result will be something like a targeted search engine. (All the indexed sites relate to a specific topic) The only thing they will be doing is: Indexing Content from the other sites/domains Providing search functionality on their own site that searches the indexed content (like Google, displaying summaries and not the full content) The search results will provide links back to the original content Their intent is not malicious in nature, and is to provide a single site/resource for people to reference on their given topic. Is there anything illegal or fishy about this process?

• FASM vc MASM trasnlation problem in mov si, offset msg

  hi folks, just did my first test with MASM and FASM with the same code (almos) and I falled in trouble. The only difference is that to produce just the 104 bytes I need to write to MBR in FASM I put org 7c00h and in MASM 0h. The problem is on the mov si, offset msg that in the first case transletes it to 44 7C (7c44h) and with masm translates to 44 00 (0044h)! but just when I change org 7c00h to org 0h in MASM. Otherwise it will produce the entire segment from 0 to 7dff. how do I solve it? or in short, how to make MASM produce a binary that begins at 7c00h as it first byte and subsequent jumps remain relative to 7c00h? .model TINY .code org 7c00h ; Boot entry point. Would I need to use regex twice and can I change the inside of the <a ... >...</a> using regex or is there an easier way with C#?

• How to get a good current VMWare browser appliance?

  I'd like to have a small VMWare virtual machine that runs a copy of Firefox, with Flash enabled. (Or some equivalently-capable browser.) I tried doing some Google searching with no luck finding good keywords, and tried looking through VMWare's "marketplace" of VMs, but all I found were things from 2006 or so. Is there a reasonably easy way to get a current one? Ideally, I'd like to just download one somewhere, but in the alternative, a quick how-to guide would be useful. I know I could go through the whole process of getting a full-Linux-install VM and setting things up, but that seems like quite a lot of trouble and ends up with a pretty heavyweight solution to the problem, so I'm hoping there's a simpler way.
